I already have a few Lifx bulbs so it was simple to add these strip lights to the App. Also very simple to stick the strips under kitchen wall cupboards, far easier than previous attempts which always ended up dropping off.

    Lighting effects are a bonus!

Installation would be easier if the app prompted for software update and did it before attempting to add to your system, otherwise all was O.K.

Been using LIFX since they came out and now have over 10 light bulbs of all sizes and shapes. Easy to fit and easy to use, works with alexa almost flawlessly. For some reason they need reset every now and then. They are working perfectly with home assistant as well.

I am yet to use this with my Echo or Google Home integration but with just the LIFX app alone, this device is perfect the brightness is amazing & there’s an amazing variety of option for you to choose from.

It’s very easy to set up/use within the app and works like a charm.

Would highly recommend for any room/house and is totally worth how much you pay.

    Perfect lamp… highly recommended

I decided to go with LIFX products rather than Philips Hue because they’re products are much more expensive and require a hub but you don’t really get much more for the significant extra amount you pay. This LED strip is really bright and looks amazing in all of its colours, I really like how it has multiple zones that light up different colours and you can paint each zone whatever colour you want. They well with Apple HomeKit although I had two slight issues, so you might see other reviews complaining about how they had issues with the lights just not responding and having to constantly turn the lights on/off 5 times, I think this is because of the lack of a bridge/hub. So when I originally set them up they were not being responsive half the time but I was in the process of also setting up a HomePod Mini (Apple’s smart speaker) and that automatically defaulted itself as a Home hub, after this my problem disappeared, they have now always been responsive. It also made my other HomeKit compatible devices such as my TVs responsive and actually be able to control them when I’m away, so I guess a hub has its uses. The other issue was I wanted to have it so the lights would turn off when I left my house and turn on when I arrived, but when I first set that up on the Home app on the evening my lights kept turning off then eventually turning on but to white. Now I can’t be too sure wether it was the settings specifically but it did stop after I removed the settings and I haven’t tried with them again, who knows maybe having a hub might help with that.
The app itself is very intuitive and has a fantastic layout with lots of great ways to interact with multiple products in multiple rooms, the animations and effects you can add are great along with the scenes and schedules.

I will definitely be buying more LIFX products!

I have sensitive eyes due to various factors , and I needed me a new lightbulb so I decided ; let’s go for something a bit more expensive. I’ve found the brightness on 100% way too high, naturally as this is fully customisable that is not at all a problem , if I need it low 1% is enough to see and not be too bright, and yet if I need some real oomph anywhere from 40-70% brightness gives that, the design in of itself is so very much nicer than a standard bulb – of course the price is extremely high and I hope in future such a thing is cheaper but I am happy.

Colours are bright and variations in the app allow for moving effects which are fun during a party. Only reason I don’t rate 5 star is because the wifi signal is very sensitive and requires the receiver to be placed far from any interference like other electrical cables / electrical products. Connection to apple homekit is simple as the apple homekit code is printed on the product.

Bought two, one for a high wall trim effect & the other behind the TV. Both bring great effects with a glow of your choicing.

Brighten or dim light controls also has the ability to dance to sound with music mode.

There maybe 1 or 2 things what could be added where there’s not a option for. But really not worth mentioning.

Good to go off the shelve!!! & into your home, office, etc…

Recommend to anybody who looking to shine the light.

Get creative by hiding the stripes which provides a solid glow or use accessories like a diffuser to the stripes brings a different look to Dimension effects.

I absolutely love the sturdiness and build of this product. You get what you pay for with Lifx I guess… I didn’t have any connection issues when trying to get these linked up to my wifi. The stickiness feels VERY sticky and unless I have been one of the few fortunate ones, these have still stayed put on my 55″ Q80T.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersHad major issues trying to get the light strip to work properly. The answer is to do a full reset of the light strip turning it on and off 5 times. On the fifth time of turning it on, wait. It will flash through a set of colours and end up in steady white. Then you can re-add it as a device in the app.

The software is extreme buggy, and this is simply not good enough. In my professional opinion, (as former software engineer) it should not have been released into the market. It is shoddy and unprofessional.

The bugs I have found so far: (applies to LIFX Android app version 4.10.1 (b10273), which is current release version in Android play store on 25 August 2021.

    1. Switching colours in the palete often does not work.
    2. I have 3 colours set up in the palette, one white, two pink, and where switching between white and a pink does work, switching between the two pinks which show up in the palette as different colours, doesn’t show any change in colour of the light. Explain that one!

    3. Sliding the brightness slider in the “Colours” screen stopped working and the brightness no longer changed in response to the slider.

You can get these functions to resume working by experimentation, switching between screens in the app, but it’s just guess work.

And I have only looked at perhaps 30% of the capability of the software. I haven’t even tried to do anything fancy with the lights yet, and from what I have seen so far, I don’t have confidence that is not going to be problematic. I may stay away from the more sophisticated functionality for that reason.

Software needs much more thorough testing and I would suggest code reviews by more experienced programmers.

Having said all of that, the lights are really cool, very powerful capability as each LED is individually addressable and therefore independently controlled. It’s just let down by buggy software on the Android app.

Easy to install and configure (if you have at least some tech skills). The app works well, and the illumination from these lamps is excellent. The colours are good and the white temperature can be finely controlled to suit your needs at the time.
You can also turn the lamps on/off remotely, so good to discourage intruders etc.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought on prime day. Extremely easy to set up, the app is amazing, no connection issues at all and very intuitive.
Honestly don’t know what all the complaints are about on the app store, my experience off the app has been superb, set-up and installed within 60 seconds and off you go. Loads of cool effects, set up the ‘Hey Google’ assistant in a few seconds on my phone with no issue whatsoever.
Hope LIFX sees this as the reviews on the Play Store are obviously by paid bashers and are not deserved.
Also tested out the Scheduling feature in the app for Saturday morning and it works flawlessly!
Will be buying a LIFX bulb next.

Ottimo

I found the Lifx bulbs even better then their Hue countetparts, but the app has still a long way to go to provide a good experience. There are latency issues, sometimes the app does not recognise some of the bulbs, and the controls could be more user friendly, like in the Hue app. I would definitely buy again, but they should really improve their app.

Setup is very easy after downloading the LIFX app, after that Alexa integration is very simple and the dedicated app is only really needed for advance settings.

Absolutely tons of colours to chose from, lots of colour temperatures and “mood” presets to suit all tastes. Brightness is adjustable.

No issues with connection on my dual band router though I suspect the bulb is hooked on the 2.4Ghz band only. Responds very quickly to Alexa announcements after giving the bulb a friendly name in the Alexa app – I’ve settled for lamp and added it to my living room group. I suspect google integration is equally as straight forward.

It’s worth double checking the fitting (big screw is E27!), also the bulb is slightly taller than a regular bulb to house all the electronics so may not be suitable in a tight fitting. Also worth noting that the bulb must have power all the time so any switches on the lamp becomes redundant, everything including power is controlled by voice or mobile app.

Timer options are available which is handy to save buying a separate timer, and the bulb can be controlled from anywhere in the word with an internet connection. Been reliable for me in the past couple of years of use, and I would consider this brand for other fittings given the fact no hub is required and it can communicate directly with my router.

    Fantastic bulb

I love lifx and have several of these in my house. The install can sometimes be a bit hit or miss but you get there in the end. Excellent colour range and a very good app to control them. The google assistant integration is super handy.
