Prints very well – bit disappointed in the dual printing – can’t stop the oozing – yet – guess I will master it someday!
Overall I’d say that it’s worth the money for an enclosed preassembled 3d printer. The SD card is kinda garbage the machine reads .3xg files and so .stl files won’t display on the machine I did manage to get an .fpp to display but it’s finicky. The USB b cable might work on a Debian Linux or Mac or older version of windows only 7 and xp drivers from the manufacturer. Probably a generic driver might work but depends more on the machines firmware whether it might interpret the wrong thing. Wifi connection is out of the box usable although unsecured so hypothetically I could be wardriving and print a giant dildo on your 3d printer… not that I would just saying. Although you can stream a print and then disconnect your computer and it will continue to print. Only made one print so far 14 hours had an issue also software related. The x axis limit switch would engage illuminate the green led indicator during homing but grind into the wall. Obviously the motor wasn’t disengaging… checked the connectors all were seated noticed the x axis motor however was hot in idle but could move in manual mode. So that means the microcontroller was probably reading the pin values wrong. Hard reset did nothing as these are stored in non volatile memory so I disconnected the wiring harness and reconnected it which zeros the values. And viola works like it did now. Point being that there are some technical things that will occur you’ll have to figure out as you go but it’s fun so I’d say pull the trigger and buy it.
Ist schon ein Prachtstck, was man da aus dem gut und durchdacht verpackten Karton holt. Es ist ratsam, fr das Auspacken direkt schon nach Anleitung zu verfahren; man wollte offensichtlich keine bisschen Stauraum verschwenden und entsprechend kompakt ist verpackt worden. Anleitung ist aber top, also kein Problem.
Die beiden mitgelieferten PLA Rollen haben ein etwas ungewohntes Format – verhltnismig klein im Durchmesser. Und genau da liegt schon der erste Fallstrick und schreit nach Umbau: Die Rollenhalterungen links und rechts sind so kurz ber der Mulde gehalten, dass auch nur dieses Sonderformat Rollen passen will. Eine normale Rolle, wie man sie tausendfach hier und anderswo erhalten kann, passt schlichtweg nicht.
Das erste war also ein Inbusschlssel und raus mit den Halterungen. An der Gegenseite sind diese mit einer Mutter gekontert; Fllt also auf die Bodenplatte (die muss zum wieder zusammen Bau eh ab). Ein Distanzstck im CAD entworfen, 2cm hoch (dass die Rollen dennoch gut unter den Dsen bleiben), unter gebaut, lngere Schrauben rein und wieder zusammen gebaut. Nun passen alle Rollen. Die Bilder erzhlen den vorher-hinterher Status von links nach rechts und den Vergleich beider Rollen im Gehuse spter.
Im Anschluss diesen Wrfel aus zwei Materialien gedruckt (ist auf der Speicherkarte dabei) – ind 2std 40min, eine mittlere Zeit fr dieses Teil. Negativ hierbei ist, dass die jeweils ausgesetzte Dse natrlich hei bleibt und somit immer etwas Material heraus luft – welches dann, wenn die Dse wieder drucken soll, an der Kante vom Objekt abgestreift wird und mit der Zeit links und rechts ein ziemliches Gefussel entstehen lsst. Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass zB der Spaghetti Detectiv hierbei bereits Alarm gibt und uU den Ausdruck unterbricht. Ebenfalls ist denkbar, dass eine Dse an dem Zeugs hngen bleibt und das Bauteil verschiebt.
Womit wir bei der Haftung sind: Einwandfrei. Der Wrfel lie sich problem- und Rckstandslos lsen (Wie auch die Reste vom Andrucken selbst). Leveln geht halbautomatisch ber drei Punkte, das Gert fhrt an die Stelle und man selbst stellt die Hhe mit einer Leveling Card ein (zwischen Dse und Bett, wie gehabt.
Das Gert ist relativ laut, bedingt durch die beiden Gehuselfter. Dazu kommen drei Lfter am Druckkopf und einer am Netzteil. So ein Gert muss leider im Keller seinen Dienst verrichten, sonst wird es recht laut.
Das waren so die Dinge, die dabei auf Anhieb aufgefallen sind im Testdruck. Auch wenn das nun viel klingt, ist das dennoch ein Gert mit 4 Sternen; die meisten Probleme lassen sich kurzerhand lsen – und das 6 Lfter nicht leise sein, kann man sich auch denken.
Das Gert macht einen guten Gesamteindruck, die Druckqualitt ist sehr viel glatter als bei blichen Ausdrucken mit 0.4er Dsen. Dieses Gert ist hier hauptschlich fr ABS/PETG Drucke sowie fr Drucke mit PVA-Sttzen vorgesehen. Wie es sich dabei verhlt, werde ich zu gegebener Zeit nachliefern.

I like everything about this machine so far. Any problems that have occurred were user error and have been corrected.
Using several materials at once is a snap with dual head convenience.
I’ve had my printer for about a week and have made about 2 dozen prints. I haven’t had a single issue so far creating accurate prints in a reasonable amount of time. The instructions that came with it are simple and easy to follow, which came in handy as this is my first 3d printer.

This is my first 3d printer but i have experience using them at work. I thought this would be a good starting point for me and i was right. Easy to use and prints a nice product.
L’imprimante arrive trs bien emballe. Il y a juste la rampe d’extrudeurs fixer par 2 vis fournies. Une carte SD de 16GB est livre avec de la documentation et des vidos. il est bon de connatre le Chinois, l’Anglais est prsent aussi (sauf pour les vidos) Le Franais est tristement absent de la documentation. L’imprimante se pilote grce un cran couleur tactile (en Franais) un peu ” dur d’oreille” parfois. Pour la partie logicielle il vaut mieux tlcharger Flashprint sur le net car les versions fournies sur la carte SD sont plutt anciennes, voire obsoltes. La structure de l’imprimante est en plastique (pas de chssis mtallique, sauf pour la base), de fait elle n’est pas trop lourde. Elle peut se paramtrer en point d’accs wifi avec lequel le logiciel Flashprint va interagir pour piloter l’imprimante et surveiller la progression des impressions. Le niveau sonore est assez lev, surtout quand les ventilateurs arrires se dclenchent. De plus l’imprimante signale sa mise en route et la fin d’une impression par des jingles assez sonores. Les impressions sont de belle qualit et prcises, les 2 bobines de PLA fournies donnent de bon rsultats. J’utilise Simplify 3D pour le tranchage des modles, mme si il est plutt cher car Flashprint n’est vraiment pas au niveau. Quand on utilise le tapis adhsif fourni pour mettre sur le plateau les pices y adhrent trs fort alors je vais remplacer a par un tapis flexible aimant. Penser bien soigner la mise niveau du plateau avant impression. Au bilan je suis satisfait de cette imprimante pour la qualit des rsultats obtenus pour un prix trs raisonnable.
I bought a certified used printer from Amazon; it came fast and was in the original box. A small bit of the excitement of receiving a new toy was lost upon opening due to this fact, for it lacked the original (wasteful) packaging and that new sparkle if you know what I mean. Americans are so wasteful, I include myself.
Anyhow, excitedly I plugged her in and tried to get to work. I realized that I knew nothing about it’s operation and so I watched a few YouTube videos, and found them to be helpful and plentiful. So the setup (used), mechanics, lcd screen, and WiFi connection all proved to be super easy.
The printing was unparalleled, the quality was like ‘holy crap’ that kind of real professional level printing. At the same time it sounded like an airplane was taking off in my room, so any assertions that this is a quiet printer are ridiculous lies. Sorry to use such strong language, but lies is what they are.
So I resigned myself to it being a daytime printer. No big deal. Then it shorted out halfway through my second print, and the again, 5 times she did this. Then it put it back in the box and contacted Amazon. Super easy refund process, FedEx came and picked it up for me. I feel super sad she is going, but at the same time it’s not cheap to be running with issues like that, but I’m sure it was just that machine.

una buona stampante per chi fa un po’ di tutto. Mi riferisco ai materiali. Essendo chiusa stampa bene l ABS. Una sola pecca la rumorosit delle ventole di ricircolo. Mi aspettavo almeno una griglia con la spugna che fa da filtro ed un contenitore dove inserire i filtri in carbonio quando si stampa ABS. In ogni caso una buona stampante
Great quality prints right out of the box with both PLA and TPU. With a bit of fine tuning in the settings the prints are superb.

Pros:

Biggest would have to be the build plate size, way too small for larger prints
Bed doesn’t allow you to remove it from the machine after prints
Extruder tip had to be changed pretty quickly, new tip works great
I think the pros outweigh the cons but if you want to do larger prints this isn’t a good choice because cutting a model in three sections and printing like that just seems like too much work. I’ve found out that with this printer as well the PLA and PETG at least for me worked the best. I wasn’t able to get PLA+ to stick for anything and ABS is hard to print because the machine isn’t recommended to print at higher temperatures, it gives you a warning and tells you it could mess up the extruder if you choose to print too high. All and all good machine, I like the enclosure most of all and since the build plate is small I bought another 3d printer with a bigger build area.
This 3d printer has been a lot of fun for me. Very nice quality product. This is my 1st 3D printer and I’m learning a lot about proper temperature, product sticking to bed, different materials to use, etc. It is simple to use has great instructions and works well. If your new to 3d printing like I was you’ll like this printer. There is a “LOT” of information online about this printer simply type in your problem and any problems you might think you have “other people have already solved it” you can read how the problem was solved online simply by reading what others have done to fix it. I’m considering a second machine and it will be another flashforge printer.
In my first week using this printer I had a broken filament piece get stuck between the extruder and the mechanism that feeds it into the extruder. I was able to fix it. In fact, the entire assembly is relatively easy to take apart. Granted, I watched a few YouTube videos to diagnose the problem before I even started. This issue will happen with any 3D printer. I write about it here to let folks know that a guy who has, over the past 20 years, wound up tightening about 40% of the screws he had been attempting to loosen (“oh, the other lefty…”) can make adjustments and fix basic issues with this machine. It is intuitive and relatively easy to see how the basic functions of it work.
Pros:
-With decent filament, print quality is awesome.
-The machine is quieter than I had anticipated when in operation. You can still hear it the next room over, but it isn’t that bad at all. I can easily work in the same room when it is printing. My colleagues also cannot hear it printing during teleconference calls when the printer is less than 10 feet away.
-I actually like the Flashprint software it comes with. More experienced folks will like upgrade to Simplify3D or Cura, but Flashprint does everything you need it to do and is super simple to understand. This makes it great for a beginner.
-I haven’t tried the WiFi feature yet, but connection with USB was smooth and did not require any work on my end. I find myself using the SD card method most often for small things.
-Overall, really easy to use. In the few weeks I’ve had it, it has largely been a joy to use and a great learning experience. I’m happy I bought it.
Cons
-The PLA that came with the printer was…not the best quality. Being inexperienced, I hadn’t realized that. It works for trying the printer out and learning, but you’ll want better quality filament soon enough.
-The filament spool holder does not hold standard 1 KG spools. Your first order of business will be to print a spool holder mod (there are many on Thingiverse). You’ll also want to invest in a dry box for your spools with any printer you get. You’ll be printing some desiccant holders, which this printer can do quite well. I don’t even bother keeping the filament inside of the printer any longer, but it is a nice option to have.
-Access to opening the extruder assembly to get broken filament could be a little easier. The filament it shipped with was brittle out of the box and broke inside the extruder assembly within a few hours of first use. An assembly that requires fewer spacers and tiny screws to lose would be helpful.
-The print area is somewhat small, but large enough for the time being.
These cons a nitpicky – which is a good thing. There have been some purchases I immediately regretted making, but this is not one of them. I’ve even graduated to learning how to make my own designs using Fusion 360, putting my left-right analysis skills to the test. If you buy this, do invest in a magnetic bed to remove prints. It costs $44 directly from Flashforge and it was definitely a good buy.

Print bed is kinda small for the price. I read somewhere that this doesn’t fit 1kg spools. I had some laying around and they fit just fine with some patience.

I was surprised at how easy it actually was to get setup! I was able to start printing within an hour of unboxing. My review is based on the price point as I’m sure my prints are not the highest of quality but I was very happy based on the cost.
The printer was set up and printing accurately within 30 minutes. Installing the extruder was the most difficult part, but that was only because I was having trouble lining up the provided bolts. I feel like that’s more due to my lack of dexterity then a design flaw.
Print accuracy seems to be perfect. I printed the 40mm x 40mm test cube and measured with some Calipers: 40.0mm x 40.05mm, which is absolutely fine for my purposes.
I also printed a “Benchy” benchmarking print (see pic # 1.) This printer handled PLA printing with ease. It had no problems, and the unsupported overhang in the cabin of the boat worked well. The Benchy on the right is with the door and top closed, and the Benchy on the left is with the door and top open as recommended. I can’t really see much of a practical difference, so cooling for PLA seems to be very good even with the printer completely closed (and slightly quieter)
Zeroing the Z-axis is easy as pie, the printer runs you though the process.
Replacing the filament is also very easy, the machine runs you though the process.
Printing time seems reasonable.
The provided toolkit is very useful for both installing and general use of the printer.
The printer is well lit, which is helpful when checking on the printer during prints. (See pic #2.) This was at night for context.
Cons:
It is a little frustrating that most filaments sizes will not fit inside the enclosure out of the box. Fortunately, I was able to find an adapter for larger filament sizes on Thingiverse, so now I can print with Hatchbox 1kg spools without having to run the spools though the top of the printer. I recommend you do the same so you can use more economical filaments.
The printer is louder then I expected considering it’s enclosed. This is fine for me, since I put it in a closet in my room, but unless you have a separate room available, it might be a bit annoying. This is a problems with most 3D printers, so I’m really not that upset about it.
I would have liked to see some Nippers in the box to nip off things like support material, but honestly I can’t really complain too much about that since I was able to use a knife to remove support materials so far.
I am running into a squeak during operation after only about 15 hours of use, and I’m not sure where it’s coming from. I don’t see any damage on any of the rails, so I’m not sure what’s causing it. Just figured I’d mention it.

I’m new to 3D printing so I was looking for something plug and play. This is about 15 minutes to set up. One thing that I wish I knew before buying is that FlashPrint only works with MAC and Windows. That means that you can’t use a C or iPad.
Printing various .stl files took a little trial and error. As you can see in the photo the right hand corner did not adhere. This was a big upgrade from the previous prints that could be crushed in my hand. The fix I found was high heat, slow extruder speed, and leveling the platform.

Since I bought mine about a year ago all I have ever had to do is simple things like level the bed, clean off the nozzle and apply small bits of oil.
Nothing at all like my other printers.
I have owned 5 printers over the years from 4 companies.
This is by far the best out of them all.
I call mine “Old faithful.”
Has a smaller print area than most of my other machines but that is the only drawback I have seen so far of any note.
Better customer service than other companies too.
All around its been way less stressful than my other machines.
I have printed PLA, PLA+, ABS, PETG and more on this machine with no problems.
Not a paid review, even when companies like Sunlu try to bribe me I refuse to do such a thing.
Reviews should be based off the products quality not what kickbacks are involved.

Ce solo da fissare l’estrusore e livellare il piatto, in dotazione una bobina di pla e una di abs, alloggiamento bobine da 700gr max interno ai lati del piatto.
Prime stampe ok, unica pecca e la temperatura estrusore max 240gradi.
After the sample file printed, I went into making stuff that I wanted and the only growing pain I experienced was not realizing the usefulness of making sure I use “Supports” for some of the builds I tried.
This machine made me feel so confident, I purchased a 2nd one but one of the cheaper ones on Amazon for a larger build volume and well let’s just say, I’m exchanging the 2nd machine for a new one because either the machine was busted but Auto-leveling or Manual leveling should not have been as complicated as that machine made it.
PROS:
+Self contained, no worries of anything somehow flying into the build.
+Quick Setup
+Proprietary Print software so you don’t need to muddle about Cura, etc.
+Super easy to figure out and just start churning builds (Thanks to the 2 prior PROS)

CONS:
-Spool Holder is kind of flimsy, I pulled better holder off of Thingiverse to fix that.
-It’s only my first machine, but it feels super super hard to remove builds. So we wary of that when making smaller items that aren’t sturdy, USE A RAFT.
-Price, but I don’t mind because of the PROS that I like so much
For 500 this 3d print works great; does exactly what it needs to and works within half an hour of unboxing.
Pretty good results for the price. Easy to get up an running.
My main usage is to create patterns for sand casting. Did a pretty good job. Usable prints.
It is very easy to setup and the print quality is outstanding.
I bought some ABS filement ages ago by mistake, so thought I would try it. I know it is notoriously difficult to print without warping etc, but has to be worth a go. Prints perfectly, no warping as long as the bed is properly levelled.
I have used PLA and PETG too with no issues.
The print bed is fantastic, I use no adhesive or tape for anything I print, regardless of filament type.
The software is simple to use. You can adjust the object size, rotate and move it around with ease. Admittedly, I have used it before with my Flashforge Finder but it is always being updated and improved. I use Cura too, but Flashprint works great so I stick with that on this printer.
The supplied filament prints nicely but is badly wound and I have had a failed print because of it.
Hopefully not all are like it but something to watch out for.
So, if you are in the market for an out of the box, ready to go 3D Printer, I highly recommend this, I absolutely love it.

This printer was the best choice.
After two months I had a failure of the LCD/Touch screen and Flashforge sent me a replacement very quickly.
I installed it and it’s worker great again.

La impresora funciona muy bien y las impresiones son muy buenas.
Using the FlashForge software FlashPrint, I was able to import the client’s .stl file, duplicate for multiple prints, set the flexible filament type, then connect to the Dreamer NX via WiFi (or included SD card) and copy the gcode file over to the machine’s hard drive. Now there is a picture of my 12 gaskets on the Dreamer NX screen. My child can select that and press print.
The printers did the job, printing medical PPE parts for hospitals facing Coronavirus. The specialized parts were gaskets printed in TPU Flexible Filament. These two Dreamer NXs got the job done and more than paid for themselves.
The Dreamer NX is “single extruder” with all the settings I needed. It was affordable and in stock with immediate shipping. I was looking for a workhorse to pump out flexible filament parts 12 at a time, 24 hours a day, for weeks. The Dreamer NX did the job before the other choices would have arrived.

Acquistata per la compattezza (tutta chiusa con l’alloggiamento per i filamenti all’interno), cosa che la rende compatibile con il poco spazio di cui dispongo (e con mia moglie!)
Messa in funzione in circa 15 minuti dopo averla tolta dall’imballaggio, basta montare con due viti il corpo degli estrusori sul relativo carrello.
Molto facile da usare grazie al touchscreen e molto comoda la connessione WiFi per stampe rapide di piccole dimensioni (per quelle grandi conviene usare la SD perch la connessione WiFi non precisamente un fulmine di guerra).
Il software di slicing in dtazione molto completo ma secondo me ha una gestione delle configurazioni di stampa un po’ farraginosa ed facile sovrascrivere una configurazione funzionante con una che si sta testando. Nei parametri ‘Advanced’ il coefficiente ‘Extrusion ratio’ era stranamente preimpostato a 109%. Ci causa una forte sovraestrusione visibile soprattutto nello strato finale dei pezzi e nelle dimensioni dei dettagli (una parete da 0,8 mm diventa spessa 1,1 mm). Con il filamento in dotazione (due bobine di PLA, una bianca e una blu) ho dovuto abbassare questo parametro a 90%. Dopo la modifica la precisione aumentata notevolmente (1 centesimo di mm di errore sulla parete da 0,8 mm)
Sulla SD in dotazione c’ anche il software di modellazione Happy3D che per non ho ancora provato (uso FreeCAD)
Consiglio di stampare il kit di upgrade dei supporti di filamento per poter installare bobine pi grandi di quelle consentite con i supporti standard (che non sono facilmente reperibili)
La struttura chiusa consente di controllare perfettamente anche la temperatura quando si stampa in ABS e ho disegnato, stampato e installato due cassette per alloggiare due filtri ai carboni attivi sulle due ventole di uscita per abbattere l’odore e le proteste della moglie.
Al momento ho stampato PLA e ABS senza problemi per circa 200 ore. E’ vero quello che hanno scritto in altre recensioni: il software non in italiano, ma forse, per questo tipo di prodotto, non una mancanza poi cos grave…
Nelle foto un adattatore per il foro centrale delle bobine di filamento e i due filtri ai carboni attivi installati sulle ventole di estrazione aria.
Tutto sommato sono soddisfatto dell’acquisto. Non metto la quinta stella per il prezzo (pi alto di quello di macchine simili) e perch essendo la mia prima stampante 3D non posso fare confronti con altre.
Aggiornamento dopo circa 400 ore di utilizzo.

Wenn man nach dem drucken die Druckdsen und die Druckplatte reinigt klappt der Drucker sehr gut.
Ab und zu kalibrieren.
I’ve had this for a couple of months now and I am very happy with it. Once out of the box all that is needed is to attach the extruders (2xscrews) and your up and running or printing. There are 2 fans in the back wall which can sound fairly loud but can be turned off in the setting menu. Other than that I have had no problems at all, I am printing with PLA or PET G, I don’t like the smell of ABS. The first thing I printed were 2 filament holders that fit on the back so that I could use 1kg drums, if you want to keep the filament inside you are tied to 500g (works out a bit dearer). All in all a good printer.
Ich hatte vorher einen anderen Drucker und ein wenig Erfahrung ist somit vorhanden. Daher wei ich mittlerweile was wichtig ist (fr mich) und was weniger. Ein Beispiel: Der Vorgnger hatte Auto Leveling … das nicht funktionierte … der Flashforge hat das nicht, dafr stelle ich 1x das Bett ein, was mich rund 5 Minuten kostet und dann luft das wochenlang, bis ich denke, dass knnte nochmal berprft werden.
Das Alu-Druckbett des Druckers ist sehr eben, mitgeliefert werden aufklebbare Dauerdruckoberflchen ( 1 war bereits aufgeklebt plus 2 Stk. Ersatz), die ich sehr gut finde….Sie arbeiten mit PLA, ABS und Flexfilament… ich wollte mit wasserlslichem Sttzfilament drucken, das hat dann aber nicht funktioniert. Da suche ich noch nach einer Lsung.
Ansonsten gilt fr mich:
1. Einfach zu bedienen mit Tocuhscreen mit grafischer Oberflche
2. Qualitativ sehr hochwertiger 3D-Drucker – mechanisch gut gemacht.
3. Out of box = Auspacken, Einschalten, Ausrichten und erste Erfahrungen sammeln geht mit diesem Drucker besser, als mit vielen anderen.
4. Umbauter Druckraum – speziell fr ABS Drucke sehr gut…
5. Temperaturmanagement: Die Lfter sind zwar recht laut… aber sie regeln zuverlssig die Innenraumtemperatur.
6. Druckergebnisse: Nicht der schnellste Drucker, aber nach den ersten Versuchen super Ergebnisse!
7. Ich denke, der Drucker ist fr den Privatgebrauch bestens geeignet.
8. Konnektivitt: USB direkt um direkt vom PC, aber auch WI-FI Connection sowie ein SD-Kartenleser, um auch ohne PC starten zu knnen. Dabei ist ein kleiner Pferdefu, dass die Einrichtung des WLAN nicht selbst erklrend ist, aber machbar… und…. der SD Slot funktioniert leider nur, wenn WLAN ausgeschaltet ist… wei nicht warum… ist aber so. Ach so… WLAN Datengeschwindigkeit ist irre langsam….
9. Bauraum: 230 x 150 x 140 mm – klingt nicht nach viel, ist aber sicher einer der greren Baurume… damit ist das komplette Gert eh schon so gro wie eine grere Mikrowelle… das sollte man nicht aus den Augen verlieren, irgendwo muss das Ding ja auch stehen.
10. Lautstrke: Nicht die Strke des Gerts…. die Lfter machen nun mal Gerusche… das sollte man nicht vergessen, den manche Drucke dauern 24 Std. und lnger…. Daher war fr mich auch wichtig, dass ich via SD und WLAN ansteuern kann.
11. Software: Die mitgelieferte Software ist leicht zu bedienen und liefert gute Ergebnisse…. damit kann man anfangen, auch wenn viele nach relativ kurzer Zeit sicher anderen Programmen den Vorzug geben werden.
Am Ende noch ein Tipp…
Ich habe gute Erfahrungen damit gemacht, den Drucker manuell vorzuheizen und das durchaus 20Min. bevor ich mit Drucken beginne… Bei PLA ist das nicht wichtig, aber bei ABS habe ich gemerkt, dass die Druckbetttemperatur (105C fr ABS) erreicht wurde, aber die Haftung trotzdem schlecht war… das lag daran, dass die Temperatur an der Heizung gemessen und geregelt wird, darauf liegt aber eine 5mm dicke Aluminium Platte… so dass diese wohl noch nicht komplett durchgeheizt war…. Seit ich da immer etwas warte, habe ich kaum noch Warping Probleme.

When choosing what printer to buy I was torn between the Flashforge Dreamer and the Dremel idea builder. I chose the Flashforge because of the dual extruder feature which means you can keep two different filament types and/or colours in the machine at once, allowing you to print with them individually or both at the same time if desired. The other feature I liked over the idea builder was the heated bed, which means you can print a wider range of materials including ABS. I used the printer extensively during the first two weeks after purchase and I feel I have got to grips with the capabilities of the machine. I had most success with PLA prints.
I will include some images of my first test prints. These are all done in PLA.
My unit come with 2 PLA filaments (no ABS), well packaged, printer looks cheap with cheap plastic parts but you can feel some quality inside, on hardware and software.
Unfortunately the printer does not deliver the same result every time you print., example I printed two copies of same model, using the same filament, first copy was very good, but second copy ended with some failures on slices, wires coming out of the edges.
ABS – Print using ABS filament is hard, I try print a flat block with 10 x 10 cm, but printer cant keep slices aligned, and remove the ABS model from bed was impossible, very strong adhesion to bed – I had to remove the blue protector from the bed and apply a new one (for my luck FlashForge send 2 extras blue covers for bed). I purchased a Rigid Ink ABS white from Amazon, and after some hours I cant print a simple model in ABS – I gave up using ABS in this printer. All these issues with ABS dont occur with PLA.
PLA – 90% of what is made in PLA works, good prints, gets well finished.
Unfortunately this printer no accept large filament spools inside, my Rigid Ink ABS 1Kg dont fit inside printer, so I printed a external spool support (thingverse.com).
If I had known all these details I would have bought another printer. But in this price range, I do not think there is something ready to use and that is better. I believe that models in the range above (from 1200 to 1600) are an investment with a better cost benefit.
Not 100% satisfied with the printer, mas como dito, but as said, for this price I should not find anything better.
I purchased arter reading many reviews on 3d printing machines.After careful consideation I choose the FLASHFORGE DRAMER .I have found it a
“DREAM” to use ps i am a newbie at 3d printing. The machine is well made and reasonably quiet also the touch screen is very useful with lots of settings, avd very informative. The software supplied (on sd card) is brilliant and easy to use.
I recomend this printer.If i can i will update my review after a few weeks.
UPDATE: I’ve been using this printer for 4 years now and still really pleased with it. Prints are nearly always fault free. The only issues I had was when I bought dodgy filament. Otherwise it has been brilliant. The software has been updated regularly making it more reliable, easier to use and able to do more complex prints.
I would would definitely recommend this printer.
What a machine. Replacing my CTC. First impressions. Looks good. Sounds good. Prints great. Prints slowly but worth waiting for. Only down side is small spools, but it does keep the looks up and the size down. I can now see the enthusiasm for this machine on YouTube.
C’est ma premire imprimante, mais j’ai pu directement produire des rsultats valables avec les paramtres par dfaut et le trs pratique logiciel fourni. L’imprimante est livre avec une carte SD garnie de pices de dmonstration.
Je me suis imprim des adaptateurs de supports qui me permettent d’utiliser n’importe quel type de bobine standard: L’imprimante s’en sort parfaitement avec diffrentes marques de fils, tout en signalant que le fil d’origine est d’excellente qualit et donne de bons rsultats.
L’imprimante fonctionne avec une carte SD de faon autonome, avec une liaison WIFI, ou directement relie en USB: On n’a que l’embarras du choix, mais si je prfre de loin l’option SD qui permet de ne pas monopoliser un PC durant des heures, et limite les risques de plantage.
L’adhsion au plateau est parfaite, sans l’utilisation d’aucun produit supplmentaire. Bien au contraire, si vous oubliez de slectionner la couche d’accrochage, vous imprimez une pice qu’il n’est pratiquement plus possible de dcoller du plateau, sauf au marteau.
Je suis arriv imprimer des vis verticalement sur le plateau, sans aucun dcrochage de la pice.
Le dmontage des buselures est simple si vous bouchez vos ttes, et deux pices de guidage de rechange sont fournies si vous les abmez en dbouchant.
J’ai dj ralis quelques pices techniques (je n’imprime que des pices utilitaires): Les tolrances ne sont pas mauvaises et s’anticipent une fois qu’on a senti comment tout se met en place. J’obtiens des pices qui dont donc parfaitement fonctionnelles.
Si vous voulez dmarrer dans l’impression 3D double extrusion, voici un produit qui vous permettra d’avoir rapidement des rsultats probants sans chercher durant des dizaines d’essais les rglages optimaux, comme je le vois sur le net: Tout fonctionnera du premier coup.
Je recommande sans aucune hsitation.

If you want to use Wifi you need to do some basic configuration through the web panel first to join your home network but all was documented well and I’ve not had to plug into my PC or write to an SD card once. The huge benefit of Wifi printing is all models are saved on the onboard memory which allows you to turn off your computer once it has started the print.
In regards to the printing and quality, it works perfectly, in fact the only time I’ve had problems is whilst trying to “upgrade” to a glass bed. The surface is similar to Buildtak and they include a couple extra sheets to replace if you ever damage the surface. I have found the best way to maximise the adhesion on the surface/bed is to wipe down with acetone every so often or before doing large prints. A clean bed is vital if you want to avoid failed prints.
I have only experienced one issue with the printer due to incorrectly leveled extruders. Luckily one of the reasons I chose this one is due to the great feedback about FF’s support, and they weren’t wrong! A couple of emails to the support team and they have diagnosed the issue and sent me a part to print to re-align the heads.
Though this is my first 3D printer so I cant compare to any others, I’d definitely recommend to anyone considering this as their first printer.

Dann fragt man sich ob weniger Geld ausreicht oder sollte es dann doch gleich ein Ultimaker oder Makerbot sein?
Fr gute Drucke Zuhause ist der Drucker super.
Hab zuvor einen Vellemann Bausatz und dann kam Bosch auch auf die Idee 3D Drucker anzubieten.
Diese sieht man nun in vielen Baumrkten als Dremel Idea Builder.
Der Dremel kommt “Out of the Box”
Besonders durch das Touchscreen ist er sehr sehr einfach zu bedienen.
Auf dem Display sieht man Vorschaubilder, Temperatur usw.
Der Dremel ist jedoch ein Flashforge Dreamer, nur mit nur einem Extruder und ohne Heizbett.
Nun zum Dreamer:
Dieser kommt nicht so ganz “Out of the Box” daher. Man muss noch den Druckkopf festschrauben.
Positiv ist das alle Werkzeug dabei ist, Inbusschlssel, Spachtel, Skalpell und ein paar Ersatzschrauben sowie Teflonstcke fr die Hotends.
Zur Justierung nur ein einfaches Blatt Papier nehmen und am Anfang einen groen Winkel Drucken!!
Meine Drucke waren nicht rechtwinklig sondern trapezfrmig.
Auf einer Seite musste ich die Position vom Zahnriemen korrigieren.
Was nervig war ist der kleine 40×40 Lfter welcher die Step Driver khlt.
Diesen hatte ich ausgetauscht durch 2 leise Lfter die direkt ber den Steppern sind.
Noch ein wichtiger Punkt:
bei ABS Drucken wird der Druckraum sehr war, auch wenn die Tr offen ist.
Dabei tropfte bei mir das Schmierfett aus den Linearlager herunter.
Dann fingen die Lager an Gerusche zu machen und die Vibrationen bertrugen sich auch auf den Druckkopf.
Daher regelmig mit wrmebestndigen Fett das Gestnge einfetten.
Die Dsen haben unterschiedliche Abstnde zum Druckbett.
Um das zu korrigieren muss man den Druckkopf abschrauben und auf der entsprechenden Seite zb. etwa Coppertape, Alufolie oder auf ein Stck Silikonpad dazwischen tun.
Weitere Anmerkungen:
Die Wlan-bertragung ist sehr langsam. Sehr groe Dateien sollten besser per SD-Karte gedruckt werden
Leider gibt es im Display keine Vorschaubilder wie beim Dremel.
Aber das ist nicht so schlimm, denn nach einer Woche wei man nicht mehr welche gcode Datei welche Einstellungen hatte.
War es jetzt ABS oder PLA, links oder rechts, welche Temperaturen fr unterschiedliche Filamente usw.
Beim Dremel gibt’s nur PLA
Dsendurchmesser:
Leider gibt es nur 0,4mm Dsen. Schn wre es wenn es auch 0,25mm Dsen gbe.
Es ist halt ein Kompromiss.
Postiv:
Der Support ist gut. Im Forum gibt es Infos von den Usern und von Flashforge per email.
Dieser ist echt nett!
Nun zum Verbesserungspotential. Wer optimale Druckergebnisse erzielen mchte, sollte folgende, von mir vorgenommene, nderungen in Erwgung ziehen:
– Ersatz der Druckbettauflage durch mit aufgerauhtem Capton-Tape bezogene Borosilikatplatten (Plattenhalter und Z-Achsen-Korrektur mssen dazu vorher gedruckt werden) Bild 1
– Einbau zustzlicher regelbarer Lfter an den Seitenabdeckungen (Bild 2)
– externe Filamentspulenhalter um kostengnstigere und in grerer Auswahl verfgbare 1kg-Spulen verwenden zu knnen (Bild 3)
– Anheben des Daches fr bessere Entlftung und Mglichkeit der externen Filamentzufhrung (Bild 4)
– Verbessern der Bedienbarkeit der Nivellier-Flgelmuttern durch griffigere Aufstze (Bild 5)
– Abdecken der Lfter der Extruderkhlung mit selbstgedruckten Gittern zur Schonung der Finger (Bild 6)
– Ersatz der Originaldsen durch spezialbeschichtete “high lubricity”-Versionen fr lngere Standzeit, gleichmigere Ausdrucke und Verhindern von Verstopfungen und “Kringeln” am Dsenausgang
– Verwendung einer FlashAir-SD-Karte, da die eingebaute WiFi-Funktion nur alternativ zur SD-Karte verwendet werden kann und mit ca. 35kB/s indiskutabel langsam ist
– Verwendung von Simplify3D als Slicerprogramm, wenn man etwas Anspruchsvolleres als einen Schlsselanhnger erfolgreich und in guter Qualitt drucken mchte. Das beiliegende “FlashPrint” taugt gerade mal fr die ersten Gehversuche und simpelste Ausdrucke. Fr eine sinnvolle Nutzung gibt es einfach zu wenig Einstellmglichkeiten.
Leider gibt es die alternative Firmware “Sailfish” nicht fr den Dreamer. So verfgt die Original-Firmware zum Beispiel nicht ber die ntzliche ditto-Print-Funktion, welche laut Auskunft von FlashForge auch nie integriert werden wird um die Preisdifferenz zu den teureren FlashForge-Modellen, welche diese Funktion haben, zu rechtfertigen. Wenn man diese Funktion also gern nutzen wrde, bleibt im Moment leider nur das elektrische Parallelschalten der Ansteuerung der beiden Extruder-Motoren ber einen Umschalter.
Auch die direkte Verbindungsmglichkeit vom Slicerprogramm Simplify3D ber USB zum Drucker wurde von FlashForge mit dem letzten Firmwareupdate gesperrt, um die Verwendung von FlashPrint zu erzwingen. Somit ist nur noch eine bertragung der Druckfiles per SD-Karte mglich und das Online-Monitoring nicht mehr verfgbar.
brigens hatte ich auch schon mit ein paar Qualittsproblemen zu kmpfen. So fiel am dritten Nutzungstag der Temperatursensor des zweiten Hotends aus. Da ich den Drucker nicht wieder umstndlich hin- und herschicken wollte, bot ich an, den Sensor nach Zusendung selbst zu tauschen. Der Versand des Sensors erfolgte direkt aus China und dauerte entsprechend. Nach dem Austausch funktionierte der Drucker erst einmal wieder.
Kurz danach fiel allerdings der Lfter der Filamentkhlung aus und konnte von mir nicht wiederbelebt werden. Dieses Mal mute das ganze Gert getauscht werden.
Ein nach einem viertel Jahr bei Bewegung des Kopfes in Y-Richtung auftretendes lautes Knackgerusch konnte durch den Austausch des kompletten Lagers in der rechten hinteren Ecke behoben werden.
Zusammenfassend kann man sagen, da das Gert ein gutes Einsteigergert fr den Druck “out of the box” mit einigen Qualittsmngeln ist. Mit etwas technischem Hintergrundwissen kann man aber ein ganz brauchbares Gert auch fr anspruchsvollere Aufgaben daraus basteln.
Ich habe den Kauf alles in allem nicht bereut und bin nun recht zufrieden mit dem gepimpten Gert.

Zur Verpackung:
======================
Der Drucker kommt nicht komplett zusammengebaut an. Der Arbeitsaufwand hlt sich allerdings sehr in Grenzen. Lediglich der Extruderblock muss dem dafr vorgesehenen Schlitten mittels zwei Schrauben verbunden werden. Hierbei ist darauf zu achten, dass die korrekten Schrauben benutzt werden. Es liegen mehrere Schrauben unterschiedlicher Lnge in dem kleinem Werkzeugkoffer bei. Die korrekten Schrauben befinden sich in der kleinen wiederverschliebaren Plastiktte. Inklusive auspacken und vorsichtiger Montage habe ich ca. 30 Min gebraucht bis ich den Drucker ruhigen Gewissens einschalten konnte.

Inbetriebnahme
======================
Der Drucker kann mit zwei verschiedenen Spannungen betrieben werden. Bei mir waren 220V voreingestell, der Schalter hierzu befindet sich auf der Unterseite des Druckers. Am besten ist er mit einer kleinen Taschenlampe zu finden. Ich wrde die korrekte Schalterstellung vor der Inbetriebnahme auf jeden Fall prfen. Nach dem Einschalten ertnt eine niedliche Startmelodie, die eher an einen mobilen Eiscremeverkuder erinnert. Die Aufwrmzeit (220C Extruder 1, 230 Extruder 2, 105C Druckbett) betrgt ca. 10 Min und ist im Vergleich zu anderen 3D Druckern relativ schnell (Leapfrog CreatrHS ~30min). Die Ausrichtung des Druckbetts kann ber das Touchdisplay vorgenommen werden. Mittels 3 Schrauben wird dieses manuell justiert. Der korrekte Abstand kann mit der beiliegenden Schablone berprft werden. Ich ziehe allerdings ein gewhnliches DinA4 Papier vor.
Druck
======================
Mit der beiliegenden Flashprint Software kann man sehr schnell erste gute Ergebnisse erzielen. Insbesondere die WLAN Funktion ist hierbei sehr praktisch. Bei greren Modellen empfiehlt es sich auf die SD Karte zurckzugreifen. Der WLAN Empfang ist sehr langsam (~100KB/s) und funktioniert nur mit der original Flashprint Software. Ich selber nutze aufgrund der greren Einstellmglichkeiten Simplify3D. Der Druck mit PLA funktionierte auf Anhieb sehr gut, selbst mit dem etwas schwerer druckbaren ABS klappte es nach 2 Anlufen.
Mit folgenden Temperatureinstellungen erziele ich eigentlich durchweg tolle Ausdrucke (PLA 205C Extruder, 50 Bett / ABS 225C Extruder, 105C Bett).
Beim parallelen Druck mit beiden Extrudern ist mir aufgefallen, dass der eine Extruder tiefer liegt als der andere. Dies verursacht einen unsauberen Druck, da der tiefer hngende heie Extruder durch das frische Filament des anderen gezogen wird. Mit ein paar Lagen Aluminiumfolie lsst sich dieses Problem allerdings beheben (Alternative: Zerlegunng des Extruderblocks).
Verbesserungsmglichkeiten
======================
Der Lftungsschacht zur Khlung des Filaments beim PLA Druck ist schlecht konstruiert. Er kann bei zu hohen Temperaturen leicht die Form verlieren und khlt nur den linken Extruder. Diese Version stellt eine bessere Alternative dar und khlt beide Extruder ([…]). Es ist direkt ein guter Test fr den ersten ABS Ausdruck
Desweiteren passen in den Dreamer nur kleine Filamentspulen bis 0,5Kg rein. Fr grere Spulen empfiehlt sich folgende Modifikation ([…]). Es gibt aber noch viele andere Mglichkeiten die Spulen zu montieren.
Bei aktiviertem WLAN kann ich keine Dateien von der eingelegten SD Karte drucken. Entweder man verwendet den Druck per WLAN oder den per SD Karte. Alternative: SD Karte mit WLAN
Die Kabelfhrung zum Extruder ist ziemlich bescheiden, der Kabelbaum ist sehr biegsam und reibt hufig an der Zierblende, die sich hinter dem Druckbett befindet. Es ist allerdings nur das Gerusch welches strend ist, negative Einflsse auf die Mechanik konnte ich noch nicht festellen.
Der Drucker ist generell sehr laut, ich empfehle also in einem Mehrparteienhaus keinen Betrieb nach 22 Uhr. Vielleicht lsst sich dies durch die Verwendung anderer Gehuselfter ausschlieen
Fazit
======================
Auch wenn der Drucker von Werk aus nicht perfekt ist und durch das viele Plastik eher billig aussieht, hat er meiner Ansicht nach 5 Sterne verdient. Fr nur 1100 erhalte ich ein Gert, dass gerade auch fr Anfnger sehr gut geeignet und schnell einsatzbereit ist. Durch kleinere Modifikationen (s.o.) und die Verwendung alternativer Software lsst sich aus diesem Gert aber ein wahres Arbeitstier machen. Er druckt und druckt und druckt. Ich bin wirklich begeistert. Und fr alle, denen die Farbe der Innenraumbeleuchtung nicht gefllt….Diese lsst sich mit der beiliegenden Flashprint Software beliebig ndern.
Some pros:
– great build quality – I haven’t thought that the prints would be such good, even at medium resolution which is a good balance between speed and quality, the prints look amazing. And you can always use the ‘hyper’ setting with 0.08mm layer height
– the footprint of the printer is good given that it contains two spools of material
– the software will not limit you – you can set speeds, quality, infills, temperatures…whatever you need
– you can use any filament you need – not just their brand (one of key points why I chose this over XYZprinting DaVinci printers)
– after few months of usage I used several spools of material without any jams and problems.
Some cons:
– the internal spool holder are designed for 600gram flashforge spools. This limitation can be easily removed by printing this Thing […] , so I’m now happy to use my favorite Filamentum spools
– the inside fan for cooling stepper motors is noisy. I plan to replace it with a more quiet one, but for everyone that is interested – please note that this printer uses 24V as internal voltage
– the heated bed uses stickers which work perfectly….but I plan to use plain glass, so that I can remove the bed surface.
– the website and the download section could use someone…a webmaster maybe? I go to the vendors site, choose my model and download the laters software there is. I install it, launch it and first thing it says, that a new version (with a 0.3 version difference) is available and it downloads from a 3rd party location…this can be confusing for someone who is used to….better software vendors (ultimaker / makerbot…)

J’utilise le lociciel de modlisation Autocad 123D, qui est gratuit et dont l’apprentissage est simple.
Ceci tant, une telle machine suppose d’utiliser un logiciel de modlisation 3D et un logiciel machine (ici Flashprint de Flashforge). Ce n’est donc pas utilisable sans une certaine expertise.

Produces very good parts much better than I expected.
Only one problem is the smaller filament spools than the normal 1Kg size.
But have now printed off parts so I can use the 1Kg spools outside of the machine.

Spitzengert welches sich einfach Bedienenlst, Regelmssige Software updates welche auch immer wieder neu Funktionen hinzufgen.
From the start I had some problems with the heated bed calibration (the Z axis stop sensor was not well positioned, a 5 mm difference, and the extruder was constantly hitting the table. The problem was solved by sticking a spacer at the sensor).
It comes with 2 plastic spools, one PLA, one ABS with quite good quality, a tool box that contains everything that you would need for setup and calibration, and the slicing software.
You can print with it as soon as you take it out of the box.
The quality of the print is medium to good with almost no bugs. I printed a part in ABS that took 9 hours to complete and had no signs of malfunctions, warping, overheating or other problems.
So the dreamer is quite a good and reliable printer for me that I recommend.
Fr etwas mehr als 1000 Euro bekommt man dann hier einen soliden Drucker mit beheiztem Druckbett und Dual Extruder, der sofort einsatzfhig und sehr zuverlssig ist. Vor dem ersten Druck muss lediglich der Druckkopf montiert und das Druckbett gelevelt werden (ist in ca. 5 Minuten erledigt).
Die beiliegende Software macht einen guten Eindruck. Da ich allerdings eine Simplyfy3D-Lizenz besitze, beschrnken sich meine Erfahrungen damit auf wenige Testdrucke. Der Drucker hat auch einen Wifi-Anschluss, ber den Drucke gestartet werden knnen. Ich nutze meistens die Mglichkeit die Modelle per SD Karte zu bertragen. Das hat in meinen Augen den Vorteil, dass man einfach alle zu druckenden Modelle darauf speichern kann und dann alles nur noch ber den Drucker bedienen kann.
Der Drucker hat einen Dual Extruder, d.h. er hat zwei einzelne Extruder, die individuell genutzt werden knnen. Dies hat den Vorteil, dass weniger oft das Filament gewechselt werden muss. Ich habe z.B. fast immer eine Spule mit schwarzem PLA auf der einen Seite, welches ich fr viele Drucke verwende. Besonders faszinierend ist aber die Mglichkeit zweifarbige Drucke zu fertigen. Dazu wird bei einem entsprechenden Modell mit Hilfe der Software definiert, welcher Teil mit welchem Extruder gedruckt werden soll.
In einer anderen Rezension wurde genannt, dass kleine Drucke nicht gut auf dem Druckbett haften. Dies wrde ich nicht dem Drucker als Nachteil auslegen, sondern ist ein altbekanntes Problem in der Welt des 3D-Drucks, das sich problemlos durch eine feine Schicht Klebestift lsen lsst. Auch ber die Einstellungen lsst sich vieles erreichen.
Was hufig als Nachteil genannt wird ist die Kompatibilitt der Spulen. Sie werden im Inneren des Druckers befestigt und liegen dabei in einer schmalen Kuhle, in die der Groteil der Standard 1kg Spulen nicht hineinpasst. Glcklicherweise gibt es aber mittlerweile druckbare Ersatz-Halterungen (“OmniStand Adjustable Filament Spool Stand”), die man prima mit dem beigelegten Filament drucken kann.
Ein eindeutiger Nachteil ist die Lautstrke: der Drucker ist schlicht und einfach laut. Durch die geschlossene Bauweise werden die Gerusche zwar etwas gedmmt, sind aber trotzdem gut zu hren. Durch die Nutzung der ueren Lfter wird die Lautstrke auch noch einmal erhht. Wer also plant, das Gert ins Wohnzimmer zu stellen, ist damit nicht gut bedient.

J’en ai donc aperu les dfauts (de la Zortrax) : plateau type circuit imprim donc facilement abmable quand on dcolle l’objet, chaleur non rgulire si on rajoute pas les bords, logiciel.
Passons donc la Flashforge Dreamer
– pas chre !!
– esthtique et peu volumineuse
– imprimante ferme donc pas de problme de chaleur mal rpartie
– plateau recouvert par une sorte de tapis autocollant (livr avec plusieurs tapis) donc pas de risque d’abmer
– logiciel facile
– deux couleurs possibles. Attention toutefois: quand on imprime en deux couleurs au mme niveau (vertical), le changement frquent de couleur tend laisser de lgers dpts de l’autre couleur.

Les rsultats:
C’est juste impressionnant en regard des problmes eus sur la Zortrax. Pour moi a a march du premier coup si on excepte le fait que pour faire adhrer l’ABS il vaut mieux mieux passer un coup de bombe “Dimafix” auparavant. Aprs cela je n’ai plus eu un seul souci.
Personnellement je n’ai pas cherch imprimer en mode haute rsolution, je n’en ai pas l’utilit et j’ai donc utilis le mode par dfaut, le rsultat tant dj trs correct.
Bref, en conclusion, je trouve que c’est un modle qui vaut LARGEMENT son prix, est rapide faire fonctionner, facile intgrer..;
Die Montage des Druckkopfes gestaltet sich insgesamt als recht einfach und kann mit dem mitgelieferten Werkzeug leicht erledigt werden. Die beiden mitgelieferten Filamentspulen (1x blaues PLA, 1x weies ABS) sind schnell montiert. Danach muss noch der Drucktisch ausgerichtet werden.
Entgegen der Artikelbeschreibung ist auch eine Software fr Linux enthalten. Diese lie sich auch auf meinem OpenSuse problemfrei installieren. Die Software prft automatisch auf vorhandene Updates. Leider war die neuste Version dann nur noch als .dep Paket vorhanden, was dann doch etwas Zusatzwissen bei der Installation auf nichtdebian-Systemen erfordert. Ein Update auf die neuste Software-Version ist dringend zu empfehlen, da hier ein anderer, besserer Slicer zum Einsatz kommt. ber die Software lsst sich sowohl die USB, als auch die WLAN-Schnittstelle ansprechen. Das Einrichten der WLAN-Schnittstelle des Druckers erfordert jedoch ein intensives Studium des Handbuchs – intuitiv geht anders! Zudem ist die WLAN-Schnittstelle deutlich langsamer als USB. Das Firmware-Update funktioniert nur ber die Flash-Karte oder ber USB. Der im Drucker eingebaute FlashCard-Reader funktioniert witzigerweise nur, wenn die WLAN-Schnittstelle abgeschaltet ist.
Die Ausdrucke selbst gelingen recht gut. PLA ist gar kein Problem. Das geht immer. Bei ABS muss der Drucktisch wirklich gut kalibriert sein. Klappt der erste Layer, sind die gedruckten Objekte makellos. Der Druck geht zgig vonstatten. Dennoch brauchen grere Objekte je nach verwendeter Schichtdicke mehrere Stunden. Fertig gedruckte Objekte in ABS bekommt man nur bei warmen Drucktisch von der Platte. Ich verwende hierfr ein dnnes Stahllineal. Durch den beheizten Drucktisch lassen sich fasst alle Materialien verarbeiten. Ich habe jedoch bisher nur PLA und ABS ausprobiert.
Obwohl ich mit dem Flashforge Dreamer rundum zufrieden bin, mchte ich dennoch ein paar Schwachpunkte nicht verschweigen:
– Man sollte whrend des Drucks die Kommunikation mit dem Rechner unterbrechen, da sich der Drucker sonst nach ein paar Stunden aufhngt.
– Die Filamentspulen sind im Drucker untergebracht. Das ist erst mal ein Vorteil. Der Drucker vertrgt jedoch im Auslieferungszustand nur sehr kleine Spulen. Glcklicherweise kann man sich Halterungen fr grere Spulen selbst drucken. Dann passen fast alle Spulenformate in den Drucker.
– Der Drucker ist, auch wenn er nicht druckt, durch die reichhaltig verbauten Lfter recht laut. Wenn er druckt wird es noch mal lauter.
– Die Justierung des Drucktisches erfolgt nur mit Flgelschrauben, die sich gern mal verstellen. Hufiges hndisches Nachjustieren ist die Folge.
Insgesamt besticht das Gert durch seine Komplettausstattung. Es gibt reichlich Schnittstellen, jede Menge Werkzeug und Ersatzteile, eine gut bedienbare Software und einen beleuchteten Druckraum, dessen Farbe man sogar einstellen kann. Wer noch nie 3D-Druck gemacht hat, kommt mit diesem Gert am schnellsten ans Ziel.
Bisher habe ich nur wenige Teile damit ausgedruckt, weil ich keine Zeit fr grere “Experimente” hatte.
Ein Werkstck, das den Einsatz der beiden Extruder zugleich erfordert, habe ich zum Beispiel noch nicht hergestellt.
Die mitgelieferte Software gefllt mir sehr gut.
Man kann das herzustellende Teil in allen Richtungen bewegen und beliebig positionieren.
Die Sttzstrukturen lassen sich manuell ndern und die Einstellungen fr den Drucker sind umfangreich und fr einen Anfnger im 3D-Druck, wie ich es bin, sicher ausreichend.
Falls man spter doch noch Einstellungen vermissen sollte, gibt es auch Mglichkeiten, kostenpflichtige Software von einem Fremdhersteller zu verwenden.
Auerdem wird die Software noch stndig durch den Hersteller verbessert.
Soweit ein Internetanschlu vorhanden ist, wird man beim Start der Software ber das Erscheinen neuer Versionen informiert, die kostenlos herunter geladen werden knnen.
Der Drucker ist insgesamt recht ordentlich und ohne offensichtliche Fehler zusammengebaut.
Die Qualitt der Ltfreien Steckverbinder, die im Gert, zum Beispiel am Hauptschalter verbaut sind, knnten allerdings besser sein.
Sie waren teilweise etwas locker.
Ich denke, da ich es beurteilen kann, weil ich schon einmal bei einem Hersteller solcher Stecker gearbeitet habe.
Auch die Kabelzufhrung zum Extruder knnte man vielleicht noch verbessern, mit einer Kabelfhrung und ordentlichem bergang in das Extrudergehuse.
Man darf fr einen Preis von um 1100 Euro sicher keine CNC-Werkzeugmaschine erwarten, die man in der gewerblichen Produktion einsetzen kann.
Insgesamt halte ich den Drucker fr ein interessantes Angebot fr Leute, die einen Einstieg in den 3D-Druck suchen.
Man ist nicht, wie bei vielen anderen Druckern auf die Verwendung von bestimmtem Material festgelegt.
Jedoch erfordern einige Materialien Temperaturen, die Gerte dieser Preisklasse nicht bieten knnen.
Ein Blick in die technischen Daten vor dem Kauf kann nicht schaden, um festzustellen, ob die Temperaturen fr das gewnschte Material ausreichend sind.
Die Materialspulen werden im Lieferzustand im Gehuse untergebracht.
Dies hat den Vorteil, da sich kein Staub auf dem Material sammelt und den Nachteil, da man nur kleine Spulen verwenden kann.
Kunden, die fr ihren Drucker kein Kunststoffgehuse mchten, sollten sich das Modell Flashforge Creator Pro vom gleichen Hersteller ansehen, welches einen Rahmen aus Metall hat.
Der Flashforge Creator wird aber mit anderer Software geliefert (so weit ich wei), und ist eventuell eher fr Leute gedacht, die sich noch intensiver mit dem Hobby beschftigen wollen.
In den USA unterhlt der Hersteller eine gute Internetseite, die ich mir fr die Ersatzteilversorgung auch in Deutschland wnsche.
Um Enttuschungen vorzubeugen:
Solche Gerte sind keine “vollautomatischen Apparate”, bei denen man “mal eben” auf den Knopf drckt, um von jetzt auf gleich ein perfektes Werkstck zu produzieren.
Trotzdem ist es mir nach wenigen Versuchen gelungen, mit diesem Drucker die ersten brauchbaren Werkstcke auszudrucken.
Bei 3D-Druckern im allgemeinen (nicht nur von diesem Hersteller) handelt sich um kleine CNC-Maschinen, fr deren dauerhaften Gebrauch man schon etwas technisches Verstndnis mitbringen sollte.
