I read and watch some reviews about Brita and how Brita filters not work for some people but I totally disagree with them. Last time this filter was out of stock on Amazon (Amazon sells 10 cheaper than retail price) I understood its value. I had to make my coffee or drink my water from tap but the taste in that 2 days was awful experience and even my kettle had some lime at that time. I was a bit not sure about buying these filters every 3-4 months but now I know that I need these. There are a few more expensive ones in the market but Brita seems price/performance one and the best for me.

Gross tasting tap water? Can’t afford to continue buying bottles of water all the time? A Brita Jug and Brita filters are definitely right for you!
They’re really easy to change and we personally choose to change our filter every month to ensure we have great tasting water from our Brita Jug. We only fill out kettle up with filtered water too (as recommend by the manufacturer) and we were surprised by the minimal amount of limescale build up compared to our old kettle that we filled up straight from the tap.

I’ve got to add, I’ve found Amazon to be the cheapest place in the UK to purchase these genuine filters from. I highly recommend picking up a 6 or 12 Pack for best value.

I live in a hard water area and if it wasn’t for water filters my hot drinks would have a film layer on the surface. This is caused by higher content of minerals than soft water areas (eg, magnesium & calcium carbonate), that produces a visible layer of scum. It also ‘furs up’ the kettle.
With these water filters all I get is clear, great tasting teas.
Of course these filters only last 3 to 4 weeks before the film comes back, so buying a multi-pack works out cheaper.
There are other more expensive options like installing a water softener or moving to a soft water area, but for me and my tea, Brita will do.

  32. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Like: ease of install, removal (with the large Brita ‘tank’) and effectiveness. Tea was noticeably lighter and less of the film (made washing up easier too). Espresso crema lasted longer (refillable pods using Lavazza in small Krups nespresso machine).

I noticed the tea-film reappearing and the crema having shorter life after 84 litres of filtration (incl the initial 2 run throughs the instructions tell you to do). According to my water supplier’s online water quality results I live in a hard water area (East midlands).

No sign of any bits in the filtered water.

Slightly annoying that these are cheaper if you buy them with a jug (at time of writing). But there ya go, that’s Amazon for you.

  33. JerriCroft says:

I am no connoisseur of fine water, but this definitely tastes better than tap!

I have noticed that the filter “reader/meter” whatever you want to call it seems to run more on time than particulates or anything in the water. It seems to be that I can use it constantly all day (filter water for my plants) and it not loose any “life”, but if I don’t use the filter/jug for a while it seems to just degrade on its own without me using it.

I don’t know, it’s a good filter, water tastes good, I’ll certainly keep buying these unless given a good reason otherwise.

  34. Bryan Hinkle says:

     United Kingdom

What can you say about these? Well, they are, of course, identical to those available on the Brita website, which strangely are so much more expensive. I don’t think these are value for money – I think they are a rip-off BUT that is not directed at the seller, just that the product is over-priced in the first place. How can they justify the price? However, these have always been expensive – another example of manufacturer selling you something and then making money hand over fist selling you essential consumables – think printer ink or coffee pods.

Genuine Brita filters for a good price and they do a super job filtering your water

    Be advised:

They will or may have moisture/dampness inside the packets or around the plastic casing this is normal as they are pre tested/primed and steam treated so residual water will be trapped inside before final packaging.

Also, they probably won’t have the word “Maxtra +” in blue printed on the sides as they are manufactured for different countries so may be plain white.

I had to contact Brita directly to get these facts as its not stated on packaging.

These are in fact genuine Brita products & its normal if they are slightly wet upon opening.

Although a few were included with our post-2020 Marella jug, once they needed to be replaced one of the products offered and claimed to be fully compatible with a variety of jugs including Brita’s Marella were a Chinese-made alternative that were less than half the price of Brita’s. As reviews appeared to all be positive, they were selected for purchased.

Once the last Brita refill reached the ends of its life, and one compatible cartridge was prepared by pre-soaking and then inserted into the jug. No water passed through within about 25-30 minutes; it normally takes about 7-8 minutes for a fill to pass through to the container below. There were no instructions included and nothing to clearly suggest that they may work with the older Marella but not its recent redesign (they are apparently significantly different). As far as can be seen, there was no way that they could work and they were packed for return.

Of course, these work correctly. The flavour of the water improves after a very few fills of the jug and that is maintained to the end; there is a very slight ‘metallic’ or ‘chemical’ hint in flavour at first.

Best to stay with what is know to work and not which is cheaper but unusable and therefore a waste of money.!

We buy these filters here in Northern Ireland and when we saw them on Amazon we were shocked at the price as these 15 filters will do us till next year and the reason you buying these is that either Tesco or Sainsbury sells them in packs of 3 and their bloody expensive, whereas we just paid for the full pack 15 and it worked out cheaper for us. I would rather buy the filters this way in bulk and save money than throwing money away as it is better to shop around and we seem to be buying more on Amazon than in the shops at their prices. I would recommend this bulk buy to any family as it works out cheaper in the end.

I purchased these BRITA MAXTRA+ water filter cartridges for my BRITA Style XL Water Filter.

These water filter cartridges are fantastic. I received a genuine product. The filters come in a BRITA branded box. Each water filter cartridge comes in its own BRITA branded packaging.

This multipack offers excellent value for money. On average, a water filter cartridge lasts for about 1 month, subject to how much you consume. I drink about 5-6 pints of water a day.

Given the importance of water and filtered water in a hard water area, BRITA is a sensible choice. The product works out better when compared to buying bottled water. There is also less plastic and to my mind it tastes better too!

Some people complain that the BRITA MAXTRA+ have a sharp bitter taste. I too have experienced this. Why? It’s complicated. But I’ll try to answer this the best I can. I will also give you a good tip on how to address this.

    1. A BRITA MAXTRA+ water filter can remove up to 20% more limescale. This can make the water taste sharp, if you are not used to purified water.

    2. A BRITA MAXTRA+ water filter uses carbon to reduce the number of chemicals and particles in the water. This too, can give the water an unpleasant taste.

Carbon contains many tiny dimples and crevasses. This results in trapped chemicals and particles within the filter. This can alter the taste of drinking water. When you first buy your BRITA MAXTRA+ water filter cartridge, there are many small holes which contain air and carbon dust.

Thus, you must flush your filter several times to purify the filter. Doing this will improve the taste so much.

Each time I replace a BRITA MAXTRA+ water filter cartridge, I take 10 simple steps to achieve the best result:

    01. Remove and recycle the old BRITA MAXTRA+ cartridge.
    02. Give the jug a good scrub, inside and out.
    03. Leave it to dry.
    04. Insert a new BRITA MAXTRA+ water filter cartridge.
    05. Ensure the BRITA MAXTRA+ cartridge clicks into place.
    06. Pour water into the jug.
    07. Wait for the water to filter through.
    08. Pour the water away or water your plants with it, etc.
    09. Repeat steps 6 and 8 — 5 to 6 times.
    10. Press the reset button on your jug.

If you still experience a very minor after taste, don’t worry, this is very short-lived. You can also try a bonus step and leave the water in the jug for 15 minutes on the final rinse.

You can even give your brand new BRITA MAXTRA+ cartridge a little shake, add it to a bowl of lukewarm water. Leave the cartridge to soak for 15 minutes. Then follow the 10 steps above.

If you follow my steps, you will soon enjoy the freshest and purest water. Delicious!

If, despite these steps, you cannot enjoy the water, you may need to invest in an ‘Reverse Osmosis System’! But, try BRITA first, most of you will not be disappointed.

If this review and my tips helped, please raise a glass of water and press the helpful button below.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersLiving in a very hard water area, a decent water filter is a must – particularly to prevent your electric kettle ‘furring’ up.

We recently upgraded to an 8.2L Brita filter tank and bought these filter cartridges to go with it. They work a treat and the water tastes great.

These filter cartridges are readily available at a reasonable price – a 6 month supply costing about 20 on Amazon. To get the best performance from them, carefully follow the preparation instructions before normal use.

Compatible cartridges are also available at a lower cost. However, I have no idea as to their quality or longevity. My previous experiences with cheaper alternatives were not particularly good…..

    Great tasting water!

Having a water filter has made an incredible difference to my cuppa! I used to be somewhat sceptical about the claims made for filtered water, but not any longer. The tap water in my area had seemed okay until I compared it with the filtered water from a family member’s tap. I couldn’t understand why their tea always tasted so much better than my own, even though I switched to the same tea! Then I got this water filter and the difference suddenly became clear. I’ll never make tea from ordinary tap water again; why would I when the improvement in flavour is so remarkable?

I always buy Brita filters as I find these taste the best in comparison to other brands I’ve tried.

One this occasion, I bought these filters and then found another on in my cupboard. So used that before opening this new box. When I came to get another, I noticed that the box looked like it had been opened before but was glued down everywhere (i failed to notice this when they were delivered as I just put them straight in the cupboard. When I opened it, there was only five filters rather than the six I had paid for. Unfortunately I have just realised I’ve missed the return window by 4days. A little bit cross as these are by far the most expensive filters.

NOTE FOR FUTURE: Check contents when they arrive rather than waiting till you need them just in case.

Having said that filters are decent quality and last approx 1 month (used twice a day on adverage) Towards the end of the month I can notice that they are coming to the end of there life.

Decent Quality, Check box 1 missing!

What can I say about these filters? I’ve used them since the Maxtra first came out and just buy the pack that offers me the best price per filter when I need them.
I use the jug with a meter on the top which shows me when to replace the filter which I think is the best way to do it, though you can tell when the filter is coming to the end of its life because you start to get traces of scale inside your kettle.
Though hard water possibly makes stronger tea and coffee, filtered water makes much them clearer with no scum on the top. It also removes any unpleasant taste which you can get from unfiltered tap water.

Brita is always good. Decided to invest some more money into the new filters and a bigger container after getting new glass kettle. I was shocked when I’ve seen boiling water which was milky in colour rather than clear. I had to descale my new kettle after a week! Now, when boiling tap water previously filtered through Brita, it is perfectly clear and coffee and tea tastes much much better. The small jug we had in the kitchen got the new Brita cardridge and will be use to filter the water for the kettle. The new big Brita container will be useful for filtering and chilling the drinking water. The only downside to this container is the opening on the top lid as I find it extremely hard to slide it to open and also the tap which could be slightly more forward (linger). Still highly recommended.

Always the best but opening hard to slide.

I have used a water filer for years I have used a Brita most times. But i found the filers got expensive so I tried the ones that are not Brita as they are cheaper. And they did the job just as good and they saved a lot of money over the years. But I had to buy a new one this time as it was passed it sell by date fail on the top was not working .So I brought a new one which came with a Brita filter in it.When that ran out I put one of the cheaper filters in but it would not work .When I took it out I found out that Brita had changed the filters they had made the new product a plus so it was bigger and they had changed the bottom of the filters some that the cheaper ones don’t work.So I hope the company that makes the cheaper ones soon make one the same I also found out to my cost. That the little dail that broke on my old one I found one on Amazon after I had brought a new Brita I could have got a dail for a couple of pounds you live and learn.

The latest design of the Brita water filter makes it much easier to remove the filter went spent, as you slip your hand underneath an area which lifts up and feels very firm and allows you to lift out the filter with ease as opposed to the old method where you had to lift up a plastic pull loop which sometimes broke off and made it very difficult to remove.

However, over the years the Brita filters have become noticeably slower to filter the water. I used to have this problem with an old make I used to use, and swopped to Brita filters which were really speedy. You didn’t even have to agitate them in water beforehand and there was no problem with the filtering of the water. Not so now as you can spend up to 10 minutes agitating them and removing bubbles and they still don’t filter well. I can only imagine that they are using a similar system to the old make of cartridges I used to use.

They are very good as regards the taste of the water and do last well, and the filtering carries on at the same slow speed and doesn’t stop filtering as some people have reported.

I shall probably carry on using them but I do wish they would address the issue of the slow filtering.

Living in a hard water area I use the Brita Maxtra+ to filter water for use in my iron, kettle and coffee maker as well as making up squash. The filters can be very expensive but when purchased as a bulk buy, as with this item, they are considerably cheaper. Since starting to use these, nearly 2 years ago, I have had to descale my household items less often (every 2-3 months rather than monthly).

I have not particularly noticed a difference in taste with my tea/coffee but this is probably due to the fact I like both to be strong with very little milk!

My wife loves a cup of Yorkshire Tea with Brita filtered water. Myself, I’m just happy for a good cuppa and don’t mind the merest hint of scale. Unfortunately, now Mrs. Pugh has us on the Brita filtered water, nothing else will quite do the job. I feel like giving a bill to my employers for introducing her to this drug of choice. However, even I am falling under the spell, which means having to buy these filters – costly, but necessary. This pack was superb value, almost the same as getting non-branded filters that last as little as half the time and now we are working from home (and I feel another book bursting out of my idiotic brain) liquid refreshment has never been so important. But, to borrow another popular advertising slogan, once you pop, you can’t stop. Now to see if I can train the dog to make a decent cup of the good stuff.

These are brilliant. Yes, they have changed and no longer have a pull tab on the top, but I don’t find it’s any more difficult to remove theses as they have a grip in the top part. I have a bad grip and can remove them with no problem. Have seen other reviewers say about these clogging within a few days. I had one do this, but I just took it out and gave it a good shake, popped it back in and it was fine after that. I’m sure it’s because they have changed the filtration materials, it’s finer, so I’m sure that’s what causes this to happen. Ingredients were changed to make them more eco friendly then everyone slates them for it. Do you want eco friendly or filters filled with non recyclable materials? Damned if they do, damned if they don’t.

Until recently I had never bothered with filtering water, being born and bread in Shropshire I am used to living in a hard water area. Recently I was given a new kettle by relative who had being staying with me, clearly dropping hints, as a Christmas present.

Gratefully received, I installed the the filter and used the kettle and could not believe the difference. Both the taste of tea mostly and coffee was transformed and so when the kettle needed a replacement I bough some more filters and hence the review!

These are good and really do improve taste the cost however is brutal high and will not be to everybody taste, excuse the pun! However If you keep your eyes peeled for discounts, they can be found on here!

So as my headline suggests, your opinion on this review is dependant on where you live and how much you want to eliminate some of taste of the water out your tap and reduce limescale etc! For me, i won’t be going back.

I got these for my maxtra tank , the big square one that sits on a shelf in your fridge (unsure if they work for other sizes but they work for the maxtra)
They are mostly okay but have had a couple of times when they seem to have blocked within a couple of weeks. This has only happened twice and could easily be down to my terrible water supply (dunno whats in it but it tastes naff! and the tank along with these filter have made my water drinkable again so i can’t complain too much.
When the last block happened i just took the filter out, gave it a shake, ran it under the tap and put it back in and this seemed to fix it , just a little strange as it never happened in the beginning when i first started using them. Anyhow i can definitely recommend, it’s a good price and for the majority work as they should. Great taste to my water again and lovely to know i’m not drinking.. well who know’s!? but yeh defo recommend..
Do arrive quickly and well packaged after ordering

The cartridges supplied worked as expected, improving the taste and removing the limescale from our tap water. The cartridges were supplied in the proper box as you would expect from a supermarket, but at a better price. In my opinion there is a slight “new cartridge” taste which is still present after the standard throw away the first 3 fills. We use our jug a lot and this taste goes after a few days, but this could hang around for a bit if you don’t use yours that often.

Overall very pleased with the Brita system it makes the water taste much better and stops the scale forming in the kettle and coffee machine. I have been using these for years and had no problems with them, would definitely recommend.

Great product - Improves the taste of tap water and removes the limescale.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI have found these filters to be very good at removal of chlorine from tap water which is by far my main reason why I didn’t drink tap water as the taste did bother me. By bringing both filtered and unfiltered water under the light there is a visible difference in the number of particles in the water, the filtered water had none floating about (these are not dangerous). I conducted a blind test to verify if the taste of the filtered water was truly better at least to me personally and I have found that in 90 per cent of cases it did. However, from time to time the water did taste sweet to me.
It is important to take a look at the latest water report of your local water supplier to check if they comply with the regulations but I think that even some store-bought water might contain contaminants the same way the tap water might.
I am glad they offer a recycling programme present in a lot of UKs local shops to take care of the used cartridges as it is important to protect the environment, that is a big plus and advantage of such a big company as opposed to other water filtering systems.
I used to buy bottled water which can rack up expenses and it does create unnecessary plastic waste I felt guilty for, now I can enjoy the water at home with great taste and fewer contaminants but also at a much cheaper price per litre.
Overall, I would recommend this product as it is trusted by many and provides a great solution to picky taste buds.

Pretty decent water filters that reduce plastic waste of bottled wate

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersProduct is easy to install, and is a basic filter yes. Nothing special about it. In my house it usually lasts just under a month. And we mainly use the filtered water to fill up the kettle. This has thus far worked extremely well and much better than water out the tap because it doesn’t leave the kettle full of scale. Which always happens in between filters when the jug is in the wash.
There is no flavour to it, i dont think anyway. Not for me. So i’ve placed 5 stars. I am however finding that the filters will have a little water in the bag before i’ve Even open up the plastic, and i don’t know why this is, or if anyone else is having this problem?
    Anyway it works fine.

They are quite a bit more expensive than the off brand non OEM filters made by Sainsburys for example. I however have a bit more faith in the Brita stuff as they are the original proponents of the clean water game.

I was a bit concerned when i opened these filters as there seemed to be water condensation on the inside of the packaging (and with moisture, comes bacteria?).

I looked up the information on brita’s own FAQs and it sounded like this was quite normal due to the high heat steam treatment process the filters go through before packaging. I’m inclined to believe they are fine. As a result of these being on sale, they were actually quite a bargain. Unsure if I would prefer these over the Sainsburys own brand stuff in the future given their expensive nature.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWe rely on this due to living in a very hard water area, Hampshire. Without these the cup of tea has a film on the top and overall looks a bit unpleasant.
Once we use these that goes and the tea looks amazing. No weird floating bits.

Also, we use the Brita kettle with the integrated filter and we very rarely have to clean it with any descaler. That alone really does show that these cartridges work very well at filtering out the impurities, especially limescale in our case.

As for taste, I have grown to like the taste of the water here after moving up from Devon. the Brita cartridges do mask any extra tastes too so that seems a bonus if you do not like the taste.

So, whilst not cheap, these do really work very well. Quality has been consistent. We have never had one that had failed on us.
They are fairly easy to setup. Occasionally you may see some black carbon type deposits floating but it’s rare really and just means you need to do one extra flush through.

Once the air is removed from within the cartridge they perform very well and process the water quickly for a good month or more before requiring replacement.

Will continue to use these for sure.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI use Brita filters for our 2 jugs on a regular basis for a few years now. These new filters seem to be just as good as the old ones. My gripe is more with the counter on the jugs as they just seem to run down every month which is fine. In our case though as we go through a lot of water, after about 3 weeks of use the difference in water taste from the beginning is noticeable and the water is not as ‘filtered’ as it is at the beginning. I understand its simply down to us using he jugs quite a lot (we filter at least 3-4 litres of water a day per jug) but it makes the timer on the jugs slightly redundant as the timer still says one bar left worth of filtering when it isnt really. Still, 6 cartridges for 20 quid is not bad and I can live with the not so filtered water towards the end of the month. Beats completely unfiltered water so no complaints.

Golden Review Award: 364 From Our UsersOne could argue that filters like this are a waste of time but that rather depends upon where you live and the ‘quality’ of your water.

By that I mean the taste and minerals which, if you are a tea-urn like my wife matters. Also I live in Norfolk where the water is from deep underground where it picks up epic amounts of calcium carbinate which furrs up anything hot with limescale practically overnight.

So, for years we have used a water filter that removes taste and chemicals such as chlorine and also reduces the limescale on our kettle to negligible amounts.

Now, I’m no eco-herbalist-homeopathic type person. I’m a marine engineer and have no issue with chemically treating the water to make it safe and on ships do so all the time. Chlorine in small amounts has probably saved more people than all the doctors in the world in modern history.

But, it does flavour the water and is noticeable in tea especially when the water authorites do a high dose. I’m not 100% sure about the latter but I know that every six months on a ship we super-chlorinate to kill off nasties like legionnaires and I cannot see why ashore similar would not be required in pumping systems now and again with the increased taste effect that will cause.

Anyway, because these cartridges have activated carbon they remove free chlorine and thus allow the tea to taste better. And I did watch some TV show where an actual expert said that filtering water is necessary for good tea, so who am I to argue.

On top of that, these filters absorb metals such as lead and copper. Not sure if copper is bad for you in the miniscule amounts you might encounter it, but lead is defo a no-no.

Actually, as an aside, copper is a brilliant sterilzer and we use copper in sea chests on ships to kill off spores. It’s also used in hospitals where hands might reside to kill of pathogens. Just for info.

Returning to these filters, I can say they are excellent. High quality and really do improve taste and perhaps improve the health of the water. The cost however is brutal. And that’s why this is a five star product on Amazon because the price I paid was with a discount on a special which worked out at a near 50% reduction on the supermaarket prices.

Still expensive but on balance worth it in my opinion.

One small thing to remember though. Because chlorine is removed from the water, anything that’s been through this filter has to be used quickly to ensure that it does not become contaminated. And of course now and again give the jug a really good clean.

Overall, a brilliant product that saves on limescale problems and makes the water taste better.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThere is evidence that particles of plastic have entered our water supplies. Using these filters for drinking, cooking and making tea goes some way to reducing the chance of plastic entering our bodies at home from tap water. Taste-wise, when drinking filtered tap water, I don’t really notice much difference; however, when making tea, the tea does taste notably better and the kettle does not fur up like it used to (we live in a hard water area). I have given 4 stars because the 1 month timer system is crude (what if I’m away from home for a week?) and cannot take into account, variations in use. I could be replacing a perfectly good filter unnecessarily! The other reason is that it is not clear what to do with the old filter (can it be recycled?). Overall though, very pleased with just a couple of minor concerns.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our Users12-pack came in original manufacturer sealed box. Perfect condition. No different from buying locally apart from the huge price difference! It’s quite likely that this seller buys just the 12-packs and then splits them up for smaller orders, judging by the feedback from buyers of smaller quantities, so if you want a complete original box like the one pictured in the listing, then I’d suggest ordering the 12-pack and then you can forget about trying to find sensibly priced Brita filters for at least another year :o)

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThey last the four weeks, but it’s just a timer, not a usage meter. So I could have just one glass in a week, or as many glasses as I could fill in a week. This is my only technical issue with them.
In reality mine last up to about halfway through the 4th week, when the water starts to taste slightly metallic again. Having said this, I use them a lot! I use water in my kettle; for my steamer, for my coffee machine, and for cool drinking water, all through the same filter – and all daily too. So as far as that’s concerned, I think get good use out of one filter. In honesty, my only actual complaint is that they could be a bit cheaper.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWe have a tap filter for water but I always had to boil the water to be able to drink it, otherwise I always had a problem with drinking it filtered. Thought I’d just try using a Brita jug with the Maxtra filter and I am please with the taste of the double filtered water! It has also reduced the scaling in my kettle, was getting lime scale very quickly after descaling the kettle each time. Hardly had a problem with limescale in the kettle for some months now.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI can’t stand the taste of the tap water in my hard-water area, so filtering is essential. I’ve been using the Brita Maxtra cartridges for years. There is no doubt they work because the difference with the filtered water is impressive. However, every time I purchase a box of these I take a sharp in-take of breath — they seem just a bit too pricey for what they are.

Golden Review Award: 41 From Our UsersThis is a great value way to buy Brita Maxtra+ water filters and as a result they work out considerably cheaper than the local super markets. This box of 6 will last for approximately 6 months as the indicator on my jug slowly counts down for a month after putting a new filter in. At this price it works out at 40 a year constant supply of ice cold filtered water from the Brita jug in my fridge which isn’t too bad really.

The water where I live tends to have a very odd taste at times, sometimes it’s slightly chemical and other times it has an almost mushroom-like taste which makes it very unpleasant to drink! Apparently the water is safe to drink as is but these filters totally transform the water and make it taste nice again.

Having used the Brita filter for several years now I would never look back and highly recommend trying one if you find tap water particularly fulsome of the wrong flavours!

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI have always used Maxtra filters, these new Maxtra plus filters are for my new Brita jug. They seem the same as the old filters, filtering good water to drink, that tastes better than tap water and keep my kettle clean.
If I didn’t use them I would have to descale my kettle once a week, so it is a must for me.
I make them last a month by only replacing on the 1st of the month but they seem to be still producing good water then so it works well.
I can never quite understand why they are so expensive?

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI wouldn’t say that water tastes “much better” with these but it filters and removes the chlorine smell/taste so guess they’re ok.
They definitely don’t last a month before the water very clearly doesn’t get filtered as well as at the beginning (taste slightly changes).

Taste changes slightly after about 2 weeks of fairly light use.

Golden Review Award: 51 From Our UsersBrita certainly are the best when it comes to water. I recently bought one of their new water filters which uses these cartridges. As I buy the bigger pack I give some of the cartridges to my mum to use on her older model which used the ordinary maxtra cartridges. They fit any water filter which uses the Maxtra cartridges. they work in exactly the same way and to be honest the water does taste very clean and pure. I would recommend them.

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersSatisfied with the new Brita Maxtra+cartridges which are compatible for most jugs. I was expecting the cartridges to be in the original manufacturers box as shown on the Amazon advert but they arrived individually in other packaging. I feel that this information should be included in the advert during the ordering process.

Golden Review Award: 95 From Our UsersThey fit well, filter at about the same rate as the basic Maxtra filters. I cannot see why the + ! I have a problem with the fact that they didn’t come in a Brita box, as shown, I had 6 filters stuffed in a cardboard box, this makes me wonder if they are what they seem and because of this I would not buy from this seller again!
