I started looking at the review just by curiosity because Im looking for a new printer and I was shock by the negative reviews. Honestly I couldn’t start 3d printing with an other printer. It’s ready to use out of the box. I personally made some modifications, I change the fan to make less noise but it was just for the fun of doing it. Im looking for another printer because I want to peint bigger part but Im keeping this one.
Honestly the price is higher but it’s good quality.
It’s an excellent printer for beginners

    Very good novice printer.

So far,I have printed with PLA and PETG and all prints are OK. Just a tiny, tiny stringing with PETG; nothing serious for the printed parts.

Good starter printer, come assembled, easy to get started. However, the accuracy is not so good, and need to constantly to adjust the bed level to make it print well.

This has been a great for a beginner. I bought this so It could help me through parts of my Diploma in digital technologies and it has done its job to print from my designs in inventor. It has also printed off designs from online sources. I don’t use the camera function much, if at all. I now wish i bought one with a larger build plate. But we settled on the cheaper and smaller printer just to see how much we would use it and upgrade later. You can open the door whilst it is printing without it stopping your print, to pull out any bits that may get in the way so it doesn’t fully ruin your whole print. Also, if you are printing and the AC Mains plug gets pulled out, or if you have a blackout, your print won’t be able to finish. I found that out the hard way.

Bought this for my son upon recommendation from a retired aerospace professor we met. I think the best part for me was that it was ready to go right out of the box, which is pretty neat. My son loves it! Easy to use, the touch screen is a nice feature, plus there’s a camera and a light that you can watch your project when you’re not around.
I would highly recommend the FlashForge Adventurer 3D printer if you’re looking to get started in the world of 3D printing

This product is super easy to set up and start using and the flashpoint software you can get for slicing works pretty well. I especially love being able to monitor the print on my pc through the on-board camera. I did have an issue when I took the nozzle off to clean it where the printer stopped recognising it and wouldn’t heat it up which I fixed by going into settings and factory-resetting it. Also the motors on the filament feeder sometimes start jumping which isn’t great but that can also be easily fixed. Another issue is that the spool holder can only support up to .5Kg spools but that is easily remedied by an attachment that can be printed off to allow for larger spools to be used. Flashforge also has an impressive array of different PLA filament colours which look great. That said, the printer runs really quietly and is pretty to look at. Overall I’d say this is a good entry-level product for people starting out with 3D printing.

The Flashforge filament spools are a special size (it uses the 0.5 kg variety). If you want to use 3rd party filament, you will need to get creative. The printer works well and the removable build plate is convenient for removing finished prints.

A great printer indeed. Right out of the box and it was printing with no issues. I’ve had to lube the bars that the extruder moves on. But other than that it has been printing non stop for over a month. It’s not that loud. I keep it in the office and it doesn’t interfere with video calls or while chatting in games. I wasn’t expecting it to be so easy to use. And the proprietary software is easy to use. I don’t understand the complaints about it. I would recommend this printer for anyone wanting a good printer that is super easy to use.

Initial cost is higher than ender , but for the convenience of no tinkering , on board camera ,touchscreen , wifi , enclosed shell well worth the difference in price.
Only downside is limited print envelope but for most prints , the size is adequate.

So far I’ve absolutely loved this printer, about my only gripe is the software overproducing supports on certain items that require it which can waste alot of whatever filament you are printing with.

Besides that it comes preassembled and ready to plug in and start printing. If you want to print over the wifi it seems to work great, especially if you have good internet. The touch screen leaves quite a bit to be desired, as the sensitivity is horrendous, but luckily there’s not much need for it besides loading different filament or choosing prints you’ve already sent to the printer.

I ordered the Adventurer 3 from 2 different vendors and both sent me the lite version which is 100$ cheaper. I finally got one off eBay. I do very much enjoy the adventurer 3 and have had about 100 hours on it. So far everything is great except the size of the printable area could be bigger which I have seen is being addressed for the adventurer 4

Overall the product has been great, however it does use smaller spools than they standard. I had to order filament 3 times before I got one to fit in the enclosure. Also, there was no instructions beyond the quick start guide, so there was so trial and error getting the correct software installed. One I got through the hurdles, it works great. I purchased this unit because I have small children and having everything contained in the box prevents them from messing with it. 🙂

I have this printer and their Finder as well. The Finder is a workhorse, a bit harder to maintain though. The Adventurer – hasn’t been as reliable but is much easier to work on. That said, I did have an issue I couldn’t solve, and FlashForge support was responsive, detailed and went above and beyond. My first email went to their team in China, they referred me to the US and after about 7 email exchanges, we diagnosed the problem and part is on its way. 3D printing has it’s challenges, and for new folks, can be intimidating. 5 stars purely for the fact that Flashforge understands that, and follows through with the support needed to get going, and keep going.

I’ve been using this machine for 5 months and it still works great. The reason I bought this machine because it’s ready to use out of the box; the nozzle replacement is easy peasy; it has a camera (though sometimes it’s lagging), but it’s good to have it; the software (flashprint) is easy to use.

I purchased several 3D printers from different brands and I was not happy. I returned all of them. I bought this printer because people raving about it. I’m glad I did.

I’ve been printing lots of lithophanes. They turned out great. My family and my friends love those lithophanes. I also made keychains, figurines, etc. They all turned out great. I highly recommended it!!

I’m a relative beginner to the whole 3D printing world. I’m learning blender and getting familiar with the materials and such. I was recommended the FlashForge brand by a friend who has been in 3D printing for years. The model they recommended was out of my price range, but I found this one for $449.00 (pre tax). I sent the link to them and the recommended that I grab one. I have exposure to the makerbot systems, and honest prefer this over their comparable systems.

    Pros:
    Easy Setup
    Prints fairly quickly
A number of options in the software to adjust the model and print settings
WiFi enabled lets me avoid USB drives
Has a streaming camera you can watch while printing
    Lightweight machine
Comes with some PLA to start printing when you get it
Flexible build plate makes part removal pretty easy

    Cons:
Build plate is a touch small, but that’s my own fault of expectation
Built-in camera is low aspect ratio and low framerate
The only LED in the print enclosure is on the extruder housing, so it overblows the view
The spool holder in the side doesn’t fit the HATCHBOX spools, so I had to make my own spool holder

    Summary:
It took a few trial runs of each material to dial in some settings, so having some presets based on common understanding would be nice. I use my ABS at an extruder temp of 235 C and the plate at 90 C and it seems to work fairly solidly. The touchscreen is a little small, but I don’t use it that often.

The WiFi option is great and functions like a dream. I didn’t feel this device took much setup at all. I plugged it in, loaded up the provided PLA and ran a test build within a few minutes that turned out the way it was meant to. The jump between poor/standard/high quality prints is really noticeable, but the option is there, which is nice.

I would recommend the printer. I’ve only had it for a few days, but it’s doing everything a home user would want, if not just a bit small. For $449.00 I am very very pleased with my purchase.

    Great Mid-Grade Option!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy first ever 3D printer. I had little to no idea how to get into 3d Printing and this printer was reviewed as the best option to do so. The reviews were right – so very easy to set up, get started with and use. Now I print most weekends for my hobby and it is just so rewarding to make then assemble and paint my own projects. Thoroughly recommended for beginners.

It’s pretty great. If plate is not warmed up enough, project never works. So make sure you warm it up.
It’s not the smoothest when it’s done, you have to clean it up a little after. But for a beginner it’s great!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI just wanted to 3D print some prototypes for some of the stuff I “make” for around the house. I didn’t want to mess around with filament temperatures and bed calibration or mm pitch. I just wanted to print.
This is exactly on target for my needs. Printed perfectly right off the bat without calibration, didn’t even request it. Easy to network – put to your Wi-Fi, go to your router, add a static entry for the device’s IP address so it’s always assigned the same address – finished.
The software that comes with it is adequate, it’s basically just a “print” driver. If you want to make 3D models then you should get a third party 3D CAD program or just get an online account for a free web based 3D CAD program. I’ve been using TinkerCAD online, it’s free and works perfectly for my needs.
I print 3-4 small objects daily – almost all come out perfectly. No tweaking, no frills – it just works.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOverall I’m impressed with this unit, though I’ve had a few minor issues. 3D printing is NOT set and forget; it’s more of an art form. I had an issue with the filament feeding properly, figured the machine was defective. Did some reading online and a little bit of compressed air then it worked fine. Had some warping on a larger print, looked online, had to increase the bed temperature. Each print takes some time to figure out what settings would work best given it design, your machine and the filament your are using. So there is a lot of finesse involved. It’s a bit of learning curve but it’s manageable. This unit can’t be beat for the price and offers a lot of features others don’t. The manual really only tells you how to turn it on; be prepared to read a lot of online materials to figure it all out.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIch bin Anfnger im 3D Druck.

I purchased my FLASHFORGE Adventurer 3 from Amazon December 03, 2020. My first 3d printer. When I started it up for the first time it lasted for ~6 second before it went dead. I found out after awhile that the fuse (not easy to find) had blown. There is normally a reason for that, and in this case, it seems to be the fuse itself that failed. I now have 50 hours run time after the fuse replacement. Both the after-sale representative, Julia Wu, and the support team in US were extremely helpful. I have only run with PLA filament, and I am happy with the results. Finally, I have to mention I was surprised this new machine already had 2 hours run time when I received it.

Great little printer. Definelty love the enclosure which helps printing with ABS. So far, I have absolute very good prints on both PLA and ABS. I’ve printed now around 100 hours with it and no issues. Only thing I upgrades is to a glass bed. Add a 165165 glass plate on top of the build plate and use “u-shaped” clips available on thingiverse for flashforge adventurer.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’m happy with this as my first printer. Setup was easy and I haven’t had any issues in about 350 hours of printing. The details on models are great and honestly my only complaint is the spool holder size. It doesn’t fit the standard 1kg spool so they want you to buy filament from Flashforge which is expensive. The simple solution is to print a TUSH (spool holder) and thingiverse has a design for a filament feeding port that you can install in the side. Pretty simple and easy. This printer is a bit pricey compared to other beginner printers but if you want something that will print what you want without all the tweaking of others, this is a good one.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is my fifth 3d printer. I was amazed to finally get a printer that would work right out of the box. I know that is assumed with any product, but most 3D printers require endless adjustments for each different type or brand of filament. It was very rare to get a perfect print, and with 3D prints taking hours to complete, the learning curve is extremely long. If I was lucky, I had a completion rate of less than 50%. With this printer, I have had one failure out of about 20 items, and it seems to have been an issue with cleaning the platen carefully.
The other printers were an ANYCUBIC MEGA-S, which had blockage and feeder problems (Amazon return) and an FLSUN QQ-S, which had heat issues on the platen and a drive belt failure. (Amazon return)
This one is very easy to use. My only complaint is that the camera is not very usable, perhaps they will create an app for your phone that will allow you to log into it without the computer. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe machine prints well and didn’t even require calibration to start – I’m up to 10 hours of prints and happy with the results. One small issue was that I initially had trouble getting the filament to feed into the machine as the feeder wheel tension was too tight, the solution was simple – to slightly squash the end of the filament with pliers, and I’m posting this in case anyone else has the same issue. I had contacted flashforge support but they couldn’t understand what I was saying and couldn’t offer any support, but despite that given the simple fix I’m really happy with this machine

Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersTHIS PRINTER DELIVERED!!!- I unpacked/setup and started printing my first item within 10min.

I’ve been in the 3D printing business for about a decade now. My primary workhorses are a makerbot Replicator 5th edition and SnapMaker 2, which I still love for a number of reasons.. but since this review is about the FlashForge Adventurer3 so let’s talk about that. My wife and mother-in-law both run very successful cookie businesses that require custom designed cookie cutters at a rate of 3-4 per week (on a slow week). I have been able to crank those out for my wife with the makerbot, but since my mother-in-law lives on the other side of the world she was having to pay someone to design/print her cutters for her (at a price of $5-$10 per cutter). I set out on a quest to find a cheap 3D printer that she could use. My goal was <$300, simple to use, MacOS compatible. I was hoping for Wifi connection and heated bed as well, but those were not requirements. I bought the FinderLite, and Adventurer3 for initial comparisons (but also have tested the DreamerNZ and many other manufacturers) After my initial setup and testing I suggested the FinderLite over the Adventurer3 to my mother-in-law based only on price and features that sheed needed...and she's a cookie cutter making fool now. In order to ensure her success I made an un-boxing video and even a "how-to" video explaining the important features of FlashPrint.. and now I create the STL for her cutters, and email them directly to her. Here's the details 1. Setup: Very quick and easy, just follow the prompts. Bed leveling almost too simple... not sure what it actually does, but I haven't had a problem with the bed being off level yet. 2. FlashPrint software: This is the only thing I don't like about this printer. On my MacBook Pro 13" (16GB RAM) using OS 10.15 Flashprint crashes constantly. On my wife's older Macbook 12" no problems yet- so I don't know if it's an OS issue, or some other problem? I prefer simplify 3D over flashprint anyway since it gives me more control over all the parameters, so I just use Simplify3D to create the .gcode file (**more about this in a minute) 3. Filament Storage: I love the filament storage in the side of the printer. Makerbot also does this, and it helps immensely to keep your workspace clean. The downside is that only 500gram filament spools will fit in the storage area, which means you're limited in what filament you can buy.. There is an alternative, though. I printed a filament winding device that attaches to my drill and I re-spool filament from larger 1kg spools onto the smaller spools which allows me to buy any brand/color I want. 4. Filament Included: In comparison to the FinderLite, they actually give you a roll of filament which is nice to at least get a spool that fits (see comment #3). 5. Noise: Machine is virtually silent. My makerbot is really loud.. I figured all 3D printers were, but not this one.. you don't even know its running unless you're sitting right next to it. 6. Bed Adhesion: No complaints here. I use the gluestick they provided to coat the bed with a thin layer and the models have no problem sticking to it, and pop right off. This is especially important since I don't like printing rafts. 7. Networking: I really don't like the Wifi interface.. it smells of old school DOS printer connection, where you need the IP address of the printer and every time you want to print you need to re-establish the connection. This is 2020, all printers should be "discoverable" and just print using a normal print dialog.. It does work, and hasn't given me any troubles, but come-on.. you can do better!. 8. File format: I HATE PROPRIETARY STUFF (I know makerbot is proprietary too). Flashforge prefers a .gx file which is a .g file with added thumbnail of the printed item so that it gives you a littel picture on the screen. This printer (Adventurer3) does not like .gcode (where the Finder/FinderLite had no problem with it). So if you use simplify3D (or cura, or other slicer) you have to change the output settings to create a .g file in addition to the .gcode file and it will work. Simplify3D also can create a .3gx file that is supposed to be compatible with Flashforge, but on all the flashforge printers I have tested it did not work at all. **Note, this is not the same on the Finder/FinderLite (see my review on that). 9. Media: USB port is easily accessible and works fine. I prefer this USB port over SD so I don't need an SD card reader. Only downside for me is it's the older style USB vice USB-C so I need an adapter to connect to my MacbookPro (or get the cool thumbdrives that have both USB formats on the same device). 10. Food Safe: Since we're talking about using these to make cookie cutters, it is important to note that PLA is not FDA approved for use with food. There are a number of reasons for this that most cookie makers negate by using saran wrap or sterilizing. This printer will allow you to print PETG which is food safe. If that is important to you, then the Adventurer3Lite($369), Adventurer3 ($449) or DreamerNZ ($449) are your next best option. Buying advice- If you want quick, easy out of the box simplicity, the FinderLite is still my #1 choice. If you need a heated bed and enclosed work area, then the Adventurer3Lite is the next step up and if you need Wifi/USB, then go with the Adventurer3/Dreamer.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGreat starter printer for sure, I say starter because there isn’t really the ability to upgrade parts in here. Things are tucked away and hard to get to without tearing apart the entire case. That said the community has come together and made so many printable mods to assist with the few cons this printer has. I’m extremely happy with my purchase :).

    Pros:
Prints almost right out of the box (very small 0.01mm adjustment needed on the homing).
Looks very well manufactured currently have it on my desktop and its very clean and well designed.
The enclosure heats up very nicely so abs printing is easy.
The settings out of the box are very fined tuned to work well with flashforge PLA and ABS.

    Cons:
Spool holder can only hold 1/2 KG reels 🙁 so if you have 1kg reels you need to print a holder or adapter
No custom hot end/nozzle upgrades available it seems or at least none that I have found
Camera is awful and so is the cloud service but the latter isn’t really under their control and to give them credit at least the camera still does allow to you see if there’s an error or not so you can stop it remotely.

Great starter printer, pretty much prints right out of the box.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI bought this printer a few weeks ago with very little expectation from it because of its size limitations.
Boy was I surprised. This printer was ready to go straight out of the box. I plugged it in turned it on fed the filament and away it went. I had my first print running in under 30 minutes.
The only issue I have with this machine is that it doesn’t hold the standard 1kg spools of filament. They are just a bit too large for the holder area. ( It’s an enclosed assembly. )
It prints PLA and PLA+ without breaking a sweat although I haven’t tried ABS yet.
The touch screen LCD isn’t real big but it’s big enough to read and works very well.
I have only had one failed print and that was operator error.

I would definitely recommend this machine to any beginner that wants to get into 3D printing but doesn’t feel comfortable with coding and modding their own open-air printer.

    Amazing printer.

What a great little printer. Could use a little more documentation on camera setup but thats what youtube is for. Has been printing away for 36 hours straight now with no problems.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI leveled it with a piece of paper underneath it and it just works, love flashprint (slicer software), wifi is great, my first printer so I had no expectations going into this but seems like it does everything i want except go fast (that would cost more though)

My one gripe is having to turn the speed down to 50 mm/s to prevent the wire drawing device from skipping, (doesn’t seem to do anything bad when it does though). Will update review later (had for 5 days)

    Really easy to set up
The slicing software is easy to use and will accept lots of formats including JPG.
The camera works OK if there is plenty of light.
Haven’t needed tech support (which is a good thing) so I cant rate it.
All 3D printers require some trial and error tests to optimise performance.(temperatures flow rates etc.

I upgraded to the Adventurer 3 from the Finder. The ability to print both PLA & ABS, as well as the ability to connect through my Wifi system make this purchase a good one.

The printer is amazing, good quality prints. I had a cheap printer in the past and it was a pain, with this, you can print with ease, as long as your printer is on the level and the nozzle is calibrated correctly. Plug and play, there is no need to mess about, it just prints to a high quality.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIch hatte in den letzten Wochen insgesamt 4 verschiedene 3D-Drucker im Preisbereich 300-450 EUR angeschafft.

Weiter so!

Worked straight out of the box. Fully enclosed so safe to use with our cats around. While the printing is fairly quiet the default fan noise even when not printing is loud which is disappointing. No issues with bed adhesion and so easy to get off with the removable and flexible build plate. Provided software is easy to use and does have an expert mode if you like to get in and adjust settings.

This is my second 3D printer. My first was a cheap and cheerful CTC machine which I bought in the full knowledge I would be spending a lot of my time getting my hands dirty adjusting, realigning, replacing and fixing the printer simply to get a half decent print, half the time. But I thought it was a better place to start in order to really get a good working knowledge of the machines and how they worked, plus if I decided I didn’t want to continue 3D printing then I hadn’t broken the bank.

So after a year or two of the CTC machine I have upgraded to the Flashforge. I took a long time researching the ups and downs of other machines and settled on this one for reliability, functionality and price. I have not had it for long and only done maybe half a dozen prints, but massive difference. Prints have come out perfect each time, quality is high, love the wireless connection, no more loading SD cards and waking back and forth. Control screen is clear and easily navigated, loading filament is straight forward and the automated bed levelling is such an improvement from my other machine.

Only two niggles which might put people off, one minor and one more pertinent. The minor one: the in built camera is crap. don’t bother with it. but it has no effect on the printing really. The more pertinent niggle: The prints REALLY adhere to the print bed…like concrete! build plate is easily removable and flexible which is just as well, but even then I normally have to use a craft knife to slide between gaps between the print and the bed to lever it off and, though I have not yet, the fear is you come close to snapping something, print, bed or knife blade.

Other than the two niggles so far the machine has been well worth the money and lived up to everything it states about its prints and really that’s the most important thing for me. I rated it overall 4 simply because of the niggles, and print quality a 4 only because I’ve only done 5 or 6 prints.

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersI have already written two five-star reviews about the machine. Now a word about their technical customer support.
First, there is the main office in China. Interacting with them was tedious but they were prompt in replies and they seemed quite willing to help. There were language problems so I turned to FlashForge USA and discovered that they have a support group not fifty miles from me in Los Angeles. Much easier to converse with both on the phone and by email. Took a while for me to get my printer back on the air after it suffered a nervous breakdown. Okay, maybe I strained it by printing day and night with little let-up. In any event, the group here in LA were exceedingly helpful and even sent me a complete new nozzle assembly when all other repair attempts failed. When you own a complex machine like a 3D printer you want to be sure to deal with a manufacturer who provides extraordinary support. FlashForge seems to be that kind on outfit.

A comment about their customer support....

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBonne imprimante 3D, trs bonne qualit d’impression et simple d’utilisation.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe touch screen is a bit small and finicky, but otherwise I think this is a great printer for it’s size. It works well, filament change is fairly simple and unclogging the nozzle is pretty easy.
The one thing I do have an issue with is that the filament reels don’t always fit and so you have to either ‘make’ or build something to hold the new size of reels. This can be a bit of an issue and unfortunately means you will more than likely have to leave the reel door open. If I could recommend something to the manufacturer, it would be for them to create an alternate door with reel options.
I would recommend this for anyone who wants a starter 3D printer.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased this as an intro to 3D printing. I work with CNC milling machines on a daily basis, but I’ve had no prior experience with 3D printers. For the amount of money, I’m very impressed with this little machine. I haven’t had any failed prints and I have a total of around 100 hours of print time on the machine now. The only thing I will say is that the bed adhesion can be tricky – I tend to bump the temp up a little bit to help prints stick. The quality of the final print always seems to be very good, and this printer is particularly good at producing nice clean walls – suggesting to me that the repeatability of the drive system is excellent.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was looking for a 3D printer that didn’t require me to DIY assemble. I did some research and came across Flashforge who have a range of such printers and many good reviews for this particular affordable printer. I didn’t expect this printer to be perfect but it ticked all the right boxes for me. I found the printing quality in PLA and ABS superb and had zero issues with ABS not sticking to the heated platform. I actually bought an additional extruder nozzle and use one for PLA and the other for ABS. This was a decision I made to lessen any chance of filament clogging when switching between filaments that require much hotter or cooler temperatures. However, I have used PLA and ABS with the same nozzle and everything was fine. The spool size limit is a bit disappointing but it’s not a deal breaker as it’s an easy workaround if you don’t mind leaving the spool side open to feed in from an externally spooled reel. This printer is so quiet and can fit in most places and having the spool inside makes it less likely that my Cat is going to mess in play. Flashforge has its own dedicated software for this printer called Flash Print. Curator software can be used but needs to be made to work with this printer but why bother when the software provided works very well and is optimised for Flashforges range of 3D Printers. I’ve heard mention of Flashforges customer services their online forum and no negative feedback. If anything as a newbie to 3D printing, in this case, made easy its made me want to learn more. Maybe I’ll purchase a kit in the future as a learning experience something to experiment with and to have a second 3D Printer. If you are a newbie like me this would be good entry level 3D Printer and it’s packed full of features. If connected to the internet the printer will check for the latest firmware to further improve the product functionality. The connectivity and access to cloud services using Wi-Fi or ethernet through your home network is fabulous. There is even a camera so that you can monitor your print job online but most of all you can just load your splice from a download and print offline. The touch screen display makes it easy to operate and easy to select which file to print because it displays an actual preview image in the display. I am very happy with this printer it was the right one for me I love it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersStampante 3D magnifica.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersAs every printer it has some good sided and bad. I run it for some time now, previously had Finder for over a year.
    Pros:
    – heated bed
    – can print both PLA and ABS
    – fully enclosed
    – well built and small
    – plug and play
    – no wrapping so far
    – prints stick well to the bed
    – easily replaceable extruder
    – low maintenance
    – no need for bed levelling – just adjust Z-axis before your first print and you’re good to go
    – I very like the design of the bed – easy to remove and wash
    – basic parts are not too expensive – bed plate costs about 10, extruder 20 (I don’t know how long it will last yet)
    – so far zero problems with the machine or prints

    Cons:
    – issues with other than Flashforge filaments – I tested several different brands and all cause hammering/clicking noise on the filament motor – this has something to do with speed of melting. Still prints are ok so I have no problems with that noise every now and then (it’s very random but in average 2-3 clicks every minute). The problem does not exist with the original Flashforge filaments. Keep in mind that I don’t know how this can affect the motor or other parts on the long run. Solution: either stick to the original slightly more expensive Flashforge filaments or accept the clicking noise
    – same as Finder – the spool holder can cope with 0.6kg spools only. Solution: easy to sort out by re-spooling, printing an extension arm or using a spool holder
    – hard to get replacement parts – it’s a new model so this should change soon but at that point you can’t even buy it from Flashforge. I managed to find nozzles in some UK 3D online store and beds in Swiss store.
    – the camera is rubbish – simply forget about it. Poor picture quality, fps is so low that you can’t see a thing, no app and the only way to access it is via the printer IP (see below) or via cloud service (Polarcloud). Even then it’s a lottery – works 50-50, sometimes stops in the middle of printing. Just rubbish. Solution: forget about it or get a cheap little spy camera and hardwire it as there is plenty of space for an upgrade.
    – very frustrating – the printer IP changes every time you power it on/off. Depending on how you want to use it this can give you a headache. Solution: none yet but I believe this will change with one of the next firmware upgrades.

Overall it’s a very solid product. Has its flaws as every other printer, if you accept them or find a workaround then you should be happy with it as I am. I would recommend it over Finder.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am new to 3d printing and the Flashforge adventurer 3 is my first printer. As it was a christmas present, I searched and watched the setup youtube video. No need really, very simple to use and reading the manual is quicker. The unit has a small touchscreen which I have found good unlike some reviews which say otherwise.
Anyway, all I did was fire it up, put in the wifi password, push the filament in a hole with a big arrow next to it, press load filament, wait a bit, press calibrate, adjust the bed .8mm and start printing the box in memory. Hey presto, my first printed box.
10 prints later, I have now used most of the PLA reel that came with the printer by just playing and had some very good results.

In the picture, the tree is printed in the rough setting and the groot in standard. The unit came with red PLA plastic filament. The unit has wifi or ethernet or a usb for a memory stick. Printing is easy over the network but those not familiar with networks will need to find the printer ip address (press the wifi sid for wifi)

As a beginner’s printer and having watched further videos, I can say it is a reliable and easy printer to use. The flashprint software (used to convert 3d models to print [slicer]) is easy to use and does the job. It has an expert print mode that lets you define infill raft etc and whilst many online say switch to more comprehensive slicer software, I found it good. There is a steep learning curve when you start to make your own 3d models but mine have all worked fine except where I made a mistake and tried printing a part in mid air.

I friend of mine who uses a commercial printer at work tells me the finish on the model is very good considering this machine costs 1/20th the price of his at work.

The unit will print in PLA and ABS but I have only tried PLA so far. Heated bed and extrusion nozzle temp are set automatically by the software but can be adjusted. The unit heats up quickly.

The bed is a polymer one and bends to make it easy to remove the printed item which I found good but people in the youtube videos appear to prefer glass beds. I am not sure if I can or want to try glass.
I now want one that prints larger parts (maximum 150mm x 150mm x150mm on this) but will start with other materials first.

    Great little printe

    – Gute Herstellerpreise
    – Schneller Einstieg, da Gert “out of the box” funktioniert und die herunterladbare Slicer-Software des Herstellers sehr gut auf den Drucker abgestimmt ist

    Contra:

Hier muss man keinen Bausatz zusammenschrauben, es funktioniert einfach alles “out of the box”!
