Simple and easy to install, option to sign up for a additional support but no long term commitment. Only gripe is that the outside camera is affixed in such a way that outside my front door (a flat) it could easily be pulled down or the even stolen. Otherwise I’m very happy with it.

One feature I’d like is an option to open the front door but still have the camera on so if there was a problem it is being recorded.

This is a good alarm system that overall I’m v happy with. Installation was a piece of cake and done within an hour. Works as a standalone alarm without any additional payment. Downside is that to be able to make full use of the functionality on the app a subscription is required costing upwards of 15 a month. There is a cheaper option for recording footage only which is c.5 a month.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m tech challenged and i managed to set the system up, cameras work brilliantly very good clear definition, since setting up the app the alarm/motion sensor has gone off 3 times, partly my fault and the cats, Simpli safe response was quick, polite, efficient, would strongly recommend.

Great value alarm system. You need a subscription to get the full benefit (not clear up front before I bought it) but the benefits of subscription are pretty good. Connects to the Wi-Fi well although I needed a mesh extender for the outside camera. Easy set up with nice clear directions. Be mindful that full cove is about 2 days after it’s activated.

It is very easy to install, everything works fine and just as expected.
But bear in mind the Pro plan will cost you some money.

    Easy to install

I have held off writing this review as we have been having an extension and house renovation. Now this work is complete I had concerns about security.

This home security system from SimpliSafe is wireless and hopefully has everything I require to keep my home safe! Arrives well packaged with quite a few boxes, helpfully they are all labelled and the QuickStart guide is easy to understand.

It seems of you require full functionality it is best to take out a paid subscription. From the manufacturer: “Optional, no contract, 24/7 professional monitoring for complete peace of mind – plans start from 43p/day and for full functionality our Pro Premium plan is only 66p/day. Use of app features also requires a subscription. Plans sold separately. 1 month free monitoring is included with all systems.”

In the box you get: Base Station (acts as 95dB alarm), Keypad, 2 x Wireless 1080p Outdoor Camera, HD Indoor Camera, 2 Entry Sensors and 1 PIR Motion Sensor

My husband set this all up, you do need to charge up the cameras before use, this takes around 5 hours. We were all set up and running in a couple of hours.

There are some concerns about privacy, as raised in a previous review. I am going to do more research into how this will affect me and whether or not I continue using this product after the free trial ends.

An expensive item which I am hoping will provide us with peace of mind!

Great easy to install security system, took me about 20 minutes to install everything including both outdoor cameras. I called customer service for some assistance and they responded quickly and provided the information I needed at the time. Highly recommend

Bought to extend an existing system which I am very pleased with. Only downside is that one of the exterior cameras is in a high traffic flow area so only lasts around 2 weeks on a charge but easy enough to take down and charge the battery. Would definitely recommend

Thought it would be a nightmare to instal a burglar alarm but this gives full coverage of my home and garden, and only took a couple of hours to set up.

Saw a review on the gadget show, and following house renovations our old wired system got destroyed. So easy to install, simply brilliant. Camera images are your usual cctv quality, nothing like a phone can manage, however it’s up to the job

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI’ve had this Simplysafe alarm system for a short while and I can honestly say it’s had a really big impact on how safe I feel. Just to know that I can view a camera if I think someone is out there is extremely reassuring along with all the other features.

Sit back and get a cup of tea as this is a long review…

Straight out of the box(es) it was incredibly simple to install although admittedly I was slightly overwhelmed by the number of boxes at first but each one was clearly labelled with what was inside and also what to do with it, this was on the outside of each box, as soon as I noticed this I felt confident to set it all up entirely on my own. There is also a quick start guide in a folder in the box.

The first thing I set up was the base station, I just had to plug it in, this is a vase like object that looks pleasant just about anywhere. The next item was the keypad, this is a really good well thought out thing, it lights up as soon as you touch it and you navigate your way round it by touching the edges of the screen along with the keypad. There is a useful sticker on the screen telling you this. you can stick the holder to the wall and remove the keypad if you want to. You need to connect the keypad to your wifi which was surprisingly easy do do using the old style numeric/alphabetic keys, once connected to the wifi and base station it was ready to go. There is also a built in panic button in the keypad which is extremely useful and reassuring.

I had to charge the batteries for the outside cameras for five hours, but they have indicators on them to show the progress, once charged they last for around three months which is impressive. I put the cameras on charge and went about setting up the other devices.

To ease set up, each device has a button on it, you need to remove the battery saver plug from it and then go to devices on the keypad, press the button on the device and it will connect it to the system, each time the base station will tell you the device has been connected, this was extremely easy to do for each device. I had a motion sensor, two door/window sensors and an indoor camera. the door sensors are really good as they can be up to 5cms away from each other, I have really old wonky doors and the sensors sit and work perfectly around 1-2 cms apart. The indoor camera needs a plug, it’s on a USB but considering the outdoor cameras work on 3month life rechargeable batteries this was a bit of a disappointment as it also restricted where it can be placed, however it is a very good camera so this is a minor thing to overcome and it is also something I would only use if I was out, it also connected direct to my wifi via the app and a qr code (more about the app further down).

I then downloaded the Simplysafe app while I waited for the outside cameras to charge, it was very straightforward to connect the alarm to it. I also spent some time playing around with the indoor camera which I discovered you could talk to through the app, this meant for some great practical jokes but is also a great security feature.

Once the outdoor cameras were charged I connected them to the system and went about looking for the best place to put them, they have amazing magnetic connections so all you need is two small screws (provided) and they snap into place and can be removed easily to recharge. I do however find this is a small downfall as it means the camera could be easily removed if not placed somewhere hard to get to so keep this in mind when installing them.

Once installed I spent loads of time on the app looking at my garden and drive, it was amazing, nothing happened but it was great to be able to see out there in the dark! All three cameras (outside and indoor) have infrared so darkness does not hinder them.

As for daily operation these are the features I have found most useful so far, whenever any camera detects motion the app tells me, I can then click on the notification which takes me to the camera and I can see what is happening. The outdoor cameras have speakers as well so you can speak to a delivery driver if you have a camera close to the front door. Each time the front or back door opens the base station makes a small chime, I think you can set this to silent if you are at home but it is a useful feature unless you have kids in and out all the time. Everything except the indoor camera is battery operated, and the base although needing to be plugged in for general use has a rechargeable battery which lasts for 24 hours which means you are covered for power cuts, or idiots who unplug everything at night and forget it needed to stay plugged in!

I have so far used the whole system without signing up to the subscription services offered and I am impressed with what I get which is an alarm which will go off inside (using the base station as a speaker), the ability to see through the cameras via the app, motion detection of the cameras via the app, and the door chime, but basically apart from being able to monitor the cameras while live there and a loud noise going off if someone breaks in there is little else. For 4.99 a month I can sign up to have the camera footage recorded, this is something worth considering as it gives you evidence if something where to happen. The next package is 12.99 a month, this is for the alarm to be moniterod and a call to you if the alarm is triggered. The top package is a mere 19.99 a month, for this you get everything I mentioned in the previous two packages plus the option for the police or security guard to be dispatched to your property if an incident arises in my opinion this is superb value for money and peace of mind.

I have also looked at other devices I can add to my system, a carbon monoxide alarm, smoke alarm, extra panic buttons, key fobs, leak/flood detector, glass break detector, additional cameras and door sensors. The whole range has been extremely well thought out is priced very reasonably and I will certainly be adding to my own system.

The ease of self installation and set up along with the very well priced packages makes this system an absolute must in home and garden security and I can now sleep more peacefully and go away with absolute peace of mind.
