My back lawn was a bit of a disaster area with bald patches, lumps, dents, moss, and many weeds. I put the Hyundai scarifier on lowest setting and attacked the lawn. It only took about 30 minutes, the same time as to mow it. Then seeded it, put on top soil, and watered it. At this point, I was beginning to have serious doubts as the back garden resembled a mud bath. Four weeks later, I had a really nice lawn. In summary, the Hyundai was a good buy. The whole job took an afternoon and cost a lot less than getting someone in to do it.

A good lawn rake and scarifier, comes with both a rake and scarifier cartridges, which are easy to change.
Made by a well known and reputable manufacturer AND it has a 3 year warranty.

The front lawn has been neglected recently and was in major need of some tlc. With the old scarifier giving up the ghost I plumped for this one and was delighted with the ease of use and results. The rake pulled up the debris, but special praise goes for the blades which, on the lowest setting ripped the lawn to shreds. I got two bins full of thatch up (and when there’s that much it doesn’t matter too much about the size of the basket as there’s still a lot of emptying to be done) and after a few week’s recovery I hit it again, plus used the blades low down to turn over the soil to allow for a nice medium to reseed. That was another two bin fulls! Starting to look a lot better already, but there’s still a lot more for it to drag up in the autum

This certainly is effective in taking out the most from the lawn but have to stop frequently to empty the collection bag. Otherwise it leaves the raked up stuff on the lawn. I found a good way to get the left overs picked up is to raise the rake to its highest setting and go over the area again. This then leaves very little on the lawn surface. I haven’t tried it with the aerator blades yet. Now I have this I can rake the lawn twice a year, so it will be cheaper than hiring one, though the only ones available for hire locally were big petrol powered ones. They were very expensive.
I am pleased with this except for the grass picking up system, which seems to be a weakness on all of them. Having the bag at the back probably is better than one in the front.

Bought to replace an ancient lawnraker whose motor was beginning to fail, this machine is just the job.
Plenty of power to do a proper scarifying, it didn’t take too long to do my back lawn. Unfortunately like numerous previous reviewers I feel the designers really need to enlarge the collection bag which had to be emptied after each strip across the lawn – it wouldn’t complete a whole length! That apart, an excellent machine with appropriate power to work effectively.

This is a good machine but the grass collection box is very small to contain the waste product and should be a lot bigger.
It is lightweight and easy to use.

Used this product for scarifying. Job done very quickly. The collection box was surplus to requirements as got full very quickly. Easier to rake up dead moss than try to collect in box. Maybe OK if very small lawn. Very satisfied with performance. Not as noisy as I expected.

Easy to assemble and work well. The moss collector is awkward and difficult to fit whilst working. It is also too small but typical of similar units. Not too many key components made of plastic. Too expensive

Initially a little worried as it was so light. Also worried by the fact that the handles into body are secured by very small screws. But then you realise how deep into the body the handles are actually going and they really are very solid. All fears banished as I scarified/aerated 300 sq metres of lawn straight out of the box and it didn’t miss a beat. Garden now looks like something from the second month of the Somme but that’s what it needed to have done. Light and easy to use.
Hate the cable of course and realise why most of my tools are battery or petrol driven. Small inconveniance at this price for the performance. And yes ,I fully agree that the collection bag is ridiculously small. Take it off and run your lawnmower afterwards as a hoover instead. That’s what I did to save endless raking.

Effective as a scarifier on my relatively small lawn. Fairly short cable so requires an extension lead. Biggest drawback is the tiny collecting bag. Gave up on emptying this constantly and used the mower subsequently to collect loosened moss and debris. Have not used the rake attachment yet so can’t comment on its effectiveness. Overall, good value for money and does the job.

The lawn rake was very easy to assemble, took me about 20 minutes. I’ve just used it for the first time on my lawn and it has plenty of power and raked up loads of dead thatch and moss, which filled my green wheely bin. It is a doddle to change between the rake and the aerator, just two Allen bolts to undo. I’ve only given four stars because some of the plastic parts seem flimsy and look like they might break quite easily.

Really powerful scarifier for it’s size, very pleased with it and would definitely recommend it for the price.

First time doing the scarfing, best to use without collecting box, collect the moss with lawnmower, collect leftovers with rack adapter. All in all a good machine
