Ordered for my 13yo son with his birthday money and he loved them. Comfy fit, great sound and tech mad grandad approved! So much so his grandad got jealous, sent me some money and I ordered a pair for him too!
These are a top buy at the right cost- not sure what the RRP is but worth around 100. Better that the pro x wireless, poor range but that’s not important- comfortable for long sessions- battery OK- but they excel in sound stage for PVP games. I have had steel series 9 which are the best overall but I come back to these as the sound stage is preferable to me. Don’t like the mute button could be bigger.
However, the mic, before the Razer black sharks, I used and have since gone back to using my headphones that I have been using for 8 years, the turtle beach PX24, they have lasted me forever and I love them, the right ear has snapped off but is held on by the audio cable and still makes good sound, people in games have said I have a nice voice or sound like a radio producer because my microphone is so good and asked what mic/headset I had so they could get it. I say all of this because they have given me very high standards for gaming headsets should be like, they are a cheap headset that hasn’t deteriorated in quality since the day I got them. Meaning when I bought the Razer blackshark V2 I had all of this in mind. For the Blackshark V2 mic, my friends were saying at first that I sounded like I was talking into a tin can, after some tweaking on a few different programmes on Razer to configure them that issue was gone, but I also cut in and out while talking, as well as my voice volume would fluctuate every sentence, meaning my friends only heard half of the sentence. they couldn’t tell what I was saying and I always went from quiet to loud or vice versa. Even with trying to configure them more and tweaking different settings for hours with my friends giving feedback, nothing made it better, and we deduced that it was just the bluetooth connectivity that wasn’t able to transport my voice in good quality as that is a common problem. Not saying another bluetooth headset won’t be better but just for me it wasn’t good enough. This was a massive let down as they had been so good up until this point and I was so sad to send them back, but at least I went back to the px24’s which I would buy again but I want something different.
If you have a separate standalone mic then these couldn’t be better for you, highly recommend, but im a student and I don’t want to spend more money than this to put a separate microphone as I simply don’t have it as im meant to be saving.
Overall they’re a very solid headset very nice and very comfortable, the sound that comes through the ears in amazing and I could wear them really comfortably for the hours on end that I was trying to fix the microphone. Like I previously said if you have a separate microphone or are looking to buy a separate microphone the the hyper x quad cast s is a very good one (my gf has it), it looks cool and sounds amazing, with these headphone it would be the dream set up for me but I don’t have the money to buy the microphone so that dream is going to have to wait for now. for some reason charges through micro usb, nonsense in 2022.
BUT it has awful mic sound quality, so you shouldn’t buy it if it matters to you
A great headset, Razer has decent software for adjusting sound levels to suit what you’re playing.
Honestly one of the best headsets i’ve used. Was optimistic at first with the price and thought HyperX was better quality vs Cost, but I was wrong. Razer have really knocked it out of the park with this, can wear these for an extended period of time without any irritation. Once you have their software installed it really is plug and play, if battery is running low they still work while charging, the battery life lasts multiple days on a full charge.
The only downside in my opinion is the charging cable is Micro A usb, the one they provide is a high quality version but I know Micro As can be prone to breaking, would of preferred a USB-C.

There’s a catch, the sound quality is very dependent on the EQ mixer and unfortunately Razer Synapse it’s known not to be best software regarding this, hence 3 stars on sound. I was still able to pull good sound for gaming and watching films with tweaks on the software.
Biggest impression, it causes way less fatigue and the battery seems endless when comparing it with my previous Corsair Virtuoso SE, comfort is really good and its feels more dinamic than it looks when it comes to adjustments.
I bought them when their was a massive price reduction at 89, if the price drops around these numbers and you are looking for something way above average quality
Played several rounds on warzone yesterday with both TKH spatial mode enabled and using the normal stereo mode and ended up defaulting to the stereo mode as spatial was just too quiet to pick up on the quieter sounds you need in a competitive game like footsteps, if someone is plating up, reloading or reviving a teammate etc.
Microphone quality so far have had good feedback in game from teammates and from the test recordings I’ve done in Windows it has sounded good. Uploaded a couple of clips to YouTube to hear my mic audio while playing and again the mic is clear with no audible static like I was getting with my older headset. It’s worth noting their are a number of options in the Razer software for your microphone which are worth enabling as I found these made my voice clearer during my sample recordings.
Hopefully TKH virtual surround spatial mode issue will get fixed but given people have posted about this for 4 years now with no software update to address the issue or for either company Razer/TKH to confirm the issue then I’m not going to hold my breath. I don’t mind a small drop in volume to accomplish the virtual surround sound but when I’m cracking the volume on the headset to max and still feel it needs more juice it becomes a none starter.
For reference my previous headset was a Roccat Kove 5.1 which had multiple drivers in each earpiece allowing true 5.1 surround sound in the headset but at the compromise of each driver been smaller this at least worked for surround sound and was excellent for placing player positions in a competitive online shooter. Just a shame the mic quality and ear cups have degraded over the 6 years of regular use it has given me and at a fraction of the price the current headsets are sold fo
I was a little disappointed by the sound quality at first. I use the headphones for gaming, listening to music and watching movies so I wanted good all round sound quality. The default (flat) EQ settings out of the box are not the best but once adjusted in Synapse the difference is night and day! (best EQ setting I’ve found are below). Music now sounds as good as it does on my 250 Sennheiser RS175s!
Most importantly – TURN OFF THX SPATIAL. It’s rubbish. It makes everything sound like you’re in a tin can. If you want spatial sound for gaming then I’ve been using DTS Headphone X. It cost about /$20 from the Windows store but it works brilliantly with these headphones! You really to get a sense of where the sound is coming from. Not just which direction its coming from but also the height its coming from. Full 3D sound! Its brilliant for gaming. I think you get a few weeks as a free trial so I’d highly recommend giving it a try. Windows Sonic (free with Windows 10/11) also works pretty well. You get a similar spatial affect but it seems to affect sound quality unlike DTS (not as bad as THX though!). You can also get Dolby Atmos for Windows which should offer a similar experience but I’ve not tried this yet so can’t comment.
All in all, highly recommended. No idea why the default EQ is so bad but once you adjust it you will have a top quality set of headphones, not just for gaming but for all round usage.

I needed to have a set of wireless headphones that I could mute the mic on when walking around the house when in meetings (works with Teams). Even the high end headphones like Bose and Sony don’t allow you to do that so bought these as they are wireless via a dongle (not Bluetooth) and have an nice simple volume control and best of all a mute button just for the mic on the headset so I can go and make a cup of tea when in a conference without alerting everyone but quickly put mic on if someone asks me a question.
They are NOT for replacing my music headphones so were not expecting decent sound output but they are still impressive for the money.
I would recommend if you want wireless headphones purely for work and a bit of gaming and nothing else.
Just an update… The range of the wireless is not very good to be honest so be aware you won’t be able to sit in the garden whilst talk on Teams etc so a little disappointing but otherwise still a good set of headphones.
These is are my first wireless headset, so as you can imagine I searched around for the best set as I had no clue. My budget was around 100 but I was willing too spend that extra, great reviews online was my decider and went for it!
Everything about the Blackshark Pro V2 Wireless is amazing but the biggest let down for me is the microphone. Before these I was using the Turtle Beach PX 24, I had those for about 4 year’s! Probably my best set, microphone is far superior too the Blackshark. You can’t adjust the sound on Blackshark, no app for us console user’s which is another let down. I know on PC you can!
Using these on the PS4 was an easy set up, you get everything you need out of the box. Plug in your USB dongle and simply power the headset, you’re PS4 should find them but you may have too go to device settings. I charged them fully before of course. It does last a long time too! But depends on useage…
Also these are very comfortable, well padded around the head and ears so no complaints there!
Overall I’m happy with my purchase, just wish the microphone was better!
There are some negatives though, one of which is a personal preference.
– The material on earcups and the headband, I would rather have something similar to what they’re using on hyperx cloud 2 as they’re easy to clean. I don’t think you could clean those, and over time I am sure it will pick up some dirt. This material also causes more heat, similar to my logitech headset. I can feel my ears get a little hot but it’s not a big deal, I usually keep them on 2-3 hours max so it is not a big trouble. I can’t see myself using this for 4+ hours though.
– It uses micro usb for charging which was almost a dealbreaker for me. it’s 2022, you’re selling this product around 190 (although I got it on sale for 130) and it doesn’t even have type c. I am using razer viper wireless mouse and it’s the same. certified razer moment.
– height adjustment is a little strange, there doesn’t seem to be a lock mechanism but after setting them once (which was a bit awkward, had to pull each metal thing individually which means it’s a little challenging to get perfectly equal height on every side) it did not move (yet).
Only real negative I have with these are it does get uncomfortable (i wear glasses) after an extended time 6+ hours a little more cushion would’ve went a long way. Perfectly fine without glasses or short-medium wear times.
Overall 4/5 Defiantly worth picking up a pair if you want to go wireless.
Build – 6/10
Only had this for a few days, but a solid headset. It definitely doesn’t feel like you can break this thing super easily, but I would recommend to be careful with it – as you are dealing with small mute and power buttons, thin adjustment rods, as well as a charging port that sits quite deep inside. The mic however is very rigid and of course detachable therefore replaceable.
Sound Quality – 8/10
Wired headsets like the HyperX cloud do have phenomenal sound quality, and this Razer headset cannot quite match it in that area – but, it is incredibly well balanced, not too bassy, not too loud and not too quiet. If you turn the volume on the headset towards max though, you start hearing a slight buzzing sound from the earcups. I’ve seen this complaint on several different wireless headsets though; and plus you can’t hear it if something else is playing. Keeping the volume neutral is plenty loud enough for gaming and listening to music.
Mic quality – 9/10
Word of warning – mic quality on wireless headsets is generally always bad. The microphone on the Blackshark V2 pro does not offer to change that. With no software tweaks it’s really bad, but there’s a very good reason why this was my #1 choice on mic quality in the wireless range. Razer Synapse software allows you to adjust the EQ of your mic – and I’ve found some perfect settings that make it sound unbelievably good for a headset, never mind a wireless one. If you don’t want to tweak, you can stick the ‘broadcast’ preset on to get the most out of this. I personally use [4,3,2,1,-1,-8,-7,0,1,2].
Comfort – 8.5/10
This headset sits comfy and you can forget it’s on, but it’s obviously a tad heavier than your average wired one. That being said, if comfort is a concern, this headset will not disappoint you – my ears don’t get hot or start hurting, it stays on and is easy to adjust with the rod system by just pulling it around.
Range – 7/10
This headset works from about 10-15ft away, if you’re planning to stray a few rooms away it should be fine, but don’t expect it to work from downstairs or the other end of a large house.
Sound quality is excellent, fairly neutral with enough bass to be present but not overwhelming.
Battery life seems fine, rated for “upto” 24 hours and I believe it.
They’re suprisingly light and comfortable for a wireless headset – the earcups are soft and there’s enough pressure to keep them on your head during quick movements without being so tight that they would get uncomfortable during long sessions.
The Synapse software is fine, passable… If you have any other Razer products then you’ll likely be aware of it anyway.
One downside of the product (unfortunately) is the microphone, which is woefully quiet unless boosted from within the synapse software (even with input volume set to 100% in Windows). Once boosted, and the “broadcast” microphone profile applied the microphone quality is great (according to friends on discord) – Unfortunately there’s no such workaround for the sidetone feature.
Sidetone allows some audio to be piped directly from the microphone to your headset, emulating open back headphones somewhat – this eliminates the issue of not being able to hear yourself and talking too loudly. It’s also essential (for me) to be able to hear the missus, front door, dog etc (normal home stuff). Unfortunately, while there is an option for sidetone in the software, it absolutely does not work. Confirmed this via finding multiple forum posts, bug reports etc online – and yes I tried updating firmware/software.
As such, I can only recommend these to someone who isn’t interested in sidetone and is fine having a noise-isolated experience with their headphones. If that’s you then this is an undoubtedly excellent headset.

This gaming headset is very comfortable to wear and surprisingly light. The 50mm drivers are quite astonishing in the depth of sound produced and are actually quite musically adept. The dedicated wireless dongle connects effortlessly to the headset and can manage to work well even when I am 10 ft away from the PC. Past that or behind masonry they do struggle but it’s unlikely I will be using them beyond that distance. The best thing is that there is little to no latency and games where this is important have not been adversely affected. I can keep up with my grandson on Fortnite with no problem. The headset comes with a bag, a micro USB charging cable, and a 3.5mm jack cable so I can use the headset on numerous devices.
If I had one niggle it would be that the mic is very quiet unless in the perfect position for your mouth. But when that’s resolved my voice comes in clear to my squad mates.
These are excellent for watching films as well given their THX credentials which, while difficult to find content that uses it, is excellent.
The fact that these aren’t caparisoned with an excess of RGB lighting (the only micro LED serves as an ‘on’ and ‘charging’ indicator) like many other gaming peripherals is an added bonus as I really don’t want to look like a neon billboard while playing.
So they may be a little pricey but the engineering and quality certainly makes them worth the price. I don’t think I will be going back to wired headsets any time soon.
The over comfort is good although if u had a bit of ear sticking out of the side when talking to someone and forget to put the headset back on normally, u defiantly feel it and after a while does hurt. It does keep the ears at a good temp and didn’t have to worry about taking head set off for a breather at all.
The battery was good I don’t really end up charging it more that ever 2-3 days, which is a nice change when atm i am using them about 16 hours a day. The plug out mic is really good and super nice change compared to other head sets but the quality is ok but its not the best sound. but the other appearance is rather good though I do worry about it breaking but it has broken yet.
Buttons of the headset is rather nice having a volume control on the headset is really nice and I end up using more than i thought I would. The power button mute button are really nice and there is a dedicated audio jack which is free to use but i don’t need to.

Still great no problems, The battery life has certainly gone down in performance but I can still get about a day of charge. Mic Quality is still great and not problems with the removable mic, i thought this would be first to fail it didn’t at all. Still 10/10
The only two downsides the first I’ve found is that because of the matt black colouring finger marks do show up easily.
The second is that there is some white noise even at 50% volume (using the volume dial on the headset) but it is very very slight and I’m 18 so I’m probably more sensitive to lower/higher pitches, it is inaudible when audio is playing.
The most pressing problem I find is that at 100% volume (again using the headset dial) there is loud white noise at all times even when audio is playing, the solution I’ve found is finding a volume level where white noise can’t be heard and then turn up the volume using audio controls on the device you’re using.
The white noise problem is only a thing while using it wirelessly.
Software: Razer software is hot garbage and the only detects the headphones correctly when plugged directly into the pc (not via usb hub.) The THX isn’t great which is a pity, fine for movies but not for gaming and music. But the standard driver is VERY good and VERY loud. Also the power gage in Razer Synapse is terrible, literally just shows a batter icon with no percentage graph which doesn’t help.
Comfort: They are super comfortable. One of the reasons I sent back the Arctis Pro’s was they touched your ears and hurt after a couple hours. These I could probably wear for 24hrs without issue.
Range: I have found you get very good range if you place the dongle facing up on a usb desk extender. Allowing me to walk to the kitchen and bedroom without interruption.
Conclusion: Given the price point (I paid 156) and given the sound quality. They are by far the best wireless gaming headset out there. I would definitely recommend. Pity about the software otherwise they would have got 5/5.
Sound quality is great and I can barely hear anything outside of the noise coming from the speakers. My wife has to tap me on the shoulder more often than not for me to know she’s chatting – result!
Comfort is very good, I can wear these literally for hours and hours without ear discomfort. Very light considering the quality, so again you kind of forget you are wearing them.
Robust too – they don’t feel like they are going to break anytime soon and will last the test of time so long as I am careful. I recommend purchasing a desk hanging hinge for putting them out of the way when not in use!
Battery charge time is very good, all done in an hour or two. Battery life is good, but you can always go wired whilst charging, so never need to go without having them.
Works on my mobile nicely wired and sound is great.
Negatives – the software, I found it difficult to know exactly what download was needed to control the set up of the headset. Minor issue which is now solved. I rarely ever mess with the sound settings, as the option it is setup for seems to work for almost everythinig, games or music.
Music, ie non gaming; sound is great. Because the headset limits outside interferance it really lets the sound boom in a positive way.
I was slightly dubious over buying these, but very pleased I’ve done so – even though they aren’t cheap, but you get what you pay for.
