This was going to make my life so much easier, nailing up some sheets of plywood in my summerhouse. I tried it at home and it put a 30mm brad perfectly through some hardwood ply and into the timber behind, with the nail head lying perfectly under the surface, but when I tried it on site where I don’t have mains electric, it just wouldn’t work off my small genny, revved to the max, it just gave a little ‘phut’. Doh!

I used it to pin 2×1 lengths onto battons to make fence. Worked perfectly.

I needed a staple gun that could take 30mm staples for laying foil underfloor installation. The Duo 35 made an awkward job straightforward. It is easy to use including loading the staples and has good safety features. It feels like it should last. Stuffing the wiring back in the case is the usual struggle, the wiring is heavy duty and quite stiff.

The only problem with this is you have to use both hands for the Brad to go all the way in. If you use one hand you will have to use a hammer to finish driving the Brad in.

Don’t listen to the reviews. It’s great. Grab hold of it and push when you fire. All staples and nails drive home fully. Used over 1000 nails now with only one or 2 blocks which were easily cleared.
Would be better if I could use longer nails but the 35s are the longest.

This machine arrived on time, and having given it a simple test I can declare it is working as expected. But: the packaging outside the carrying case instructs me NOT to use it until I have read the enclosed instructions. There were no instructions in the carrying case whatsoever.
Undaunted, I referred to the Amazon site from which the nail/staple gun was bought. Yes there was a link to download the instructions! I did the download. Passed the printout to my wife who was keen to read them and point out the various features to me. They could not all be identified. THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE FOR A DIFFERENT MODEL! Amazon and Tacwise both take note please.

Very good tool for lightweight use! Having made a number of bird feeders and the like it pins the parts together very well. You do need to ensure a good glue is used as the nails are really very fine pins.

Just make sure you buy the right size nails for the gun as they don`t all fit.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI Bought the Duo35 to help me fix a fence that needed repaired. I found the Duo35 easy to work and make light work of stapling the fence together. I used 30mm staples the longest available in te 91 Staple Selection pack I bought, and the longest staples that the Duo 35 can handle. Once that job was completed I used the Duo35 to tack together some 1″ boards to make 2.4m X 1.2m raised beds. In this case I had to back up the staples with longer nails. Finally, I used 15mm staples to tack ground cover fabric to the sides of the raised beds. So far I have used around 300 staples and not had any jam.
The Duo 35 has exceeded my expectations, especially given the reviews that complained of jammed brads and staples. The only thing I did notice that the 91 staple pack used sellotape to hold the staples in its packing, which leaved a sticky residue on them. I removed this before placing them into the Duo35. I don’t know if this was the cause of some other people’s jams as I had no jams.
So in conclusion I would recommend the DUO35 for anyone who needs some slight stapling and brad nailing, however for slightly more robust use I would consider the Duo50 that can handle 50mm brads and 45mm staples as this may have stopped me having to add nails to my raised beds.

    No Jams Here

Great little tool. I used this and the staples to tack in place polythene lining to roof rafters before adding insulation and boarding. Then fixed loads of paneling.

Easy to use nail/staple gun. Comfortable weight. Recommended to press the gun firmly against the material being stapled to ensure the staple/nail is completely forced into the material.

Been umming and arring about a cheap nail/staple gun for ages and finally went for this – its been amazing. I have a large property and a very large garden but can only do DIY at weekends due to working away in the week. Thus my time is always short. This nail gun has sped up projects beyond all belief – don’t get me wrong we are talking panel pins and staples here not 4″ nails but for example re-stapling 40 feet of wire excluder fence to keep the sheep out the garden took 20 min rather than the half day as normal . Certainly there are more powerful products on the market but at this price point its unbeatable.

Ok as long as you keep your non trigger hand on the top of the gun otherwise the nail will be proud as it jumps off the job !

This product has saved me so much time, so has become one of the most worthwhile purchases I’ve made. For years I’ve been manually banging in nails, but now I’m using this for all nailing tasks. I originally purchased to fit timber cladding in a garden office and it did a super job. You do have to apply a little pressure when firing, which at times is tricky as you may be in a tight gap but not really an issue and not doing this only leave the nail head a few mm out. The cable is a little short, which is my only criticism for a “wired” nailer, but other than that a great item.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI needed this to put up a load of willow fence panels in the garden, it worked a treat with the staples that got recommend to me. Not heavy, easy grip and comfortable to use and packed a punch.
Came in a basic carry case that does the job fine.
Delivery was fast and really well packaged.

This was a great purchase and am very happy with it. Made putting up a shed much quicker and I am sure I will now find other uses for it.

I agree with some of the other reviews that the power cord could be a bit longer (but then it wouldn’t fit in the case/ or would need a bigger case) – in it’s defence even if the power cord was 2m longer you would still have to use it with an extension for a lot of jobs.

This is my first nail gun. I use it for DIY woodwork for stuff around the house (shelving etc). It is great tool and shortens the job and makes them a lot easier if you are working alone. I would recommend this – if you are new to such tools buy the muli-size nail pack so you learn what nail suits what job – and do not skimp on quality nails.

This is a great product, enough power to fire 25mm and 35mm nails below the surface, would suggest against using the 55mm nails as they poke out about 15mm and are very hard to nail straight and below surface as they bend easily. So far I’ve had none get jammed, I’ve yet to try the staples yet. This is a great product for someone who does wanna pay for and setup a compressor air gun. This is way more than just a introductory nail gun, as a experienced carpenter I use this daily! Great for any mouldings when used with glue or hardboard backing for bookshelves or cabinets.

Taking in account it is cheaper now than when I bought it a month ago, the usability of this product for beginners and veterans and the overall performance I gave this a well deserved 5 stars, the only downfall is not being able to use the 55mm nails but that’s something I can live with.

This is a great tool – a lot of power!!

I use it to attach netting for my clematis to wooden garden fences. Hitting it with a hammer is no use as it just bounces. The Tacwise is great. Position it over the netting, press the button. And its in. No bounce back nothing.

Its really easy to load the stables or nails.

I imagine it is difficult to put one through your finger – unless of course you put your hand behind what you are nailng!

The only down side is that the cable is a bit short – thats the only reason it did not get 5 stars

    A great produc

I would recommend this product duo to its great value, ease of use and quick results.

I needed to replace a nailer I had owned for years that had seen better days. After some research, I found that this make and model was the best in the market in terms of value and customer reviews. I was also intrigued by its stapling capabilities and thought its dual purpose could come in handy.
I also own a Tacwise hand stapler which is yet to fail me so I guess I was also following brand from previous experience.

It feels substantial but not heavy to hold which to me, is a sign of good tool. Its powerful enough to sink the nails I have been using and does not leave marks on the surface once you get used to the amount of pressure you should be applying when firing it. I would recommend practising on a bit of scrap wood so that you can get used to the nailer and its power before “going live”.

I only used it to fix plasterboard on to the beams in the garage to create storage space. Used Tacwise 180/30mm nails and out of 1.5 strips (100 nails per strip) It has only jammed once. I was able to clear it quickly thanks to its nose hinge and it has done all that has been asked of it.

In all, very impressed with this tool.

As many other reviewers have mentioned, this product can do simple, small scale jobs well. Unfortunately, if you need to do anything other than fairly standard diy jobs it isn’t quite as good as it first appears. Thicker wood has proved to be too much of a challenge for my son who works as a contractor, but in general he is quite pleased with its performance. He has found it a useful tool to have at hand but occasionally he needs to borrow something more heavy duty.

Tacwise continue to produce tacing and nail products and are fast becoming the industry standard for tacing tools. The only downside is that the tool will only use 1 size of nails purchased only from tacwise.

The tool is easy load, use and has a long enough cord. Tool also comes with a load of nails and comes in an unbreakable sturdy tool case. Using the tool is easy but for the first few nails it does make you jump due to the sheer force of the tool.

Great for light nailing jobs such as architraves and skirting boards but not for seriously heavy jobs, would recommend.

I’ve been very impressed with the Tacwise Duo 35. I’ve used cheaper nail guns before, but have always found that a) they struggle with anything other than soft wood, b) they seem to fire nails out at strange angles, and c) they don’t wear very well.

I’ve used the Tacwise to help with putting up some fencing, and it’s been very good indeed. It’s good for hard wood, and the nails don’t seem to ‘jump’ when they leave the gun, so they seem to go in the right direction. It’s sturdy, but light enough to be able to be used by one-handed if needs be. The cable is quite long, although I had to use a long extension to use it in the garden. It comes with a storage case, instruction manual and a small number of nails and staples, so has everything you need to get started (although you will need to buy more nails pretty quickly).

Excellent when compared to the other two or three nail guns I’ve owned, and recommended.

I’m gonna state a couple of draw backs before we get onto the good points, firstly the unit states not to use an extension cable (which I have and had no issues!) and the nails are quite short as the other fancier models do longer nails and tacks. However for many jobs the length is not an issue.

The best thing with a nail gun is the auto impact that drives the tacks or nails straight in and don’t need you to tap tap tap with a hammer dislodging other parts of your build or making a right old noise. If you’re a thumb whacker you’re also gonna benefit from saving your fingers and also not losing the hammer like I seem to do as an olympic sport along with the screw drivers I lose every job.

It’s not noisy or scary to use, very simple and has a safety tip that you push gently where you want to fire your nail. Then press the trigger and your nail is pushed quickly and not too noisily in to place. Simples. Very well built and sturdy, not an item that will fall apart or fail in the near future.

Extremely simple to use. Just load the cartridge with the nails (it came supplied with a 100 25ml ones), turn it on and press the ‘nose ‘ of the gun down on the target area you wish to nail – then simply press the trigger. With a loud ‘bang’ the nail is driven in; no misfiring or drama. I tested it many times and it was safe and reliable throughout and could manage solidly nailing together two cm thick high-density MDF planks (which is quite impressive for a ‘domestic’ power tool), It seems well made and is reassuringly weighty in the hand and comes with a handy storage case. The only criticism I can think of is the lead is perhaps a little on the short side but, all told, this is a great little product suitable for most DIY jobs.
