Just the best hoovers for suction power and ACTUALLY cleaning your carpets properly. Not suitable for frail people. You cannot beat the quality of suction on shark hoovers.

Gave my old shark to my daughter, and bought a generic cordless vacuum which was OK for a while, but realised over time it wasn’t so great so bought this shark mainly for value ,soon glad I did !

This vacuum cleaner is excellent. Good suction, good for cleaning stairs and upholstery, easy to empty. Slightly heavier than I wanted but I love it otherwise

Cleans nicely headlight was a bit unexpected but does show dust up in dark corners making cleaning easier. This is my first shark and I’m quite happy with it.

Bought As A Replacement of shark NV601UK31
Prefered The NV601UK31 As it hoovered every rug carpet and floor
This could not hoover a couple of rugs even when I adjusted the switch
The Attachment with the roller did hoover the rugs and very good for furniture especially if you have pets
    I’m quite happy with it
    It does pick up alo

I have tried all the smaller cordless hoovers and the battery’s go quick and the suction is normally pants. This time I wanted to try a corded. Once you get over the practicality of a corded, heavier hoover you realise how great a job it does. Even though the hoover is chunky and heavy. It has some features that support with this.
The job of a hoover is to clean. And this hoover certainly does that. I rated it 5 cos of this. And whilst it may not be the easiest hoover to use, it’s definitely been the most powerful. I’m glad I made this choice.

Exactly what was required. Good suction, easy to manage. Like the way it breaks down for doing stairs.
Easy emptying. Like everything about it.

A vast improvement on our old vacuum. Not til we used the Shark did we realise quite how much the old machine was leaving behind. Very powerful suck on this machine and cannot find a setting for use on a long pile rug, but it’s a similar story to the others we’ve had. Lean low with the handle and be quick is the solution. Normal carpet and laminate is fine. Bungalow, so no stair use review. Fairly light, easy to empty and it will always find something to pick up even on a supposedly clean floor.

Only received this Shark today. It’s fantastic!
Have had a Dyson for years but needed something lighter.
The Shark is powerful and easy to use. I was amazed how dust was picked up and it made me realise what my old Dyson was missing. The Lift Away is so easy to use and makes hoovering the stairs so much easier.
As I say I only got the Shark today but so far very impressed.
I should have bought one sooner.

I have purchased this vacuum because I’m familiar with the Shark brand and it has always stood out to me. The option to dismount the actual vaccum from the base is what stood out to me as it would be perfect for the car as well. I’ve read the other reviews about little suction or too much suction but still decided to got for it. Works wonders, I’m really happy with this vacuum and it’s capabilities. It is great value for money. The trick with controlling suction is the little sliding button on the handle which let’s you adjust it.

Great hoover. It makes me realise just how had my old one had got! Just wish I had got the one with anti hair wrap as after every use I have to get my scissors out to cut it free.
Makes hoovering the stairs an absolute doddle.
One minus point is I can’t find where to store all the attachments but that might just be me having a daft moment.

This is literally the best vacuum cleaner I’ve ever used. Tried a VAX many moons ago, not great so changed to a Dyson upright (cable) which was fine until it packed up after a good 8 years of use. Unfortunately that trusty upright lulled me into a unjustified loyalty to Dyson, I mean, such a reliable vacuum must have been replaced by something equal in ability in this modern era of cordless right? Never been more wrong, 500 and 18 months of duff rechargeable batteries (10-15 minutes of cleaning before at least a 3 hour recharge) and suction ability of what I can only describe as a toddler trying to inhale the floor clean and only then assuming the dirt was no bigger than a microbe (or it would just shut down until the filters were fully cleansed and dried) enough was enough. I’d heard good things about Shark and I can honestly say every positive comment is justified, powerful, versatile and above all being corded I know I can clean the whole house in the 30-45 mins I’ve alloted to the task, rather than trying to grab 10 minutes of essentially pushing most of the dust from one room to another in the hope that the Dyson would pick at least some of it up before it gave up the ghost for another 3 hours, thus taking up the entire day to do every room. Worth every penny (add the car accessory kit too, it’s brilliant, I’ll be getting the under Sofa attachment too). For price, functionality, ability and reliability, there is no comparison, no wonder they have replaced Mr D and his overpriced pretenders to the crown, don’t believe the hype, corded is the future!

I’ve had a hand me down Henry hoover for a very long time and decided with 2kids, a husband and 4 cats we finally needed a better one. And the shark was my pick. It was reaonably priced and was just what we needed. It’s doing better than I hoped and is showing that we should have changed ol Henry a long time ago. It does tend to topple when you use the hose for round the edges but for the work it does I can live with that. And I suppose you could take the dust collector off the main body of it was nothing you. All in all a recommended purchase.

Bought this as our dyson ball vacuum was not good. It tended to push dirt around rather than suck it up. Overall, we are happy with the Shark. Its suction is very good and it seems easy to clean. The cord is long enough to leave it plugged at the top of the stairs and then do all the stairs – we don’t have short stairs. However, compared to the dyson it is easy to pull it over on the stairs and for it to land on you! Make sure it’s on the stair below you. The suction tube is shorter than the one on the dyson (which is unfortunate but not terrible).
All in all a great replacement.
Oh, and the best ting of all – it’s got lights!

Really pleased with this. Looked up the Which cleaners before buying. Have had a Vax max air which was really light for several years. The suction power on this was even better. I have excess amounts of dog hair on a cream carpet so worked very well. I like that the cord has a loop, I had to keep looping round handle on vax. Also like the removal nozzle with attachment for the stairs. So far my only criticism would be that handle quite high, feel like I could lower but when using it its OK. Easy to remove cylinder and impressed by the ability to clean internal filter. I also like that the hose comes out half way up the vacuum, I had to keep bending down to floor level to take hose in and out of vax. Not used on kitchen floor yet. Will update. Which said not as brilliant on hard floor.

When I bought my first flat, I was a cleaning maniac. Fast forward 35 years and I have realised that actually, so long as food prep is hygienic, dust isn’t that important. So there I was, relaxing into retirement when OH got diagnosed with dust mite allergy. Yippee! Not. I bought this as it said that it was a great model to keep areas hypoallergenic with a fancy filter and whatnot. Certainly it’s powerful and the little light on the front is really useful for ensuring you reach all the nooks and crannies. It’s light too, although if you are using the wand you have to kind of hang onto the hose or the machine falls over but you can’t have it both ways, I suppose. So far so good, although more frequent hoovering didn’t seem to make much difference to OH and, as I knew it would, my enthusiasm for daily hoovering waned very quickly indeed. One thing I never gave any thought to was the filter that sits under the dust box and when I thought to check this, I was puzzled at first as it seemed to be made of a “fluffy, felt material”. I went online to buy a new one but all I could find was sponge so I looked again. The fluffy felt turned out to be hair, and now that’s been cleaned out, I bet the whole thing works a lot better. OH is now on mega strong anti histamines and they seem to be doing the trick but I am still pleased I bought this machine as it picks up a lot of stuff (and even more now all that hair has gone).

ordered it last night as was doing stripping of wallpaper and such, so loads of mess and my god is this a power house, a friend of mine has a vaccume from the same company and it can survive quiet a bit, screws and nails hardly do anything, however i wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to suck up screws and nail, more a case of “if you miss them when you are cleaning up” than a “go out your way to find them”. its really easy to set up got it in the house and then set up within 2 mins, perfect for a small place too as you can take it apart for easier storage anywhere, even in multiple rooms if you need to.

Wasn’t disappointed with this hoover at all the suction is brill and pulls things outs of the rugs and laminate you can’t with normal hoovers. The loft away part is brill for the stairs and ceilings or if you need to hoover out the car. It isn’t a light weight hoover but it’s certainly not the heaviest either and the spare attachments are just fab. Would highly recommend. Specially for the price I got it for.

OK so 48 years old and been through dozens of hovers over the years. I have had Dyson hover miele and pretty much every other manufacturer there is available. I can hand on my heart say that I have never had a hoover where the suction is so strong that I could not push it across the carpet. This thing is amazing. Removed all the dog hairs first time and my collie leaves tonnes of them everywhere. The only downside from having got it to replace a Dyson is if you suck something up you shouldn’t and it blocks it the fact I had to get the tool kit out to dismantle the head was a pain. I do prefer the Dyson tool free approach but that being said so long as this lasts shark is the only hoover manufacturer I will be buying in the future

This relatively lightweight machine has a powerful suction. I have been using it for a month and it has removed vast quantities of dirt/dust from my carpets. I have dogs and their coats drop lots of dirt into the carpets.
When I first used the Shark vacuum it was difficult to push across the floor so I resorted to pulling. I put this down to the amount of dirt it was sucking out of the carpets, easily a container per room!!
It now moves more easily moving forward and doesn’t find as much dirt.
The filters are easy to see and wash. I have washed them after each ‘assault’ on the carpets. They are not getting as filthy now after a month of usage.
I am impressed with how easy it is to remove, use and replace the wand.
Overall I am pleased that I purchased this Shark vacuum and that I read the reviews written by others, including WHICH.

Having used a cordless vacuum cleaner for a number of years we succumbed to the advertising, especially as we have two hairy collies. The amount of hair and ‘dirt’ this machine picked up was astonishing. One thing I found difficult, or good exercise, was pushing it on a carpet on full power – although the resultant clean was impressive.

I have been using a Vax vacuum which I have found to be fairly heavy and not the easiest machine to manoeuvre on thick carpet. I hated pushing it around, found it very tiring so wasn’t overly disappointed when the drive shaft packed up and Vax offered no solutions. Looked at various options, studied reviews and bought the Shark whilst hoping it lived up to reviews.

Amazon delivered as efficiently as ever and I was looking forward to the “new toy”. Very impressed immediately by the extremely good and careful way in which everything was packaged with all items individually wrapped. Assembly was simplicity itself with everything connecting with a good solid “click”. It’s very easy to fit the accessories with the facility to store two pieces on the main unit itself. Switches are very good, positive movement and well placed for ease of use. Vacuuming the stairs was almost a pleasure, easy with powered lift-away unit being light, easy to detach and very light to carry up the stairs. Suction is fantastic and the adjustment is good also.
I have a cat who, believe it or not, used to love being vacuumed herself using the soft brush. It not only got rid of considerable cat fur but she enjoyed it. When the Shark arrived, she was a little nervy because it was very different to the Vax. Anyway, she took to it immediately and follows me around waiting for her regular grooming session !

I have to say this vacuum scores top marks in all aspects and I cannot recommend highly enough !

It’s very nice looking vacuum and very easy to put together and use, but very plasticky and difficult to manoeuvre on thick carpet when the suction is on full. I had to turn down the suction to minimum so I could comfortably vacuum the carpet and that did the trick. I was happy with the overall cleaning of the carpets and I was surprised to see how much fluff, dirt and dust it collected from cleaning the carpets, the container was nearly full.

I had heard good things about Shark vacuum cleaners however upon first using it, I couldn’t believe how much better this was than my previous cleaner.
Great flexibility to allow for cleaning in awkward places. A great purchase!

Are they all hype? Is it going to be too heavy? Is the pet hair attachment a gimmick?

No, No & No! My old reliable Henry made cleaning the stairs & car a pain and would constantly knock things over as he followed me around. I’m now in the 21st Century and my vacuum has headlights!

Excellent suction, made the rug an interesting challenger – it put poor Henry to shame. The amount of hair & dust from the first sweep was quite surprising.

Not the most lightweight, largely due to the powerful suction; much easier to push if you’re not right on top of the vacuum and a step or two behind instead.

Great results from the pet hair attachment on the sofas.

    Very happy

This is the second Shark I have bought, unfortunately I ruined the roller motor on my old one trying to hoover up Christmas tree needles which overwhelmed it (completely my fault I should add – I should have used the nozzle not the floor head). The first thing I will say is that Shark suction is absolutely the best I have ever experienced. I actually had to turn the suction down a bit on this one at first as I was fearing for my carpet staying where it should! Overall it is a great little vacuum cleaner however compared to my first one which was a bit higher spec, it comes over a little less refined. The bits that click together on the old one are so solid and sturdy and whilst both machines are plastic, this one really feels more “plasticy” and I don’t think it is finished to the same solid standard as my old one. Another minus is that it can be extremely hard to push around carpeted floors unless you pull the suction back a bit which I never had to do with my old one which hoovered like an absolute dream. I think if I was to go back and do this transaction again I would pay a little more and get onr of the higher spec models but ultimately it does what it is meant to do: suck dirt up!

I have been so happy with my purchase; it works just as advertised and was true to previous reviews I had read. I’ve probably been using it for almost a month now.
I’ve found that it picks up on carpet and hard floor very well
The suction on the nozzles are very powerful, I didn’t expect it to be that strong – I use the slim crevice tool to clean the dusting brush and it gets everything out. The fact that the dusting brush head can detach and separate from the crevice tool underneath is very useful and makes cleaning easy.
The headlights are actually a nice addition, it illuminates the dirt really well and has been useful.
A little tip: I found that after I used the lift away function, the lift away pod wouldn’t want to ‘click’ back in easily. Sometimes it worked straight away, other times it took so many attempts! But it’s not that you need to slam it down or push down harder, it really will click into place very easily, IF you angle it slightly forward when you lower it into the hoover head. I seemed to be lowering the pod completely vertically, which clearly isn’t the right angle. Once I figured out to angle it slightly forward, it slots into place straight away.
The only down side is that when I use the lift away function, I tend to put the lift away pod down so I can use both hands on the wand for greater control and the pod tends to topple quite easily (I usually hold it between my legs to stop it toppling) – it probably wouldn’t be as much of a problem if the hose was longer, it is quite short compared to previous vacuum cleaners, but I guess that’s not much of a problem since you can lift the base higher.
Regardless of the small inconvenience, the many benefits outweigh this small issue. The lift away function is still very useful and I’m glad it has it.

Dubious at buying a Shark lift away but took the plunge. The suction is more than expected and it picks up better than I’ve been used to. With the lights in the head I do not have the excuse that it’s too dark to clean. It’s so easy in every aspect especially doing the stairs with the lift-away and emptying is a doodle.

  38. Katie Wickens says:

When I first got this vacuum cleaner I was concerned it was too powerful as it was nearly impossible to push. However once I turned the suction to minimum it was fine. It’s also great for doing stairs as it totally detaches from the base and isn’t too heavy. I would definitely recommend and the price doesn’t break the bank.

I had a shark vacuum before and was very happy with it so decided to get another one. The positives are that it has really excellent suction, the light is strong so you can see the dirt on the floor, the part that rolls on the ground is large so you cover a good amount of floor with little effort, if you are hoovering carpets you can reduce suction power so it moves more easily. The negatives are because the dust cylinder is lower down you cannot go under furniture like you could with the older version. This is particularly annoying when trying to vacuum under beds, you just can’t. I understand why the cylinder is low down in that you’re not carrying its weight in your hand, which you did in the older version, however it has reduced its ability to get under beds and armchairs. You can take the stick out and add an attachment, but all the attachments are very small so it would take you forever to vacuum underneath a bed. This is the same issue when hoovering stairs, moving the whole vacuum on the stairs is cumbersome as it is large and heavy, but using the stick with the small stair attachment takes too long, I vacuum using the whole machine. Shark need to provide an attachment to add to the stick which is at least 20 cm wide to make light work of stairs and under furniture such as beds. I now use a less good vacuum for under the beds, and this new Shark one for the rest of the house. Not ideal but doable.

We have a Dyson V10, which is lighter, but all the heads have broken one way or another and the battery life is diminishing rapidly. The Shark was the price of a replacement head for the Dyson, and on its first clean of the living room looked like it had sucked up the dog, given the dust and hair the V10 had not sucked up. Highly recommended!

Saw this on offer for 150 paid over 5 0% installments. Super.

Very lightweight with powerful suction. Put it through some abuse already and still going strong.

Cable slightly stiff but it’s not a deal braker for me.

Also, some people such as the elderly or people with weak muscle strength may find it hard to push because of the speed of the rotor brushes and the suction power. Also the dust drum isn’t the largest so may need emptying more often when used in larger properties.

    But overall it’s fantastic

Unbelievable I vacuum everyday by the photos that doesn’t look quite true I do not know what my Vax vacuum was doing I used the Shark vacuum for the very first time on on hard floors rugs and carpets this is a very powerful vacuum as you can see in my photos that dirt it has lifted up for the very first time of use! But please read the instructions before use an attachment don’t use the brush mood on rugs use the attachment as it says and you will be totally blowing away with the dirt it lifts the only vacuum cleaner this could compare to would be a Kirby! People have the give this a bad review because they didn’t read the instructions or even watch a YouTube video well worth the money I totally recommend this 100% I’ve had so many vacuum cleaners over the years this is by far the best!

    Wow absolutely out standing!!
