Like most vinyls, it is sort of time consuming to install but it works SO great for the blackout purpose that it is worth the effort!

Purchased this for a beaded glass lamp that’s way too bright on my eyes when I sit beside it. I cut the proper size, applied this to the bottom 1/2 of the glass, and voila! It no longer blinds me!!! Plus, my floor lamp looks better!

Have extra little side windows on the lorry I wanted to black out, does the job but you see like a bubble effect from the outside

Excellent, inexpensive black aquarium background. Enough for two 29 gal tanks. A few bright spots show through the glass where it didn’t adhere perfectly, but that doesn’t bother me.

Great product that can be used again for years. I made Halloween window decorations with mine. One thing to note is that separating the backing from the film is almost impossible unless you use sellotape on the shiny side to help peel it off.

Our dogs go mental in our converted car which now is a dog mico van and therefore we got this
Total Blackout Window Film for the back of the car to keep them quiet as well as cooled down during summer days.

This film is easy to use and pop on the windows despite them being curved and rounded unlike normal house windows. One thing that was hard to do though, is to separate the layers of the film to get the protective bit to be able to reveal the adhesive part.

Perfect for creating dark rooms or privacy areas the film itself is of good quality and not too thin so you won’t rip it during installation.
Price is a little on a higher end of what I would like to pay but as the results are good I didn’t mind it as much.

This is definitely a total blackout window film.
The roller came packed with care ,no damage at all.
It is really easy to apply ,I love the non adhesive films as they can be reused.
I need it this type of film to use it on one of my bedroom windows as my husband works at night so we had to get the room as dark as possible so he can sleep during the day.
After I have cut the correct size and placed the film the room is total dark.
I like it that it can be removed so that I can clean the window easily and then replace it back .
For the price in sale ,the blackout film has a reasonable quality .

This is great, so far I’ll I’ve used it for is my shed window but I found it a little bit tricky to cut( although my scissors are trash) but really easy to put up. I just washed the window, sprayed with water and then used a book to smooth it down and it’s stayed up since. Our shed is absolutely full of stuff so it’s great for making it look tidier while hiding what’s inside too

    Does the job

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have used window film many times but up until now it has mainly been to give an obscured effect, frosted appearance as you might typically see on bathroom windows etc. I have a small room which is sometimes used to take photographs in and I have considered permanently blacking out the window, but at the moment I manage with a dense curtain.

This is the first blackout window film that I have seen, and am a little surprised that I was not aware of the existence of this type of product. I am a big fan of the ‘frosted’ window obscura-film, and so very much wanted to try this black film.

This is a very substantial roll of film (nearly 2ft wide by about 13ft) and based on other window film I have purchased I think that this blackout one is good value at around 35 – especially considering it’s a rather niche product.

The instructions are very clear, although having used this type of material before I was already familiar with the technique. A squeegee is an essential tool for the finishing off, although you can do a fair bit of smoothing over the glass & film with your hands initially. I use a scalpel for the cutting, to get really good straight cut, but scissors would also work (but would not be as easy to get that final clean straight cut). Initially the black film (after you have sprayed a water mist over the glass and the shiny surface of the film) will slide around quite easily so positioning can be finely adjusted. However, as you squeeze out the water with your squeegee and hands you will soon find that the sliding ability will suddenly become very difficult. If you are not happy with the position just pull/peel away the black film away from the glass and you can gently move it again. It sounds difficult but actually it’s amazingly easy. If you know that you have plenty of blackout film for your needs you can always try using a smaller piece of the film and testing it on a window or sheet of glass before you try to do a full-sized piece. That way you will get used to how the material behaves before you have to tackle the full project. If possible, when fixing to a large window it’s a help to have someone to assist as they can hold the film away from the glass whilst you get it positioned etc.

What I really like about this window blackout film is the textured backing on the non-window side. It’s just a lovely matte finish that I think looks very smart from the inside. In fact I covered a piece of 1/4 plate glass that I sometimes use for photography and it has given the glass a very nice appearance.

This window film is very high quality in my opinion, especially having the nice interior surface matte textured finish. Very fond of this product and how easy it is to use.

Very very impressed with this blackout film. It's good on so many levels.

Fantastic temporary blackout without huge cost. You cut it to size and it sticks to window. Mine is a quick job and looks awful but the blackout is great and reflects sun really well so helps with heat in summer season because I’m in a apex loft conversion and heat in room is awful at some point in years.

    Great blackout roll

I’ve installed this in a room where I use UV reactive chemicals for photography and for 3D printing. It was nice and easy to apply and has blocked all traces of light meaning I can work during the day and not worry about the chemicals being spoiled. I plan on doing some thorough tests by leaving a few drops next to the windows on a bright day to see if there is any strong reactions but hopefully all will be ok!
I’ve tried other blackout films and they’ve been quite thin and still allowed light through, but this one seems to be much better.

I have been impressed with this window film. Its easy to cut and applies very well to the window with minimal fuss and effort. When applies its was also very easy to push out any air bubbles by using a plastic shape with a flat edge. In terms of the balckout effect, this was also very impressive with performance better than the backout curtains previously used.

All in all a great product – would recommend

My TV room suffers from the problem of having two windows that get the sun for most of the day, and they’re those upstairs windows at an angle of about 45 degrees, so curtains aren’t an option.

It means that on a sunny day, if I try to watch TV, I’m mostly looking at myself reflected in the screen.

Believe it or not, for about 2 years now I’ve had multiple sheets of kitchen foil pressed over those windows and sellotaped at the edges. It does the job, but it looks awful. I thought this stuff might look a bit neater.

And it does. I didn’t think it would stick, but so far so good. If it suddenly falls off, I’ll come back and amend this review.

The only downside of this product is that it was fiddly as hell to apply. I admit part of this might have been due to my windows being at an awkward angle, but I think dealing with the problem of air bubbles would be an annoyance even on vertical windows.

SO, it does a good job, but is a real pain to put on. I’d suggest it’s probably best tackled as a two-person job. However, I can’t imagine anything that would make the process easier, so Yeah, 5-stars.

This film is thick enough that can truly blackout. the film is not very thick so it does ripple and traps air in the middle, some patience and skill is require to put this on neatly, similar to putting on phone screen protectors.

The best thing for me is this is removeable, in case I regretted blacking out a window I could easily peel it off without damaging the window. So it is a versatile product and does what it says on the tin.

    Blackout window film.

I was sent this in return for my honest opinion on it.

We wanted to test this in the kitchen, as the window is exposed to a carpark. This came neatly rolled up. It feels nice and thick, durable too. The black has a faint red direction lines, to help you cut straight.

The size in height is around 60cm long, and it’s roughly 13ft wide, so you’ve got a good amount. This was easy to put up, clean your window first. Cut the film to size, this was perfect in height for my window!

Spray/wet your window with water, I used a sponge. Peel off the film with the tab and place this in the window a bit at a time. I used a scraper to make it all flat as I went along.

This has stayed up well. It darkens the kitchen and keeps it cooler when it’s hot too. You cannot see in or out of it, from either side of the window.

I do think this is very good quality, it works well, no adhesive needed. It is a fantastic, quick to do, blackout film. I would recommend it. It’s just slightly more than I thought it would be.

    Quick and easy

Easy to apply. But I would recommend a strong black adhesive tape to attach to pvc windows. As you don’t want to cut into your rubber seal

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe got this for my one year old’s bedroom to make it as dark as possible now it’s getting light in summer. It’s brilliant at making it nice and dark in there so does what it says on the tin. However, as it’s black, it absorbs so much heat that it turns into a radiator when the sun shines on it. So whilst it makes the room dark, it also makes it 3-4 degrees warmer so not ideal. I would recommend it though, just be prepared to cool the room another way if the sun shines on it.

Great product for the price. Easy to install and looks amazing. Blocks out 99% of the light. Definitely recommend. Ps. Don’t mind the mess in the reflection remodeling the room on the other side so everything is in the dinning room

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAmazing product, I actually can’t believe how good these are! Honestly, Chinese products aren’t always known for the greatest quality but these are insanely good material and useful, I used a Stanley knife and ruler (didn’t receive a squeegy) but it was easy to cut out along my window size. I would definitely recommend spraying the window with a little soap water it is a must for it to stay in place. I have in the past thought about buying black out curtains but wondered how they might still seep light in, be more costly and heat the room up if they are thick and you have heating on. For 20 (I bought two rolls) this has done the trick. Genuinely one of the best products I’ve ever bought from amazon if not the best, really impressed with how easily it applies on and off, and how it can make day time feel like night. Definitely good for people who have trouble sleeping and will be recommending to others. Wow what a great buy!

    Best product on amazon!!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy only criticisms are that I wish the roll was wider and for some reason adhesive tape doesn’t want to grip the back.

Stuff works a treat. Just make sure your windows are CLEAN AND DRY before applying. Standard rule of measure twice and cut once will see you right.
