I have no idea what the usual use of a supply like this is, maybe for CCTV or something, but I got it for my 3d printer, which runs on 12v (unusually) and needs an uprated psu from the one it comes with for some upgrades I wanted to do.
This one does the job, no issues with it at all.

I use this for my telescope mount/camera/control. Not only does the end fit well where other previous ones were sloppy, it delivers power all night without getting too hot.

I built some little back horn speakers for my garage as a side project. Part of this was driving them from a 100W amplifier. They’re nothing fancy, or beefy, but thought this would be a great product to test them out with.

The safety features included in this seem great, with the over temp, over volt and over current protections. I did laugh at the warning on running it at full load as it will get ‘super hot’. I had hoped I could test this with my speakers but ultimately it never got hot enough!

The fitment, 5.5/2.5 is common and exactly what I needed. As I said, a great all rounder.

Powering the speakers went really well – the power supply never got overly warm to the touch, probably because I never had the speakers up full chat for long periods of time and the amplifier wasnt drawing too much current. Overall, I am happy with this product. I think it does the job just fine and at the price, is in and around what is expected from this types of thing. I recall highstreet stores selling these at around the 20 mark some years ago so this seems reasonable.

One unexpected win from this power supply was that it came with the opposing piece of the barrel jack connector with screw terminals too – making actually using this for an LED lighting project a total cinch because there was no scrabbling around trying to match barrel lengths and diameters, it was super quick to use straight out of the box. Using WS2815 I’ve had no issues with anything like flickering, dimming over the length I’ve used, or coil whine from the transformer, so I’d highly recommend this.

I have been using this one to power a small digital amplifier module and the 2.1mm output plugs straight in.

The mains lead is fitted with a 3amp fuse, well done makers is silent in operation and on my load runs cold.

Adapter is provided should you have just wire ends rather than a 2.1mm centre positive socket.

This is a useful power adapter, but I’m confused. They claim protection against over-voltage, current, temperature, short circuit and electromagnetic wave, yet also say “if draws more than 8A, only 8A will be supplied and power supply will be damaged soon”. There is no such warning in the box or on the product. Still, the devices it’s designed to be used with are unlikely to get close to 8A, so there shouldn’t be a problem, in practice. In any case, maybe I’m just showing my ignorance and shouldn’t be surprised.

On the plus side, it seems solid and well-made, reassuringly weighty at 350g without the power cord. The power cord itself is of high quality. They claim a range of standards accreditations which I’ll assume to be genuine.

It comes in a cardboard box, which is excellent until you find they felt the need to wrap the adapter in a plastic bag within the box. Grrr! Still, it certainly works well, and quietly, so makes a good buy at 17.99, as long as you don’t mind supporting the Chinese economy, with all they’re doing in the world.

Cant fault this item. A solid robust power supply delivering a whopping 8A. Great for gadget that have a heavy current draw or for those lighting projects than need the umph. I have tried this, drawing 6A and it performed amicably. Supplied with a good quality mains cable. Recommended.

This is a really well made power supply, it is very solid with no rattles as you get with some and it gives a very solid 12 volt output.
The unit is very well built with clean edges and good quality leads. I tested the output and it gave me a very constant 12.4 volts when connected to a set of twelve 12v 5w LED light bulbs pulling 5 amps in total.
The unit comes complete with a UK mains cable for the input and a standard 5.5×2.5mm plug on the output which will fit most 12v equipment but included with this unit is a dual wire adapter that fits to the output plug so that you can connect your 12v equipment using just the + and – wires which I have found very useful in my application for this transformer.
I have only tested this with LED lighting but with a rating of 96w it will be useful for many 12v devices such as cameras. I always recommend that a transformer is not used past 80% of capacity so in my mind this unit can be used safely and long term for up to 78 watts or 6.5 amps.
    Well built and reliable,
    Recommended.

I cant fault this adapter , it was easy to use just plug in and go. I needed a new one for my second printer I have two and one is a little old and the mains cable is a little worn and this was just the job. It is solid and feels well made the cable is well connected at the box part and the plug seems tough and durable.

This is quite handy for things you normally use out camping or in a caravan where you have a power supply that gives 12 volts.
You can plug them into a 3 pin house socket at home.
It isnt the kind you can plug into your cigarette lighter
Check the amp rating , its usually somewhere on the gadget.
    This provides 8 amps maximum
That means it will provide upto that amount but not more.
IF your gadget takes a lower amperage it will be fine as it will only draw the amount it uses.

This works well with my 3D pen which only draws 3 amps
The flex is a little on the thick side for the weight of the pen though.
The cable from transformer to the power outlet is a kettle flex (3 connectors) just like your computer power flex and the actual transformer is quite large (5.5 x 2.5 x 1.5 inches)

This power block has a second adapter which is very useful.
I expected the second connector to be an adapter to allow the first one to convert to a smaller or different end but actually it is the reverse end of the first one.

I mean if you have an object that the first socket will connect with directly, you just plug it in but if you have a gadget that doesnt have the right end, you COULD remove the gadget’s connector and then wire it in to the secondary adapter provided with this transformer ( the pos and neg are clearly marked) and so make it compatible. You do still need to be sure it is 12 volts and not more than 8 amps but that should be marked on either the gadget or its original transformer.

Quite big at 5.5 inches by 2.5 inches

We use 12V PSUs all the time, we have them to power lights and sensors and this one from SHNITPWR is very good quality. Rated at 8A and 96W, it is perfect for our requirements, and we have had one in use for a couple of weeks with absolutely no problems whatsoever.

Well made and well priced, I’m sure we will be buying more.

I ordered this because my daughter has a room like Blackpool illuminations with so many LED lights as well as various monitors and she actually needed the replacement lead as lost one when rearranging room! ( how can you lose lead of item in use?).This comes with a fused UK plug and my daughter actually decided entire unit looked better than box needed lead for so she is presently using to power one of sets of LED lights in room and works fine.I’m not very tech to explain volts but has all safety marks on box and plug and working great so happy to recommend

    Works great 👍

The SHNITPWR 12v DV Power supply is great for replacing faulty 12v power supplies used to power many electronic devices, but it also perfect for my intended use of powering multiple CCTV cameras from a single power supply, using a 1 to 4 power splitter cable.

The power supply housing feels quite solid and has a reasonable weight to it.
It connects to the mains via a regular kettle type lead (approx. 120cm in length) and then your devices connect to the opposite cable which is approximately 1m in length and is terminated with a 5.5mm x 2.5mm barrel connector with a positive centre pin. The cable also has an integrated Ferrite Choke to help reduce high frequency noise in electronic circuits.
The power brick measures approximately 14cm x 6cm x 4cm (L x W x D) and outputs 12 volts DC and up to a maximum of 8 Amps and has a handy LED power indicator light on the top so you can quickly see whether the supply is switched on. You can use the adapter to power any 12v device that uses 8 Amps or less, but not greater than 8 Amps as you risk causing a fire.

SHNITPWR also supply a push on female barrel connector to screw terminals, which is handy for temporary connections or for things such as LED strip lights which just have bare wires and no barrel connector.

    ***** In The Box *****

    1 x 12v DC Power Supply 8 Amp
    1 x Mains Power Lead
1 x Barrel to Screw Terminal Adapter

    ***** Conclusion *****

I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the build quality of the SHNITPWR supply. Often these type of adapters can feel cheap and can leave you feeling a little uneasy for applications that you need to leave running 24/7 (particularly in the case of CCTV power supplies), but that isn’t the case here.

I have the adapter powering 4 cameras, which comes in well under the 8 Amp limit and the power brick just feels slightly warm to the touch. I haven’t noticed any annoying electrical squealing sounds coming from the brick either, which is often the case so another bonus point here and the included barrel to screw terminal adapter is also useful to have.

All in all, the SHNITPWR supply is very good value for money and well worth buying should you need a replacement 12v supply.

I got this power supply to power the LED strip lights in our worshop.
It works very well for this purpose, but of course it can be used for many other things.
I am using it with the 20m LED strips I had laying around unused. I’ve also tried connecting the 12v fridge-freezer from our campervan and it works fine.
It is good to have quite a powerful 12v power supply as so many things can be powered with this voltage and up to 8 Amp.
It comes with the DC connector which is easy to disconnect if I need to use the power supply for something else temporarily.
I will be buying more of those connectors to have them ready for other devices.
I think this is very useful 12v power supply, which works well and is good value for money.

There’s a multitude of uses for a power supply like this. For many, it will be powering those LED strips they’ve bought and extended past the power available with their current power supply. For me, it’s an older flat-screen TV whose power supply had bitten the dust. It needed a 12V supply at 5A, so this one had no problems supplying the necessary juice.

This power supply is based on a brick design. It has a separate mains power lead that plugs in one end of the brick. The output comes from a fixed lead terminated in a barrel plug. In the box is an adaptor for wiring bare wires to the supply output. Be careful with the polarities when using this adaptor.

The voltage output measured 12.2V and stayed quite stable even when loaded. I haven’t managed to load it up to its maximum of 8 amps, but I have no doubt it will handle it without blinking an eyelid. The brick gets lukewarm when supplying high currents but never too hot.

Overall, a decent power supply for a multitude of applications. I hope that helps.

This nifty little power supply is pretty much exactly like a laptop supply. You get a Euro style ‘kettle’ lead and a transformer with a fixed 5.5mm female socket. It’s the same size that most security cameras run on (and a lot more 12V operated devices I have lying around the house).

You get a screw terminal adaptor which is excellent if you’ve just got two leads and no male connector. If you’ve something with a fixed lead and 12V transformer that’s gone kaput, this would be great to repair, just cutting off the old transformer and wiring this up (making sure you get the polarity right!).

In operation it only gets slightly warm and seems to have a pretty clean output. It easily powers 8 security cameras through a splitter.

    Great security camera power supply.

This is an ideal Power Supply Unit (PSU) replacement for various 12V devices. It is top quality, with excellent smoothflow DC output, and accumulating coil to minimise RF interference etc, as well maintaining constant voltage without fluctuation.

This is a disrinctly quality PSU, which has the common 5.5mm x 2.5mm port, with a superb additional terminal adapter, great for if you need a 12v DC supply for testing equipment etc.

The (primary side) LV (mains 230V AC) cable connection is standard IEC (kettle type), and is very good quality, with a strong tough plug top / IEC and cable finish.

Overall, the PSU provides Short-Circuit, Overcurrent, EM, overtemperature, and overvoltage protection, and is of course CE / FCC / RoHS marked etc. Good quality transformer coil windings etc are illustrated by totally silent, with no hum at all performance.

An all-round great quality PSU (12V/8A output), that’s good value too. Ensure the connector type and output suit your requirements, just to be sure

I hope that you have found this helpful.

    Top Quality
