his is a cordless circular saw from bosch, it’s a product in “bosch 18v power for all” line, so it works with any “18v power for all” battery; in this set there is a 18v 2.5ah battery and charger included, they are compatible to all power tools in the line

the actual saw is quite compact in size, good for advanced home diy, i ordered it for cutting quite a few shelf board made to measure for shed use

it has a 160mm saw blade that has a max 53mm cut depth, much more than enough for shelve boards

quite easy to operate, but first you will need to learn how to use a circular saw from online video, you will need to set up a guide rail (not included) if you need to have a long straight cut along the edge; there is a parallel guide included, that could still work if the cutting length is shorter, not even need a guide when i just use the saw to cut narrow boards or trim down stripwood

all in all, this is a very handy tool to keep at home, very good performance for any home diy projects, i’m very happy with it, would recommend

This cordless circular saw arrived well packaged in a sturdy Bosch cardboard box.

The first thing I noticed was the weight. Even with the battery installed it’s lighter than my mains powered circular saw.

The blade diameter is 160mm which is smaller than my 190mm mains saw so the maximum depth of cut is less. It has all the usual adjustments for cutting depth and angle and there is a sliding cutting guide for trimming boards. The rear of the blade guard incorporates a plastic angled piece for attaching a vacuum cleaner.

I had to lay some loft boards and this saw was ideal for this as I didn’t have to run an extension into the loft to cut the boards to size. I’ve also used it for trimming some fencing panels in the garden and its light weight and the fact that it is cordless allowed me to move around the garden with it quickly and efficiently.

Battery life isn’t bad but I have several Bosch garden tools that use the ‘Power For All 18V’ system so I have plenty of batteries. The charger supplied with this is the small type that slides onto the battery. It doesn’t seem to charge the battery as quickly as the large type of chargers that came with the garden equipment.

I haven’t had this saw long enough to comment on its long term performance or durability but I’ll update this review if there’s anything to report but if it lasts as well as my other Bosch tools have I’ll be happy.

This is a really handy saw that’s quite expensive but you’re paying for the usual Bosch build quality. I doubt it would be up to daily use by a professional but it’s perfect for DIY. My only real criticism is the fact that it’s only supplied with one battery. This isn’t an issue for me but if you’re doing a big job and only have the one battery it would be very frustrating waiting for it to charge before you could carry on and because of this it loses a star.

4.0 out of 5 stars Light, Convenient to Use but Should Come With a Second Battery

Just to make clear from the outset, this version of this Bosch Cordless Circular Saw comes complete with a power pack, which can be used with other cordless power tools from the Bosch range. This saw is also available to buy without the power pack, if you already own a suitable one that can be used, otherwise you will need to buy one separately.

I am not one of the world’s greatest DIY enthusiasts, but when I do a job I like to make sure that it is done well. That being the case, I always try to make sure that I buy good quality tools that are up to the job, but without requiring me to take out a second mortgage to purchase the sort of kit that only a professional tradesman would really need. I am a big fan of the Bosch brand and have found that their products consistently tick the boxes that I need them to … quality that is up to the job, but without being needlessly expensive.

This cordless circular saw is another example of the Bosch brand coming up trumps.
It is straightforward to use. There is a clearly “V” on the leading edge to aid with alignment, so you don’t go cutting along the wrong track.
I found that the saw cuts easily and even coped with some quite narrow strips close to the edge.
The cutting depths are also accurate.
I am satisfied with the power level – a professional may want something with more grunt, but this is certainly up to the demands of the kind of jobs that I am ever likely to undertake.

In summary, I would say that this is a great circular saw for the casual DIYer and performs better than you might expect for a product in this price range. You could pay more, but if you just want something that can be relied upon to do the job, why would you want to?
I hope you find these comments helpful.

The saw itself is fine, ok, it could have a brush less motor, rather than brushed, but otherwise it does its job. It cuts without issue, there’s a little side rail, as you’d expect. You could add the compatible guide rail to get the best out of it.
I’ve knocked off a star simply because, it comes with a rather small, single battery (18V but only 2.5Ah). If they’d thrown in a second battery, it would be more viable. The charger could be better as well, pet hate of mine, those chargers that have the transformer in the plug, a weak cable, then a little clip on thing, that attaches to the battery. That’s exactly what they supply with this kit. A proper docking charger is always going to top this feeble style.
Even a bare unit approach would have been better, but would need to be sold at a lower price. Then you decide your battery & charging options.

The price with the inclusion of the charger means me wishing there was a bit more of a charger. Feels very DIY having such a small thing with a thin wire. Maybe I’m just too used to another brands charger that I use for another tool. It works and charges fairly quickly considering though.
The material quality is typical good Bosch quality. All the functioning is good too. Very easy to use, not an overload of things to work out and use common sense if you forget what does what.
Reasonably good speed for this price point. The blade is good though but it’s not the absolute best you can get. Will do typical cuts but obviously more teeth with do a better job than the 24T you get here. I do use other Bosch blades for a jigsaw though so it’s pretty much on par quality wise. Doesn’t seem to blunt too easily either.
For making rough cuts it will do the job but I’d suggest not using a guide and creating a bit of a custom fit base plate to make sure those cuts come out cleaner if you really require it. Obviously do this at your own risk, it does require modifying the base plate.

Easy to hold and control as much as any other circular saw I’ve used. Buttons can sometimes feel a little less than you might want in a tool but they don’t have issues working and it’s a bit of a subjective thing.
No laser guide though so more for general DIY/home use, which is what this is marketed at. For those typical jobs it does pretty well at that.

A good package and the battery lasts enough for most jobs but for heavier use you would need a bigger battery.

Pretty good suction for clearing out the wood as well and the blade guard does a good job.
Nice to see a rudimentary edge guide as well for when you know things are straight and need to trim down. Secures well and is straight forward to insert and take out.

Overall, a pretty good package altogether, it’s not the best of the best, but for general trusted use, Bosch do a good job and I don’t have possible failure in mind that other cheaper brands can give you. I’m always expecting my other tools to just randomly give up. At least here there is some trust and brand warranty you can rely on.

Bought this for cutting large lengths of ply. Works well but does cause splintering of the edges. Probablly should have bought a finer blade and thats my fault.

Use the battery for in from my Bosch drill, thats a nice feature. Only downside is when i try to remove the battery it is on tight, and very hard to remove, and i thought i was strong.

Have been using this now for more than a month. While it cuts through most, at times it feels like the saw needs more power. Anyways, for my cutting through chip board and laminates, it did the job fine.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis saw is flimsy with only a rivet for the rear pivot. When new this will usually be OK for general cutting but is likely to get loose as time goes on. Also, there is quite a bit of flex in the base plate.
The zero degrees tilt adjustment markers are not easy to determine as they aren’t clearly marked.
The transparent plastic alignment tab on the front of the soleplate is a great idea and aids setting up.
The saw is fairly quiet and has a good ebrake that is almost instant.
Switching on is fairly ergonomic and is appropriately safe with the two-sided lockout switch.
Economical use of battery power is a good feature too.

The guide at the front is not in line with the blade which makes it difficult to be accurate when cutting. I bought this as a present for my partner. Would replace with another of this product. But it does work but just be aware of the above issue.

Bought this as on offer and I already had a drill with 2 x batteries that also fit this. Note it doesn’t come with batteries. Cuts through ply without difficulty. Definitely not as powerful as my mains saw, but I wouldn’t expect it to be.

Light enough to be easily used, very nice product and the quality is very good. I really like that is wasy to use and you cna have a good view at the blade when your doing the cut. Lovely product.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI needed a circular saw for a number of projects and as I already had a Bosch drill that took the same batteries, and I had two batteries, I eventually decided to purchase this after reading many reviews. Honestly, it was a genuinely hard decision as I was initially sceptical of the battery thing, but swayed by how well the drill has lasting on a charge.

    I needn’t have worried.

The quality of the cut and the ease of using the tool over long cut runs without worrying about cables has really impressed me. I’ve not seen any of the little issues that others have reported. I’m also impressed with the guide rail. it tightens easily and genuinely runs smoothly, which is more than I can say for my old circular saw.

As a final note, Bosch do an extended warranty if the device is registered within four weeks of purchase.

All in all, I’m rather pleased.

I like this light easy to use saw. Good for DIY but not heavy duty enough for trade use. I have used this quite a bit and it is easy to manage if a bit underpowered. Even so cuts to its specifications

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI don’t really have much use for a circular saw but I had a specific job I needed to do. Given that I already had the rechargeable batteries, I went for this. It lacks a bit of torque compared with a mains powered machine, and if I were using it constantly, then I’d certainly go for something more professional. However, for occasional use, it’ll be fine for me.

Wifey unhappy with this as the connector for a vacuum isn’t supplied. Why not?
Husband designed a make-shift dust collector with my vacuum cleaner and duct tape! but at least outstanding DIY jobs now completed.

I have a few tools from this range, generally good quality and this is no exception. Easy to adjust the cutting depth, has an attachment to attach a vacuum hose and of course does angled cuts as well. Shame you can’t get a storage case for it, but other than that very good.
