I’ve got this set up to monitor my conservatory doors. It’s integrated with Apple HomeKit so you can view it live on your TV, if you have AppleTV, and on your phone. I’ve basically got it set up so if it detects motion after I go to bed, all the Hue lights in the house turn on. If night vision isn’t on, it can detect motion through glass at night. It does sometimes disconnect but I think that’s to do with how far away it is from the router. It recently had a firmware update and hasn’t happened as much since, so maybe it was that!

Considering getting another to keep an eye on the dog!

This camera is a great start if you’re wanting to protect your home with CCTV. Got this set up with an Appletv home hub and it provides great cloud storage and access to lots of other devices. Got a PIR sensor for the same company that now turns on the porch light when someone approaches the front door.

I previously tried a cheaper camera, made by an offshoot of a well know accessory supplier, that supposedly offered HomeKit support, but was disappointed. The Aqara G2H is so far excellent – well worth spending the extra over the other one. I think using HomeKit, this has been the easiest to setup security camera I’ve ever come across, without the need to use any suspect third-party apps or accounts.

This camera is really good and also works with apple HomeKit, it was really easy to set up, you just scan the QR code on the bottom and the camera instantly gets added to your home app, no need to enter WiFi details or anything, I’m using mine with apple secure video and it’s working really well

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI had my suspicions that my wife was going though my things, we are currently going though a divorce! Had been married over 30 years, wish I had this many years ago, now do you do anything to cover my bank accounts too?

Seriously the quality of the camera is brilliant, I get a notification as soon as the door is opened when I’m away, just 2 mins up the road she was in, so I turned around a caught her out.
On a lighter note this is well worth the money and connects natively to my iPhone home app, I can see so many uses for this when I finally move home, Aqara is well made, it has a magnetic base and will stick to the metal under the plaster on the walls so no need to drill any holes.

All in all I’m very happy with my purchase

    Hi
While these may not be as pretty as Logitech’s camera
    They perform a lot better.
I’ve been having a rewire of my property so the power has been turned off and on a lot.
These cameras reconnected every time without me having to do anything unlike logitechs that have to be reset and deleted from HomeKit and reinstalled.
They integrate with homekit very well and they have an app for updates. And they do everything that logitechs cameras do Such as face recognition and activity zones but I am yet to try these.
Get these not Logitech and they’re are also cheaper.
The photos are to show the quality of the night vision.

    Better than Logitech circle

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHomekit is starting (finally!) to expand and when I was looking for a camera this one came up a few times as recommended, you clearly pay a premium for the Homekit capability but I would have to say it is worth it. I’m moving away from Alexa based to use Homekit more and have many cameras which are not Homekit compatible, after the experience with this one I will start migrating all of them to Homekit cameras, likely this model.

Installation and setup is easy, picture quality is good, not great, integration with Homekit and your photos (with iOS 15 – I think) is great, it notifies me when the kids are back from school and can recognise my dog waiting by the front door for me to come home, you can customise these notifications to what works for you.

I had to download the manufacturer’s app to update the firmware but didn’t have to create an account to do it, good on them for that feature.

Overall I’m happy with the purchase and will be likely buying more.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had been on the lookout for a HomeKit secure video camera and thought I’d try this one out. Setup via HomeKit was very easy (just scan the QR code on the bottom) and so far it’s bee working great. I really like being able to access the videos directly from the Home app and change all of its settings. Would definitely recommend.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI had some difficulties with setup.
I was looking for a not expensive but working Homekit camera.
Overall, if all the conditions are met, it is very easy and fast to configure as a Homekit device and then it seems it works OK so far. I don’t need superior quality, it is just a security device, I needed Homekit to easily upload videos about activity in the hallway to the cloud. It does the job.
However, you can’t find it anywhere in their description that if your wireless network name contains any special characters, you can’t connect it to Homekit (strangely, their own app works). Since many internet service providers use hyphen (-) in their default wireless network name on their router you get, this is a problem. Therefore I had to rename my wireless network. Once there are only alphanumerical characthers in the name of wireless network, it works.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought one of these, along with a Eufy 2K Pan and Tilt camera, to test them out with Homekit. The Eufy camera is problematic — often offline, unresponsive and requiring a restart. This Aqara camera however always connects within a second, and just keeps working in the background without intervention. If you set the camera up within the Aqara app (as well as Homekit) then it can additionally record continuously to an installed SD card. It also offers push-to-talk within Homekit itself, something the Eufy does not. I am ordering another one of these to replace the Eufy.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersSo far have ordered three of these and one went back due to fault with it resetting itself and looping in setup mode. The two that are left no real issues, everything is as you’d expect, You can install with homekit or their own application which adds some features but then isn’t secure.

The issue I had and its not a fault of machine more homekit is there is no flip view mode for the camera, However the camera has a magnetic base so for three quid I made a quick bracket so I can hang it correct way up in the garage. (I did read install the app and switch it round there but when you do that and then revert to secure it loses it).

I think biggest gripe for me is the price its just too expensive against its competitors – Seems homekit part is attracting apple tax

Homekit compatible with a few caveats

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese are wonderful little cameras, simple to add to HomeKit, easy to install with a very versatile stand and produce a crystal clear picture. The nighttime picture is one of the best as is the sound quality from the microphone. I have already purchased two and plan to buy at few more soon.
