Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought this solely to cook a Turkey. Since I’m vegetarian I wanted something that was compact, easily stored but a bright colour to find if needed and cheap. This met all my needs. Plus it had a light to read the temp.the probe folds away easily on a swivel, and it’s magnetic to stick on the side of the microwave.

Excellent design. Congrats to the design team.

But I must remember to out the battery when not in use, which is likely to be months unless it can be used for bread or cakes. Don’t know that yet.

It has a useful booklet in several languages- pity the print was too pale and small to read without a magnifier.

It came in a sturdy box and even had it’s own screw driver to open the battery compartment.
For the cost this was excelle

I bought this for checking the water temperature when making coffee so I can get it just as I like it. Not too has and not too cold.
This item has performed perfectly so far.

A nice compact and easy to use food/meat thermometer. Perhaps the only thing would be a sensor or a button to rotate the temperature display through 180 degrees depending on which way you’re holding it, but really, that’s a minor wish. The backlight is decent and the hold button useful. You can’t use this as a permanent “in food” or “in oven” gauge but that’s not what it was designed for.

A really handy thermometer for my bread making. Helps me ensure the water I’m using is at the correct temperature and that my dough it’s at the right temperature for fermentation. Works a treat, seems to be very accurate and turns its self off after awhile. Comes with a battery and it’s own small screwdriver which was a relief as I didn’t have one that small.

My original review advised not to buy this as it failed after one use, with no way to contact the seller. However, the seller saw my review and contacted me, and immediately sent a replacement.
I love this little gadget, and the replacement seems to be working well. It’s also a fridge magnet, so always to hand.
I’m using it mainly for baking – caramels, custards etc and it’s excellent, plus the customer service is second to none.

I have the ninja food I grill that has a thermometer stick that cooks your meat to perfection but I then also wanted one that I could use on any thing else so this was fairly price and works well the only grumble I have is the light doesn’t stay on long enough to read the temperature.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have recently bought my first basic air fryer and, after my first week of trying it out, I decided I needed to buy my first meat thermometer.
I am still struggling with the air fryer to get the perfect timings for cooking meat but this has been a great help to getting the meat cooked all the way through. I am finding chicken breasts particularly hard as the skinny end bit cooks at a completely different time to the big thick part and what looks perfectly done at one end, is still uncooked inside at the chunky end.
Now, testing with this thermometer, I’m not serving up patches of semi-raw meat anymore.

The thermometer is very easy to use with a simple push button for on or off.
The same button can be held for longer to switch from F to C.
Then there is a choice of having the light on or off. You can also lock the reading once you’ve tested the meat which is very good if you are reaching into an oven for example, and then you can read it without having to lean into the heat.
The spike folds safely away into a locked position when not in use.

To clean, you can simple run the spike under hot water or I use a wet, soapy cloth to wipe it clean and then rinse.
    Don’t immerse in water!
I haven’t tried that but it is common sense to avoid getting a battery operated tool totally wet.

I have been using this for nearly 1 month now (most evenings) and, so far, it has been a thoroughly good and useful kitchen tool which I totally recommend.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI recently purchased the ThermoPro TP03H digital instant-read meat thermometer, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. The thermometer is incredibly fast and accurate, providing temperature readings within just a few seconds. I love how easy it is to read the temperature on the large LCD display, and the option to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius is also a nice touch.

I’ve used the TP03H to cook a variety of meats, and it has never failed to provide quick readings. It has a wide temperature range, which means I can use it for everything from baking to grilling. The steel probe has been very easy to clean after usage. It also has a magnetic back so it can stick onto a fridge or freezer however I would advise place is elsewhere as it is not a strong magnet.

Overall, I would highly recommend the ThermoPro TP03H to anyone in need of a reliable meat thermometer. It’s a great value for its price, and its fast response time and accuracy made it a game-changer in the kitchen for me.

I was expecting this to be a faff to use but it’s very easy. The hardest part is searching the web to find out what temp I want to reach for my recipe. Often the answers on the web are in Fahrenheit but it’s easy to switch the button on the thermometer to change it from Celsius.

This food thermometer really is instant and I think it’s great. However, the calibration is awfully long winded. You have to mix ice cubes and water, wait for the mixture to stabilise, then plunge the probe in and wait till it shows the lowest temperature. Then you can lock in the new calibration. But surely there must be an easier, quicker way.

I have a Thermopro BBQ wireless thermometer system which is a dream to use and is so well designed. I did need a meat thermometer to check that chicken is cooked in the oven so I went for the TP03H.

In the box is the thermometer and batteries. I have to say they looked like cheap and nasty batteries and, the unit needs unscrewing to install so I did install Duracells instead. It comes in the box with a little screw driver which is lovely but a bit overkill as I would imaging most hostholds have one.

Once installed, the batteries are secured with a screw into the compartment. Then they are sealed.

The unit turns on with a single press. You can select F or C scale. USA tends to use F so that is default but, again, it’s a single press to change.

The sensor is a sharp skewer that rotates out on a plastic hinge. Once inserted deep into the meat, the temp stabilises in about 4-5 seconds and gives a really clear and accurate reading.

Chicken should be at 74 deg or so and the ThermoPro gives you a reading in seconds to check your food is cooked and prevent infection risk but also overcooking.

I love this. I was previously using a manual one which was not accurate and a bit tempremental. At 11.99, this is a complete bargain. Well built, accurate, quick and well presented.

This is cheap but by no means nasty. Thoroughly recommended

This food thermometer helps to determine if food, particularly meat, is cooked properly. Just pull out the prong, which switches the unit on, and push into the food and you get an instant readout of temperature.

I also use it for measuring the temperature of liquids.

It is small enough to keep in the cutlery drawer so is always on hand.

Good quality probe thermometer. It is battery operated by one AAA battery which is supplied, the battery by lid is screwed on to which a small screwdriver is supplied also. The probe itself is foldable and can be angled.

It is easy to use and clean, claims to be waterproof but i have not tried this as the battery compartment doesn’t even look watertight and it is easy enough to just wash the probe under water. Quick and accurate, measuring in both celcius and farenheit, i find these brilliant for cooking steaks and using with the barbecue. Features a magnet on the back for sticking it to the extractor hood or fridge in the kitchen which is handy, and has a convenient hanging loop. One very useful feature this has is recommended cooking temperature information on the unit which is great as a reference guide. Going forward I would also like to see these fitted with rechargeable batteries instead.

11.99 (at the time of review) is fair value for this type of product, I have paid around 10 previously for a similar, just as good item.

This thermometer meat probe is easy to use, the probe is long and thin and easily inserted into any meat product. The probe is foldable so it is less likely that you will accidentally get spiked by it, it has an integral hole for using a S hook to hang it by and a magnet on the back for sticking it onto your fridge.
On the back next to the battery compartment (AAA which was included) there is a simple guide to the different recommended temperatures needed for various meats. There was also a small screwdriver included with this probe. Although it says this probe is waterproof I have not tested that, I found it was easy enough to clean the probe itself in hot soapy water without the need to submerse the body.

Well there isn’t much not to like with this instant read thermometer, for the price it’s clearly a budget/entry level instant read probe but for the money also it isn’t far behind some of the ones 2-3 times the price. I have a very large selection and honestly have no issue using this one what do ever.
Response Time: 3-4seconds is a fair statement I have had some that claim times that are false.
Temperature Range: -50C~300C (-58F~572Fyou would not have your food anywhere near any of the low of high ends of these temperatures so it’s totally fit for purpose.
    Temperature Accuracy: 0.5C(0.9F) from 0 to 100C( 32 to 212F )
Testing along side my others it’s definitely close enough.
    Temperature Units: C or F
This is a handy feature as many American guides I follow are in F so it’s good to be able to swap.
    Probe Length: 3.9 inch
It’s a small compact pen that will have a space in my kitchen!
Power Auto-off Time: 10 mins of no use
Ideal as this obviously saves battery another thing to note is that it comes with a supplied battery and small tool to install in.
It also has a magnetic back to it or a hanging hook. Overall this is a good instant read that helped me cook an absolutely stunning tomahawk steak! Wouldn’t be without one these days.

Quite small but perfect for the job

I love this kitchen food thermometer.
It seems very accurate, when tested on boiling water and iced water. It come already calibrated, but can be re calibrated if necessary.
I like the fact that it comes with a screwdriver to open the battery compartment and it includes 1 AAA battery. The box includes an easy to use instruction manual.
The probe end folds out from the main handle of the thermometer. There is a backlight to make it easier to read. There is a useful small temperature chart in the back of the thermometer which can be used for quick reference.
It has a magnetic back and so can be stored on a metal surface like a fridge. There is a loop in the plastic so it could be hung on a hook.
This is an excellent product that I fully recommend.

    Brilliant kitchen food thermometer.

The design is such that you can open up the tip at any angle from 0 degrees to 180 degrees. From the listing, I had thought that it locks into place at 90 and 180 degrees, but instead, it doesn’t lock into place at all. This means that you can measure at any angle smaller than 180 degrees if you had a reason to do so. There is a stop once you reach the maximum angle, but there is no detent that helps it to click into place. The angle is held by friction from the hinge. I’m my experience, opening and closing have been a good experience with the perfect amount of resistance and smoothness – it feels like it can hold its angle perfectly well itself.

There is also a clip which means that the needle clips to hold shut. As I’ve described before, I don’t really think that this is particularly necessary, but it’s nice that there was the thought to do such a thing.

On the underside, there are two rubbery pads, which are also shown in the listing photo. The photo suggests that it prevents it from ‘skidding’ on the table, and while this does prevent that potential scenario, realistically no one will have that problem on a table, especially with something this shape. The real reason for these I believe is when attaching to a wall or surface with the magnet embedded inside as they allow more friction, decreasing the chance of it sliding down the surface.

On the back is also the battery compartment which houses the single AAA battery required (which is included), as well as suggested internal temperatures for meats. This would be good for someone like a University student who may not be too familiar with cooking for themselves yet. There is also a water-resistance rating for this, and you can see the attempt at keeping the electronics dry with the seal around the battery.

On the front face, you can see the power button, the display, a locking/calibrating button and a light button. The on button does what you’d expect it to do, with an added function of changing between degrees C and degrees Fahrenheit with a long press while on. The lock function essentially freezes the value recorded at the instant the button is pressed. There is also the calibration feature which is switched on with this button, although they say that there shouldn’t be a need to do this as this is done ‘precisely at the manufacturing facility. But essentially, calibrating the thermometer is setting it in a solution at 0 degrees C and clicking ‘okay’ to program the thermometer to 0 in that particular (ice-water) solution. The light button controls the backlight. The colour of the backlight is orange, and the numbers are easier to read with the light on.

Unfortunately, as you’ve probably guessed from the heading, I had some problems with the threads holding the battery compartment on and secure. They include a small screwdriver which is a nice touch, and it’s of a decent size for the screw (but not perfect, so be careful with stripping). What happened to me is when I first unscrewed it to open it, it took an extraordinary amount of force to open it. Alarm bells should have been ringing at that time. To cut a long story short, I could not get the screw into the brass threaded inserts at all – they would all end up screwing up halfway through and then stopping. I’m not sure why this could happen, but it could be a combination of a bad threaded insert or something bad during the manufacturing/assembly process. I didn’t want to break anything, and even more so strip the screw while it was stuck, so I gave up with it and the water-resistant rating, and just held the two parts with tape for the moment.

Doing it like this, the thermometer still works perfectly well, and I was able to test several temperatures with this.

I have bought other products from thermopro, and they have all worked well without problems, so I am just assuming that this is a one-off problem with my particular unit.

Overall, I have been really unlucky with my unit, and since I am classing this as a one-off, then this problem does not affect the rating. I would indeed recommend this product as it does its job well and feels of good quality. The closing feature both prevents the chance of being poked/stabbed by the tip and is shorter in length to one without this mechanism. Magnets seem to be in most of their products and maintain to be a very nice feature to stick on a fridge.

Would have been perfect if it wasn't for the threads...

Really great thermometer for food. Very robust build with nice quality plastic and metal probe. Large display with lit background and calibration mode as well lock mode. It does have magnets and hook for easy storage especially in kitchen will be always close for easy access.

Very accurate reading however i cannot tell that it is instant reading. After putting probe into pan temperature increases from what it was before i put. Took couple second from 22C to get to 96C, it wasn’t instant like on video released by producent. Plus for supplying battery as well small screwdriver, flap securing battery is sealed which makes it great waterproof thermometer. Price is actually at 10.19 which is awesome price for this kind of device. Bargain.

Easy to use, easy to read display

Although this thermometer is primarily aimed at those who cook meat — which I don;t — I have used it for baking, and found it useful and accurate when compared with a rather elderly one.

Simplicity itself to use — first install the battery provided (hurray), using the little screwdriver, also provided (hurray again), and you’re good to go. Switch on, select the type of temperature reading — Celsius or Fahrenheit — swing the probe out from the orange handle, wipe clean and poke into an appropriate part of the food to be tested. It really is that simple. The reading stays visible on the display window for a few seconds. Wipe probe clean, fold back and store until you next need it.

The function buttons are clearly marked, the display window is clear and has a backlight, and the whole thing is light, small and easily stored. What else could you want!

Good quality product as a reasonable price.

I tested on chicken thighs sizzling on a George Foreman grill. It seems to work well as the sharp probe easily gets to the middle of the chicken pieces. In Celsius, I measured 80C to 85C across the many pieces cooking. I had to take care not to push too far to avoid probing the grill’s surface instead of the chicken. Overall – it seems to work well. Neat little gadget that will come in handy for barbecues; making sure the meat is up to high temp, to cook from inside.

Downside: the back-light on the screen turns off quickly. I realize there is a Lock function on the device, but I’d rather see the reading well lit. The probe is a touch short — so if you are roasting a very large turkey — it may not get to the middle of the breasts as it should.

    I can recommend: for barbecues

Whilst it may look plasticky, this is a well made Digital Food Thermometer with lots of nice touches.

In the box you get the thermometer, manual, a AAA battery and small Phillips screw driver.

The battery is easy to insert once you’ve unscrewed the battery cover. Once undone, the screw is retained in the cover, so there is no chance of losing it.

The thermometer measures in both centigrade and Fahrenheit and has a good temperature range, making it useful for lots of different tasks. Unfortunately I am not able to test how accurate it is at all temperature ranges, but in the ranges I could, it was accurate, so I have no reason to doubt it. Should it ever seem to not be reading the correct temperature, there is a button that allows you to reset the callibration, and the method for doing so explained clearly in the manual.

Fully extended the thermometer is approx 25.3cm long, 3cm wide and 2cm thick. The probe itself is 9.9cm long and 3mm in diameter for most its length.

The display is clear with the whole numbers being 1cm x 0.5cm in size. It has a bright backlight which shuts off after a few seconds. It also features an auto-shut off to save batteries

The thermometer has an IPX6 rating of 6, which means it can be rinsed under water, however it is not waterproof, so should not be imersed under water.

If you would rather hang the thermometer up than have it in a draw, the thermometer has both a loop at the end to hang it from a hook, and a built in magnet to attach it to anything metal.

This is a really nice product that I fully recommend.

We wanted a thermometer mainly for making soups, broths, stocks, and baking. After making a veggie soup and a stock, I wanted to share this review.
This thermometer is very easy to set up with a screwdriver that comes in the box and a battery. The thermometer is also simple and easy to use with accurate readings (based on what I can tell although I haven’t compared it with another thermometer).
The magnetic part would work well, I assume, if you have a fridge to put it on although we just put the thermometerwith our other utensils and cookware appliances. I would recommend especially againstcomparably priced thermometers.

Just the thing for dinners and BBQ — you can’t be too careful and we have enough to worry about with Covid without worrying about uncooked meat. Simple to set up and ideal extended size for use with a hot oven without having to reach in too far. Temperature reading is fast and easy to read and the skewer is simple to clean after use. The fold-away skewer makes the thermometer ideal for storing in the cutlery drawer. Good product.

My wife and I love this product, she’s been wanting one for years just never actually got one for some reason. It’s fantastic, takes the stress out of cooking meat like pork and chicken which couldnbe worrying, specially when cooking for children. My wife also is a fantastic home baker so this has helped her with breads and frying.

The screen is very clear and it also has a back light.

I love that this ca! With a tiny screwdriver and battery, no need to run about to the shed or garage to attempt to find something small enough to open up the battery compartme

Full disclosure – I wasn’t actually planning to use this as a proper cooking thermometer. I while ago I bought a candle-making kit from Amazon, but it arrived with a broken thermometer.

Rather than the hassle of a whole return/replacement thing (which isn’t quite as easy as it used to be), I decided just to buy another cooking thermometer, just for the candle making.

    So I bought this.

It’s WAY too good to waste on just candle making, so my existing thermometer (with which, I should say, I’ve always been VERY happy) has been demoted to candle-making, and this is my nice new cooking thermometer. Easy to use, accurate, easy to read, and even looks pretty good.

If you’re in the market for one of these (for ANY purpose) I’m happy to recommend this one.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery handy digital food thermometer, with magnet installed for easy storage, just switch on, test the food with the probe for a reading and a choice of a back-light if you have difficulty reading the temperature, this is ideal and very easy to use.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI often cook chicken at home, and decided that a digital meat thermometer would be much easier than having to cut into the chicken to see if it looks cooked.

This ThermoPro thermometer is very easy to use, and the readings are very quick to register. Two other useful benefits are that it is waterproof to an IPX6 rating, and also has a strong magnet for fixing it to a metal surface if you want to.

There is a backlight for the digital display, which will stay on for 15 seconds, and an auto off after 10 minutes, both designed to save your battery, which is a single AAA battery and is included in the box. You can choose between Centigrade or Fahrenheit, depending on what you prefer.

This feels very sturdy and well made, the probe is a good length and folds away nicely to prevent you prodding yourself on it accidently. Less important is that it is a nice colour, orange and grey.

In the box you get the thermometer, an AAA battery, a screwdriver for accessing the battery compartment and a users manual. At just under 12 this seems very good value for money.

We have had a Thermapen cooking thermometer for years now and, well – they are top notch and I would still say worth the high price. This one, however, at half that price or less, and from an excellent manufacturer famous for their good service, is frankly, rather special. Ours is very accurate, matching our other one, and it reads very quickly, taking just a few seconds to stabilise.

Price wise, there seems to be one on Amazon currently at under 12.00 and even, at August 2021, with an extra15% discount. I’m not sure why this is and just might be a mistake, but even at the usual Amazon price of just over 20.00, this is surely an excellent piece of top-branded kitchen kit that should last for years and give sterling service.

As in the title the three attributes of this meat thermometer are that it has a decent length probe, it gives a quick readout which is easy to read and it is waterproof so it can easily be cleaned. After use it can be folded and put away easily. Good value well made little thermometer.
