Well, a cracking bit of kit for a very reasonable price I have to say. In fact it would be hard to beat this for value vs quality if you need a belt sander, frankly.
The name ‘Jellas’ is hardly one to have tradesmen dribbling in desire like Festool or Makita but offers instead something that is ‘fit for purpose and cost effective.’ I’ve had a look in their website and they firmly aim for the DIY market – at present anyway – but at a quality level better than what went before for the money.
Certainly, this tool I’ve bought here is really well made and the design is thoughtful with easy to use features like the belt changing system.
I would also say that I’m not a casual DIYer. I’m a marine engineer and spend most of my life working in offshore construction and ship building and on my leaves’ renovated a number of houses. I know tools and more importantly, I know when to spend money and when not too. It’s all very well buying a Hilti tool or Festool but does the price justify it? A belt sander for most people, even tradies, is not something that’s in use every day all day. Why spend more for a name then?
So, I bought Jellas which was relatively easy as I’d already had a couple of small sanders previously in my workshop. The price was exceptional given that clearly the same tool is knocked out under various names and variations at sometimes far more money.
Material quality seems to be good with the plastics being properly solid and resilient not the cheap fragile stuff made of the finest Chinesium.
In use it’s easy and relatively quiet for a large belt sander. Given the 1000w motor it does have a lot of grunt and using a very coarse grit really means you can get through some material fast. And wreck your project even faster if you are not careful.
Comes with plenty of belts of varying grit to get you going, as well as mounting brackets to turn this into a bench sander this offers exceptional value for money and good quality with it.
Great price, delivered next day with a selection of spare sanding belts, brushes and drive belt. Easy belt change, self centering, easy controls, long lead. Good weight, good ergonomics. So liked it I bought another Jellas machine – orbital sander – a couple of days letter. Between the two, I’m getting some great results really easily in pine, oak, walnut and mahogany so far. Very impressive.
We realised we could buy this for the same price as a day’s hire of a larger sander. It took a while to sand the floor in our hallway, but it worked well, and produced a great finish. I’ve then used it to sand some smaller items: it works well with a course grit to sand floors, and with a fine grit for small constructions.
I’m glad we bought this tool, it’s functional and does the job. Our vacuum cleaner hose didn’t fit the extraction port, but with a little improvisation, most of the dust got taken away fine.

Having recently purchased this robust tool, which on using for the first time, thought what a powerful tool to have. On going to change the belt, I injured my middle finger. The Lever is attached to a very strong spring and took me by surprise. Whilst this being the only downfall with the machine, it is also a point of weakness, in the material used on such a strong spring.
I have contacted Jellas, who asked for a picture of the offending point. This I duly did. Over the course of a week or so of back and forth E Mailing, I mentioned a problem with their detail sander I bought earlier on the year.
Here is what surprised me the most…..NOT only were the very apologetic to the fact that I have hurt my finger, they were very apologetic to the problems I have found.
These people, with only a few photos for evidence have not only replaced the belt sander, but the detail sander too, not even asking for the problematic units to be sent back.
I am a 74 year old guy who likes to keep his hand in with various projects, within my limitations.
In all my 60 years of working life, NEVER have I found a company so willing to replace items in such a short space of time. I commend these people 100% and will continue to use them in the future, if I’m around much longer. Great company and great service. Many thanks to the person who dealt with my problem…….HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Don’t be put off by the name if you haven’t heard of it before, this has a powerful motor and is quite heavy so you don’t need to apply much downward pressure, it can not reach right into a 90 degree corner, but is perfectly good on the roughest timbers, like sleepers, old pallet planks and the like, easy to change the sanding roll and sand delicate surfaces, nice sander.
This is a powerful piece of kit. On full power it takes some strength to control. It works well and it’s otherwise easy to use. In particular changing sanding belts is very easy and can be done in seconds. The dust extractor also works extremely wellCompared to previous models I have had. I am using it for DIY project so it will not get used every day or generally hammered however it seems to be of substantial construction and whilst I haven’t used it for a few hours I very much expect that it will last.
Wasn’t expecting much for the price but so far very impressed. Came with loads of spare sanding sheets and a spare drive belt. Loads of power. Plus the packaging was simple no extra nonsense. I am very happy
Only just purchased, tried out medium belt so far and it works well on sawn timber producing a good even finish without much operator effort. Found operating instruction clear and setting up, belt changing without problems, so far I would reccomend it.
Heavy tool so be prepared when you using it. Excellent finish and replacing a new belt is easy. I was very impressed when i stripped som external furniture. It made short work of it. I was inpressed by the ease of speef change. Great bit of kit and did the job i bought it for.

My previous purchase with slight vibration was fully refunded promptly….but I liked this sander so much I purchased a new one immediately and another one too now, just so I dont get caught short in the middle of a job in future.
I have done some really big heavy projects just now from refurbishing wine barrels too several huge oak tables….
It has performed excellently and is very powerful.
I can not praise it high enough. It is one off the best Sanders I have ever brought.
If i had the cash I would buy one of their orbital sanders as soon as I have some spare cash I think as well, to see if it is as good as this tool.

My only ‘tiny’ gripe ….it could do with a better dust bag…..
But I give it topmarks for now and I will happily review again in a few months to ensure durability.
Did what I had hoped/expected. Fairly easy to operate with simple features. Adequate capacity for the main task so far – sanding down pallet wood to a better surface for gardening type “structures”. Reckon it should therefor be OK for most other uses eventually

This belt sander is the best one I have ever owned. I have owned branded names in the past but this one is great. A little heavier than what I was used too buit its performance more than makes up for that..
Now I have had some time to review and test it I can write my real world experience on this. It’s easy to use and powerful. I’m am very impressed with the value for money. Plenty of spare belts and the performance really works well not has good power and is easy to setup and use. Value for money I would highly recommend especially for novices like me

Need to take it slowly at first and not to apply too much pressure as this machine removes surface very quickly.
I bought two of these sanders, first one was fine but gave to my sister who was also decorating and ordered another one. Second one didn’t seem to be working as good as the first order. When sanding the sawdust didn’t seem to be going into the bag attached, not sure if the item was faulty. Rang Amazon, who were fab, returned and got my money back.
I bought 2 years ago a very expensive titan sander I now wish I found this 1 instead, this sander is more powerful, faster and feels alot better, will be saving this to my favourites and buying an other one hopefully not too soon fingers crossed it lasts for a long time.
Would like to know what ‘sheerness’ means, anyway , I seem to have been lucky in that my sander didn’t have any of the wear or broken things that others have been supplied with, and I have had a few hours use out of it without any explosions or flames shooting out of it. The only grumble I have is that, even at top speed, yes! Number 6! (That’s just how i roll 😉 ) ,the belt seems a tad sluggish for my wood-removal cravings. In line with someone else’s description it looks like a tiger but eats like a pussy…..cat. With 1000W to play with they could’ve eased up on the drive gear reduction a whole lot!
You might not have heard of Jellas, but don’t let that deter you because this is a fantastic belt sander. For a start, it’s very powerful (1000w max output) making it easy and quick to sand down almost any surface. It has multiple different speed settings depending on your use case. For a sander, it’s surprisingly relatively quiet, which is great and it’s pretty good at collecting dust. Definitely recommended if you use a sander in your line of work.
The sander is very solid as mentioned and does an extremely good job. What has prompted my review is that after a few days use, it just stopped working completely. I reported the issue to Jellas via the email address on the warranty card and they responded immediately. Within a few days a replacement sander arrived, no fuss and they haven’t even asked me to return the old one (which would have been expensive considering the size and weight of the package). So top marks there – and they have even followed up to see if I’m happy (I am!). The sander even comes with a replacement belt and motor brushes to prolong its life – that’s impressive.
Strongly recommended and I’ll be looking out for Jellas products in future

Well worth the money, arrived with 12 loops of sandpaper. Variable speed is very handy, weight is on the heavy side but not a problem. All in all a nice piece of kit.
Very easy to use . Works well almost no dust so good for inside. One belt last quite long. Comes with 12 belts. I am Not a professional but i liked. So easy and straight forward.
What an amazing tool, I used this non stop for at least 6 weeks and for at least 4 hours per day. Sturdy and robust, easy to handle and changing the belts was an easy process. Completed my project in good time and well impressed with the end result. A result that would have taken so much longer with a traditional sander.
The sander itself is very heavy and has certainly got some power behind it I tried it on my decking and I can’t believe how good it was it did the job in half the time my little sanding mouse would’ve done I thought the sander itself was very sturdy and easy to use following the instruction manual

I built a bench last summer but never got around to sanding it!!! Went to get my sander out last week and ahhhh the shed flooding had ruined it!!!
So stuck in isolation I thought I need to finish this off! But no sander … So bought this one in a whim!!
No regrets!!! This half the price of my last one but is just as powerful and easy to use!!! Great part too it takes the most common sized sanding sheets!! So was able to use the ones I’ve already got!! (Inc the ones that came with it!)
The belt sander is a handy peace to have in your garage, it’s easy to use and gets the sanding job done easy

The only reason I have not given 5 stars is I haven’t had it that long but it did a good job on the hallway floor.

The 1000w motor makes light work of any material. And the quick change of the belts is very easy.
My belt sander broke down and this is doing a great job.
Now I have had some time to review and test it I can write my real world experience on this. It’s easy to use and powerful. I’m am very impressed with the value for money. Early days, but so far it’s been good. Hope it lasts long enough to finish my canal boat. Seems a good quality product.
