This bench had rave reviews so that’s why I decided to buy it. It was a bit fiddly assembling it on my own but I managed but was disappointed when I looked at it. The reason is that the arm rests aren’t square with each other. One is pointing slightly outwards and the other slightly inwards. I even completely dismantled it and swapped everything around but the result was the same.

I won’t be sending it back as it is pretty solid and reasonably comfy and it does look nice but for the price I am just a bit underwhelmed.
UPDATE: The fact it is slightly askew doesn’t bother me so much now and the bench is solid and definitely looks OK so I can after all recommend it.

This bench was a doodle to assemble – took about ten minutes all told using the Allen key supplied with the bolts and washers inside the box. All holes were well aligned and the finish is good with all ends protected against the British weather. The dark colour of the coating on the metal will mean the bench will get quite hot to touch in direct sunlight but we are intending to buy a slimline rectangular cushion to sit on to make it more comfortable. Over all I am very pleased with this purchase replacing a more expensive wooden slatted and cast iron bench which got rusty and rotted over time. Hopefully this bench will last a lot longer.
