Bosch HMT75M451B Serie 2 Freestanding 800W Microwave Oven, 17 litre, Brushed Steel

MDA BannerMain ImageAutoPilot 7

Easy to use

The stainless steel design is enhanced with easy-to-use push buttons and pop-out dial controls. Electronic controls and a clear LED display ensure that choosing settings is easy, while the 99 minute electronic clock timer comes in very handy.

An interior light allows you to keep an eye on your food without having to interrupt food by opening the door.

Cooking and reheating food is easy thanks to a maximum power output of 800 W.

Automatic cooking made easy

With AutoPilot 7 you can cook your meal to perfection. After placing the dish in the product, set – out of 7 – the appropriate automatic program in the display menu. Just add the weight of the dish and press “Start”. AutoPilot then takes over and determines the cooking mode, temperature and cooking duration. It even switches off the program towards the end of the cooking time. As some dishes with the AutoPilot require the use of ovenware with a lid, the interior walls also stay clean. Cooking couldn’t be simpler.

Capacity

Featuring a roomy 17 litre capacity, this Bosch microwave has 5 microwave power levels, with a maximum output of 800W. Programmes feature weight automatic settings, in which you input the weight of your food and the food type, and let the microwave automatically choose the correct setting to cook or defrost your food.

Includes a 245mm turntable with wire grid accessory.

Arrived on time very well packed; I did my research before buying so I knew what to expect, it’s exactly what I wanted

A great microwave and of the excellent standard you would expect from a Bosch appliance. The only reason I’ve given 4 stars for easy to use is because the fan seems to continue after the cooking has stopped. We had bought this for my elderly mother who finds this a little disconcerting as her previous one didn’t do this!

I must have researched my recent microwave purchase for an entire weekend – because it seems ‘no microwave is perfect’! (Judging by user reviews and expert guides) So, I opted for the ‘least worst’ and I’m happy that I did. Very impressed with this product – it looks good (for a microwave); it’s compact (so fits on my small shelf); and it doesn’t leave a Loch Lomond-Esque pool of water every time you use it. So, it’s good if not perfect! Yes, it is only 600watts (800 for liquids), yes it does make quite a noise (fan) when cooking, yes it does have very basic functions! But it’s a good, solid machine with a 2 year guarantee- and I’m happy with that!

We bought one 4 years ago and it is still going. We bought a second one for our small kitchen upstairs while my wife is recovering from a hip op

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe bought this model seven years ago and have used it virtually daily. Sadly, it started to lose its efficiency so we looked for another microwave, we were so surprised to see the same model for sale so had no problems with our decision to buy another one. Very satisfied with the product and the supplier.

I purchased this for my elderly mother. I could not get to see her so I arranged for it to be delivered directly so a nephew could set it up for her. Delivery was prompt and on time and the machine itself seems sufficiently simple and similar to her previous machine for her to get into a routine of using.

The quality of this product is beyond question. I have 4 stars for durabilty , only because I couldn’t possibly say after only a few days. I am very pleased with the service I have been given. Many thanks.

I wanted a new microwave to replace our 26 year old Philips model which had finally bitten the dust. Bosch is a brand I trust but I was wary that some of their build quality may be compromised now everything is made in China.

I was relieved to find that it is very well made, sturdy and appears easy to clean. Cooked soup so far, without any trouble at all. The controls are intuitive and easy to use, though I did refer to the manual to reduce the duration of the “ready” beeps.

The fan continues a little while after cooking to cool it down which is very useful if you are likely to want to use it again within a few minutes. Our old model would cut out for a while if food inside had made it too hot.

Would not hesitate to recommend. I hope it lasts as long as our old Philips.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHaving recently had 2 Panasonic models which developed faults and were returned, I decided to go for an alternative manufacturer. I find this microwave easy to use, does what it says and looks neat. It is also compact externally which fits into the space I have and internally, although is only 17 litre capacity, it appears more spacious than the two 20 litre Panasonic models I previously purchased. It will comfortably take a 27cm plate and is taller than expected internally, easily taking a large 2 litre jug for porridge making (which were both a problem with the 20 litre Panasonic model)! As for the prolonged bleep at the end of the programme which some reviews have commented on as being irritating, there are instructions to change this quite simply to a 3-beep finish signal. I would recommend as a good looking, basic model.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had fancier microwaves, but this thing feels like it’s going to last generations. It’s simple and well built. Compact enough for a UK kitchen but cooks really well. Love it.

This was ordered to replace a much cheaper model which had died. When it came the door appeared not to open when the door-opening button was pushed. I contacted the supplier who replied promptly and suggested a course of action. However, in the meantime I found that the button simply required a much firmer push than with the defunct oven. (Good, solid German engineering!). Full marks to the supplier (Luzern) for their rapid response.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBelieve it or not, this is the first Microwave oven that I’ve ever owned. I wanted something fairly basic and this Bosch MT75M451B fits the bill for me.

The Bosh MT75M451B is good value for the money and I was also impressed with the build quality of this microwave and the 800 watts is more than sufficient for my needs.

As you would expect being a veggie I don’t do a lot of cooking, but I found the microwave invaluable for quickly defrosting things like bread and doing jacket potatoes, so far I have had excellent results with the cooker. The only little niggle that I have with the microwave is that it’s a little noisy when in use, but as I said this is my first microwave so I don’t know if this is normal.

Just to add, I was very impressed with the very quick delivery from the Republic of Ireland.

This is a very simple to use and practical microwave.
    Excellent value.
Its a silver colour, but not a show piece, so if you want style over usage, suggest you look elsewhere.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHaving had good experiences with other Bosch products, we looked at replacing our previous microwave with a Bosch product if possible. We have not been disappointed. We wanted a MW that was robust, understated, yet exuding quality in it looks and feel, and most of all get the basics right: simple to set up and to operate in its basic functions, as past experience has taught us we don’t really use all the advanced functionality available on many models.
If you are looking for the same, do not look any further…

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersDelivery was within the time frame promised and the machine arrived undamaged. This microwave is easy to operate and looks good. It is large enough for most things but will no rehate serving dishes for more than, say, 2 – 3 people. Happy to recommend, especially at the price.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersWhen our latest (high-name) microwave oven became badly rusted, we had to purchase a new microwave. As judged by the specifications and reviews we decided to order the BoschHMT75M451B 17 litre oven. Sure we would have liked one of the now-unavilable heavy solid stainless steel models with simple steel rotator like long-previous Sharp microwave. However after receiving the Bosch model, this week (July 13, 2011) we are delighted with it. We had it up and running on the day of receipt. It’s interior white gloss finish appears better than the grey-painted interior of the previous one which went rusty. Further, the glass platter (rotator) is designed to slot into projections on the base, thus avoiding slippage. The long-time bleeper on completion of the re-heat or cooking is easily adjusted to e.g. 3 bleeps. In my experience, if you need a larger microwave you will have to buy the bells-and-whistle type from a supplier of your choice. However we prefer to toast, brown or grill using a simple toaster and non-microwave mini-oven which are spaced around our small-area kitchen tops as convenient (or even the main oven! but this is a waste for two people on a daily basis).

Golden Review Award: 53 From Our UsersWe had just re-fitted our Kitchen and disposed of a Hitachi microwave that was only a year old but absolutely HUGE and would have taken up valuable worktop space. We had envisaged having a new microwave to be sat on an eye-level shelf amongst other cupboards and things. We don’t really use microwaves much, just for occasional re-heating of stuff, or defrosting/steaming veg. I know some small microwaves are really small, but having a look round the various sites and shops I noticed that it’s not all about the internal capacity, as even 17litre models can vary wildly in size.

I had allowed for 50cm width (to include the breathing space on the ventilation side) in my shelf slot, which limited me to a few brands of microwave. Initially, I thought it would have been width alone that would have restricted me, but it turns out the depth of the microwave is a bigger factor. The shelf depth of a standard eye-level kitchen unit is about 30cm. Having the microwave stick out 2 or 3 centimeters is fine but I wouldn’t want any more than that. This limited us to just Bosch and Panasonic (from my research). Seeing as how we had a Bosch kettle and a Bosch fridge/freezer, we thought we’d stick with Bosch as we were familiar with them.

Fortunately, this Bosch solo microwave (doesn’t have the grill function as we didn’t need it) has met every expectation. Not only does it look nicely subdued in it’s styling, it has nice clean lines, with simple, easy to use functions. One huge fail of our last microwave was that it used an ipod-style touch wheel to change settings, which sounded nice in principal, but was a complete dog to use in practice. This Bosch has a nice pop-out dial, and a selection of simple buttons. if you frequently use the same time/power combination over and over again, you can retain that one setting in it’s Memory for instant recall, like a calculator. The door mechanics work with a nice quality feel, the door doesn’t flex in a cheap fashion, it’s not too noisy, it juuuuust-about fits a standard dinner plate in the event that we ever needed to use it to reheat an entire plate of food. At 800W it’s more powerful than a lot of the compact models – although the manual suggests that the full 800W power shouldn’t be used for long periods (over 30minutes at a time) not that we’d ever need to do that. And another plus, is that it’s not nearly as heavy as our old one either, which was reassuring for putting it on a shelf.

It may not have many bells or whistles, and it may have been quite pricey at 111 (at time of purchase), but it is totally worth every penny.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersThere are microwaves that probably do much more than this one, but if looking for a great stainless steel finished microwave which performs all the basics and a little bit more, then this is a good buy. And 17 litres is a good size for most of not all basic cooking/reheating needs.

Golden Review Award: 69 From Our UsersThis is a very well built, nicely designed and durable compact microwave (I’ve owned it for over a year and a half). As a father of three babies our microwaves have a pretty hard life being used throughout the day including heating up numerous bottles of milk. Our last microwave (a Morphy Richards) lasted only 2 years before unceremoniously giving up the ghost in a flash of sparks. We also have a fairly limited amount of space within our kitchen so ideally we wanted to combine durability with a compact design. Once delivered – we were pleasantly surprised by how big the inner capacity of the oven actually is: Whilst we would mostly be using the microwave for the aforementioned bottles of milk, it can also easily handle a reasonably sized round casserole dish. The design and ease of use is very simple and intuitive. The only minor gripe would be the automatic defrosting setting which requires you to refer to the manual to find the corresponding number (1-7 I think!) to the particular food stuff you are defrosting as the Microwave will only display a number. This is clearly a slightly more expensive compact microwave, but so far I’d definitely say it was worth the higher outlay.
