I ordered this to enable me to sort out what I thought might be a damp problem at my mums.

I was worried ultimately about my mum as she’s in her late 80s and I don’t want her in a damp or cold house.
She’s very stoic and really won’t tell me if she’s cold let alone unwell. With the heating bills going up she’s very concerned about cost and it’s a worry for me.

Anyhoo. These fab thermometers and hydrometers together with a dehumidifier, a smart plug and Alexa have solved all my problems.

The app is great and will tell me if the temperature isn’t optimal and then I can pop on the heating or the dehumidifier if that’s what’s required.

It feels such a relief to know everything is perfectly safe and warm for her.

I thought it might be a faff to set up, but it’s actually fairly straightforward and intuitive.

These would be amazing in the greenhouse in the summer (I often end up with mould spores on my tomatoes due to high humidity) or in the babies room when he stays over to monitor temperature.
Honestly I think the applications are endless.

    I’m very happy with these.
I’m hoping to invest in a few more switchbot products. I find them to be great quality and good value for money.

I hope you find my review helpful.

I own quite a few of these hygrometers but these ones are the most expensive. I love the clear/large display and am using one in my indoor greenhouse. Accuracy (as far as I can tell) is good. Apparently the sensors are Swiss made so hopefully better than my generic Chinese other meters I have around the house. I have not yet seen a need to use wifi/bluetooth etc so can’t comment on that functionality, but as a high qual hygrometer I definitely recommend these.

Works very well with the Switchbot app via bluetooth. You need a hub for internet access. Accuracy is unknown, but you can calibrate it from an accurate source..

This is a big upgrade from the standard Switchbot meter that I previously purchased. The display is visible from across the room and the sensor updates more quickly on the app.
To view the live status of the meter from anywhere in the world or to use with Alexa you need the switchbot mini hub. Without it you still get full 24/7 historical data via Bluetooth.

Is there a more British fascination than with the weather and particularly the temperature? Possibly not, which is what interested me about this two pack of SwitchBot Indoor dual Thermometer/Hygrometer when offered for review under the Amazon Vine programme. At its most basic level it will sense the temperature in a room in Centigrade or Fahrenheit, simply toggling at the single push of the only button on the back of the unit; and identify the humidity. As someone looking to maintain a reasonable but not excessive household temperature over the winter given a reluctance to put the heating on unless necessary given the current cost of gas and electric that’s useful to know to help make an on/off turn it up/down decision.

The units are around 3″ x 2″ x ” in a white frame, with most taken up by a relatively large screen of 2″ x 1″. The larger characters are very clear LCD and around ” tall. It can be fitted in several ways: via a magnet to a metallic surface like a fridge door, attached to a non-metallic surface with a supplied sticky plate, fitted onto a screw head drilled into a wall, or free-standing thanks to a tripod plate. It runs off 2 x alkaline AAA batteries which are supplied and which the product information states last around a year. However if your use is monitoring a remote room such as a garage or shed, or a baby’s nursery then it is possible to connect via a downloadable app after initially setting up the link to your mobile phone via Bluetooth or wi-fi. The app means that graphs can be downloaded in a .csv format for analysis, recognisable by many spreadsheets, the ubiquitous Excel included, with up to 68 days of data capable of being stored. This shows it has potential industrial uses, such as making sure a wine cellar is kept at optimum temperature, a freezer has been doing its job consistently or a humidity and temperature sensitive atmosphere like a rare book library has remained within set parameters. For household use if you have the ability to adjust the household temperature remotely this may be useful if you were arriving home late or early and are acutely energy conscious currently. If you’ve set up via Bluetooth you can also set up ‘push’ alerts if a room gets out of the desired range, which could be useful.

The Thermometer/Hygrometer is capable of linking to other products in the SwitchBot range to extend the uses of the product, which is a nice touch. Extra functions are explained in a provided product leaflet. The sensor refreshes every four seconds and is accurate to 0.2C/0.4F and a humidity accuracy of 2% under normal UK indoor conditions per the product information. The product carries the following symbols:

    * EU CE mark showing conformity with many standards such as the Low Voltage Directive, the Energy Related Products Directive and the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive amongst others.
    * EU ROHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Act) compliance mark covering electrical and electronic equipment meaning that (amongst others) there is no lead, mercury, or cadmium used in the manufacture which all pollute landfills.
    * US FCC mark for electronic products manufactured indicating electromagnetic radiation from the device is below specified safe limits
    * The new post-Brexit UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) marking
    * The standard recycle mark, although I assume this relates to the packaging.
    * The crossed out wheelie bin symbol, for EEE products – Electrical and electronic equipment covered by the WEEE Regulations

This is a lovely piece of kit, deceptively simple at its most basic, capable of a lot when set up right. At 29.99 for two I think these are elegant, clear, and adaptable to a multitude of purposes where knowing the temperature and humidity is desirable. I’m very impressed.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis (or these if you get the twin pack) hygrometer and thermometer is pretty robust and pretty accurate. They work with an app to read and log temperatures and humidity over time, so they are perfect for getting a good idea of how your heating affects different rooms in your house.

The twin pack is actually two single packs within a larger pack (see the video), which might be a consideration if you want to gift or otherwise use the other one. You can use it without the app as a simple temperature/humidity display, although you are missing a lot of functionality if you do this. Ideally, you will be using these with a Switchbot hub to enable full integration with home automation but as I don’t have one, I’m afraid I can’t comment on this. However, I can recommend it as a well made piece of kit with lots of potential.

We picked a couple of these up to track the temperature in our bedrooms over the summer. When the heatwave kicked in, knowing we could keep an eye on the kids’ rooms without disturbing them in the night provided great peace of mind. Now we’re headed into the winter (and looking at mortgage-sized fuel bills) we’re using them again and able to ensure that the kids are as comfortable as possible.

Really neat temperature and humidity sensor display which comes as a 2-pack. They are wall mountable or you can pull out a small rest so it can be mounted on a flat surface like a photo frame with an arm.

You can view the data via your phone using bluetooth and only need the Switchbot hub (extra) if you want to connect it to control other devices.

The display is clear and so far the readings have been accurate when compared to other nearby sensors. Happy to recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI think these are fantastic little hygrometer.

They take a while to settle but when they do, they match perfectly.
The app is easy to use and provides lots of valuable information.

The screen is a good size and clearly visible from 8 feet away.
They can either be used free standing or wall mounted.

One of the best things about this is the ability to expand the system.

I know Brits are a little weather obsessed but I’m really enjoying being able to see the indoor temperature as well. Especially during these times of high energy bills. Since this comes in a 2-pack, I’m able to keep a track upstairs as well as downstairs and it’s been working really great since I’ve started using it. The large display is also a massive bonus as my eyesight isn’t what it used to be.

I ordered these mainly so I could check the temperature in our girls bedroom without needing to disturb them at night and as it came in a 2 pack – the other to be in another room where I can ‘feel’ the temperature and compare as our (quite old) house sometimes does have quite differing temperatures in different rooms and I have found difficult so far to accurately judge how best to control radiators in each room as the overall house central heading system is controlled by one thermostat.

These were easy enough to get set up by following the included instructions. Changing the unit from F to C with a simple click of the button on the back of each is done very quickly.

I don’t have the SwitchBot hub (I had never heard of it before and just thought they were for simple bluetooth monitoring via the app), and so I was wary when I started reading more BUT happy to realise that it isn’t needed for this purpose (only if you want to connect it to control other devices).

They both connected first time no problems and then having moved them into position (both at the front of the house – one upstairs and one in our living room downstairs). My home office is at the back of the house with a few walls in between and I am very impressed that when using the iPhone app that after opening the app – I usually get the readings in about 5-10 seconds. I’ve once or twice had a ”move nearer” warning but then it did update without moving out of the room.

One photo shows both devices next to each other (had been left there for about 5 minutes) and you can see a bit of variation between them – so I am not sure how accurate they are. However – if you click on the Settings button in the App – there is a calibration option with 2 suggested options (either referencing an already calibrated device or putting the device in a plastic bag in iced water) .

For me, the two are close enough – mainly to monitor temperature between 2 rooms. I will fiddle around with calibrating them later – but for now these are very handy to give a good idea of temperature / to notice if there is any big difference between 2 rooms (being small and wireless – easy enough to take the living room one up to our bedroom to monitor particularly when the weather is excessively hot / cold / changing quickly).

Update: Having now calibrated them and monitoring for a few weeks I am happy to add the extra star so 5 stars now 🙂

5.0 out of 5 stars Basic thermometers that work with Bluetooth fine - not sure on accuracy. Good for basic checking

This double pack thermometer and hygrometer in one is excellent. The size is large enough that I can check the temperature and humidity from a distance. I keep one in my front room, and one in the kitchen, which can be handy as there are differences between the two rooms. The screen also includes a battery meter and a ‘comfort’ symbol which indicates when the temperature and humidity are between comfortable levels. The device will also indicate when there is an especially humid or dry environment. As I live in a basement the reading regularly goes into the ‘too humid’ category, which is nice to know and reminds me to open a window, or take other steps to reduce the humidity.

These devices can connect to a smart phone. The app has some nice features: the readings on all your devices can be seen on one screen. Also, your phone can download reading history, meaning you can see charts showing how the temperature and humidity varies over the day, or over other time periods, such as the past hour or past week.

The same company sell wifi-hubs, allowing for other devices to be connected. I see they have a humidifier available, which can be turned on automatically if humidity drops below a certain level. Sadly I could not see a dehumidifier, which would have been more useful for me.

I really like monitoring the temperature in my house and the humidity and these SwitchBot gadgets are brilliant.

I’ve heard of SwitchBot before, they are a good brand and I most definitely recommend these 2 thermometers & hygrometers. They are really easy to set up. By pulling the plastic tab out of the back of the battery pack, they will automatically switch on. To activate the Bluetooth, press the button on the back for a few seconds and the Bluetooth symbol will appear.

You download the app as directed in the instructions and you link the 2 sensor (you can name them too, which is handy). This way you can monitor the temperature and humidity in the rooms you place the sensors in (when you are in Bluetooth range of them). The app builds up a history, which is interesting to look at.

They come with magnets in the back and an extra sticky magnet that you can use to stick to a wall/appliance. However, they also have a stand that you can put in place to put them on a table/bookcase.

Overall these are great and accurate. You can buy the hub if you want to use the Alexa and Google features, but I’m happy just using them as they are. I recommend.

I purchased three of these to let me monitor temperature and humidity around my home and in my fridge.

I already had a mini hub that I could connect them to, and setup was pain free – remove the tab covering the battery, open the app, and follow instructions. All three were setup in a few minutes, and arranged into different rooms within my home and the app.

I’ve setup several automations using the app, and all have executed correctly so far. I have one which turns on a dehumidifier (via a switchbot) if the humidity gets too high, and another which turns on the heating/air conditioning if it gets too cold/hot respectively.

Overall these have been great value for money, I may buy more of them, but it has led to me studying the data charts in the app more than maybe a normal person would!

I was pleased to try these ‘SwitchBot Indoor Thermometer Hygrometer 2 Pack, Indoor Temperature Humidity Sensor with Smart Alert & 68-Day Data Storage, 3In Bluetooth Room Thermometer for Baby Home Garage Greenhouse’. I have a couple of similar units, although they do not have the connectivity function and I especially wanted one to go in the greenhouse. These ones can be accessed via your phone and Switchbot app.

The units are a neat size at about 6.5cm x 8cm x 1cm and there are a few ways to fix them – a little stand that pulls out at the back, a keyhole aperture to hang on a hook/nail, using the magnet inside the back to adhere to something metal and by fixing the metallic 3M sticker on the back to stick the unit somewhere.

You remove a tiny clear plastic tab to start the fitted 2 x AA batteries by the compartment on the back. The display is a good size and very easy to read with black figures on a grey background. The upper figure is the temperature – you can change easily from C to F via a tiny button on the back. Underneath is the humidity. Both iPhone and Android (5.0+) phones can download the Switchbot app by scanning the QR code in the leaflet.

I am happy with these two clever units, and it will be great to be able to see what temperature it is in the greenhouse remotely. The price of 24.99 is reasonable, in my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am happy with these two clever units.

I really needed something to monitor the humidity levels in my home. I had one of those cheap ones that you had to calibrate by putting it in the fridge or something. It was way too complicated for me to deal with so these electronic ones are a breeze. It always feels muggy in the house to me but I didn’t want to go out and spend money on a dehumidifier if I didn’t really need one. It will also help me to know when I need to run a humidifier in the winter. Something that’s a need to know when you have a kiddo. At least in my opinion. I’m not exactly sure how these would help you control the conditions in your home unless you have a smart thermostat I guess. I can’t really afford to do all that and I’m in a rental so I’m certainly not buying a smart thermostat to put in here. There’s an additional purchase in order to be able to view these temp/humidity monitors remotely, I believe. Which I suppose would be pretty cool to have if you did have a smart home and were out of town for a bit but I don’t travel really so I don’t need all that fancy stuff. Like I said, my main purpose is for monitoring the humidity in my home from home. I put them both in the same room at first. One in each corner to test their accuracy and they both had the same temp and humidity within one percent/degree. When you consider how airflow can affect these readings, I’d say that’s a more than allowable margin of difference. The screen is super easy to read and has a large display which makes them really easy to see. Super happy with these.

    UPDATE :
The manufacturer contacted me and provided a link and information on how I could recalibrate these meters using my certified thermometer, and I am very pleased to say I was able to get them to read spot on against my thermometer.

I needed a couple of thermometer/hygrometers and I thought these would do the trick, what I didn’t realise though that they are really a part of a complete SwitchBot system.

This pack includes TWO of these meters.
Having said that they should still do what I want as I am severely asthmatic and need the temperature and humidity to be monitored all the time and with the app I can also see the changes over a 68-day period.
Like most meters of this type you can either mount the meter on a wall using a screw by and the ‘keyhole slot’ on the back, or use the ‘sticky’ magnetic plate supplied and attach the meter to that, and finally my much preferred method of using the in-built ‘kick stand’ on the back.

To activate the meter you need to pull out the plastic tab on the back, which will then allow the already fitted 2 x AAA batteries, in each meter, to power up the device.
On the back of the meter is one single button that changes the temperature from C to F, and as I prefer F for room and weather temperatures, I selected that.
I ran the 2 meters for a couple of days first, just to see how accurate they were, and the temperatures were within 2F and the humidity within 4% of each other (at worst), not the best results I have had from a pair of identical meters but within the acceptable limits but see more on this in my “Conclusion”.

I also checked the temperature against my certified thermometer, and after leaving it 4 hours to settle down the temperature was 5F out on one meter and 6F out on the other meter.
One thing I noticed though was that the ‘smiley face’ comfort indicator was missing at this point, it only appears after you have created an account and paired the meters, so don’t forget to create a free account.

I then downloaded the SwitchBot app from the Google store and installed it.
I then had to put in my email address and choose a password on the most IRRITATING backgrounds ever, that keeps changing, making what you are typing difficult to see and read, and for the first time ever I needed to use a magnifying glass as well as my reading glasses to do this, SwitchBot you really need to change this ASAP !
After a couple of attempts to get signed up, I then used the app to pair the meter (easy), it then downloaded all the data from the last few days into the app, great I thought than I noticed that the temperature was in C in the app. whist it was in F on the actual meter… searching the FAQ’s was no help and I eventually found out that I needed to go ‘Profile’ / ‘Preferances’ to change the units to F.. sigh !

You can add rooms, to put the meters and other devices in too but I just named then No. 1 and No. 2, I will probably add rooms at a later date though.

    Conclusion :
I will probably add more to this system, when they expand it a bit more and a little work in the instructions on how to change the temperature units in the app (very easy to do on the meter itself though, just press the button on the back) and the meters should have been better for accuracy too, compared with other makes I have, that is, but also easy to adjust once you know how.
I have now ‘upgraded’ my rating to 4 stars, something I normally don’t do, but the only problem now really is the app, and that is why it has lost a star, but when it is actually set up there are no problems with it .
They also sent me free Hub Mini’ which is really useful for me so I can now check the readings when I am out and about, and it was easy to set the hub up as well, they are definitely concerned if you aren’t having a good experience, an excellent point, as most manufacturers really don’t care.
You can also program your TV remote into the hub and then control the TV via Alexa, very nice, and that is my next thing to do.
I certainly will keep looking at what they will be offering in the future, as it could end up a very good system and one that isn’t that expensive either, unlike the weel known ones.

Like several others on the market these thermometer / humidity gauges store readings internally and using Bluetooth can transfer that data to the app on your phone or tablet (or to the Mini Hub).

Easy enough to setup (in the android app you have to create the rooms later) and the data is well presented.

I have ordered their Mini Hub and I understand with that even cleverer things are possible.

I recently upgraded the heating controls across my house which included fitting new fast-reacting gas-filled thermostatic radiator valves and these monitors seemed like a great way to track their effectiveness.

They’re high-quality items and arrived well packaged within individual sealed bags and a well-presented outer box. They’re quite weighty too and look well-made with a nice finish. You can use them with either the integral fold-out stand, mount them with the built-in picture hook mount or attach them to a wall using the supplied magnetic adhesive strip. 2 x AAA batteries are supplied with each unit and you just have to open the hatch and remove the thin plastic strip to activate them before use. There’s only one button on the rear of the unit and this is used to activate the Bluetooth connectivity so that you can pair it with your chosen phone or tablet. You only have to do this once, as the monitors were found by all of my devices after first having installed the Switchbot app.

The monitors are accurate and correspond with my other non-linked thermometers around the house, to within 0.2 degrees.

The app is quick and easy to download and simple to understand and use. I’ve attached a few photos showing the sort of graphs you can generate and these have been a great way of getting to understand the temperatures my new TRVs are maintaining, when the warmest and coolest parts of the day are and also how quickly each room gets up to temperature after the heating comes on. This now means that I can fine-tune each TRV setting and also the central heating timer to ensure that I’m not over or underheating each room or running the central heating for longer than is necessary.

I’m very impressed with these and pretty confident that they would actually pay for themselves after a short while. Certainly, I’ve been able to run my central heating for an hour less each day, simply due to being able to understand the heating patterns around the house.

I’d definitely recommend these and in fact, intend to buy some more.

Well-made, accurate and effective. Ideal for monitoring TRV effectiveness and heating patterns.

These sensors are great value for money at the time of review, being just 25 for a pair. Even as stand-alone temperature and humidity displays they would be decent value, but of course these are smart sensors.

What does this mean? Well, without the Switchbot hub you can view the temperature and humidity history of your room from the app on your phone, if you’re within bluetooth range of the sensor.

Connect these units to a Switchbot hub, and you can view this data from anywhere in the world, you can name the sensors according to the room they are in, and say things like ‘Alexa, what’s the temperature in the kitchen?’ and, more importantly, if you have Smartthings or an Alexa device that has a built in zigbee hub, you can create routines, for example: if the temperature in the conservatory reaches 30 degrees, turn on the air conditioner’. Of course you need an air conditioner that’s smart too, or a smart IR blaster to control the air con unit.

I also have a routine that warns me if the temperature in my conservatory gets too high.

Yes, it’s a bit of a niche device, but if you’re a smarthome nerd like me, you’ll find uses for these sensors.

I suspect that if they were in a sheltered spot, you could put one outside and set up a warning if the temperature falls below zero…perhaps to ensure that you allow yourself a little more time before work to de-ice your car.

These sensors are simple to set up and so far are working well.

The screens are plenty large enough and nice and clear.

Goodbye to my old mercury thermometers…hello Switchbot!

    I hope this was useful!

The World Health Organisation issue advice and information across the world to help people avoid the troublesome health conditions that arise if you do not keep the temperature and humidity levels at a correct level in your home.
Yes of course insulation and other factors affect and determines the temperature and humidity in your home but if you do not measure them you may not know there is a problem.
The SwitchBot thermometer hygrometer sensor measures and displays temperature and humidity you get two in a pack .
They are easy to use already powered up with batteries just pull the little tag out and they start up.
They have magnetic strips with good adhesive on the reverse so you stick them just about anywhere.
There’s also an app you can download to your mobile phone from the App Store , the sensor will then send regular information to your mobile phone to give you a true picture of the temperature and humidity in your home or shop.
Have a read of the great information on the SwitchBot website especially if your home is damp .
There are lots of other gadgets that can be linked up to the SwitchBot app many available for sale on Amazon.
I have put one of the sensors in my living room the other in my bedroom , I can now see at a glance what the temperature and humidity is which helps me determine when to put my heating on.

Great kit you will like i

This is a neat pack of two thermometers and hydrometers. They are very simple to use, if you just want to take the reading, but you can also download the app so that you can take the readings remotely and track on a graph.
When I first placed them side by side they had different readings but within half an hour they match on temperature and were 1 per cent out on humidity. These run with AAA batteries which are ready fitted, just pull out the plastic tab and switch on.
24.99 for two at the time of writing is a reasonable price

I wanted to track temp and humidity in a couple of locations and these I hoped would be a good fit. I was not disappointed and actually I was overly impressed. The device has an inbuilt kickstand and also a smal metal pad with self-adhesive tape which can be used to attach the device magnetically to a surface (also the std keyhole for screw fixing is cut out in the back). Supposedly to get the additional alexa/google/siri/etc.. smart functionality I would need the switchbot hub. What was an awesome surprise was that I had just logged into my “Home Assistant” home automation software and up popped a prompt saying it had detected the devices and did I want to add them, I did and immediately they started logging data into the dashboard… result!! I think I may need to think about a few more for other rooms, once I figure out how reliable the Bluetooth connectivity and range is.

Simply works and does it well.

Our central heating thermostat is located in the hallway, so is arguably in the worst place for drafts. It is wireless so we could (and often do) take it into the living room or wherever just to keep track of things temperature wise.

This 2 pack of thermometers are nice and small with either magnetic, freestanding or screw in mounts to be pretty much located anywhere. The display is clear and the best bit, link to an app and you can keep track of the history and see real-time information.

You need the ‘hub’ to take advantage of any smart automation features but if you’re already invested with this brand it makes sense.

This is a great if device for a few types of uses.

The SwitchBot Indoor Thermometer Hygrometer is really well made.
This is an excellent device if you are looking to automate or have control (temperature and humidity) for a project/garden.
But be prepared to buy the witchBot Hub f you want the maximum potential of the gadget.
For a simple gadget to put in a table and see the temperature don’t thing it is worth the price.

The manual needs a little addition, press (and hold) the button to par the device.
The app also needs some improvement on the room label names, which can get you confused some newbie users.

But, this is indeed a well-made device, also it comes with batteries, the magnets help to place whenever you want them to be placed.

I bought this as it had Bluetooth and wanted to use this for work as I couldn’t use WiFi connected devices.

I have tested the temperature and humidity against other professional sensors and it’s spot on. The battery lasts a really long time and being able to download the data easily to the Switchbot app is extremely useful. Looking forward to being able to create tasks to automate air conditioning around the house with the Switchbot hub mini.

Excellent accuracy. In sizzling burning heatwave we needed something decently accurate, got much better than l had expected. It keeps it accuracy parallel with the top end AirCon, so it’s proven. Very stylish as well. Only at some angles, the lcd panel is difficult to read from a normal distance, but bending one’s head a little bit time to time is not a big problem.

Works really well and is nice and clear to read. I bought this to put in the shed my rabbits are in. Really good as you can set alerts if it goes over a certain temp or below. Only thing is if I leave the house I can’t access it.

I’m not usually one to cause a fuss, and otherwise this seems like a fine product (and I’m sure I’m just unlucky) but sadly the display is faulty. I can make out the temperature, and really cannot be fussed with repacking and returning the product (as I’d already recycled the cardboard before checking everything was alright, which was stupid on my part) but just be careful if you purchase one.

Edit: The seller got in contact with me and offered a replacement, which was fully functioning. Recommended seller with this sort of customer care.

It works, but arrived with a faulty display. (Updated and problem solved)

I am so pleased with this. I bought this for my chinchillas to monitor the temperature in their room as they don’t survive over 22oC. I got this to work in conjunction with the SwitchBot controller which I have set up for their AC unit. I managed to pair them up through the SwitchBot app and It works seamlessly! I have set it up so their AC unit comes on automatically when the temp on this goes above 20.5oc and believe 18oC. It has just made life so much easier and less stressful. I don’t need to check in on them when I’m working to turn on the ac, now everything just works without me having to manually do anything! I’m so pleased with this and love SwitchBot products. They really do what they say they do. Now I don’t need to constantly worry about my little chinchillas in summer, while I’m out working. I can’t recommend this enough.

Using this to monitor the environment for an elderly relative. I needed to calibrate the relative humidity but it’s very easy to do and actually a useful feature. Will eventually add a proximity sensor and a Switchbot switch to operate a small space heater. Switchbot is a great value and innovative ecosystem. Highly recommended.

I have a couple of the standard switch bot meters to keep an eye on the humidity around the house for my plants. I thought I’d give the “plus” ago and I’m glad I did. The bigger screen is perfect and I like the comfort indicator. Like the other SwitchBot meters set up is super quick and easy, accuracy is spot on straight out the box.

This is a compact thermometer and humidity sensor with a nice large and uncluttered display. You can easily read the current conditions with a quick glance. The ‘Comfort’ indicator is also a nice touch. It connects via Bluetooth allowing you to track the historical temperature and humidity records, and even setup real time alerts when the conditions are outside of your chosen thresholds. I love the way it integrates into the rest of the Switchbot ecosystem.

I must say I’m impressed with Switchbot. They constantly listen to customer feedback and this gadget is the perfect example to that. With the previous thermometer there were a few issues (e.g.: it was difficult to read the screen), but they fixed them in this new product. Now it is perfect tool for measuring temperature and humidity, connecting it with your smart home, automating tasks, making it a perfect and essential part of your home. I love how easy it is to setup, and integrate with your smart home. It has a large screen, and it is easy to install it to anywhere as it comes with a magnetic tape as well as it has a “leg” to make it stable when it stands on its own. In terms of accuracy, it seems fine, similar to my other thermometers, with slightly off values, but not much.

I’ve got loads of Xiaomi temperature sensors around the house that all feed into my smart home running Home Assistant. I recently bought another Switchbot product and this came up in my recommendations. It looked like a great addition to our lounge. Whilst lots of these smart sensors provide data back to the automation system, very few have a display – that’s what I like about this. I have access to the historic data on the app or my Home Assistant but to find out the current temperature / humidity, I don’t need to take my phone out of my pocket!
I’ve got this hooked up to a Switchbot hub so, no matter where I am, I can see the data. The actual Switchbot app is actually pretty good. It has nice graphs and presentations of the data.
The display has passed ‘wife acceptance’ – which is worth its five stars!

Temperature and humidity readings are big and clear to see, I like the ittt options to activate other products if the temperature changes which is handy. The temperature change alert is useful for winter time incase of a cold snap I want to be woken up. A great addition to my smart home.

This seems a very fair price (20) for a smart Temperature/Humidity device that you can connect to Amazon Alexa or Google and use in routines to control other devices like smart plugs etc.
The display is clear and concise but does not have a backlight.
I have compared it with an accurate thermometer (I run a weather station) and I would say my Switchot Thermometer is very accurate – within 0.3C. The humidity reading seems pretty accurate as well. It also has the optin to calibrate it as well anyway.
Do remember you will need a Switchot hub to connect with cloud services like Alexa.
It was very easy to setup. Remove battery plastic protector and then press the back button for 5 seconds to pair to the hub through the excellent Switchot app. That’s it. The app will give you a graph of the temperature and humidity over time (hour/day/week etc) and you can also set alarms through the app if over or under a specific temp/humidity. It really is very flexible and does way more than I can say here.
Obviously if you just want to use it as a simple room thermometer then it does that as well and you can ignore the hub and the cloud aspect.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have 8 previous generation Switchbot thermometer/hygrometers dotted around the house and I love them. When I saw this newer, larger, easier-to-read version, I had to have one. I certainly wouldn’t replace all of them because the smaller one has it’s place being a much neater unit, and they don’t always have to be read at a distance.
I had a little trouble connecting it to my Swithbot mini-hub. It wouldn’t connect initially and in fact I raised a ticket with Switchbot support to which I am still awaiting a response.
But I tried again and noticed the app saying it was searching for bluetooth devices and had found a “meter plus”. When I clicked on that, it connected straight away.
So there remains some work to be done in the app to offer the option to connect a meter plus, because the existing option to connect a meter doesn’t work with this newer “plus” meter.
It is much larger with larger and significantly clearer numerals, so I’m pretty pleased with it.
I hope Switchbot retain the original smaller meter, because it does exactly the same job and if you only need to read it close up, or indeed via the app or Alexa, it’s perfectly adequate and looks neater on the wall.

Ok, firstly I have to admit that I am a SwitchBot fan having already already purchased their curtain control, switch control and the previous version of this meter. This version of there meter has a bigger screen and is much easier to read. From my tests so far, the temperature measurements are very accurate (after calibration) and the recording options mean that you can observe temperature over time. The meter looks good and with the multiple mounting or display options can be used all over the home. With the recording process I will be using mine to set-up my new central heating before moving to its new home in the living room so that I can nag the wife for having the heating set to high!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this as a fan of switchbot products and compared it to an existing thermostat that I had. I found it easy to set up, only critisim is that the batteries it came with didn’t work and I had to change them. Once I did this it worked immediately. Took a while to calibrate but then showed identical temperature to another device that I had, which this will be replacing as it is larger and easier to read and I can use in conjunction to other switchbot products
