Easy to assemble and use, feels very sturdy. There is a fair whine of it when you get a speed up, but sure isn’t that what ear plugs are fo

Tbis is awesome for the price. I would advise though getting the correct type of tyre for turbo-trainers though as this will eat the standard tyre.

Good bit of kit, had to take a couple off mm off my bikes through axle adaptor for it to fit but all good once it was done. The one slight downer is the noise, the more resistance or the quicker you go it does get a bit noisy even with a slick training tyre on my road bike. All in all am pretty happy.

The turbo trainer arrived within 2 days. Followed the instructions and all went well. I did have to change the rear axel (supplied) to get my bike to sit in the frame. Once assembled and the bike clamped into position off you go. So far i have only used the turbo trainer or a couple of days but it seems fine.

Very sturdy and easy to assemble. Comes with an appropriate QR skewer for the wheel. Even though your bike may already have one it may not fit, hence why they supply one.
Bought for my wide MTB and it fits perfect. It is however very noisy and bumpy when running with MTB off road tyres. I bought a slick tyre and swapped it out and it’s a million times quieter and smoother. Resistance is pretty good and it has a handlebar adjuster. You can also use the bikes gears to increase resistance. I would say its not designed for speed, more of a average pace. Very good for the price but if your looking for a pro trainer your best looking for something more high end.

Great product to turn your disused bike in to an exercise bike.
Easy and fast enough to set up and put away. Plenty of resistance, especially if your bike also has gears.
Only 4 stars because the megnetic resistance mechanisms is quite loud, making a high pitch noise depending on the settings.
***This home trainer is extremely loud when used with a standard road tyre. I would highly recommend getting a turbo trainer tyre which is smooth and therefore limits the vibrations and the noise, as well as floor padding/matt.

    As described

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersJust retired and unfit! Had an old Saracen Hardtrax bike stuck in my shed 20 years plus. Got it serviced and then fitted. Talk about a new lease of life for me and the bike. Still with the original Tyers there is a bit of noise but not a real problem. What a great safe idea inside or out whatever your age. Time to get fit again!!!!

Easy to order with prompt delivery. The product appears to be well made although it is quite noisy, but I think that is more down to the tyres of the bike.
    Generally quite happy.

Incredible delivery speed. Ordered on Monday and delivered to rural France on Thursday. Extremely well packaged and ready to go within minutes.

Changing the quick release spindle on my bike for the one supplied took seconds and fitting the bike to the stand was amazingly simple. If you can brush your teeth, then you can set this thing up. It really is that simple.

The trainer not only looks beautiful in the red and black but it’s a more substantial piece of kit than I was expecting. I was worried that the front wheel pad wouldn’t hold the front of the bike in place but this was unfounded. It feels really solid, even when going at full tilt.

I did find that the noise from the rear tyre was quite loud and my Kenda tyre gave off a burning smell so I changed it for a specific indoor trainer tyre and although this removed the burning smell, I can’t say that it reduced the noise at all.

It’s not an excessive noise, more like an angry hornet behind you but if you were riding for more than 30 minutes, you might get fatigued by it or else resort to headphones. I read other reviews that describe the trainer as near silent when fitted with a proper tyre so I thought that perhaps I had set it up incorrectly but I’ve played around with the pressure against the tyre and it’s made little difference so i guess it’s just something to get used to, like most gym equipment, it will make some noise but as I said earlier, it’s not excessive and doesn’t affect your workout.

Overall, this is a well built and easy to use piece of kit and a welcome addition to my home gym. For the money, it’s an absolute bargain. Highly recommended.

All in all the product is well built and sturdy. It does the job its supposed to do and the adjustment dial is a great feature. However after some one or two uses I had to return it because it’s just too noisy, I set it up in my garage and genuinely, my neighbours thought I was revving up a motorcycle when using it. I tried to dampen this by using rubber matting but it had no effect. If noise isn’t an issue for you then it’s great but sadly it was too noisy for me.

Velo Pro Turbo Trainer — A bit noisy but helps you keep the rhythm.
As you don’t feel the resistance immediately it gets more effective if you don’t change gears as you do on the road.

Not as refined ad the top brands of turbo trainers and quite noisy in use,and the faster you go the louder it gets,sturdy-ish and cheap to buy as long as you have “forgiving ” neighbours

Very good device very sturdy, only downside are the awful manual instructions. If you aren’t a bike nut the instructions will make no sense.

  15. Anonymous says:

The frame is mostly assembled. Although swapping the rear skewer is simple, it can affect your alignment of the bike’s rim brakes (if fitted). Also, the mounting for the resistance dial is a little too small for a tubular frame (space metric screw provided, but that was a little short). Instructions could do with a bit more detail, including the setting of the resistance brake – it only needs to to contact with the rear wheel.

Once setup, found some cycling routes on youtube – totally immersive. I would also recommend a thin exercise mat underneath, as the bike does chuck off a few carbon deposits from the bike chain.

    Absolutely fantastic purchase

Easy to set up, and very sturdy. You will need to buy a trainer tyre as it wrecked my tyre in an hour. I bought a trainer tyre 15 and I have done many hours now and no wear on tyre. It’s pretty quiet. Well pleased. Saves getting soaked. I also bought spare wheel which I put the trainer tyre on. So when it’s a dry day 2 minutes to swap wheels and out on the road.

A really sturdy frame. You feel completely safe when cycling. Set-up was straightforward in the first instance, but on first tries the resistance was too low and led to quite a few minor adjustments with the roller and frame screws. Nevertheless, once sorted it’s a great workout.

Don’t worry if you don’t have quick release, clamps can hold wheel nuts. Fit probably not as snug as quick release but I’ve been using this for 2 weeks, 100kg guy and the bike does not budge.

Easy to set up including the spindle change. A good level of resistance is available, this can also be enhanced by using the gears. It’s a bit noisy but I use it outside. Maybe a trainer tyre would make a difference.

The pictures don’t do it justice neither does the write up , I bought this to try and use my bike because I only have one leg and wasn’t sure it would work but it does and it’s great especially for disabled people like myself I can’t recommend it high enough to say I’m over the moon is an understateme

On this bad boy just now, this is my second turbo trainer. My other one I gave away when moving (wish I had kept it) but this one’s better than the last for sure. Fairly basic but very functional. Gets a good sweat up in the garage on colder/wetter days whilst I listen to the Bible. Winner!

It’s a good product. My bike went straight in, no need to replace the quick release (which they did provide).

Honestly the tension adjustment is probably not required. I just set it to 5 and use the gears on my bike.

As you can see I have hybrid type tyres. This produces no more noise than cycling on the road. If you had mountain bike tyres I suspect this would be a different matter though.

Used for up to an hour at a time so far and no issues whatsoever.

Lastly, folds away so neatly. Really pleased with the purchase.

    Good product, easy to use.

100% delighted with this Turbo Trainer. Have two bikes, one makes the Turbo Trainer sound noisy and the other almost silent. If the Turbo Trainer makes noise, it’s almost certainly the tyre tread that’s making the noise rather than the Turbo Trainer itself so any reviews complaining that the Turbo Trainer being noisy, it is not in my opinion the fault of the Turbo Trainer but rather the tread of the tyre in use. Work with this Turbo Trainer every day for several weeks and it’s made life so much easier, and particularly avoiding the cold and wet. Perfect winter / cold weather bike accessory. Very reasonably priced and assembled in approx 10mins. Comes with easy instructions and all the tools you need. Well thought out. Recommended.

we were worried about sturdiness (100kg+ biker) and noise levels; turns out to be ok on both accounts; it’s a robust frame with thick tubes, have had no bending problkems or similar; it’s a bit fiddly to get the resistance roller exactly right (too loose and it’s slip, too tight and it’ll melt your tyre), but if you can have one person cycle and the other adjust the distance then it’s a 2-3 minute thing and done; you hear it wirr softly but the noise is relatively low and not a nuisance (with headphones you’re not going to hear anything); it seems to fold quite flat if required but we usually have the bike on it all the time
btw, it comes with a replacement axle for the rear whell and strongly suggest to use it; our original axle wouldn’t hold well whereas theirs fits exactly the holding mechanism from the stand and was perfect even under full weigh

Wasn’t sure if it came with a quick release spindle as some of the reviews for this are a few years old but it does. Fantastic bit of kit. Price has been jacked up a bit due to covid as this retails elsewhere (when in stock) for about 80.
Great bit of kit. I was using in my front room and I would advise anyone else that you should put a bit of flat wood under the whole unit or your might get tyre marks on your carpet. The clearance for the back wheel may be fine when looking at it but if the floor isn’t solid then when you sit on it the trainer sinks into the carpet a fraction causing the wheel to graze the carpet. However I am a lump so may not be product specific lol.
Really good item and considering I am a lump at 20stone. It works amazingly well.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this for use with my mountain bike as it says its compatible with road and mountain bikes.
The QR skewer was useless for me as my rear wheel is not QR. After a few days of use I noticed that one of the nuts on my wheel was getting damaged, this was due to the tapered clamp on one side of the trainer. I contacted the seller who was very helpful and sent out a non-tapered clamp. Once it arrived and was fitted my bike was much more securely held and saved my nuts from being damaged further.

Some people have complained about the noise this produces, I found it was producing a loud noise when being used with my mountain bike tyre, I replaced the tyre with a velo tyre and the noise was greatly reduced. It is now quit enough that I can use it in my flat while my family are asleep without waking anyone up.

Resistance is good, you just need to play with the adjuster at the back to force more/harder contact with your tyre

For the price I can’t complai

Solid. The resistance is probably not as smooth as more expensive machines but the feel improves as you get up to a decent cadence. If your goal is just to get a good workout it does the job very well.

Bought this for the wife for her to get her fitness up and confidence on a bike ready for a jaunt out. Must say it’s very good. Had it up and running in about 15 minutes. Had to change the quick release on her wheel for the one provided which was easy enough. Follow the instructions after that and you can’t go wrong. Nice and sturdy, the resistance changer range is ample and it’s not excessively loud. I’m pleased and the wife is happy. Like I said, well worth the money.

I’m using this for knee rehab, it was easy to set up and the bike feels sturdy. It works with my quick release back wheel on my bike.
The speed adjuster doesn’t fit on my handle bars but I’ve found that just changing gear on the bike works ok for what I am currently doing.

Just this minute set it up, took about 15 minutes by myself, two people lots quicker..school boy error, I forgot to check my wheel size, I have a 29″, thick tread, mountain bike tyres.. there are high adjuster on the feet but still did not give enough clearance, tyre was just touching the floor, need about a centimetre higher, so being practical-minded and enjoy a problem, I had a coffee, then cut two strips of card, from the box, folded them in half, and slid one each side under the struts, at the top by the folding bolt, I know the card will compact over time, but I will get a couple a plastic spacers in the near future and now …….we are off

Once initially discovered how to set it up easy to use after the second time. Was surprised how good it is. Sturdy and folds away when not in use. Put it in a yoga mat Didn’t use the lever that came with it as my rear wheel had quick release. The six resistance set ups really good. Gives you a great work out and was expecting it to be really noisy which it wasn’t.

Great addition to my training, very sturdy and simple to set up. My only gripe would be the noise when you put power through the pedals. It’s fine at an easy pace, but as I use the higher gears it does get quite loud. Having said that, I’m still getting some good work done and it’s serving me well during these winter months!

Great purchase but quite noisy under powe

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersVery easy to set up (for a complete amateur), as the included instructions were clear. Just need to move the roller back as it’s forward in transit and the bike won’t fit!

I looked at the quick release levers on my Trek 7000 hybrid and my Trek Domane AL3 road bike and realised that I’d need to use the replacement lever (included) on my road bike as the lever was flat, but not on my hybrid which had a nobbly bit sticking out already (see photos). I was therefore able to put my hybrid in it with no modification.

Works really well. Comes with a front wheel stand and resistence dial for handlebars (although you can use your gears anyway). Very noisy so no watching TV, even on low resistance.
Have now started doing 5 minutes of very high resistence hard pedaling followed by 10 minutes of watching catch up TV, then repeating (kind of like a HIIT workout) which I’m hoping will help with hills outdoors this summer!

    Fab, very happy!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis arrived in good time with Prime. On arrival was well packed yet easy to assemble.
Fixings include a bar mounted resistance and a front wheel wedge to level the bike. To fit he rear wheel means to change the quick release and then centre and tighten the rear wheel into the A frame. You then adjust the base resistance to the required level and use gears on the bike and the bar mount adjuster too.
Over all – will make you sweat for all the right reasons.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExactly what I needed to use my bike indoors. I didn’t need to change the axel or fit a quick release thing or anything to put my normal bike on it as the nuts hold it in place really well. Great to have gears to change the resistance. It is a little noisy for the neighbours, I have road tyres so it is probably quieter than most but I do have to wait until the downstairs neighbours are out until I can use it as I think I’d get a few complaints if they were in when I used it. But other reviews mentioned this so I knew it would be like that and didn’t expect silence.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersSturdy construction and very easy to assemble. Beware if you have a road bike with disc brakes. My BMC Roadmachine has thru axles so I had to buy an adapter to replace the standard skewer (35! from Amazon, came next day) and the dropout width is such that I had to remove the inner screw adjuster heads to get the bike to fit.
Now works fine although I need to adjust something to stop occasional, unwanted gear changes.
Overall a decent purchase for the money but not as widely suitable as it suggested – hence the 4 stars

Golden Review Award: 110 From Our UsersWell peeps I’m always a bit sceptical about ordering on line with most purchases, but I must say this is a great piece of equipment. First off I was expecting a 3-6 day delivery and it arrived within 36hrs great service. I removed every thing from the package made my way to the man cave and within 10 mins I had changed the spindle and fitted the bike in the frame (see photos), quick and easy along with fitting the resistance cable and adjusting the roller to suit the bike. Now here’s the thing guys I’m am new to this cycling malarky and I have a couple of points. Firstly I’m 122kg HGV driver and need to shed some 25kg+ so is the Velo Pro strong enough to accommodate this sort of weight? as there is no indication of what it will take! Well I’ve had several sessions on the bike and all is ok with the fitment and frame at present, only time will tell, but I have lost 4kg already 🙂
Secondly, I’m sure this is not the same as riding on the road with a group of other cyclist as you do, however, for me it suits, I don’t have to look out for the idiotic road users (plenty of them!!!) I don’t have to avoid the 1000’s of pot holes that are in our roads. I don’t have to be aware of any people/children walking out in front of me. Finally I stay dry every time I use my bike.
I’m in no doubt that I will eventually venture out onto the road once I’ve shed the weight and look somewhat trimmer!!
But this works for me and I would recommend this Velo Pro product for anyone looking to purchase and indoor bike trainer as a reasonable price. Thanks Nu-Fit
    PROS
Easy fitting – all accessories supplied with the trainer
Good resistance on the roller 1-6 easy to change settings (Is it enough for a hardened cyclist? I would say so)
    Folds away for storage
Rock solid and sturdy whilst riding
    Cons
    Couldn’t find one as yet

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersTook about 20 mins to unpack and set up, including removing the stubborn skewer from my bike to replace with the provided skewer.
Instructions are a bit vague, but easy enough as you just look at the Trainer and you can see the logic as to how it works.
I’ve got my winter bike running on it so I can leave it assembled and use my other bike on dry days. I run smooth racing tyres on it and it’s not too noisy (family complain in room below about the noise though) but I can imagine an MTB with knobbly tyres would be pretty loud.
Its rock solid when the bike is attached and you can really push on hard out of the saddle.
You get a real work out on it — after 20 mins sweat is dripping off, but that’s what it’s all about.
I’d really recommend this — you can spend a hell of a lot more but to keep fit in the winter without getting cold, wet and cycling at night, this is great value trainer.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersExcellent product, a 100 times better than any exercise bike. Easy to assemble in 10 minutes and solidly built. Ride your bike in your own home for a great workout and not some plastic exercise bike that gives little resistance and falls apart after 10 minutes. You get proper leg room to stretch out during exercise and the cup for the front wheel keeps you steady. A little noisy with the tyre I have on my bike but I knew that would be the case, buy a smooth tyre if noise is an issue. I cant rate the Velo highly enough.

Golden Review Award: 60 From Our UsersI like this device. It was easy to set up. I spun the bike over and removed my existing quick-release rear wheel spindle and put theirs on – then into the frame and up on the carpet… facing a nice big window (so I can feel like I’m going places). It feels rock steady on the carpet and it won’t let you take a tumble no matter how much welly you give it on the bike… I’m around 100KG and I haven’t felt in any way wobbly (except my belly, of course). I’ve set the resistance to number 3, but I’m getting enough variation from the bike’s gears (I could just as easily not attach the resistance clip to the handlebars and just leave it on the floor). As for use… well, it gets me sweating easily within 15 minutes. It’s like riding uphill all the bloody time. There’s no outside wind to cool you down, so you just get hotter and hotter and lose more and more weight as you go… but what is the best thing? You ain’t gonna run over an errant dog. You’re not going to crash into a little kid trying out their pedal car. You’re not going to slip on any ice while speeding around a bend… all that danger is gone! Plus… it’s easy to get ready for a ride, no preparation, no getting the bike out of the garage… I love the convenience. I’m not any kind of expert on biking or these devices – I have nothing to compare it to, but I like it. I have lost 5KGs in the first week… that’s going on either once or twice per day (for no more than 30 minutes). Also, I have my Sonos system blaring out tunes for me so it’s better than wearing Bluetooth headphones while out in the cold like all the other schmucks. The only thing is… when I go out I kinda measure my ride… distance mainly. I like to praise myself by saying I’ve done 15 miles, or 20 miles, or – once – 23 miles. But with this it’s irrelevant. Any notion of distance on this device wouldn’t relate to the real world in any respect… so you have to measure time.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI was looking for a mag turbo that wasn’t going to break the bank and this came up when I searched. The setup when it arrived was quick and simple, a quick swap of the quick release skewer as the ones on my Mavic wheels done fit and I was up and running. The trainer is not too loud, the resistance changer fastens to your bars and away you go. I coupled it with a speed and cadence sensor and with Zwift and had a fully functional training setup in a short space of time.

I read lots of the reviews and also asked a couple of questions before purchasing. Sadly when it arrived it wasn’t straight forward. Although a quick release pin was provided I was unable to use it due to my bikes rear tyre being fixed/solid. ( Sorry you are hearing this in ‘girl’ speak not my husbands terminology!) . I rang Nufit who I’d purchased it from and they sent me out another nut. This has worked a treat. It was mentioned by Nufit that they have talked to the manufacturer that it would be a good idea to include this extra nut as standard. Nufit were great, thanks Rory and Arthur. My turbo trainer is up and running. We have purchased a different rear tyre as the off road one on my mountain bike was very noisy and bits of the tyre were coming off. And a bonus is my very tall husband can use my bike on the trainer by raising the seat. ‘Ive given it 5 stars as although I had trouble it wasn’t the Velo Pro Turbo trainer that was at fault. For me I felt it was worth the money, I read my kindle and my husband watches the TV whilst cycling. Win Win….

Very good trainer. As this was my first one, I have nothing to compare it to, however, I would say that the cable doesn’t add any value – it doesn’t fit on my handlebars at all (it’s too narrow). All you need do is use the gears on your bike to increase the difficulty.
On that basis, would I still have bought it? Yes – it’s very sturdy so good build quality, easy to setup/’unsetup’.
One piece of advice when using this: make sure you have your thong (or equivalent) 😉

Other reviewers say this item holds a 29r it does But not effectively, I’ve had to put items under the feet to stop the tyre gracing the floor.
Also it’s very noisy with use of standard mountain bike tyres.

The item tho does as it says turns your bike into a indoor excercise machine.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersOkay I was sort of dubious at first about buying this for my trek hybrid bike but I can honestly say that those fears were completely unfounded. Firstly the price made it worth the experiment and risk. The trainer arrived just 2 days after ordering even though I hadn’t specified any form of express delivery so I was very impressed. It was well packaged and protected. It fit to my bike so easily I actually thought I must have had it on wrong! It basically has 7 gears and has meant that [now that it’s the summer – or ‘silly driver season’ in Cornwall] I can still get plenty of exercise on my bike during the holiday season when our roads get filled with idiots who don’t understand Cornwall [speeding around the narrow lanes – Cornwall is here for those who prefer to take life slowly!] I am still clocking my 15 miles a day without leaving my back yard! Plus when disconnected [less than a minute] it folds completely flat. Frankly this is one of the best purchases I have made and the speed and security of delivery is a bonus.
