Camera gives notification when anything moves in its view. You can move the viewing area around easily from the phone app and can also speak though the camera and record everything. Great camera to have for security.
This has exceeded all my expectations! I’m actually really impressed. My car had been vandalised and my neighbours cctv was out of battery. This is one of the purchases I have ever made!

Really happy with this camera, very easy to set up and install, lots of useful functions, far better than a more expensive one (different brand) that is constantly having issues, and will soon be replaced by one of these.

Having disabled my 5GHz wireless it was simple register the camera on my hub. All worked well with the phone app. Having downloaded the APP for Windows and installing I did have an issue logging on to the APP. I messaged WANSVIEW support and they responded to my issue quickly and suggested a solution which worked!
Ne ho comprato due coppie per metterle ai quattro lati esterni della mia villetta indipendente con giardino. Dopo avere caricato la App sullo smartphone non c’ alcuna difficolt ad aggiungere le telecamere stando a non pi di un metro dal router che poi le dovr gestire. Quindi, in base alla destinazione logistica di ogni cam occorre inizializzarle presso il router che d il segnale pi potente nel luogo dove la cam verr infine fissata. Nella inizializzazione di ogni cam occorre avere su un foglietto Nome e Password del router. Finita l’operazione la cam pu essere spenta e fissata nel luogo prescelto: riconoscer a distanza il segnale wifi del detto router, purch l sufficientemente forte. La cam ha molte funzioni, che per vanno scoperte sull’app perch le istruzioni non ne parlano affatto, compreso il possibile uso di una memory card, che io non ho ancora inserito.
Aufgrund einer Empfehlung im Bekanntenkreis haben wir uns fr diese berwachungskameras entschieden. Wir nutze diese nun seit fast 2 Monaten. Das Installieren und Verbinden mit dem Internet war selbst fr mich als Frau unproblematisch. Die Anleitung dafr liegt dem Produkt bei. In der App muss man sich anfangs erstmal zurechtfinden, um alles nach Bedarf einstellen zu knnen. (Licht, Alarm, Bereich, Position etc.) Der Bild im Life-Streaming ist sehr klar und qualitativ sehr gut. Die Bilder der Aufnahmen sind zwar etwas verpixelter, aber ich finde das nicht schlimm. (Siehe Foto mit dem Vogel)
Die Kosten fr die Nutzung der Cloud sind absolut angemessen. Eine Produkterweiterung mit Solar und Netzteil oder Akku und Netzteil wrde ich sehr ansprechend finden. Ich wrde auf jeden Fall weitere Kameras kaufen. Was man nicht beeinflussen kann, ist die Spinnen-Aktivitt, vor allem nachts. (Siehe letztes Foto)

La fonction “lumire intelligente” permet de passer en mode couleurs ds qu’une alarme de dtection est repre. On passe donc d’une vision infrarouge une vision couleurs automatiquement, permettant de voir tous les dtails en cas d’intrusion.
La skill Wansview tant peut tre active avec l’application Alexa, et donne accs aux camras sur l’cran de la tlvision ou autre sans souci.
On peut aussi dterminer une zone de confidentialit qui permet d’occulter une partie de l’image (utile pour prserver la vue sur la voie publique, par exemple). Des carreaux de couleurs apparaissent alors l’cran pour cacher cette partie.
Le systme de montage est confortable et ingnieux. On fixe d’abord le socle, puis on vient clipser la camra dessus. De plus, les camras sont solides.

Die Kamera fr den Auenbereich hat mich insgesamt positiv berrascht. Die Bildqualitt ist wirklich genial, und die Montage war ein Kinderspiel. Kein lstiges Abo erforderlich, einfach eine Speicherkarte in die Kamera einlegen und die Aufnahmen ber die App online abrufen.
Allerdings gibt es ein kleines Manko: Das Mikrofon knnte besser sein. Bei windigem Wetter wird der Ton unverstndlich, sowohl bei der Wiedergabe als auch beim Sprechen ber die Kamera. Das ist schade, da die Kommunikation ber die Kamera nicht so reibungslos verluft, wie ich es mir gewnscht htte.
Ein weiterer wichtiger Punkt ist, dass das mitgelieferte Netzteil nicht spritzwassergeschtzt ist. Bei der Montage im Freien ist daher Vorsicht geboten, und es wird ein zustzlicher Schutz (z.B. Steckerschutz) bentigt, um die Kamera vor den Elementen zu schtzen.
Trotz dieser kleinen Einschrnkungen bietet die GALAYOU Outdoor WLAN IP Kamera ein tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhltnis. Die Aufnahmen bei Nacht mit Infrarot sind ebenfalls beeindruckend. Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden mit meinem Kauf und fhle mich sicherer dank dieser berwachungskamera.
Videocamera come da descrizione. Buon prodotto. Buone le immagini. Buona ricezione Wi-Fi( videocamere posizionate all’estero a circa 15 m dal modem). Segnale stabile. Rotazione ok. Sensore di movimento super sensibile (forse troppo). Con qualche aggiustamento e un riconoscimento delle figure umane sarebbe TOP. Ne deriva un continuo avvio di allarmi. Per il mio uso personale, di sola visione al bisogno avendo gi un sistema di allarme, ho disattivato il sensore di movimento mantenendo la registrazione h24 7gg su 7. Assistenza ottima, problema con la connessione alla prima installazione, SUBITO RISOLTO. Se non riscontrero’ problemi, fra qualche mese rivalutero’ e acquister ancora una.
Prima di comprarle assicurarsi che il vostro Wi-Fi regga la portata delle telecamere.
Ottima la registrazione H24 (solo su scada micro sd) meno gli allarmi di movimento in quanto usandole all’esterno per un’area di circa 400mq e avendo animali non mi conviene tenerla attiva in quanto non sono precisi.
Servirebbe aggiungere un piano per la memorizzazione cloud anche delle registrazioni H24 oltre delle rilevazioni di movimento (ora come ora con piano cloud da 14.99/mese vengono salvati solo i movimenti x un massimo di 7 telecamere) in quanto con il piano citato prima si pu condividere le registrazioni con un meassimo di 9 persone, senza quest’ultimo le persone a cui si condivide il device possono solo guardare le telecamere live.
Nel complesso do 4 stelle perch per quanto costano sono ottime, dar 5 stelle quando saranno risolte le criticit descritte sopra.
Can I say from the offset that the camera is of exceptional quality both in build and performance for the price.
Firstly, it is still being advertised with a removable USB lead, the latest model that you’ll receive, does not.
I suspect that this is due to problems with water ingress with the actual connection to the camera. They have now upgraded with an integrated hard wired hook up.
This means that you are going to have to drill a normal USB sized hole through your wall if you intend to plug it in indoors. Not good.
Secondly, I have a waterproof outside wall socket which would be fine and dandy if the supplied plug wasn’t the size of an elephant. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a waterproof outlet if you can’t close it.
I had to buy a’normal’ sized USB plug to replace it.
You would think that as this is an outside camera they would have taken into consideration the size of wall sockets & provided a suitable sized plug.
1. has a hard wired connection and the other has a usb connection. A friend of mine also received a usb version.
2. One of the cameras refers to high quality as 2k the other FHD.
I have 128gb cards in both and they record without a problem but today one had a corrupt card which was fixed with a restart and a format and is now working OK.
You can setup continuous recording or just event recording.
I don’t use the alarm feature or the light feature becuse anything can set them off. Even birds flying past or change in the sun. This is the same for alerts on my phone. This is ok for me as I didn’t want or need the functions anyway.
Your signal strength needs to be reasonable to avoid delays in control from when you press direction to when you see it happen. Having your router close or central to your house seems to be ok for me.
Easy to setup and a good clear image in the day and at night. They do have Infared night vision but I even disable this becuse I have enough light at night to use colour night vision.
Ovif is avalable if you need it for local access.
Pc app seems to be very delayed for me but phone application is fine.
Google/alexa integration can be hit and miss but I find it works if I ask for camera to be displayed a few times. It rarely works the first time. I think this is down to a delay of nearly 10 seconds. But not sure.
Really can’t complain at anything for the money. The picture quality is good, the motion sensor works well. Sound quality is reasonable.
It has a subscription if you want it to work with alerts and 24 hour record, but practically every stand alone camera does on the market.
Used to have a blink camera that was twice the price and no where near as good. Only thing I would have liked to have done is make the motion recording longer.
Was impressed with how easy it was to set up this camera, we needed a new one as our old one (different make) wouldn’t connect anymore, this one was easy to set up, has better quality even on night vision. Very good camera all round

Fab camera but doesn’t connect to my eero. So I’ve had to replace it.
Easy set up and app downloaded , was up and running in 10 mins .
The app gives you notifications on your phone when motion is detected in your picture. All in all a good easy camera to use.
The most what i like about it i can turn all around to what ever angle i need and change position when i need it. The biggest problem with it was to drill a hole so usb wire can get thru the wall because there is no other option how to keep it plugged in. The cloud is expensive as well to pay. But with the camera im really satisfied. On cheapest plan i can use up to 3 cameras, thats how many i have in total.
I purchased 2 cameras to monitor the rear of my house. The coverage of view is fantastic. The camera is very user friendly. I found it very easy to set up. The picture quality is very clear. Will certainly recommend to family and friends. I will be purchasing 2 more myself. The customer service recieved from Levy was very good. He responded to all my queries with good instructions. However, the issue was my fault as I’d forgotten to switch on the power for one of the cameras . An altogether very good experience.
Camera seems very well made so far software is very easy to use although it does shout at you when setting it up so be aware about that for the price you pay you honestly can grumble a longer lead would be beneficial but again for the price you pay purchasing a longer lead still isn’t something to grumble at haven’t had chance to pull any videos off yet but you do get a choice between sd or 2k video obviously dependent on internet speed etc
This purchase was to be used as an outsite PTZ camera for the same house, but ended up on the wall of my dads workshop here in the UK. Picture quality is excellent (day and night – especially in that “twighlight” zone that fools many cameras). Again, I have set up some “views” for my dad so that he can quickly look at different places without having to use the app (difficult as he has arthuritis, so a single click of a “view” is perfect).
Setup was a breeze (as was the interior one).
I need to buy another one now, but it is certainly worth it. Can’t recommend it enough.

Excellent image from my iPhone and a real piece of mind when we are not at home. The app works seamlessly with various options to customise the camera to your liking. Highly recommend this device. Great value for money. Absolutely delighted.
Got this to use to keep an eye on wildlife in the garden. The idea being, one remembered position would be used in the daytime to view bird-feeder, the second would keep an eye on nocturnal creatures snaffling apples from around the apple tree. The issue I have is that the remembered position function doesn’t work, I click on the position and get a message saying “success” but the camera remains where it is. I’ve tried it on 2 cameras, and it’s the same issue so presume the App is at fault.
Another issue I had was that I was getting too many motion alerts, so I disabled them in the app, but I was still getting them! Had to stop notifications at App level on my phone to stop constant beeping.
Picture wise it’s very good though, and the speaker is nice and loud if you wanted to use it as an intercom or similar. I can live with the manual moving of the camera, but the saved positions would have been a lot nicer.

This is an excellent camera at this price point. Easy to install and activate using the app. Image quality day and night is superb and 360 degree range of vision controlled from your phone is excellent. Also speech and alarm feature. Would recommend.
This has good quality picture and I use with memory card. Have had a couple of issues with viewing recordings but customer service have been very good with prompt reply and helping resolve any issues.

I was interested in buying one of these PTZ cameras (Pan, Tilt and Zoom) for my budding home automation project so when I saw it worked with Alexa and it had a discount deal at the time, I decided, with the aid of the many complimentary reviews, to get one. It came the next day as expected and I was keen to get it installed and into action and from what I had read it would be very easy to do and so it proved to be, I just had to switch off the 5ghz side of my router while installing the camera and from then on it all went smoothly and the camera has been working perfectly ever since. For transparency I had a hell of a job getting the camera to connect and work and naturally assumed it was me that was at fault but eventually I asked Galayou for tech support and I was amazed at the amount of care taken to make sure I was happy with my purchase. It turned out that Galayou’s servers had become overloaded at the exact time I was trying to log in but I was kept informed as the work was done to increase the server capacity and once done I had no trouble logging in and joining the system. Had it not been for the unforeseen problems with the servers it would have been fine from the start but it does just go to show how keen the staff at Galayou are to make sure customers are happy with their purchases and I will have no hesitation in buying Galayou products in the future.
Camera is compact, picture quality is very good, is responsive and connects very fast. Even with 4G when out of home, response is very good. Works with Google Nest home. Good continuous recording. Yet to see how intelligent light works. Support team is also very good. Replied within 24 hrs to tell me how Google home setup works. You just have to find Wansview app in ‘ works with Google” list.
My only wish is that if it had long cable. 2m is not enough. Should be atleast 4-5m. Good thing is its detachable so I can buy one myself. Already ordered a 3m flat microusb cable.
I initially purchased one camera and after using it for a little while I bought a second camera. Ideally needs to be fitted where it and the power supply can’t be reached. The camera is easily fitted by clipping it onto a bracket that you first attach to your chosen location. It clips on so it can easily be clipped off and stolen if not located out of the reach of people. Easy to set up and customer support is great if you have any problems. The camera is good value for the price and performs well in the environment I’ve put it to work. So far it doesn’t seem to have been affected by the freezing temperatures or heavy wind and rain and it shouldn’t as it is rated IP65. Hoping that the manufacturer will introduce a tracking option which this camera sadly doesn’t feature at the moment.
I bought one of these as a try out an ended up buying another 6!!

Wi-Fi reception to me was one of the most important things, if your going to locate them around the outside of the house you want them to be able to pick up internet with out having to buy Wi-Fi extenders!
My internet router is located downstairs at the front of the house with the garden camera being located at the rear attached to the soffit board, and it has no problems picking up internet!
The only thing that has let it them down a little was a recent issue with the servers the cameras use being updated. All cameras went offline and had to be turned off the back on again.
For the price paid though and the quality of the product I personally think that was a minor issue.

I bought 2 of these after my old CCTV stopped working and thought I would give them a try and I am so glad I did. I have a little issue at first connecting but the customer service especially Judy is fantastic and got back to me straight away and resolved the issue and gave me a 20% refund for the inconvenience. They are a fantastic little product and excellent quality and the night vision is great too. The light is an added bonus and the alarm is great too if you need it. I will be buying more of these instead of paying over 1000 for a Cctv system !!! Thank you
I chose this camera carefully, I also used the product’s feedback from others. It is surprising that a device with such a good price can provide quality service. Delivery was fast. Installation is simple. I bought a memory card and Cloud storage service for it. Daytime and nighttime picture perfect. I don’t use night vision at night and it still shows an enjoyable picture. The motion tracking is slightly delayed, so we don’t see the events in their original time. The 355-degree viewing angle around and 90 degrees vertically is very practical. There are plenty of options to tailor the operation to your own needs. This makes it suitable to use and secure the place where it works. I had a small technical problem, which the helpful and efficient customer service team sorted out with hard work within a short time. So this is a product that you won’t be left with if you have problems with operation. In my experience, this sec. camera was a good buy for me. I hope I also help others to make a good decision with this feedback.
I installed the camera at the weekend and found it very simple to set up and install. I configured it in the house before mounting it outside. I mounted it underneath the overhang of the house and ran the cable to an external power box I have. It took less than an hour so I was very impressed. If I had one criticism it would be that the cable should be easily removable in case it was not long enough giving the option of using a longer one. I was lucky to have an external box but it would not be long enough to be routed into a house.
The installation of the app was very easy and I really like the sharing option. My wife and I both use the camera so having multiple access is great.
It works with Alexa OK, but the picture is delayed – I assume due in some part to the processing speed of the Alexa Show 8 I have. It makes it unusable on this device, as it takes a few seconds to show the camera image and then the image is a good 10 seconds behind. I have mounted a used android phone in the kitchen and installed the camera app on that. We now have a constant picture from the camera which is live. The phone does get a bit hot, but not excessively. This is a great solution for us.
Overall, I am very pleased with it and the price makes it excellent value.
These cameras are just amazing put a sd card in and it records I can watch it on my phone anywhere also you can move the camera, talk and sound alarm extremely good value for money
I bought this camera to go on out building at the side of my house it was dead easy to set up and works brilliant 4 favourite position’s at the touch of a button excellent picture quality at night and in day tells my phone straight away of any movement could not be happie

The sellers are selling this short. Yes, it does operate from the mains but it is USB so it can run off a power bank.
I have also tried it with 4 rechargeable AA batteries. It works, including movement but I do not yet know how long batteries will last. There are also apps (at least on Android) which record whatever is on your phone screen, so you could use an old (or cheap) phone with an SD card to record 24/7 without fear that the recording can be stolen from the camera.
Also, I found that the template for the screw holes got easily mangled. Use a pen or pencil to push through a piece of paper of card where the holes go and use that as a template.

An excellent camera and although FHD not 2K it offers a brilliant picture without using up so much storage.
Update: a nominal 10,000 mAh power bank should be good for overnight, 20,000 mAh for 24 hours.
Great camera I especially like the 360 view so I can see all over it also has excellent night vision and the light turns on when movement is detected.The app is very accessible and easy I would recommend this.
What a great cctv camera, my other camera would not work with my new tab, so looked for a similar one, but found this nice looking camera, was easy to set the camera up to the Internet, then when fixed to the wall, again so easy, the camera works great, loved playing around with it, it covers 190 degrees up and down, so much more than my other one. Recommend for the price.
On receiving the camera I set it up in the house and let it run for a week to see how it performed. After this I set it up outside the house overlooking the pond. It has brilliant picture quality in the day and at night, it is responsive over WiFi and I love the colour night vision. It has been very easy to set up and use and overall is a great little camera for the money, would highly recommend.
The only thing I would change is the power cable to the camera can be easily removed from the bottom of the camera. I solved this by running the power cable inside a conduit right up to the base of the camera to stop the power cable from being removed.
The dealer was very responsive as well and dispatched the camera quickly. The camera has alot of features more expensive cameras do not have.

Incredible value for money the cameras record with perfect clarity and sound as well already caught a person trying to enter our property and footage given to police leading to a charge would not have had this success without my new cameras so a big thank you for this purchase Wansview I would recommend these cameras to all easy fitting easy set up all done within an hour or less including fittings to outside walls
After my old CCTV camera ceased to work; I searched around a while before purchasing this camera. After purchase I was envious of the quality of the product considering it’s cheap price.
However, on arrival the packaging was superb and clean. The camera itself seems very good build quality. On installation the camera instantly fired up and connected after completing the steps listed. The quality is great, the tilt works great and so does the motion detection; yet to set up cloud storage.
Overall a great purchase for the price and highly recommended.
I dont normally post reviews, but this camera has a really good quality picture, and I was surprised to see a review saying that it didnt connect to home assistant.
It does, but I needed to change the RTSP port to 554 from 1554, and also change the user name and password from the defaults set by the program. I used ‘generic camera’ integration in HA, and disabled ‘SSL verify’ and didnt select a transport protocol for my setup in HA.
For the price, I thought it was a really good buy for a RTSP device…

It would be nice to have would be an option with a longer cable. But the one that came with camera is ok.
I used this product for home security. Easy to setup didn’t need to be 3 feet away from WiFi box.
The reason I put 4 star’s is because when I setup the camera the picture was nice and crisp then after about 10 minutes later picture was a little bit fuzzy. Does what it says on the box you can even keep the best position so you can push 1 or 2 buttons and the camera returns to set position.
To view on the PC like I have shown in this image you need an Android emulate, I use the free BluStacks Player, which is excellent, you need to switch on virtualization in your PC BIOS to get full speed.
The camera sensitivity is a bit too high and motion detection will constantly switch the light on and off when there is something like a breach wobbling in the wind.
Any concerns above are minor when considering the price which is extraordinarily low for the quality you get.
I’ve had these cameras about a month and they have withstood some pretty atrocious weather. I will update this review should they fail in the future.
This is a very good quality camera the night vision with flood light is the best I’ve seen on any camera the picture quality is second to none and now I’ve even bought an extra two cameras and the cloud storage is quality for the price

These cameras are fantastic and a great price, does the exact same job as the more expensive cameras and the exact features. motion detection, night vision, sound and voice communication, record function and a night light also fully customisable. You can set up a perimeter for it to record and many more, this review doesn’t do them justice. 100% recommend. I even some bought some more for family members.
For the price it’s a nice little camera, was very surprised how good the picture is, like how the night vision can switch from black & white to colour by turning the light on through the app. The app great too, can keep an eye on property from work. Only issue was the power cable. Just not long enough, had to wire an outside plug socket close to where I wanted the camera. Definitely recommend buying this camera.
Very quick delivery, easy to setup and install and works really well since. Easy to connect to and provides a good image of the area used, with easy to use 360 controls to rotate and move around the view. Very happy with the camera.
Love this camera as it has all you need. Easy to install, nice clear picture during the day and pretty good at night, easy to use and works great with the app too. This camera also looks the part so hopefully will act as a security measure from its looks alone. A great buy and excellent value for money.
Pleased with purchase, it gave us the ability to check our garden and move across from one aspect to another.
The select position option allows easy and direct transition from one area to another.
Picture quality is good, even in the dark, yet diminishes as the level of zoom increases.
In all, this is a great camera for the money, it is easy to set up, and the app offers a variety of settings and functions.
Purchased two these for my property at a fraction of the price of having them installed by a company so easy to install and set up . The picture quality is brilliant day and night with the option of slightest motion detection which can be changed if needed . Can also rotate cameras just by using the app on your phone an also they have alarm siren if needed an two way speaker. These are that good I purchased more for my family members
Camera works ok for now there is a bit of a lag and quality is perfect. I would rate it much higher if they gave me one that wasn’t used and that was new. Edit: been offered a partial refund which is fair given its used condition. Good customer service
Good quality easy to set up camera with fantastic WiFi range and image quality.its basic features are great like the motion light and siren, picture quality is also very good. It does however require a subscription for its best features like intelligent tracking and the ability to change motion area. Great seller, will help with any queries. Is it Worth buying at the price with the features it has…I’d say yes
I have had this camera for a few weeks now. Setup was easy and quick. It is powered by usb cable. About 2.5m cable is provided but you really need a longer cable unless you have a power socket close by. I had to buy a long USB extension cable and drill hole through the wall to connect it to usb plug inside. The App has room for improvement though. It has quite a sensitive motion and sound detection but is missing Auto-tracking. The seller contacted me for a review so here we are. Since I bought it the price has increased so won’t purchase another one just yet.
It is not as good as a professionally installed CCTV system but, at a fraction of the price, it is a good substitute. From the security point of view, it will obviously stop working in a power cut or wi-fi failure.
After installing the app I simply followed the instructions given (some on the app and some spoken on the camera). It couldn’t be easier. I then connected it to Alexa so I can view the camera from my Echo devices. All very easy.
It can be tilted and panned to from the app to get a view of exactly the area that you want to monitor. The motion detection works well but there are several false alarms by insects passing the camera (close up the camera must see a moth as the size of a distant human). There are less false alarms with the detection set to a smaller area.
At first I thought the memory card was not working, but it must have to record a bit before shows up in the app. I have it continuously recording and it fits around 2 weeks on a 128GB card. The camera resolution gives a great picture, even on a big screen, and the night vision is also clear.
I did have a problem with the camera after a few months but Judy in customer services sorted it quickly.
Been looking at various camera’s for a while to cover the front of my property. Didn’t want to pay a fortune, and came across this. Being a ptz for the price made me question how good it would be but I cannot fault it. The daytime picture is clear, and the audio is good. The build seems solid, and plugging straight into a socket was so much more convenient. Night-time the picture isnt as good but i can’t take advantage of the built in lights as I have a streetlight outside my house, thought they are very bright. The siren works well and the 2 way audio is quality. I had some connections issues but got great help from Judy at wansview technical support, and had it working in no time. I’ve recommended this to a few people who want a decent camera without paying a fortune.
I have a few cameras from this brand and they’ve definitely improved with the features with this one.
It looks sturdy, great visual deterrent, easy to set up and does exactly what I need it to do.
I have mine set up at the front of the house, it alerts me when it detects motion saving a few days worth of this on the app/cloud. It also has memory card storage for longer access, 32GB is about a week’s worth at full quality. The light comes on at night (can turn off if you wish) good night vision also, you can hear through it’s mic and speak back through the app also. You can tilt it via the app if needed.
The set up was so easy, just make sure you have location enabled and on the 2.5ghz wifi for the first set up.
The customer service from Wansview is second to none. I had an issue with my first camera, the firmware didn’t update and it froze and they resolved it really quickly.
So far this is a very good value remote control camera. I’m still learning more about the camera settings but it seems to work well at this stage. The build quality is good and visual detail too. I found the microphone does pick up wind noise, so bear this mind when mounting in a position that may suffer from this continuously. I’ve yet to experience this feedback in poor weather condition, so time will tell. However make sure you find the best wifi signal you can when looking to install. That said it would have been handy to of had an option to wire in a LAN cable for those that can.
This camera is branded GALAYOU but comes from Wansview and uses the Wansview software, which is useful as I have other Wansview cameras.
Wansview’s software has improved over the years although there is still no separate web interface so making fine adjustments to the camera, such as Image adjustments, is not possible.
Setup was easy via the app, and I was also able to easily add the H4 to my existing Blue Iris PC-based monitoring system, as it is ONVIF and RTSP compatible. Blue Iris provides its own monitoring and recording in addition to the in-camera capabilities. You don’t need to use the Wansview paid for cloud service if you insert an SD card. You can access and view recordings on the SD card via the phone app and download them to the phone if needed.
Image quality is good, on a par with the other 1080p CCTV cameras that I have.
Build quality seems very good, and the camera looks elegant and modern. Unfortunately the power connector on the Y4 camera is Micro-USB which, as everyone knows, is a fragile and unreliable connector. At least it means that you can use any micro-USB cable and power adapter though, and you can also power the camera with a power bank battery. There is also a bracket provided to mount the camera to a wall or ceiling.
In summary, the H4 is a decent PTZ camera especially considering the competitive price.
In the box you get the camera with slide-in mount, micro-USB cable and mains USB supply, plus fittings, warning labels and instructions. You just need install the Wansview app, power up a camera and follow the simple instructions to pair it to your Wi-Fi.
Once paired you can power down and reposition the camera. It’s got good reception and works as good if not better than my phone in receiving a signal (although video quality is a bit jerky with poor connectivity).
The app lets you rename cameras, move them around, set favourite positions (so at a touch of a button you can move the camera from one view to another), set areas to trigger motion alerts or alarms, turn the spotlight on and off, have two-way conversations, etc.
The devices take micro-SD memory cards and will continuously overwrite when they are full. They take 10s clips without cloud subscription, generally 5s before the trigger and 5s after, which is good enough for most people. Just as well, as the subscription gets costly the more cameras you add.
Image quality is really very good. Night vision is very clear and I suggest you try not using the spotlight function as it gives colour images but isn’t as far reaching as the infra-red LEDs, and the switch-over causes a second of video to be washed out.
You can have four cameras of your choice showing at one time and set up lots of groups. You can change trigger areas, set schedules to set alerts to your phone, etc. Very impressive.
I have had a couple of instances where moths set of the alerts, but you can lower the sensitivity. You don’t need all cameras to alert, they are set individually.
Overall a really competent camera. Had one issue with one of my 10 and had a replacement within days without having to return the failed one. Excellent customer service too!
I purchased this due to the special offer & I’m very pleased as every feature is a big upgrade on the previous model. Being able to obtain colour images at night & the pan & tilt feature makes it very easy to position. Hooking the camera up to my existing Wansview app was child’s play and the hard wiring power connection takes away all the baggage that came with the previous version.
Just one minor issue that also affected the camera before is the software glitch in full screen mode, on an iPad the image is upside down, this is a known glitch that they’re working on and is due to the IOS version. In shared and minimised mode the image is correctly displayed. As I say it’s a minor niggle and doesn’t detract from the use ability to any great extent.
Highly recommended and a steal at this price point.
Good camera.
I managed to mount it on a circular box using two screws.
Not the best fit for the circular box (available elsewhere) might be worth considering how it attaches to the house as am not a fan of drilling holes into my house. That said the picture quality is good. If the pic quality is not good then simply check the cables for connection quality as mine just needed reseating.
This camera can be remotely controlled and has a security light on it too to track movement (motion detection)
If it had a better usb connection it would have been 5 stars. A better usb connectin would be one that is internal to the wall like their W5 camera. However this camera is better than the w5 due to its remote control swivel, wifi connection plus light.
So before buying this make sure you have a “junction box” strategy to deal with holes in the wall. They arent expensive.
I like the fact it supports the Wansview Cloud app out of the box, setup takes minutes to complete and is very easy.
The app allows you to setup various motion detection schedules, live view the camera, get motion notification and will automatically record a 10 second clip of any motion detected.
The camera its self is very good, it uses a silicone gasket to assist on sealing in the micro USB connector (the centre of the silicone flap has a centre section that pops out to reveal a small tight fitting opening for the cable connector to fit into).
The movement function works very well, it is a tad sensitive but after a few minutes you will get used to this.
The image is crisp and responsive, it doesn’t have any blur and the colour balance is good.
The light function works very well, it had 4 high power LED lights in the from of the camera, these provide sufficient light for an area roughly 10m square, the light can also be setup to automatically turn on when motion is detected.
The alarm function can be useful, the camera can automatically sound an alarm when motion is detected, or it can be manually turned on in the app, it isn’t the loudest of alarms, but would act as a deterrent if the camera was located well above easy access. The downside to this is it will draw attention to the cameras location so could make it a target.
This brings me onto the mounting mechanism, the camera slides onto a wall mountable plate and clips into position, although this makes installation fast and easy, it also means the camera could be easily knocked off with a long stick, again if it was well out of reach the chances of it being knocked off are slim as its lightly the persons in question wouldn’t be aware it can easily be knocked off.
overall I’m impressed, it isn’t perfect but for the price I cant really argue the quality and functionality, would I buy a 2nd? yes, is the Wansview app good? yes, I have 4 cameras setup on it and its worked great for 4 years now. if you looking for a cheap but very well thought out and reliable camera, this will certainly meet all the criteria you require.
