Bought to replace a kenwood chef. Took a while to get used to it but love it, got a free jug and bowl with it too.

I had my original Magimix for 37 years and used it regularly. It decided it had had enough so I decided to treat my self with a replacement. Made my old one look very dated. If this one last as long and has a 30 year warranty !! I am afraid I will be long gone . But I am sure my daughter will love it .

My last MagiMix lasted 27 years – it’s still going strong and I have given it to my daughter with a new knife. I bought the larger version now because I wanted to be able to have a spiralizer.
    Highly recommended!!!

This machine is very powerful and has handled everything I’ve put through it. After washing the bowls and lid I dry them off with compressed air from a small compressor I have. Doing this blows ALL the water out of the main bowl handle and safety switch in the lid assembly. So no fear of mold build up etc.

Used a Magimix processor for the last 40 years. This one is even better than the last one. Makes working in the kitchen a breeze and with all the different attachments available there is not much it can’t do. If it lasts as long as the previous two (both have gone to new homes and are still growing strong)i shall be very happy.

So this is the second one I’ve had. The first went to the ex-wife and we had that for over 16 years!
This is an amazing product, large, yes and a little pricey but so very good. Easy to clean, all the parts apart from the base are dishwasher safe so sling it in and you are good. Plenty of attachments too for chopping, grating, slicing and dicing.
I’d buy this again in a heart beat should I need to.

After reading all reviews I was completely confused about what food processor to buy. Finally I trusted my gut and choose this model. Wow! I am not disappointed. I have made pizza doughs, salad shredded vegetable, hummus, almond butter… It is definitely quite versatile. Of course after each use there is the washing up. Unlike I have read, when using the smaller bowl or the medium bowl I didn’t have to wash all bowl. It may happen but I have shredded carrots without to wash the large bowl. It shred very quickly and so easily vegetable. Just use well the food processor and it will help you a lot for making delicious and quick meal.

This replaced a much loved but positively ancient Magimix 4100 which was still going strong except that the plastic bowls were cracking (again) and difficult to source. I had already replaced the bowls and the blades to give it a new lease of life so It was hard getting rid of it and buying a replacement.

We looked at other makes but having had mixers and food processors that didn’t last long it before buying our 4100, it had to be another Magimix.

The food processor works very well but it definitely seems a lot noisier than our old model. The blades bang and rattle about on the spindle, which I don’t recall happening so much with the old one. When using the pulse function the motor starts and stops with a very loud ‘crashing’ sound and causes the relays on my Computer’s UPS to click in sympathy with the presses of the button. Again, I don’t remember that happening with the old one.

In some ways it is better and in some ways it is worse. More versatile, I guess especially with the different sized feed chutes but that makes an awful lot of washing up when you don’t have a dish washer.

Having used a Magimix for many years I was sorry when it finally died. The new machine arrived promptly and although very similar there are several improvements. The drive shaft is stronger and the extra fitting to aid soup making is very effective. I am glad that my old juicer fits the new unit and the 30 year warranty for the motor is very comforting
All in all a better machine

Some reviews really threw me, I almost didn’t buy this and it would have been a real shame. Yes, it needs to stay on your counter top. Yes it’s pretty tall so measure and plan where you want it. Yes sometimes if grating lots of veg for our vegan pies the odd bit ends up in the bigger one but none of that would put me off this fantastic machine at all. It looks the biz, nice quiet sound, nice neat box for its good honest simple attachments, I’m very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend it.

All good. As with every food processor, once the work is done, there is a somewhat long process of washing and cleaning, but it’s just part of the game.
Sometimes, when making dough, it starts to wobble, but i think it’s ok overall.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought the magimix as there are just too many food processors (91 pages of them on Amazon) and this is the one that Jamie Oliver recommends above all others….. I got so sick of reading reviews about stuff breaking off other processors so it seemed like a better idea to pay more and get a quality item.
This processor is quite heavy and it has good sturdy rubber feet to stop it moving about. The motor works differently to other processors so it is reasonably quite whilst operating.
Like any food processor there always seems to be some bits that didn’t chop quite as small or grate at the end of the block of cheese… but it does a really good job very quickly!
The only down side is that there are 3 bowls which sit inside each other during operation (depending on which bowl you are using), so when using the smallest bowl for chopping small quantities/items you invariably seem to end up with bits in the next bowl down … and the same when using the middle bowl for grating or slicing – bits find their way down into the larger bowl. This results in having to wash the entire stack of bowls, lid and pusher (if fitted whilst using)
The other annoying issue is that you can only use the small bowl with the small cutting blade, the grating and slicing discs can only be used in the midi bowl, and the larger bowl can only be used with the large blade, whisk or dough blade – but not the slicing or grating discs…. so you need to make sure you prepare your food in the order of what you can do from top to bottom or you will end up with a bit of a mess.
I’m glad I got the 4200XL as I don’t think the bowls on the 3200 would have been an adequate size.
I would strongly recommend watching a few you tube videos to get an idea of size and of what you can do in each bowl.
It’s disappointing that the spiraliser costs an extra 112! I’m never going to pay that for a spiraliser.
All in all this is a good unit, with quiet operation and it does all the basic things you would want from a food processor, at a very quick speed (with the ability to pulse if you want a rougher chop)
The blades and spatula are all stored in a really useful box with a clear lid that rolls back.
The unit comes with a hard backed instruction and recipe book with some excellent recipes.

Fits under my high level kitchen cupboards. Not a mixer to keep getting in and out a cupboard – needs to live on the worktop really as heavy base. Works great with metal blade in largest bowls. Same for small bowl. Haven’t tried any other accessories yet. Putting bowls in dishwasher to clean – coming out okay. Washing up blade by hand for other family members safety as it seems extremely sharp.
Bought as replacement for my 30+ Year old Kenwood – so far so good

I am pleased with this product overall – I have had it a while and done a variety of things with it – pizza dough, cake mix, blending soup, grating etc. It is very efficient and the blades very sharp; they do they jobs they are intended to do with ease. It’s not super quiet, but not as loud as my old food processor. The parts are a little fiddly to wash due to the way the bowls stack and the blender attachment is a little messy to use. The blades come in a plastic box which keeps them all stored safely but takes up space in a cupboard, so be prepared to make some space! Overall, a happy customer. The magimix also looks smart on the work top.

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersI bought the Magimix in January but promised myself I would get really used to it before I wrote a review .
I owned an ageing basic food processor which eventually gave up the ghost . I think that washing it in the dishwasher which was acceptable did not really do it many favours .
I read some reviews especially the Which guide and decided on the 4200 xl . First of all when it arrived it was HEAVY . So my first point would be that this is a machine the rightly should stay out !! I don’t think lifting it in and out of a cupboard is a great idea and definitely not practical. It is a very good looking machine so it’s no hardship having it out on show . I have also found it being easily accessible for me I use it far more .
The machine is incredibly solid everything about it is quality from the firm seal on the lid to the perfectly arranged container of attachments . I am not going to bore you with the attachment just suffice to say everything is covered ! I love love the fine grater it’s superb .
On a few reviews on Amazon it stated that you had to use all the bowls together well you don’t need to have all three bowls in but biggest one and smallest can be used without the middle bowl . Now I have used my magimix for everything and have found that perhaps making breadcrumbs or nut butter you will get a few bits that have escaped the smallest bowl into the biggest one it’s minor and unless your fastidious it only needs a dry cloth to get the crumbs out believe me it is no drawback . It washes very easily, remember the blades are very sharp though . It’s easily put together and the extra box with all the blades is easily stored .
I bake often and went against all the rules and made scones in it from start to finish and they were the lightest ever . Everything I have made using the magimix has been amazing.
From my last food processor to this one is like going from a Lada ( remember all the old jokes ) to a Bentley !! This is an amazing machine truly worth every single penny .
    Superb quality .

Luxury machine with superb results .

I had one of these for 15 years, before making the bad decision to try an alternative mixer and giving my old faithful to a colleague. The replacement (a well known brand) was a disaster – nothing worked like I had been used to with my magimix. I sold it as soon as I could as I had to get another magimix. Now I am back in heaven. It does everything – mixing, chopping, grating, easy to use, easy to clean, a reliable device which does exactly what I want. I don’t need any additional devices!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve been after one of these for years, finally got it and I’m in no way disappointed. It’s quieter than any other I’ve used, does a fantastic job of whatever I’m doing. Love the tool storage box, everything in the one place. One of my main reasons for wanting it is almond butter, now I have the most creamy yummy butter ever with no grit. Definitely the best machine and love the 30 year guarantee. Oh and it looks amazing on the work top, usually I store away mixers but not this one.

    Best machine ever.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI absolutely love but it was a this and the sage one I chose this one because it is supposed to be dishwasher safe turns out they recommended hand washing and only use a low non drying setting if dishwashing it I very disappointed with this aspect I would definitely have chosen the Heston Bluemthal if I had known that,I am disabled and needed a food processor to try and keep cooking for as long as possible I can’t prepare vegetables etc. I don’t think it should be sold as dishwasher safe very disappointed with that but love the machine I think I would have loved the Heston one more

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI was very hesitant spending that kind of money on a food processor especially after reading some of the reviews here, but I took the plunge. I must say, I’m shocked by the fact that the most popular review at the time of writing this is a 2 star review, because this is simply an impeccable piece of kit. I waited a bit to write my review as I wanted to use it first and have a fair view of the various issues raised by other reviewers.

I’ll start with the CLEANING, since this is were I think most unfair reviews are and what put me off the most: It is entirely FALSE that you need to clean all three bowls when using just one. So many reviews say that. You DON’T. I have added some photos to demonstrate that. READ the instructions people. It clearly states not to fill the bowls more than 1/3 for liquids or 2/3 for solids. The ONLY case where I found ingredients flying from the small to the big bowl is when chopping really light/fluffy ingredients like leaves or breadcrumbs. Blow the leaves away, swirl a bit of water, or just use the bigger bowl for breadcrumbs. It really is that simple.

I’ve timed the cleaning: 1 bowl, normal use: 3 min, 1 bowl after kneading dough: 5 min, 2 bowls with oily pesto sauce and wet and sticky dough: 8 min. OR you know, just stick it in the dishwasher. The other thing to note is that you should clean parts immediately after use. It’s in the manual and anyone that has used any kitchen device (i.e juicer, mini chopper) knows that if you leave the stuff to cake on it, it is 100x more difficult to clean.
So indeed you do need to take cleaning time into account when calculating how much time you saved on a task. I personally would rather spent 60 sec kneading or slicing+5 min cleaning a bowl than 10-15 kneading/slicing and then cleaning the mess from the counter.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: This machine is oozing quality from the minute you unbox it. The stainless steel finish and the thick plastic on the bowl, they all look sturdy and set to last for years. This thing is HEAVY and BIG. You want to keep it on your counter so that you can easily use it. Storing it in a cupboard defeats the purpose. So make sure you have the space for it. It is very quiet..wow. My mini chopper is a lot more noisy.

CHOPPING: Does what it says in the tin. Excellent control of how finely chopped you want things without mincing them. You actually need to leave it on for a while before it minces things which is great. I made fresh salmon burgers, chimichurri, pesto, breadcrumbs all came out at perfect consistency.

SLICING/GRATING: It takes seconds, fractions of a second even. It’s just impressive how quick it is and how little (if any) waste it leaves behind. Just super efficient, no other way to put this. And the wide feeding tube is super convenient. I’ve tried Coleslaw, carrots, potatoes and I every time I was speechless.

KNEADING: I kneaded (unleavened) pasta dough as well as wet and sticky sourdough based dough and it does it efficiently in 60 seconds. I own a stand mixer but never owned a big food processor before so I had a hard time convincing myself that you can knead dough in 60 seconds. I can confirm that it does it very well. Pasta dough comes out hard and blistered just like it should. Very impressive. I’ve seen no mess as some other reviews point out, either in terms of dry flour or wet dough going everywhere.Everything is a LOT neater than if you were working with flour or wet dough on a counter. There’s some shacking indeed but doesn’t jump around on the counter like I’ve heard others do. It’s solid heavy and the suction feet work well. My mind says that a stand mixer might be better at kneading but it’s also a LOT slower.

WHISKING: I’ve used it to whisk whole eggs to ribbon stage. I guess this is one of the more difficult tasks in the whisking category. My stand mixer is certainly better at that but the result was OK.

I hope you found my review useful. I’ve decided to write an extensive one it as I had huge trouble myself making a call on this! Overall I’m very pleased I went for it. You won’t be disappointed people!

Excellent results, top quality and functions. Love it!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis Magimix Food Processor has become one of the most regularly used cooking essentials in our lives. There isn’t a day that goes by without some form of use and all the features get used over time with the exception of the dough blade. That is simply because we make regularly make bread with a bread maker and there is no obvious use for this dough blade at this time.

The Magimix Food Processor tools that we use are all extremely well designed, well made and reliable. A useful and neat container for the extra tools is supplied. In terms of reliability, the only Magimix item that we have owned and that has ever needed some sort of attention has been a seal in the completely separate Liquidizer. Although that was out of guarantee the replacement parts were supplied free of charge and delivery by return of the phone call.

It would take an unnecessary amount of time to detail each item in this highly flexible machine as the conclusion in every case would be one of complete and uncompromised satisfaction.

Suffice it to say that in the event of a breakdown during its working life I would expect to rectify it with the manufacturer with minimum bother. In the event of its reaching the end of its useful working life, and the motor is guaranteed for 30 years as a clue to likelihood, then an updated replacement would immediately be purchased!

In a world of the short-term this machine is an example of superiority of the long-term.

I use this machine at least once every day for a family size smoothie, and then for cakes, bread, & chopping veg etc. It look great, and does the most amazing job. The ring for soups & smoothies is a dream, I do challenge it with the size I make but it really works. Washing up is easy, it all comes a part (even the top off the blade), I don’t put in dish washer. Very robust, the base is heavy, but it is stable and I find it easy to move. So glad I bought this, thoroughly recommend to all.

This food processor is very heavy, so I keep it on my worktop. It looks good and I use it nearly every day now. I think having it there encourages me to use it and I probably wouldn’t if it was away in a cupboard. Very quick and easy to make bread and cakes, also to chop and blend. I haven’t made a successful smoothy yet, but for everything else, I have been really happy. I was concerned by reports that you have to wash all bowls even if you only use the small one, but they usually only need a quick rinse and dry, so I find it quite easy. I am pleased with this purchase and that I could pay for it monthly without any interest.

The box is in terrible condition and looks like it has fallen down many hills in its journey! The product inside had no protective support around it and is damaged as result. Disaster. I am awaiting Amazon’s response.
I have bought many items from both Amazon and the Amazon warehouse where everything to date was fine and well packed for safety but this is very poor and completely unacceptable.

I personally don’t think it’s too heavy as others have mentioned. I store it away and get it our when needed. All the tools are great and it is very easy to clean. Definatley worth the money and investment if you bake every weekend as I do. I make pate every week and it chops and smooths out lambs liver no problem. It also copes with 300g of soaked quinoa and 300g of courgettes mixed with chia seeds. This was the test for me as the mixture becomes very thick and binding and it coped fantastic and quicker that I thought!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve waited many years to buy a Magimix food processor. I looked at 3200xl, 4200xl and 5200xl.. I looked at the weights of recipes that I make on a regular basis and used this as a gauge to help my decision. The 4200xl handles my 600g bread dough recipe with ease. I’m new to food processors, I’ve always used my KitchenAid stand mixer for making bread dough…which seems to take between 8-10 minutes to reach the perfect consistency for bread dough. I used my Magimix to make bread last night….game changer! In just over 1 minute, my bread dough was ready…it made beautiful bread too. Perfect.

Excellent quality feel to the processor…everything looks like it has been engineered with precision and it’s very user-friendly. You can easily have a conversation while it’s switched on too…unlike my food jug style blender, something that will be going to the Charity shop soon. I’m looking forward to gaining more cupboard space, by taking lots of other kitchen appliances to the Charity shop – because the Magimix will do pretty much everything that I need it to do.

Excellent service from UK Magimix too, nothing has been too much trouble for them. I also love their 30 year motor warranty…I don’t know of any other brand who would do this.

I think the learning curve for me, it will be adapting to just how quickly my Magimix will complete tasks.

I’m looking forward to working my way through their recipe book.

If you buy one….I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

    Sooz x

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI have had my Magimix for a few weeks and bought it on the recommendation of friends who are serious cooks. It has been great for making bread, cakes, pastry, pate, and recipes with shredded or grated vegetables (e.g. coleslaw). The only downside, and the reason it doesn’t get 5 stars all round from me, is that it is a bit tricky to clean – I would describe this as a niggle rather than a serious problem. Otherwise, I am very pleased with this high quality product.

Great food processor & makes meal prep time such a breeze – not quite sure how I survived without it!
Also, pleasantly surprised by the recipe app, it seems to have new recipes added on a regular basis.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have just started using it, but it does everything it is supposed to do and quickly. It stands proudly on my countertop being red and shiny. The motor is very powerful and the basic accessories are enough for me.
But: when I prepared lemons for my lemonchutney, it has effected the minibowl. It has gotten opaque. I expect a machine of this quality to use the best materials!
And 2 tips for the manufacturer Make some holes in the bottom rims of the large and minibowl. After washing up the water will disappear easier and it might be a good idea to add a solid pusher, because the one that comes with the machine always needs a lot of work cleaning and drying

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI thought long and hard before investing in this machine. There are no doubt very good alternatives but the combination of the long guarantee and quiet operation (my young son hates the sound of the blender we already have) won me over. Very pleased with it so far. It’s clearly very well made and has worked effortlessly through several jobs using a few of the different blades – and with my son sitting near-by with no complaints. My only niggle is that all parts of the lid need rinsing even if you only use the small bowl. I’m sure Magimix have considered it; hopefully that small improvement can be designed-in at some point in future designs. Highly recommended overall.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was so upset when a bit fell off my old Magimix which I could not replace because it was obsolete. Machine was over 20 years old and had been a stalwart in my busy kitchen for all that time. So I had to say goodbye to an old friend that had served me so very well. However, when the new one arrived, I was astonished at how much the Magimix had evolved. It is an absolutely superb machine, so powerful, intelligent, versatile…..I am no longer grieving for the loss of my old friend!

I love it. It looks great, it works brilliantly. I haven’t thrown anything at it yet that it cannot deal with. It can be a bit fiddly to clean up after use but I do choose not to use the dishwasher so that I can keep it’s lovely pristine appearance for the time being.

Arrived speedily and has been in much use over the festive period. I love the quality having had a cheaper one before that was such a nuisance to clean every time with nooks and crannies everywhere. This is also such a good solid build that means it copes with all I have thrown at it so far!!

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI’ve only had this for a few weeks, but it has done the job! It’s so powerful and can crush up nuts with no water in no time at all. Saves a ton of time. Quiet for the power behind it. Heavy, but found a place to store it that doesn’t require much moving. Lots of different blades and bowls to work with.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersSolid and well made, it feels like it will last forever.

Adding new parts (such as the juicer) is expensive.

The design of the lid and the plungers isn’t too smart. There are lots of long, thin cavities that food gets into and it’s hard to clean them out manually. It’s all dishwasher friendly, though, so if you have the option of bunging them in there it’s ok.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBrilliant product. So pleased with this. Love the design, so easy to assemble and use. Many safety features. Solid and stable construction, strong motor, really sharp blades (mind your fingers when you’re washing up!). Slices and shreds in seconds, easily mixes dough using unsoftened butter. Especially good for grinding nuts and dates, which was what I wanted it for in the first place, but it has so many more applications. I like the large orifice of the XL. I still need my Kenwood Chef for larger quantities (ie large loaves of bread), and I would need more attachments in order to make julienne strips, but this has been a huge asset to my kitchen. Wish I’d had one years ago. But the product is pricey, hence only 4 stars……..

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’m enjoying using it.Keeping it clean means washing several parts all at the same time, but so far the novelty hasn’t worn off because I hate grating veg and apples, as I usually add some of my own flesh(!) However, this machine does the job efficiently and quickly.
I have also mixed puddings and cakes in it and it’s been great.
I’m hoping it will be robust enough to last me for some while. Only time will tell.
The blades are in a lovely compact compartment and it also comes with a properly bound instruction/ recipe book, though interpreting the symbols involves sitting down and reading it properly. While there are some youtube videos about the machine, I would have appreciated a Magimix video that showed each part of the machine clearly and what it was for.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLove my Magimix, having never owned a food processor before I was a little skeptical about spending so much money on one. The processor is extremely sturdy and I often use it for blending soups or chopping up vegetables, I do need to experiment more by using the different blades. I agree with some of the other comments that there’s a lot of washing up to do after using the food processor and it also takes up a lot of room in your dishwasher. But the quality is excellent and i’m happy with the product.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have had a Magimix processor for over 20 years so had no hesitation in buying the same make for my daughter for Christmas. I cannot recommend Magimix highly enough. I know this processor is more expensive than some others, but the quality more than makes up for this, especially it is lasts as long as mine!
