Good item to purchase, but not quick to start up again once you stop it,while cutting a hedge

I was given this tool to review by Xceed and this is my non biased review.

Through my years as a home owner, I dread cutting hedges. I have lost time the amount of time I have cut the cords on several makes of hedge trimmers. I have always wanted to go cordless but thought that the 18V wouldn’t cut the mustard. Along comes Xceed with the 36V 60cm cordless trimmer and I can say it’s good.

The trimmer comes with the charger, battery and blade guard. Now it has a Hedge debris collector but mostly I found it got in my way when I was using it on my hedge….. Now the debris collector maybe suitable for someone else but it wasn’t for me. I started cutting my hedge at about 4pm and finished about 6pm. The battery lasted for most of the cutting but it did die about 10 mins before I finished. Luckily I had a spare 36V Xceed battery that I have for a strimmer. The good thing (with most manufactures now) is the tools have interchangeable batterys (same Voltage). As soon as I put the new battery in, I finished it in no time.

Now, it’s not all sweetness and light with it. I did find a delay from when I depressed the two handles for the motor to kick in. This was a pain as I kept on thinking that the battery was dead but then it kicked it. I’d rather it didn’t have this delay and I am not sure if this is universal through all cordless trimmers. This is my only gripe. The trimmer is not too heavy and with the cord, its a breeze to use.

All in all, this is a great hedge trimmer and it coped with my hedge, (see pics) is a tough thick hedge. I would recommend this but I’d like to know when you do buy it, if there is a delay with yours too.

Now I can Cut the Hedge and Not the Cord.
