I bought this dehumidifier 8 years ago in February and it still works. Only things that have changed are the white colour which is expected after so many years with sun light, and it gets a little louder with age, which is easily fixed by leaving the handle upright. Highly recommend. Bought the 12L for my small 3 bed house.

Bought this to help dry clothes/washing. It is excellent, works really well/efficient, yes there is a noise but shut the door!
Haven’t given ‘sleep mode’ a score as never used the function.

The sound does not bother me day and night, it has reduced the mold and humidity a lot, it is on from morning to night and the price of electricity is very low, but the price of this device is high and I request you to reduce it and take less profit so that everyone can buy it. Everyone should use it and get more health

Great dehumidifier and amazing the amount of water it collects.
We have bad condensation during the winter months and previously bought disposable dehumidifiers that never really solved the problem.
This has done wonders and really keeps it under control, without having to be on all day either.
I have it set up on a smartplug and routine so the autoturnon function is great for clicking on at certain times.

Does a good job and removed a good amount of water. Only criticism is the timer setting function. I set it to come on whilst we were away on holiday but it didn’t. Instructions aren’t great so probably user error du to inadequate instructions.

Waited a few weeks before writing a review just in case. Safe to say this product really does work. Put it on overnight and in the morning, the tank was half full already. But the whole house was dry, even upstairs (this was placed downstairs). It tackled the whole house which was unbelievable. After about a week and a half, the humidity levels began to stabilise in the house, which means it will switch itself on and off when it needs to. It does dry the clothes as well and as an added bonus, it even blows out slightly warm air ( added heat for the house really). And it hasn’t broken the bank either. Very cheap to run considering the way it works. When it was first used, it was on non stop in the first week and as I said, did not break the bank. Yes it will be an extra cost to your electricity, but not much at all. This is a really good product and would fully recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersWe bought the Meaco 20L to replace a Meaco ABC 12 which finally failed after 4 years’ continual hard work dehumidifying our home, which tends towards a damp environment.

This is a compressor based dehumidifier which has proven to remove an astonishing amount of humidity from the atmosphere; more quickly than our previous ABC 12 which also impressed us. The 20L has removed up to two containers-full (total 12 litres) of moisture during 24 hours and promises to be able to remove more in a wetter environment. The humidity required can be set in increments of 5% and the unit can be set to continually remove moisture (laundry mode). We have two separate humidity meters in our home and, whereas the ABC 12 used to agree fairly well with the humidity amount, the 20L seems less accurate and tends to show a higher humidity (5% approx.) than the meters. This is quite easily workable but, in our case, may have lead, initially, to a drier environment than we would wish if we did not have an independent means to measure.

Despite being the larger (20L) unit, this runs quietly so has not proved invasive during time spent at home. In fact, we really don’t notice it’s there apart from the nicer atmosphere it creates for us. Condensation no longer occurs and, by using the unit’s adjustable louvre, dehumidified air can be directed at various degrees between straight up and forwards which can be useful for, say, helping dry washing on an airer indoors. This unit takes a HEPA filter which creates an even more pleasant atmosphere by removing the micro-particles in the air as it dehumidifies. There is one free HEPA filter included with the unit but further filters must be bought separately. Our experience so far suggests it will be worth continuing to use and replace these filters.

Overall the Meaco 20L is proving to be a very capable unit and we would not hesitate to buy another or recommend the unit to others.

Love this, use in winter months when it’s damp. Definitely collect overnight as we only use during this time when we sleep. Cleared up window condensation, air is warmer after use so less use of house heating needed. Easy to use and empty. Is heavy when I move it upstairs but still manageable. Can wheel it around floor. Love the option to blow the moving fan around room. Pleased with purchase. Thank you

I wanted to review this product after owning it for about 3 years.

It deserves a great review as it has kept my basement damp-free for about 2 years. Originally, I would use it intermittently, but for about 2 years I have just kept it on as it doesn’t seem to affect my energy usage much.

A top quality and one I spent a while comparing to others on the market, due to the purchase price being what I thought was high. In retrospect, it is a bargain.

This dehumidifier is excellent when it comes to sucking up moisture. Seriously, it does excellent work with the humidity. And the best part is that it’s so quiet! is the real deal. It’s portable, so I can bring it wherever I need it most, in the living room or in the bedroom. Ideal for homes in the UK

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersBought a large detached house that had not been lived in for 15+years. This dehumidifier literally ran day and night for over 12 months (almost 24/7 moved to different rooms) and transformed the internal moisture levels to less than 40% throughout. It may be on the expensive side to buy, but the quality and features are brilliant. After such intensive use, it developed a fault and a quick call to Meaco (very helpful) and, after running some diagnostic tests, they shipped me a box and arranged a separate collection for an inspection and optional service (25?- no brainer!). Received an email a few days later saying it could not be repaired – but also saying they would ship a brand new replacement which arrived the day after the email! Faultless service, great machine and lovely company to deal with. I won’t hesitate to buy from them again.

We bought this dehumidifier because we live in a flat in London so we dry our clothes indoors. Last year the humidity levels would be around 70-80% but they are now around 50%.
The dehumifier is very efficient and with the filter we also ensure the air we breath is cleaner.
One of the purchases we have made through Amazon.

The unit is compact and manoeuvrable. It extract moisture very well and the humidity in my flat has come down considerably as the windows don’t drip with condensation any more. On the down side it is louder on high than I would like.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe live on the coast in the far north of Scotland, in a 2 bedroomed bungalow. Bought the 12L dehumidifier because we have a problem with small damp patches on both of our north facing bedroom walls. Over time we’ve tried most basic remedies for dealing with this, but finally, after much research, decided on the Meaco.
Delivery was very fast. The dehumidifier was upside down when we opened the package, and instructions say to leave for 4 hours in upright position before using. We left the machine for 24 hours to be sure. Switched on and followed easy instructions to set up. The humidity level showed 64% at first, and we set it for 40%. Within a very short time, humidity showed 54%, and after 19 hours the 2.5 litre tank was full. Machine switched off, beeped x 4 and red light flashed. Emptied tank, replaced, and machine switched on again. 15 hours later, tank needed emptying again, and humidity down to 49-50%. The machine is in our bedroom, and we have no problem with the noise level. Keeping all the room doors open, so expect it to take a while before the machine gets to set level. So far it’s costing about 1.00 a day to run, but expect this to be less once set humidity level is reached. Early days, but very impressed so far, and truly amazed at how much water this little machine has collected.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was surprised the first day I used it. It collected 6 litres of water in 24 hours. But it collects around 3 litres of water in 24 hours these days and moulds stopped to appear in the cold spaces of the house. It reduces 80 degrees moisture level to 38 in 5 hours if the room temperature is 20 selcius. The price of this product is high comparing with other similar brands. In total I am fairly satisfied with purchasing this product after two weeks of using it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe best thing I have ever ever bought, even my husband agrees.
Sucks up every bit of moisture in the air after showering or steam ironing or after boiling saucepans on the hob. No more damp / mould. A brilliant bit of kit. Supposed to be cheap to run but I haven’t had the bill yet. Even so, I won’t quibble about the bill being a bit higher, assuming it is, because the benefits one of these brings, far outweighs any negatives.
Only negative, and it is a picky one, is that it’s very heavy. It’s okay if moving from one room to another as it glides on wheels. Taking it up or downstairs is a bit of a maul. Do what I do and get a strapping son to do it for you.
Can’t praise this item enough, you’ve got to get one. I got the bigger version and glad I did.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’ve been after one of these for a while, but due to the energy prices they’ve been pretty hard to get.

I finally managed to get one and it’s massively better than the old one we have, which took days to dry washing. I dried a full load of clothes and 2 bath sheets from a previous load overnight in the dining room, going from nearly 80% humidity to just under 50% by the time we woke up and checked it. Everything dry, no issues.

2 drawbacks, however. It is a bit noisy so make sure it’s far enough away from your bedroom overnight, and it’s really heavy even without water in it. Not an issue if it just sits in the same place, but if you move it about it is something to consider.

All in all, 8/10. Dries really well, reasonably quiet (you can hear a quiet hum from the next room, but you couldn’t sleep with it on in the same room etc). Quite heavy but then again it does draw a lot of water out of the room it’s in, so worth the trade off.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersWe were lucky to snatch up this 20 L Meaco dehumidifier up before it sold out. We bought it because we were noticing a ridiculous amount of condensation on our windows in our 3 bed house and we wanted a more cost effective way to dry out laundry in the winter. Let me tell you, it does the job and it does it well. The amount of water it collects is a massive eye opener, even when you don’t think it is humid in your house, believe it is. It has a nice feature that shuts off when tank is full and a child lock to ensure settings don’t change. It is quite heavy to lift so I would advise finding an area like the landing and keep all doors open in the house to draw the moisture to the unit. The Air Purifier mode is such a lovely touch and the complimentary HEPA Filter works amazingly. The house smells so much fresher and we can breathe better as some of us have allergies. It works well in cold temperatures when the heating isn’t on and makes the house warmer just by removing moisture from the air. I would definitely recommend this to anyone I know. It’s worth every penny.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSensible price, I’ve used it now for a few months and I’m very happy with it. I live in a 3 bed mid terrace that had some damp patches on the walls. Now gone. I don’t have a tumble dryer so drying clothes was becoming difficult. Takes 2 days to dry with humidifier running. House feels a little warmer when it runs. Running for 24 hrs a day at the moment, costing 6 p per hour to run (Dec 2022) Didn’t think at first it was all thar quiet but got used to it now. Hardly notice it. Mainly use in the living room but easy to move upstairs. Pleased I chose this model.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI bought this less than a week ago, to help with the coldness felt now it’s coming into autumn. WOW!!! In the first 11 hours, it took out just over 3 litres of water from my front room/ dining room. Since then, have moved it around the house, ( 2 bedroomed, 1 bathroom, 2 downstairs rooms and kitchen), end terrace, and probably taken out 20 litres or more. I have left it on during the night, and even during the day when I go to work. Coming home, is great, as well as in the morning, because it takes out that dampness and with it recycling the air, which is slightly warmer, it definitely takes the chill out of the room. This has worked so well, that I have ordered a second one for upstairs. I have put the central heating on a couple of times, just because it’s been chilly, and because of the moisture being taken out of the house, I’ve had to turn down the central heating, because it’s not had to work so hard to heat the house. This machine is a game changer. It’s a bit pricey, BUT in the whole, I think it will help reduce the heating bills and will eventually pay for itself.

I bought this to go in the cupboard under the stairs so we could speed up the time it takes to dry our laundry on a clothes horse. We checked the energy ratings and according to 2022 guidelines this model costs about 3p per hour (compared to a guzzly tumbler) and you only need to leave it on overnight to dry a full load of washing. There’s a timer setting so you can whack that on and forget about the drying for the evening. Would shamelessly recommend!

Will beat you in a drinking competition.. Jokes aside this is a great buy, more energy efficient than rivals . removes moisture at great speed. Living in a studio apartment with kitchen and bedroom all integrated when I cook or do my washing there is a great deal of moisture that causes mold growth, insomnia . Even moisture from my own breathing overnight can accumulate. This dehumidifier takes care of all that and keeps humidity at an ideal 40% for sleep. before purchase the level was at 65-75% which was too uncomfortable and caused interrupted sleep

Decided to try this instead of a tumble-drier in small utility room. I hang as much as I can from clothes hangers – so putting stuff away afterwards involves little work. Can’t hear it running with the door shut. Did worry that my clothes might start to smell musty – as damp for hours whilst drying. Not so. Everything but thick towels, trainers (yes!) and sweatshirts/jogging-pants dries within four hours. The other stuff I leave to dry overnight (after emptying the tank). Now hang my outerwear and umbrella in the room as well – to benefit from the drying. Even if it doesn’t save power (I don’t know) it’s so easy. I’m converted.

Received my item in good condition, delivery was great as well.

It was easy to setup, ease to use and it comes with a free HEPA filter.

Ran the dehumidifier function for 4-6 hours and compared to room humidity to my humidity thermometer and it’s identical. Able to see moisture being absorb in the water tank.

Purifier works as intended, noticed that I don’t sneeze or cough that much anymore due to allergies. Fan noise was okay for me when running the purifier mode, I was able to sleep with it on but the when running the dehumidifier mode, the fan noise is loud and since my model doesn’t comes with fan speed options, probably just gonna use the dehumidifier mode on daytime.

Product isn’t too big and perfect for a single room use (rental room) and easy to travel with if you’re moving from place to place.

Looking forward to updating my initial review after 6 months of usage.

4l over 6 hours is pretty darn good. It likes watts. Not using energy rated as suggested in said RH/TEMP on box. Uses 280watts in its peak. Well that’s what the tester says. Goes from 230-280 in its highest working conditions 25c 60rh. 4l over 6hrs. Heats the whole house. Even though we got it just to get damp out of 1 room. 6hrs 4l later the room is bone dry room RH down from 67% to 41 went back up to 48 28hrs later. We also use it 1hr during the day & 1hr during the evening to heat up the house. Only gas needed for hot water now. With gas going up 33% this is a product that will increase the electricity bill but cut gas by 80%. So, it pays for the watts it uses, you have to look at it like that. Cause over 48hrs we’ve used 17kwh as opposed to our normal 5-8 kwh. But we’ve used 30mins of gas for hot water instead of 6hrs a day in gas so 11.5hrs in gas not used. About 7-8. Electricity will cost 58cents after vat and all that. So, about 4e worth of extra watts and 7-8 in gas saved. So, total savings 3-4. Love the free HEPA filter. Thank you.

we have high moisture levels on our thermometer and we have both been suffering with coughs and sneezes for awhile and could not seem to shift permanently. I then researched and bought this model because it has the air purifer in it as i do suffer with allergies . I can not tell how much energy it is using. I ran it for 2 days 24/7 in the bedroom and in the evening had to place it in the hallway.
The noise level does not bother me in the least but my husbands hearing is very sensitive and as sharp as a pin and I knew it would bother him although we have not tried it. It has collected alot of water so far and we are both very pleased with this purchase.
