Makita HS7601J/2 240V 190mm Circular Saw Supplied in a Makpac Case

I have been cutting a lot of melamine coated furniture panels to make wardrobes and shelving and the guide that comes with this saw doesn’t allow the width I needed so following advice on youtube I made some very simple straight line jigs, from plywood and a batten, and was able to cut the panels I needed very easily with this. With melamine it chips at the top though the bottom piece tends to be neater so (again advice on youtube) I made a tiny shallow cut into the melamine first before lowering the blade to cut right through. Keeping the blade as high as possible while still having enough blade to cut through makes it easier to cut. Initially I found I was burning the wood by having the blade set too low. The very sturdy storage box has plenty of room for keeping spare blades and other bits and bobs.

Works perfectly, and more reliably, given mains Vs battery usage. Have a lot of Makita kit, all others battery based. This saw though, spinning so fast, cutting through green oak, requires constant power.

I have had many a circular saw over the years and mostly cheaper models. But I decided when my last saw died I would buy a quality product. This is smoother quieter and cuts better than any saw I’ve ever had. I would certainly recommend it and the box is really useful and won’t fall apart like cardboard boxes do.

Bought this saw only because I accidentally dropped my old Hitachi saw, and was beyond repair, so opted for this over other makes due to the price and it came with the case. And wow what a saw, compared to my 15 plus year old Hitachi this is amazing !! Quieter, smoother , and the cut from the stock blade was very impressive, well worth the money, I would definitely recommend this saw.

I am not using this in a professional setting but after years of using handsaws and cutting a 22mm floorboard length ways I just couldn’t take it anymore.

I have now been buzzing through everything in seconds. It’s the single best tool I’ve ever bought. I couldn’t have done my full house renovation without it.

Very well boxed with carry case when not in use. Haven’t actually used it yet but looks fantastic!!

Quality tools are worth the cash. I could have bought a 40 saw. It might have cut the same in begin but what about further down the line. Paying the extra gives me knowledge that the saw will last many years and jobs to come. You can buy a guide separately that will enable the use of a makita track. Buy quality, buy once.

Da die Grundplatte meiner alten Handkreissge instabil war und keine geraden Schnitte mehr machbar waren habe ich mich fr eine neue entschieden. Fr meine Zwecke voll ausreichend, Top Schnitte.

Purchased this saw as a replacement for an older one that had reached the end of its useful/safe life. Always wanted a Makita tool so took advantage of the offer.
This is an EXCELLENT tool, very smooth and accurate cuts, fairly quiet and not too heavy.
Very happy with the saw and the storage box is a very useful addition.

Have been using this machine for more than a year. Have used it on a number of wood working projects. I do not have a table saw so this is my main saw. I use it jointly with Kreg’s Rip Cut which saves me a tonne of time.

The saw arrived but when I opened up the box it was clear to see that the item had been used previously…the saw blade manufacturers stencil markings were scuffed and on the body of the saw was saw dust.
It was not damaged, just used which was not how it was advertised.

This is my first circular saw. And I don’t know how I’ve done without it. i built agility equipment for my partner and her dogs with ease. With this you can cut large bits of wood in a dead straight line (don’t forget to construct yourself a cutting guide- see Youtube.com for that).
Have only cut wood so far, but hope soon to be cutting sheet metal also.

Been using this whilst building a shed. it’s handled everything I have thrown at it really impressed with the quality of cuts. the only downside is its a bit heavy if you’re using it all day.

As a complete novice to woodworking I bought this after a friends recommended it to me. For the money it’s been absolutely brilliant for everything from cutting doors to building a garage workbench.
Obviously a battery operated tool would be more convenient, but this machine has been faultless and dead reliable.

Bought this for my son – what a difference this is to my cheap B&Q saw (well it would be wouldn’t it).
Arrived on time.
More or less ready for use from the packaging – but check blade nut was firmly fastened.
Cut several sleepers, smooth and easy.
Going to buy myself a Makita circular saw now iv’e seen the difference !!

Wow this is an amazing tool, I thought a mitre saw was the solution but after using this, it is so versatile. Hard to keep a straight line but can use the mitre saw for this. Feels great in the hand and adjustable for varied jobs, I primarily used it for rebate cuts when making my front gates. It’s ideal for these sort of jobs.
