I have been doing yoga for over 7 years and tried various mats. As other reviewers state, the Liforme Original Mat is indeed probably the grippiest mat out there and superb for doing yoga on.

There is a caveat to this though. I love it as a mat for yoga only at home or when driving in a car to a class.

IMO it is not suitable for carrying on a bike/ walking to class or taking public transport. This is because the downside of having all the grip it provides, is the weight of 2.5kg, which is very heavy for a mat. I am a strong yogi chap but basically it is a nuisance to walk anywhere with this mat (even with the sturdy mat bag it comes with). After 5 minutes it feels like carrying a log around with you!

So I am a fan of the Liforme mat, but only in certain circumstances. I find the best mat for carrying about easily is the Yogamatters sticky mat. Obviously it is not as grippy as the Liforme though.

Brilliant grip but very heavy to carry abou

I’ve found the guide lines really useful in making sure my form is correct.

I have two Liforme yoga mats – one I keep at home and the other I use at the gym for Yoga and Pilates.
The mat is quite heavy to carry to and from the gym but the quality, grip and alignment guides are worth it!
I did contemplate buying a Travel Yoga Mat for the gym but it is thinner than the Yoga Mat.

Having recently started doing yoga again. I had been using my old mat and I started to notice it coming apart and showing real wear. It was also moving about a lot when transitioning different positions during my sessions. I decided to for this mat as a replacement and I am delighted I did I know it’s more expensive than a lot of other mats but it is high quality and it does not move on the ground or stretch. Highly recommend this product.

Such a great grippy yoga mat which is extra cushioned for a great Savasana. Previously had the limited edition red one which has lasted great for a few years but left it overseas. Love the vibrancy of this green colour I picked too.

    It us easy to clear
    The non- slip is excellent
The only downside is it feels colder to lay on than other mats in meditation.

The best yoga mat ever! Will never slip on this mat. Love it and would definitely buy another.
Only downside is that it is very heavy. The carry bag could do with being a little longer. You need to roll it up perfectly to get it back in the bag and this can be tricky.

This really does work. My hands used to slip all the time on my old mat (which was about 30 I think). I resorted to using a towel at the end of the mat. After 6 months of having this I’m delighted enough to leave a rare review. It works. No towel needed. It’s still in good condition too. Yes it’s a bit pricey, but I’d highly recommend it and will buy the same again when the time comes – given the current condition and usage (twice a week), that’ll be 2+ years off yet.

I use the mat for Yoga and find myself more confident and stable during balance poses as my feet do not move – no stretching of, or slipping on the mat’s surface.
Markings on the surface are very useful to position yourself for certain postures.
Excellent, just what I’ve been looking for.

I changed my yogi mat to liforme because of the grip. I have the 2 other 2 yoga mat but they are slippery unlike liforme expensive but worth the money. I love my mat and i am planning to get other colors.

    Best mat ever !
Grip is perfect so as the comfort , I know it is a lot of money for a yoga mat , the investment is for yogis that are on the mat daily and with a dynamic practice.

This is the ultimate in yoga mats. Ecologically sound, offering everything a yoga practioner could want in their practise , made for yogis by yogis. Best ever.

Hands down the best yoga mat I’ve ever owned.

I’ve always struggled with my hands slipping on other mats when doing a more high intensity workout but not a single slip on this one. The grip is great.

Very easy to wipe down and clean also. The price does seem a bit steep but its definitely worth it. I would highly recommend this product.

Great grip lovely colour and alignment feature is perfect. Only time will tell if it was worth paying a little more for a quality mat but it is definitely fit for purpose.

I have to say, its fantastic! Just not sure where they reach 105 retail price. I’m a very experienced product designer and inventor and 105 for this crazy expensive. BUT, as I say, the mat is AMAZING.

I was unsure about the cost compared to other mats but as it was recommended to me by more experienced yoga practitioners I invested in it and I am very pleased I did. Non slip surface helps when its sweaty and hot, its heavy and thick so doesn’t move once laid down and provides excellent cushioning and I am finding the alignment lines very useful.

Very grippy which is just what I wanted as it makes standing poses feel so much more secure. A bit thinner than I am used and it is heavier to carry (in its case with shoulder strap) to but neither is a problem. The lines are interesting – be good to know more about how their shape and position was determined – so far I have found the centre line especially helpful. Seems expensive for a yoga mat but it is the best one I have had by a long way so I do not regret spending the extra/difference on it. Hope it lasts a good long time.

No problems with the product at all, but it’s quite expensive for what is essentially a rectangle of rubber.

I simply love this yoga mat. It is great to have the alignment prompts and am extremely happy with the grip! Yes they are expensive but it is awesome and if you practice regularly so worth the investment.

I love this mat, I was a tad apprehensive about buying it due to the price , but the alignment likes just help me so much , stops me doubting that I have the right positioning , I’m only a beginner and this mat has encouraged me to practice more at home and has made my practice more fulfilling. Easy to store away thanks to the carry bag , and the extra size means I stay on the mat , well bar when I end up falling due to my lack of experience !

This is a fantastic yoga mat!
The backing makes it completely non slip, even on a wooden floor.
I suffer from knee problems and this mat has a good level of comfort and support.
The markings also help with alignment while I’m practicing.
Not the cheapest of mats but after trying several others definitely worth i

Amazing quality and wonderful to use. My only problem is that it’s very heavy. I think it’s more suitable to use at home rather than carry around. I have now ordered the travel matWhich I understand is much lighter. Very pleased overall.

My new mat has made already made a big difference for me in my yoga classes. The mat doesn’t slip on the floor and even when my hands were sweaty they didn’t slip at all. I felt much more stable. The markings on the mat help a bit too.

This is an amazing yoga mat, the markings make it so easy to align and you never slip as the grip makes you feel so secure when doing any pose. I suppose the only negative is that it’s heavy to carry if I am walking for any distance. But I would never use any other mat now and love the range of colours.

Comfortable mat, hands don’t slip or move. I’ve only been this mat for a few weeks so I can’t comment on durability. The bag is a nice bonus!

Best yoga mat on the market by a mile.
Totally non slip right from the go. No need to bed in like most other yoga mats that claim to be non slip. Light and portable. Comes with a great carry case.
Spend the extra money on this one and you will not be disappointed.

I bought this as I had been doing yoga 6 months and wanted to invest in a better mat than the 5 one from Tesco. This was a major upgrade and I did a lot of research. I ended up getting it for 80 from the official website and its definitely worth that.
I didn’t slip on the cheap mat but I do experience a small amount of slipping on this one in downward dog, but otherwise I am very happy with it.
I dont think you can go wrong with this mat. The bag it comes with is nice as well.

I tore a shoulder ligament recently during Lockdown when my flimsy home mat slipped during a transition and I landed awkwardly. This meant no yoga or anything much for 4 weeks and still twinging – NOT GOOD. That decided me – invest in a good mat. This mat has restored my confidence and then some, plus it’s so much more comfortable – kneeling poses now don’t come with a wince! I didn’t think I’d make use of the alignment markers, being a fairly seasoned practitioner, but actually I do find myself re-aligning. They are useful, for sure. I haven’t commented on the mat’s durability as I haven’t had it long enough but I suspect, with the right care, it should hold together well.

I like the colour. I’d heard these were great mats but had never tried them. They are great for grip when I get sweaty in rocket yoga but also comfy for yin, meditation, breathing and savasana. Perfect for home yoga.

I absolutely love this mat. It’s super grippy and heavy enough to lie flat without curling.it looks really stylish too and the addition of markers is a clever idea to help you position yourself correctly on the mat. The carry case is also good quality and essential for transporting the mat to classes. The mat is pricey but is worth the additional cost!

It is such an exceptional product….not a magic carpet, but a magic space it creates. It would encourage practice…not that a discerning Yogi would need that !!!

I have used my mat every other day for over a year now and think that it is the best yoga mat which I’ve had. I like that there are alignment markings which have helped with my posture in stance with excellent grippy surface. The one fallback was that it was expensive but over all with the longevity of use, it has been worth it. Some of the other reviews have mentioned the smell – yes there is a slight odour when new, however this dissipated pretty soon after I started using it.

Love this mat which I’d bought it years ago!! It’s well cushioned and non slip, plus it’s kind to the environment. I know these mats are expensive, but looking there are offers available.

One year on, and I still am on my mat. Some of my yoga colleagues have tried out a couple of down dogs on my mat in the last year, and they suddenly all have this mat too … albeit in different colours. The mat is wide enough for comfort, and secretly I love that couple of extra cm’s of extra space in a tightly packed class. It is a nice thickness for comfort during shivasana, but not so thick that it affects your capacity for balance during standing / balancing sequences. No slipping on this mat, it’s so grippy that I actually burned my toe by dragging myself / rather than ‘gliding’ from one posture into another… (only happened once, I wasnt used to HOW grippy the mat is). I love this mat.
