Very solid feeling and the baseplate is an absolute must for us ‘animals’.

Good, positive control in Flightgear, DCS and SW Squadrons although mapping the buttons can be tricky if you’re not paying attention and the position of some of them right under your wrist isn’t ideal.
I’ve used considerably more expensive hardware and there IS a difference, but for casual or occasional use, this is great.

Definitely worth considering if you’re on a budget.

The FR-TEC Raptor Mach 2 went over my expectations made of a good build quality and easy to configure. Works really well with MSFS would definitely recommend

Was so impressed with the 1st one that I ordered 2nd one. I think this product has just got the luck of the draw on some bad reviews.

    – Accuracy of the stick is really good.
    – Loads of buttons, conveniently laid out
    – Good weight so it’s fairly stable on its own, but is complemented well with a rubber matt, and there are screw holes if you want to get really serious.
    – Very ergonomic and easy to use.
    – No compatibility issues (windows 10), just plugged in and worked straight away.
    – Time will tell on the build quality but so far it seems really good.

About the pinky finger button supposedly not working i saw in one of the other reviews, this is a modifier button – it does nothing on its own, but it changes all the other buttons into acting like a completely different set of buttons whilever it’s held in. It threw me at first because it’s not made clear, so hope that’s helpful.

I still wasn’t so sure about the idea but after using it for a while i fell in love with it – it means you can pretty double the number of buttons available by having a set of alt functions for all the other ones – much more useful than one single button.

I have been searching off and on for a joystick I liked for 15 years. Logitech joysticks were horrible due to stiff action. This one is smooth and easy to use.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usersliked the look of this stick and price way down on what it started at~? whats wrong with it? Hummmmmm~?? slurpz, its relativly small compared to most sticks, we like that, it also looks like its out of the old commey republic era, 1940/50 ish, we likes that, the action of the stick is soft yet precise, rearranged the centres to zero dead zone in X12 and MSFS,,,,,,zzzzzzzzz, and adjusted the flight characteristics and perfect, for me any way, followed the instrustions and callibrated the stick 1st in windows? Why? then did it again in the sims, whilst in windows the axis callibration was weird, pinky button does not work, and the change action button works as in the lights come on but the action of the buttons refuse to be doubles up, which is fine with me as I use my throttle for most operations, the action of the main axis in MSFS and X12 are better than my thrustmasters I would say, I like the softer smoother action of the stick in flight which has helped enormasly with landing/crashs, the buttons are very good in action too, dont need the throttle yet that works fine as a reverse throttle, they can all be remapped to what ever you wish but the flaps on buttons not so good, another slideing control would be far better, all in all its at a good price, aids flying/ crashing well and I would recommend it, no doubling of the buttons though and no pinky button, as stated by others, pity the throttle does not look like this stick I would buy one otherwise, 9/10 slurpz…..

Back again, puzzled by strange calibration it looks like windows has altered the method of getting this, follow the booklets instructions into devices and printers then right click on the controller and select game controller settings at the top of the list, then select your raptor mach2 from the list then go into properties and top left to settings, from there you can callibrate the stick, the throttle still is missing from calibration and the pinky button still wont light up but once you get into your flight sim the throttle is there and works fine, no pinky though, ive seen a couple of people remark on this on the net also, and you cannot change the action of the buttons with the mode switch either, the mode button appears to work fine and the light goes from red to green and back but the buttons stay the same? possibly arm2 needs an update? not a problem for me, I am really impressed with the action of the stick, and its responce to senseativity changes in both MSFS 2020 and X plane 12, still recommended……..

The plot thickens, this stick appears to be either a copy of the early VKB Gladiator stick, it looks identical, or its the original stick which im tending towards, the tiny instruction booklet is as clear as mud but looking at vkb moaners of the time, on the net I came across mention of the shift button which I had failed to see in the fr-tec booklet, now I can see it, B16 = shift, if you press the fire button in windows test programe the red light for button 14 lights up, if you press the pinky button or as I know know it the shift button nothing appears to happen, but still holding the pinky button press the fire button and 15 lights up so pinky button is a modifier within the arm32 processor, which you should now be able to remap in MSFS, DGS, X12 etc etc, but!!!!! how to access the second bank of modified buttone? so far not finding that from the past, you will also see if you look that the Cobra V6 is visually identicle to both the raptor and the vkb, is it the same or a copy, again I believe they have just rebranded the logo name, no problem, its still a good stick, borderline great stick, I tried my thrustmaster airbus stick last night which I was using quite happly and it now feels all wrong, and thats a good stick too, cant find a maching throttle and dont like current offerings, think I will mod an air bus one??? Slurpz……..

I’ve bought some peripherals in my many years of gaming. Controllers, wheels, sticks, and this choice has been one I am most impressed with cost and value for money. Aligned with the mk 1 throttle it works exactly as I want and feels very weighty. I could have spent more but am happy I didn’t. I plan to update the rest of my package but this is the best buy so far.

I got this stick mainly for use with Elite Dangerous.

I looked at several sticks including several more expensive HOTAS setups before choosing the Raptor Mach 2 which I’m using in conjunction with the Raptor Throttle control.

This stick is just what I wanted, a fairly simple stick with plenty of buttons at a price I could afford with no convoluted software to install or flashy gimmicks and christmas lights .

The stick has got a fairly hefty feel to it with a nice heavy metal base, and although the rest of it is made from lightweight plastic it feels robust enough.

In use the stick feels accurate and responsive (enough for my needs anyway, some people might be more fussy but I didn’t notice any obvious issues). The buttons all feel nice and have a satisfying click to them, they are also nicely layed out – not too crowded and easily accessable, it might have been nice to just have one or two more on the actual stick itself as most of them are situated on the base, but it’s no big deal.

The only slight niggle I really have is with the hat control as it’s situated in such a way that makes it a little awkward to press right.

I’ve seen some people are having problems with the twist action rudder controls, try calibrating the stick in Windows it worked for me.

At 50 this stick is a real bargain, it might not be the flashiest stick on the market but I’m more than happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersControl feels much better then most other joystick ive used, strong build, more buttons, includes a pinky shift key and a mode button only let down is the fact that they only affect the buttons on the stick and hat, but all in all its alot better then the awful x56 stick. The hat can have three functions, 8 way directional or 4 buttons and another 4 buttons with shift and mode switched . The trigger and the top button can have 4 functions with the shift and mode switch. So the mode switch can be used like air to air/ air to ground toggle key. Only let down is the twist axis goes from zero to max with just a slight turn, needs rudder pedals to use instead.
