Brilliant. Son loves it. Drum teacher says it’s a very good kit. Hits all the right notes.

Bought this for my daughter birthday. I wish I would’ve known that for the lessons. You have to have window’s or Apple account to set up. But she loves it great for kids to get into drumming

Bought this for my son, he is 11 years old and almost 5ft its fantastic for his age and as a starter he gets to start learning with the 60 free lessons, the sound quality is fantastic, through his head phones and he can bang and crash as much as he likes without disturbing the neighbours, he is thrilled to bits with it. Very happy with this purchase.

Bought as a Christmas gift for a 11 to boy as his first drum set and he loves it so it works on the most important level.

The built quality is decent enough and holds up so far. It’s plasticky but seems solid enough. The buttons on the electronic panel have a ver mushy feel, quite horrible. The less is said about the included headphones the better – just a waste of plastic.

Overall decent value for money for a young beginner.

I got this as a Christmas gift for my son who recently started drum lessons. Please know that this item is for kids; it is sized for a child. While it works great and seems sturdy, it only works with headphones; there is no internal speakers. In order to hear the sound without the headphones you need to connect a speaker through and aux cable. For that reason I gave it only 4 stars and rated the volume and sound quality low.

This is the perfect drumset to us sensitive ears parents with beginner drum players. We can’t hear anything only my 11 yr old son can while he has on the headphones. My 29 yr brother who is a drummer looovvees it and showed us how we can add a speaker to it if we wanted to hear it. I highly recommend it for the price.

This drum kit seems to be well made and so far has withstood my 5 year old and 7 year old playing with it. My 7 year old expressed interest in learning drums, but I didn’t feel like spending a ton on a set he may lose interest in. This seemed like a great compromise.

There is a metronome and a coach function. It seems pretty inclusive for the price range.

Set up was super simple. It came with one tool that I had to use to tighten down the drum heads and joints once I got it set where it should be.

    Overall, great kit!

We bought these drums for my son as a first kit. He’s asked about drums since he could first talk, but we’ve been hesitant as most parents are. Drums are loud, They take a lot of space, etc. this kit from Alesis is a great solution. Being electronic the audible acoustic noise is minimal. He plays them with headphones, the included sounds, while not professional grade, are fantastic for learning.

This kit gives him a chance to learn an instrument, pretend to be Animal from the Muppets, and get some noise/wiggles out in a non-destructive, productive manner.

Negatives: the hardware isn’t the best. Hitting with hands or aggressively with sticks can tilt the top racked Tom’s,crash, and ride symbol down.

Even with the one mentioned negative this kit is totally worth it. I’d definitely recommend them over a typical toy electronic kit, or a child’s acoustic kit. He’s happy, I’m Happy. All around it’s an awesome purchase.

Trs bon rapport qualit prix.. je la trouve un peu petite entre 95 et 100 de hauteur. Une housse de transport serait bien proposer et faciliter la recherche. Trs bon son et pas agressif.

Perfect for my son who just turned 5. Pads are small good for beginner kids. Kick and hi hat pedals are pads which might slip, better to get pedal ones. Quality is excellent. Easy to assemble

Both hi hat and bass drum “pedals” are nothing like normal bass drum pedals and will likely break over a short period of time long before the trigger in them actually wears out. They are a very poor design. Overall the sound of the drums are decent, pads are decent, etc. especially for beginners. I wouldn’t but this for anyone older than 5. My son is 5 and is on the small size for his age. He was doing well learning drums so we sold this kit after a few weeks and moved him to a Roland VAD306 which was a much better fit and will easily adjust as he grows, granted it’s a lot more money

My daughter loves it. The free classes are only 5 minutes long per day so that is a bummer but you can pay $20 a month for unlimited play

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIts a great starter set for a young child. We bought it for my sons ninth birthday and I dont see it lasting him much longer size wise to be honest. He takes lessons on a full size set so adjusting to the smaller size to practice is awkward for him. Electronically and quality wise its a great set, but size is geared towards smaller kids.

I have been drumming for 16+ years and I find the Alesis debut kit to be very good. it is small for my height but for the space limitations, I have right now it is perfect and it works great as an auxiliary kit to go with my Mapex V-series acoustic kit.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI like all of the features of this Alesis debut kit, my son is only 9 and just a beginner. The set comes with a drum key and adjustable heads, so not only is he learning tempo and technique, he gets a feel for head tension preference and pad position. As time goes by, I’m confident this kit will provide a solid foundation for advancement to the next level.

As for the electronics and samples, they are pretty good. I am an Alesis fan and this is better that I would expect at this price point, so I’m pretty happy with the features and kit samples overall. This is a good starter kit.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersA drum set for my child that won’t ruin my eardrums or sanity? Yes, please. Would be nice to have an audio option beyond headphones though. Setup is easy, but make sure to tighten EVERYTHING or it will collapse. Very happy I can fold it up and store it when he inevitably decides he isn’t interested and moves on to the next thing…

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersSo this is a MINI kit, not a Beginner’s kit. The crossbar which holds the two toms and the crash and ride are only 24 inches off the ground at their highest setting. That’s super super short, even for most kids. I didn’t take a star off for that, although there’s nowhere that shows how tall this thing is in the description. But when I ordered a “Kids kit” I assumed it would be smaller, just not this tiny.

I was originally going to purchase the Alesis Drums Nitro Mesh Kit for a $100 more, and then saw this and thought “hey, beginner’s kit for a beginner.” WRONG. Spend the extra money and get a full size kit unless your kid is like 7 or 8 years old.

The melodics website frustrating. I’m a geek and couldn’t figure out why it would not let me register the product. I tried to register the serial # so I could access the drum lessons, but it was impossible to do so. I left feedback and we’ll see if they can tell me what i’m doing wrong. I took one star off for that. It should be simple to register a product, but you should have to in order to access free drum lessons…IMHO

The base drum pedal is SUPER sensitive, which makes it a little hard to keep just one beat when you want one beat. It has a habit of double beats and random beats if you even touch it. It’s probably because it’s on a carpet so I’ll most likely put down something hard for it to sit on instead.

There is music you can play along to on the controller, but that music isn’t for beginners at all; you really have to learn the basics before you can use any of the music on the controller.

I get that this is a beginner’s kit, and a “kids” kit, but I was surprised at how SMALL (as in low to the floor) it is.
I’m either going to replace the legs with longer pvc or pipe to raise it up or I’m going to return it and get the Alesis Drums Nitro Mesh Kit instead for the extra $100.

    PROS:

The mesh heads are super, it comes with a key to adjust the head tension which is awesome.
The controller is very simple and easy to use.
It took me less than 10 minutes to set up the kit and start playing.
It literally comes with EVERYTHING you need to start playing the drum kit.
The pre-set drum kits you can choose from are very cool.
There is no delay at all when hitting any surface.

    CONS
This is a MINI kit. It’s REALLY low to the floor.
Also the mesh heads are 6 inches, so MINI.
Can’t adjust the cymbal heights, they are at the height they’re at which is about 10″-12″ inches above crossbeam.
Floor pedals are very sensitive and no way (that I found ) to adjust the sensitivity (will research this).
Trying to register product online was impossible.

Overall, as I mentioned, unless your kid is under 4 feet tall or so, this is too small for them. Spend the extra $100 and get the Alesis Drums Nitro Mesh Kit instead.
