Easy to use and with the battery being common to my other Greenworks garden equipment, it is flexible. It is a little bit heavier than I had expected however this doesn’t detract from the overall efficiency.

This is a lightweight tool which is easy to use. It cut through thick branches of my hedge with ease. I was glad not to have to buy a battery as I already have one for my strimmer. The battery power lasted well for one task but I shall see with more use how long it goes on for.

Battery is heavy which is the major disadvantage however I still to establish the operational time as the heavy battery may gain merit if the running time is significantly longer?

Brilliant product! Powerful cutting and very light weight. Quick charging time and easy use without the trouble of cables. Not the cheapest cost but worth every penny I would say. Definitely would recommend if your unsure.

I already have a Greenworks blower so it made sense to buy a Greenworks hedge trimmer and share advantage of two batteries/chargers. Easy to handle, portable and cuts well.
Maybe on the expensive side but for me worth it.

Really like Greenworks tools, I have the strimmer, leaf blower, lawn mower and this is my second hedge cutter, having given away my first to a friend. I am still using the same batteries that I had with the first purchase, the lawn mower, which are dated 15/03/16 and still going strong. Very Happy.

Used this for the first time with my 6ah battery and only used 25% of it on a stretch of very overgrown privet side and top at least 40ft long well impressed it’s powerfull and hardly used any battery, defo going to invest in strimmer and lawnmower next.

Powerful and easy to use with good battery life. It is much better and easier to use than the last corded hedge trimmer I had. Cut through overgrown hedges without any trouble.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good hedge trimme

Was trimming hedges easy? – Yes. A lot easier than my old corded model. This trimmer cuts through the stuff my old trimmer wouldn’t.
Is it lightweight? – Not for me, but I want durability rather than flimsiness and I can take a rest when I want to. I find that keeping the hedge straight at about 6 foot/1 meter a bit of a challenge. The hedge sides were easy though!
Battery life? – Ah! plenty of battery left when I finished remodelling my hedge, but, according to the manual, I’m not supposed to recharge the battery unless nearly flat! That said, I bought another battery so I always have a fully charged spare.
Would I buy another? – No. Why would I when I’ve got a perfectly good one already? I did buy more cordless garden tools though because of the sheer convenience of not trailing a mains cable around

battery hedge trimmer very good although the power from 40v 2ah battery needs upgraded to 4ah
    to give better cutting performance

Used this for first time today, found it very easy, blades are sharp and cutting through stems . Battery was really good as spent about 40 min, cutting and used only half of battery power, you can check battery power by pushing a button , lights shine showing what power is left. Very good product.

Extremely happy with purchase. Has made trimming hedges and trees so much easier.
Battery life very good, easy to operate.
It’s a little heavy but a small sacrifice for the time saving and convenience it affords.
    It’s also reasonably quiet.
    Would highly recommend.

Really is light and easy to use. Happy so far but I haven’t had it long so can’t comment on how durable it is.

We used it on our hedge which normal takes an hour to cut and took twenty minutes it’s very light weight and n o electrics to worry about or setting up leads fantastic

Met my expectations. Didn’t understand what is the’additional adjustable handle’
Cost of battery/charger is offset by bring able to use across the tool range. I have the strummer and the lawnmower.

This is a bare unit addition to my greenworks tools and it is as good as the rest it cuts well has a fairly long reach and is very sharp no more cutting through cables now.

Works very well cuts quite sturdy branches without any problem run time is very good.
I have not yet used all thepower in a battery while cutting the hedges.
Only problem is keeping the deadmans handle on all the time when you are cutting.

Whoever thought of having one battery to fit all of a brands tools, had a brilliant idea. It handy for the manufactures, because you keep buying other tools from their range. I think I have 5 GreenWorks gardening tools now – they all work well. If you have the opportunity to buy 2 batteries, go for it. Now and again GreenWorks makes that offer.

Cannot comment on longevity only having used it three times. Pleased with the quality and appears robust and trimmed my hedges without missing a beat. The Amazon deal price was too good to resist. In the time it takes me to unwind the power cable, attach the extension lead and fumble with the said power lead while trying to make a start on my hedge with a cordless I am more or less finished and no leads to tidy and put away.

Cuts well, have a good firm grip on the handles and it is safe and easy to control. If using steps make sure they are on firmly even ground to give you good balance.
The battery is powerful and recharges easily, I am pleased with it.
THE BONUS IS NO CABLE DRAGGING.

This has a good blade length and great battery life. It’s difficult to use up a ladder one handed so I taped the front switch which made it much easier. My hedge is 15 feet high so I use this on the top as the long reach one is too unwieldy. You get a really good cut at ground level and it’s pretty light as well. I haven’t been disappointed with it so can easily recommend it.

I have a lot of small trees, hedges a vine wisteria etc . I found this trimmer made light work of the trimming once I had worked out how to turn it on, which I did not find easy. Probably deliberately made difficult as a safety device. A long blade and cut a decent thickness with no difficulty, The blade could be rotated to make the job easier. Battery charged up quite quickly

Good quality thoroughly recommended. Not too heavy and good battery life. Particularly useful is the ability to rotate the handle enabling you to get close to give a good straight cut to the hedge sides and then rotate the blade to do the top.

I have purchased a number of Greenworks products, Lawnmower, Hedge Trimmer, Chainsaw, Leaf Blower/Vacuum and Strimmer and have not been disappointed. Battery life is reasonable and their performance over the last 9 months has been very good.

It’s quite heavy and not the easiest to use, but it’s incredibly robust and powerful and pretty much does the same job as a petrol trimmer. The battery life is excellent!

Was really unsure what hedge trimmer to buy, so spoke to friend who’s a landscape gardener. He recommend Green works. This one was about the right price, reviews looked good so went for it. Really pleased with it. Have used it several times battery life has been good. Easy to use and addictive as I keep looking for hedges and bushes to trim.

Greenworks really ought to be ‘out there’ more. Second product of theirs that I’ve bought and remain very satisfied. Tackled a large hedge over a couple of days and battery went from 4 lights (fully charged) to two lights with no loss of power. I thought about a petrol clipper but so glad I didn’t. But this was only really good value because I already had the 40v battery from another product and therefore paid the ‘bare’ price.

I love this hedge trimmer, it’s brilliant. I thought it might be to big and heavy but it’s ideal for me 5’4” and 9.8st. I used up one bar of the 2Ah battery trimming quite a long side of a beech head. It is easy to use and the blade can move to 3 different positions. It has a safety cut out and you can’t accidentally switch it on. Looking forward to using it agai

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI got this to replace a petrol hedge cutter multi function things which was a pain to get started. Having spent 30 mins unsuccessfully trying to fire it up I decided to get a battery powered product. Last year I bought a greenworks chainsaw after my Stihl petrol one got stolen, so it made sense to buy this model of hedge cutter as it uses the same batteries. I was surpised at how light it was, lighter than my petrol one. That really helps as it was quite a workout before. So far I have not run the battery down in one session and my hedge is about 50m long. So easy to use, light, reliable – ticks all the boxes as far as I am concerned.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAfter many years of hedge cutting using smelly, noisy, heavier petrol trimmers I decided to look at reviews on cordless trimmers. After a lot of deliberation I plumbed for the Greenworks hedge trimmer. What a lovely user friendly machine. Although not as powerful as petrol models the long cutting blades cut through hedges with ease, battery life approx 40 mins continuous use, full charging approx 90 mins. I wish I had converted to cordless a long time ago, I can certainly recommend this machine.

The hedge trimmer made easy work of a difficult thorn hedge with task completed on a single charge of the battery. I was not expecting this.

If you already have one or more Greenworks 40V batteries (because you already have a Greenworks lawnmower as I have) then this is a good purchase and an effective, lightweight trimmer. If you do not already have a battery or two, check the costs and the other alternatives. For me though, a great piece of kit.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis is a good machine. Pricier than I was looking to pay but having read many reviews of many hedge trimmers opted for this one as I thought, ‘I only want to buy once!’ It is well built; safety on/off switch involves 3x buttons which is needed given that the handle for carrying necessarily involves pressing the lever for trimmer action. The guard is strong and additionally serves as protection when the trimmer is in use. Battery life (2.5amp hours) is more than adequate for my purposes. The trimmer made light work of cutting back a jasmine, 5 metres length and privet hedge, 3.5 metres length. Starting fully charged, the battery charge indicator on the attached battery (a small button needs to be depressed to display status of charge) showed 3 lights remaining out of four to fully cut back overgrown front garden hedge; same for jasmine in back garden. And the battery incidentally is the easiest to slide on/off both the trimmer and the charger. The body of the handle can be swivelled to a horizontal position which is handy for tackling hedges from different angles .Needless to say, great not to have to worry about trailing and cutting cables! My only slight detraction, and it seems hardly fair to mention it as such, is that I found it is a bit on the heavy side for prolonged use. I am small and just 45kg. It is about 4kg with battery attached. There are lighter alternatives on the market. I have, as I say perhaps unfairly, given an overall 4 stars rather than 5 for this reason.

Great cutter, sturdy build, excellent battery life

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI wanted to have neither the fuss and difficulty of an mains electric hedge trimmer because distances and length of flex are an issue for me nor the horrible noise and faff of a 2 stroke petrol trimmer. This trimmer works as well as either but leaves me able to walk between trimming jobs with no setup to change or accompanying noise.

I already had batteries and chargers so it extends my use of these meaning I have a solution to trimming and pruning that works for me. I am very pleased.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersHad already purchased other Greenworks item and have been very happy with them, glad to say that this one hasn’t disappointed either. I have got the extendable hedge cutter but needed a standard one for a slightly less accessible hedge. This one does the job admirably. Like the fact that you can twist the body of the unit to make it easier to use when cutting the side of the hedge. As is the case with all of their items, the battery life is excellent and managed to do 2 20 metre hedges both sides and top, and still have enough life left in the battery to cut the grass with the mower.
I would thoroughly recommend this item.
