Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe purchased this after reading many reviews of various security systems and decided this would be the best fit for our needs. It’s really simple to install and set everything up and our home now feels much more secure with the cameras we have. The camera quality both day & night is really good. For complete peace of mind we went for the 24.99 a month premium package. Overall really satisfied so far.

This is an excellent do-it-yourself home security system. I received a base station, keypad, three entry sensors, one motion sensor, and two cameras in the package. The beauty of this system is that you can add additional components and customise it to your personal preferences. The system is extremely simple to set up and has been expertly designed. The base station wirelessly communicates with everything and is controlled by the app. It also has a battery backup and a 4G data backup in case of connectivity problems or power outages, which is impressive. The contact sensors work well, and the motion sensor detects humans and pets very well. The security camera image quality is adequate, not exceptional, but I can clearly see the surrounding areas during the day. The camera’s image quality improves at night, which is impressive. It has excellent motion detection and a two-way audio feature to deter intruders. Overall, this is an excellent home security system at an affordable price. There is a lot of control over how you use the system, and it works consistently enough to give you peace of mind in the worst-case scenario. To get the most out of the system, a subscription-based service is required, which should be kept in mind. The cost is determined by the monitoring plan you select. The system can be used without a subscription, but some features, such as video recording and smart home integration, are not available.

Straight out of the box(es) it was incredibly simple to install although admittedly I was slightly overwhelmed by the number of boxes at first but each one was clearly labelled with what was inside and also what to do with it, this was on the outside of each box, as soon as I noticed this I felt confident to set it all up entirely on my own. There is also a quick start guide in a folder in the box.

I had to charge the batteries for the outside cameras for five hours, but they have indicators on them to show the progress, once charged they last for around three months which is impressive. I put the cameras on charge and went about setting up the other devices.
To ease set up, each device has a button on it, you need to remove the battery saver plug from it and then go to devices on the keypad, press the button on the device and it will connect it to the system, each time the base station will tell you the device has been connected, this was extremely easy to do for each device. I had a motion sensor, two door/window sensors and an indoor camera. the door sensors are really good as they can be up to 5cms away from each other, I have really old wonky doors and the sensors sit and work perfectly around 1-2 cms apart. The indoor camera needs a plug, it’s on a USB but considering the outdoor cameras work on 3month life rechargeable batteries this was a bit of a disappointment as it also restricted where it can be placed, however it is a very good camera so this is a minor thing to overcome and it is also something I would only use if I was out, it also connected direct to my wifi via the app and a qr code.

I then downloaded the Simplysafe app while I waited for the outside cameras to charge, it was very straightforward to connect the alarm to it. I also spent some time playing around with the indoor camera which I discovered you could talk to through the app, this meant for some great practical jokes but is also a great security feature.Once the outdoor cameras were charged I connected them to the system and went about looking for the best place to put them, they have amazing magnetic connections so all you need is two small screws (provided) and they snap into place and can be removed easily to recharge. I do however find this is a small downfall as it means the camera could be easily removed if not placed somewhere hard to get to so keep this in mind when installing them.

I have so far used the whole system without signing up to the subscription services offered and I am impressed with what I get which is an alarm which will go off inside (using the base station as a speaker), the ability to see through the cameras via the app, motion detection of the cameras via the app, and the door chime, but basically apart from being able to monitor the cameras while live there and a loud noise going off if someone breaks in there is little else. For 4.99 a month I can sign up to have the camera footage recorded, this is something worth considering as it gives you evidence if something where to happen. The next package is 12.99 a month, this is for the alarm to be moniterod and a call to you if the alarm is triggered. The top package is a mere 19.99 a month, for this you get everything I mentioned in the previous two packages plus the option for the police or security guard to be dispatched to your property if an incident arises in my opinion this is superb value for money and peace of mind.

The ease of self installation and set up along with the very well priced packages makes this system an absolute must in home and garden security and I can now sleep more peacefully and go away with absolute peace of mind.

    Great produc

We’ve been using Ring Alarm for the last 5 years and it works very well but wanted to try this as I’ve seen it advertised elsewhere on TV etc.

Design and Aesthetics wise, this Simplisafe kit and base unit is a lot more pleasing to look at in comparison to our rather bland white plastic Ring kit. We’ve swapped the kit over and placed the sensors in the same place as we had our Ring Alarm and it works just as well but looks nicer.

It’s extremely easy to set up with a nice app and interface, and the keypad is great for arming/disarming too.

As with Ring, this requires a paid subscription to unlock for minor additional features + some will say it’s not worth the money but I guess it depends on how much you budget for security.

Biggest rule here is making sure you have enough of a decent setup to be an
    a) deterrent but also
    b) protection should someone try to break it.

Make your home as hostile as possible for intruders with a decent alarm system you can rely on (like this, or the ring alarm), CCTV, and whatever else you see fit.

Can’t go wrong with this! Impressed so far with a week of use

Excellent product and easy to set up. Great security and yes there are additional charges if you want a 3rd party monitoring but you should know that when researching products. Often amazed that people didn’t know that when purchasing. Have purchased additional sensors since. Highly recommended.

I couldn’t be more happier I think. Setup is easy, naming your devices, installation. Quality of camera is excellent. Checking via the phone app when ‘away’ on 4G excellent, about a 1 second delay.

I was eyeing up this one and another well known monitoring system with the yellow box however when I had to go through the motions of having someone come out to do a survey (it’s only a one bedroom flat) and was trying to sell me more sensors than was needed etc and then flawed me with the monthly fee I decided to give SimpliSafe a look as I’ve seen the ads and read review etc.

All I can say is I’m so glad I did! It’s SO simple to set up, so intuitive and easy to follow and build upon if needed.

My system come with a door, PIR and a camera as well as the control panel and the hub itself and it’s perfect for what I need it for. Camera comes on when I set the alarm to “away” mode. The apps good to but be aware you have to have the top monthly subscription to be able to use the alarm functions of the app otherwise it will only be for the camera.

At the time of writing I pay 19.99 a month for the monitoring and that gives me full access to the app! It also connects to my Alexa so I can ask her to arm the alarm too, only thing she can’t do it disarm it as it obviously needs a password.

I’ve set it up so me and my partner both have different passcodes to disarm the system so that makes it so much easier to remember.

So many options with regards to volume, if you want the hub to make a noise when door and window contacts are activated etc.

Highly recommend and you do really get what you pay for and more with this system.

The set up is easy, with step by step instructions. However, there is no option in those instructions to just have the basic service – there are 2 pay for subscription options only so I had to get that and now have to retrospectively cancel the subscription. To be honest, I feel a bit conned.

Had the system less than 24 hours but had some issues with the base unit having no sound. Spoke with their technical team and they didn’t know how to fix it jus talked me through a reset which didn’t work. Left on overnight plugged in and updated software and sound has appeared. 1 star lost for this.

Seems a well put together bit of kit at a reasonable price but feel like you need access to the app for the alarm system without having to subscribe to monitoring. I knew this before buying as I still feel the system is better than it’s competitors. See how I get on with this and will amend review if I need to at a later date.

Really pleased with this purchase. We had an old wireless alarm which was always temperamental and required constant maintenance. So far this has been so easy to install and set up. I told the wife I needed a few hours to set it up, but it took around 20 minutes and the quality is top notch. Have already recommended to family.

Out of the box, this product works amazingly. It is literally ‘plug and play’ with no technical skills needed. I did have one issue with getting the system to sync with Simplisafe Central but this was resolved by one of the support team who were super helpful. You do notice that this is a US based company and the UK side of it is still fledgling, but I am sure this will get better with time. People grumble about the cost of the remote monitoring service, but I look at it like this, it is a third of my annual house insurance and probably a lot more useful.

We brought this after a break in my home. I get so unsafe but the security system has made such a difference to me and my family. I feel safer, it’s easy to install and you can pay an additional 19.99 for remote monitoring. I think it’s an excellent price of kits well worth the price.

Easy to install and does exactly what you need, visibility on the camera detection is very clear, and love being able to talk to my husband who uses it in his unit at the press of a button we bought the siren bell as an add on and it’s very loud

Very easy to install, and in all an excellent all round package.
The sensors you can stick up with the included adhesive strips on the back, however I found the heavier sensors like the alarm siren the adhesive won’t hold it for long, but all the sensors have holes you can screw into the wall for extra security. The subscription isn’t required for a basic system but well recommended, I can keep an eye on the status, get alerts on my phone and have the piece of mind that if I am not at home the monitoring service will dispatch the police if I’m not there

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersLengthy review but worth the read if considering this product!!!

Great product, really does home security very well and the camera has a great picture both in night and day mode when installed correctly. If it flashes between modes there is about 1-3s before it focuses again.

Installing it was no issue at all. Very easy battery was already installed and just had to pull the plastic tag. Only thing is the camera has a 3m cable, I purchased my own 5m cable (maybe this is something they can consider for future) because I used the sticky pads (spares they give you and attached it to my wall at a angle just above the door frame. All devices have a reset button and you use the keypad to connect everything and it’s easy!

The system has never went down on me yet nor the camera and the service team are great if you have any issues.

    Here’s the cons;
1 – the app is useless unless you pay for the full package. That means disarming it, arming it, adding pins remotely, changing settings, RECORDING!, PLAYBACK, etc are NOT available in the FREE package.

2 – The full package is expensive, 19.99 a month. For that I must admit they offer a fantastic service, the app is brilliant, the staff are friendly and helpful. The system works fantastic! But I do feel the package is geared for a business and not a personal home.

3- The mid range package is cheaper but it misses some key features. So maybe you can compromise on this?

I feel they could do better to offer a better home package with reasonable pricing. I would recommend this product and just know that unless you buy into the service you have a wireless alarm that will set off the siren BUT WILL NOT alert you via app or anything, you must subscribe to their service for remote notifications via the app.

Got the 13 piece set up from Amazon at an excellent price. Box came and was very impressed with how well made everything looks to be. Very ‘Apple’ like so not a bad thing at all. Took longer unwrapping everything than actually fitting it. It’s very simple and the instructions are clear. Had it a few days and everything is as advertised. Gone for the Premium Plus with monitoring and at 19.99 a month its a no brainer. Feel much safer now it’s fitted and would definitely recommend to anyone.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersThis seems like a really decent bit of kit with lots of things included and meets our needs well. It was so easy to set up and everything seems to be working really well up to now. It really does seem like a great product and we are pleased we got it (so far!) However, there are SO MANY hidden costs and I don’t think these are set out very clearly at all. The basic plan is pretty much useless to anyone who is buying this so you need to get the premium one but then you also will be liable for additional costs if a guard is called out and need to call to opt out of this. I guess that most systems have these subscription fees etc but they just aren’t all that clear and I do think it preys on people’s insecurities and lifestyles a bit by making the features you actually need part of the premium subscription.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this Simplisafe alarm system after a lot of research and it is definitely worth the time I took.
Really easy to set up in minutes, adding additional sensors, siren and cameras is a doddle. My entire house and detached garage are now fully protected.
I also signed up for the optional monitoring service and this works great as well.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone considering an alarm install

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersEasy to set up with plenty of removable double sided tape locations on each device/sensor.
Really easy to synchronise all device/sensors on entry pad.
Suggest you place all sensors before starting synchronise as it lists each and everyone really quickly, made me rush around a lot.
Alarm is a doodle to work, instructions are clear and concise.
And instead of a very annoying beeping that gets faster as you are trying to leave as on ADT you get a minute countdown instead.
The bargain of the pack is the camera, good quality and live on mobile even when I am out at work.
The only downside to it all is that you only get 1 motion sensor per order.
I have 2 entrances so it cost me 30 to get another one.
The 13 pack order would have had too many unused items to be viable.

I don’t normally leave reviews but I felt this was deserving I have been looking for a home security system for a while and have looked at so many but I kept coming back to this one, the ease at which it’s set up is incredible, the quality feel of the parts is reasuring two hours after starting it was all set although I didn’t trust the adheshive pads on the motion sensors after all if one of those falls off while armed you could end up with a false alarm call, the system its self works well as a stand alone but this really comes into it’s own when signed up to one of simplisafe monitored plans they start at 12.99 for a standard plan and the pro plan is 19.99 it sounds a lot but what your getting for that price it’s pretty good ,fully monitored 24/7 peace of mind.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersHave had an old, wired system for years. A relic from another age.

Saw a review on the SimpliSafe system and decided to go for something much more modern.

Really impressed with the system so far. Easy to install. The packaging/branding is awesome (I’m a Designer so always hyper-critical about that kind of thing). The support is really top-notch.

The SimpliCam was a little glitchy for the first couple of days but I think I’ve found the best WiFi settings for it now and it seems to have settled down.

Like I mentioned, the items included in the system look stylish and modern, and the app is clean, and simple to use.

Back to the support. Called up on my first day using the system and requested my 1 month Free of the Pro subscription. Was told it would be added. It wasn’t. Called support the next day a little upset and the lady there apologised for the mistake and gave me 2 months Free as a way of saying sorry. That’s how you do customer support right! Really impressed with that kind of support.

    Great product. Even greater support.

I ordered this home security system for additional safety in my household. I previously heard good things about SimpliSafe so decided to give this ago!

Product comes packaged superbly by the reputable brand, with some easy to follow instructions.

Initially I thought this could be slightly difficult to set up although all of the different components was easily set up within an hour.

Without paying the monthly subscription the security system is limited to say the least. Although upon paying the subscription you will be enable more features allowing the security system to be much more secure and provide a more beneficial experience of the product.

This was the type of system I was going for. 24/7 security throughout the house.

I think the price of the security systems is actually reasonable as there is many different components all to achieve a higher level of security throughout the house. Very well made high quality piece of technology.

Overall this product meets all the expectations although be wary, if you are not willing to pay the monthly subscription this product is probably not for you. Without doing so it really would not be meeting my criteria of what I wanted from a security system.

    I would recommend this product.

If you want an smart alarm with 24/7 professional monitoring and you’re happy to pay a subscription then this is the one for you. It’s a great alarm with high quality parts and is super simple to install. A multitude of additional accessories are also available so you can really expand what the alarm can do. I really like the keypad on this alarm, it beats the pants off my Yale one in terms of looks and functionality.

If you just want a smart alarm without monitoring but don’t want to pay a subscription fee, then I’d look elsewhere and go for something else like the Yale Sync alarm or something. The reason for this, is that without paying the subscription, the features this alarm offers are very limited and it’s no longer what I would call a smart alarm so make sure you really think about what you need before you decide whether or not to go for this.

In terms of the subscription packages, compared to the other alarm companies who offer similar monitoring, SimpliSafe is actually really well priced and will save you more money in the long run. So if you need an alarm with professional monitoring including police response this is hands down the one to go for. If you don’t need the monitoring, I wouldn’t choose this.

Great alarm but only worth it if your planning on getting the subscription.

A very good system. Easy to install and appears to do everything it claims. One word of warning is do not trust the sticky pads as the only form of fixture for the sensors. In the first week we have had six instances where some of the sensors have fallen off from various surfaces. Luckily all occurred whilst we were at home and the alarm was unarmed. If it had occurred whilst we were out it would have resulted in a false alarm. If you are paying for the monitoring it would result in a call out charge. Screws are supplied with the kit and I strongly recommend they are used

This is a great security system; it is very simple and easy to set up!
Comes with choices of screws or 3mm tape to put up the sensors. The keypad was relatively easy to set up and connect to the sensors and home base. It lights up at night when it senses your hand on it without even pressing the actual button.
    You can have multiple passcodes.
The alarm sound is very loud and you can change the volume on that.
You can change the duration of time before the alarm itself will go off which is nice if the keypad is not placed right near your door.
It tells you if a door was left open, and you can set it to make a noise every time a door is opened. Connected the camera, easy setup over the Wi-Fi.
The only reason I don’t give it five stars is they updated their firmware a little while back that now gives an annoying “No link to dispatch” warning (audible and visual) if you don’t subscribe to their monthly monitoring.
Oh yeah, there is a monthly subscription available for extra features.
Other than that it’s a great product.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis home security set by Simplisafe has all the beginner essentials for protecting your home. It comes well presented and all the parts have a modern minimalist style which will compliment most home decors.

The set includes the door entry detection unit, the base station, the keypad and the camera. It also comes with a sign and plastic stake to place in your front garden or at the property boundary to warn potential intruders off.

The door sensor works as expected and is a very small, discreet and fairly simple bit of equipment. The bass hub is very reminiscent of other models of smart home hubs and has a stylish lightweight design. The keypad is a bulky device but is wireless, sophisticated and works very effectively.

The star of the set is the HD camera which features night vision, motion detection, and a microphone. It is a compact device that looks impressive and could act as a deterrent to burgers as much as a detection device.

All the pieces of this kit individually are well made and efficient but the real value of this security system is the use of the items together as well as with the optional subscription to the professional monitoring service. This service is what sets this system above and beyond what most other DIY home security systems can offer, but of course it comes at an extra cost.

Without the professional monitoring option, this set is, in my opinion, a little highly priced as you could find the equipment included elsewhere individually for lower prices. However, this brand is excellent quality and for better peace of mind in the home, it is worth the investment.

I hope you find this helpful.

I am very pleased with this basic SimpliSafe security kit. Although this is the standard version which comes with 4 pieces, it is still very efficient and provides the security I need around the house.

The setup process was very easy, I just needed to follow the instructions on the booklet provided and ended up with every piece up and running as expected. I then run somw testing yo make sure everything was functioning.

There are different modes but the most important one is the away mode which ensures security, with the sensor and camera monitoring movement and potential dangers in our absence.

This system is compatible with Alexa and othet assistants. It unfortunately requires monthly membership for us to benefit from the full security packages and live support in case of emergency. The monthly payment is optional but really important if you want to enjoy full security. I wish it was cheaper but it is still justified.

I would recommend this basic kit for small houses like one bed flats. It is ideal for a small property with one entrance door.

Ideal security system for small homes

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am always scared of technical stuff and take my time setting things up. This was very very easy to set up though, it’s gotta be among my favourites of anything high-tech so far.
Instructions are great once you download the set-up guide. The app is called ‘simplisafe’ and gives you decent step-by-step instructions (they must be easy for me to understand!). A code reader is good to have on your phone but if not go to google playstore and search it up there. It installs very quickly and then you set up an account with email and a password of your choice, there is a contact number right the way through the process in case you get stuck. I had to verify my email and then it was just a matter of activating the equipment.
The base unit is attractive and fairly unobtrusive. It lights up when activated. There is also a keypad for helping set up and keying in your alarm code. Also a very simple process. You connect to your wifi (a thing that also scares me but again was very simple, the machine did everything!) and then it recognises and adds anything needed. it recognised the base straight away and found the camera in about 20 seconds.
You can watch live straight away at anything your camera is pointed at, the picture is very clear, although i have yet to see night vision.
The base has its own plug but can run off risidual power (the unit told me this when i unplugged it!), the whole thing , including camera talks to you all the way through set-up process, letting you know when it has been activated, or recognised.
The lead for the base unit is a decent length, aproximately a metre and a half.
The camera also has a lead with usb plug at the end, you can plug the usb directly into a pc or laptop if need be. This lead is great as its about 3 metres (10 ft) long.
After the initial set-up is done you are then asked (via the app) which plan you would like. This is about monitoring of your system, where you will be notified of motion/intruder etc. this is the part where i fall down in my review.. i found it very difficult to find out pricing for the monitoring and i wasn’t prepared to just press ‘okay’ so have yet to access the monitoring side of the equipment. I also wanted to wait until i know how good the night vision is before commiting but did manage to find out the basic price seems to be about 15 per month. To my mind this is very steep but i have not done this before where i have needed to spend out on monthly payments for a subscription, not when it comes to home security. If the service is anything like the rest of this product then i would say if you can afford it then go for it, it all seems quality stuff.
On my budget i’m afraid i will have to settle for without subscribing but its still a good piece of kit without it. so the choice really is down to whether you want to pay monthly.
I would definitely say it’s worth looking into more. The overall product is excellent. The customer service and constant feedback via email is first class and it does state in email quotes there are no commitments or need to worry about cancellation, you are free to sub for as long or as short a time as you wish.
    Overall i would recommend.
I will update further with night vision info but felt i had to review asap as it does seem a very good product.
No glitchiness with the app either.
It arrived very well packaged and on time.
I hope you find this review helpful.

very easy set-up but needs subscription for 24 hour monitoring

So this is a very good security system if you are willing to pay for a monthly monitoring subscription. The camera quality is just amazing. However the only thing it’s good for if you do not want to pay is to see the live camera on your phones. You can’t use the alarm or home hub without the subscription neither can you record. So I would say it’s a 10/10 if you want to pay for the 24 hour monitoring.

Good quality works very well but you do have to pay to use it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis arrived well packaged. I highly recommend you follow the instructions. I was very impressed with how good the sensors are. To use this to get the full benefit you will need to pay a monthly fee. Without the monthly fee it can be used as a basic alarm.

When this arrived I was not sure what to expect regards to how well the system will work, Upon installing and testing I am really impressed with how easy it is to set up.

The instruction manual is very simple to follow and adding each device took hardly anytime at all, I installed one door sensor on my backdoor and the camera in my front room, The quality of the camera is great which is needed when using any images for evidence in the result of a incident occurring. I tested the door sensor by opening the door once I set the alarm and after the delay time had been a siren sounded which was very loud, these settings can be adjusted on the control panel.

The app means you can be alerted of any breach which is excellent, However to be able to use the 24-7 monitoring and dispatch you do need to purchase a subscription.

Overall I am very impressed with the added security now on my home and feel this is great value.

Excellent system but for full benefits subscription needed

This home security system arrived as expectedly well packed with good easy to understand instructions.
On setting up it is important to read the instructions first before jumping in. Things are not difficult here but set up does follow a set pattern so important to add each component in the order the instructions suggest. Once set up the camera quality is better than I had expected. Excellent in fact. To control the system at the most basic level there is a free app for a smartphone that can be downloaded. Without a smartphone if say wish to use Google or Alexa then there is a monthly fee to pay to give all the benefits. It is important to do this. So to sum up this security set is easy to set up, with well made components, if read instructions carefully I find it simple to pair all the cameras, base station and sensors together, good no need to pay contract for very basic cover. But please note that will need to pay for the monthly service to receive the full benefits of what this system offers. This isn’t advertised well that a fee needs to be paid so please note before buying.

This is an customisable security system which adapts to your particular needs. To start with, you can choose the number of sensors to match the number of entry points into your home. These include windows.

These get linked to the smartphone app which sends you an alert immediately if there is a breach.

The camera is good quality HD which is important for tracking down people who have fled the scene.

There is the option to upgrade this so you get continuous remote monitoring and if you have Alexa already she can be engaged to support as well.

But even without these options this still gives me peace of mind and remains a really good security system- so you are not held hostage to a subscription and I am happy with what I have got while still mulling over whether I should go the whole hog.

It took me about 45 minutes to link everything together and get it up and running.

There are a lot of security systems out there and so a lot of competition. This Simplisafe one is good for it’s flexibility, adaptability and price and should be on your list of finalists if looking for a proportionate flexible and economic option.

Great alarm system which is pretty responsive to alert me when it goes off.

This kit has a good set, with extra sensors which most sells as additional extras, indoor camera and motion sensor.

Following instructions it was easy to set it all up and ready for action.

The sensors are good and alarm went off straight away when I put to test.

The camera quality is very clear HD quality and I can instantly view and monitor.

The whole set is white which is great as it blends into my white walls.

Best thing is the alarm is connected to wifi so it alerts me on my phone instantly with the contrac

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI’ve had this system in the USA and UK. There is a doorbell cam coming soon to the UK. There is basic Alexa features via the skill and hope they introduce Show and Fire TV options.

The subscription opens up lots more features although not needed to operate via a simple app.

Lots of add ons and will become popular in the UK very soon.

Easy to install. Excellent all round
