I was very happy with this drone, as I took a chance of a deal where it had been reduced! The reason given as the box was damaged but stated the drone was as new! When it arrived there was very little damage to the box, and absolutely no damage to the drone! I have since flown the drone and its just perfect. The image I have posted is in the Yorkshire Dales. Be aware you will need to register for a flight id and take a test, an operators Id approved by the CAA. at the end of 2022 you will need to take an A2 C of C course which can cost 99 because of a change in the Law.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great drone.

as an amazon employee, this review does not represent my employer as i use this drone for personal uses.

After owning the DJI Mavic Mini I thought i would upgrade and so far it has been excellent and whilst I’ve not tested all the features what i have tested has been great and much better picture quality

Make sure you install the fly app from the q-code that comes with it – there are loads of DJI apps on the app store but I never found the one I needed!

If you’re a gamer with no drone experience – use flight mode 2, it’ll feel the most natural.

It’s a little pricy but worth every penny. You can see where the money has been spent too. It is super stable and I found flying it fun and quite easy to pick up. The collision detection definitely gives you a little extra piece of mind.

The camera quality amazing and stable beyond belief. Can’t wait to play more and give Steven Spielberg a run for him money with this brilliant piece of kit!

i thought the picture quality would be better as it states 48mp but it isn’t brilliant. Ive been a commercial photographer for over 15 years so I know what im looking at.

I already have the original Mavic pro and the new DJI FPV.. I got this thinking it would be a lot better than the original Mavic Pro but it is not much different so I have returned it. It is a great drone though for your first one but not worth the upgrade. I have since bought the Air 2S which is better and I am happy with.

Perfect drone for beginners and experienced alike.

Flys great, up to 6km in distance at a good speed for over 30 minutes battery life, you get 3 batteries with this so 90 mins of flying fun a session.

If you are looking at this then you are interested, id say get it, why spend more money on the pro for a less of a flyer?

This drone might seem a bit on the expensive side, but what you get for your money is “Fantastic ” I can’t fault it, it’s just so easy to fly, video stabilisation quality is excellent, stability in the wind is unreal & the controls are very responsive
Set up can take a while so be patient & you’ll be rewarded with a fantastic aerial video experience.

Overall very impressed with product very good drone this is my first so i studied a lot of videos before buying
Battery life is nowhere near what they quote but with 3 battery’s you shouldn’t have an issue, took my time and can see that you can have great fun going forward new laws dint help and i think DJI could do more to explain these
I had 2 minor issues with the drone with an altitude warning and an issue with the compass i emailed DJI customer services twice and heard nothing
Finally spoke to Ian a YouTube user who flys drones and he answered my questions very quickly
Overall impressed but travel with cautio

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAnyone going to spend 950 on a drone will have done extensive research on this already.
I can honestly say that this drone surpasses my expectations, The size is just perfect. The weight is the right balance and the design has had a lot of thought put into it.
Going from DJI Phanton 3 to Mavic Air 2 is eye opening. It took me 3 years to save up to get a decent drone and this one ha came along at the correct time, as I was looking to buy a Mavic Pro but was still way out of my price range.
The battery boasts of 34 minutes but as anyone knows that is only achievable in a complete perfect world, but does return about 28 in the real world which is still impressive.
The battery is located on the top so there is no chance of it falling off.
With this drone you can just fold in the props and then the legs and that’s it to pack it away, no faffing to take the battery out or removing the props, simply fold them away.
The controller is so much better as well, all you have to do is remove the sticks from their location on the controller and screw them in place, pull up the holder and slip your phone in and you are good to go .
The connection is easy as well and is reliable, however I did have a slight issue updating the new firmware though, I had to try 3 times before it would update.
It comes with 3 batteries and a charger to charge all 3 batteries. Don’t be fooled into thinking that they will all charge at the same time as this is not the case, they charge one after the other, but you can put all 3 on at bedtime and they are done by morning.
WARNING when you get the drone make sure you charge each battery using the normal charger NOT the Hub the 1st time you charge them, this is to register the battery to the drone, why you ask? I have no idea as if you don’t the battery will not charge.
Hope this review has been useful to you and happy flying

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe flight stability and picture quality are both stunning. I have mostly used it in tripod mode and will continue to do that. Crazy flying has not been attempted. I have become a neighbourhood hero as all the residents in our block consented to me taking pictures of our roofs in need of repairs. Amazing tool for observation of areas usually out of bounds.

Software interface is excellent. iPhone battery seems to run out very quickly. I need to explore charging the iPhone from the hand controller a bit more meticulously. Perhaps I’ve failed to properly engage this function.

I expected this device to be very noisy from watching videos of older versions of the drone. This fella is pleasingly quiet! Big surprise!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI ordered this drone and when it arrived found the DJIgo4 app on my Ipad would not connect to the drone. after fluffing about for an hour I got out my compact mini drone and set it up. on power up and connecting to DJI fly app on the Ifone the Mavic air 2 started to respond to the compact’s remote.
IT seems the DJIgo4 app is for the Mavic 2 PRO/ZOOM models and the DJI fly app is for the Mavic2 BUT there is nothing to tell you anywere in the manual, it did not help the APP store would not let me connect via the camera scan.
its very confusing that there are so many versions of the Mavic air 2 about and each have a differant APP to control them.
Now I just need a calm day to take it out doors for a proper fligh

I was excited to order this drone only to be totally disappointed on its arrival when I discovered that the drone did not include the advertised technology or features. Only USA purchased drones got the new ADS-B hardware which does not make any sense for a portable drone I want to take with me on trips to america, Asia or beyond so to deny the hardware to certain countries makes the portability of the drone less attractive as it should have all the same features no matter where you fly or buy. I returned it as it was not as advertised by DJI.

As a first-time drone flyer I found it very easy to control. However the DGI fly app takes a bit of practice to get used to using for the less tech savvy of us (then again it might be my age). Although not as portable IMO the feature set of the air 2 is a better choice for beginners than the Mavic mini (collision avoidance a must for the novice). The extras in the the fly more combo make it a no brainer if your budget allows. Definitely not a toy, common sense is a must!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI honestly couldn’t be more pleased with this. I bought it to replace my Holystone HS720 which in reality is a good drone. The thing is, the Mavic Air 2 makes that look like a kiddies toy. Nearly impossible to crash with tones of clever features which make your videos look amazing. I easily get 30+ mins flying time or of the battery and it’s so quiet compared to other drones.
If this is you reaching reviews looking for a drone, get this or the new DJi mini 2. Both have the same feature set but the mini looks like it may suffer in the wind. This doesn’t BTW.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGot this after all the hype I’d seen on YouTube and the rave reviews it was getting from photographers and film makers. Was not disappointed.

Battery life is good, but if you can stretch to it then I’d advocate getting the fly more combo so you don’t have to keep charging one battery.

Comes with sore propellers and everything you else you need to get flying right away. Really easy to use and I’m loving flying it.

    Image quality is spot on!

After few hours of flying I can definitely say that the battery’s (which I’ve buy’d 3 of them, smart ones) DOESN’T hold a charge for more then 15 minutes with good weather conditions. Also DON’T BUY THE BAG which they put it in the deal but invest in a proper case for it. Overall, the pictures, videos are great and manoeuvrability is lovely.

I purchased this drone over than one month ago and, I had a chance to use it several times. Due to the weather conditions, I could not be able to gain more experience. As a result of my limited flights, I felt the quality of camera, drone body and software. All these segments are designed for increasing user experience. I recorded overall 32 minutes flight time. Weather conditions and modes of drone ( sport, normal, tripod) will effect your flight time. However, 2 additional batteries which comes with fly more package is a good opportunity for nonstop photo and video experience. If you are a person who likes to go hiking or camping over night in wild areas, it is a good thing to have several batteries. (Note: Please charge your batteries before the usage. Otherwise battery level of your batteries will decrease day by day) I also want to mention that new controller comes with the Mavic Air 2. This controller has a solid design and provides better experience when we compared to the previous type of controllers. I just experienced connection failure one time and it caused by rocks and hills. Therefore, it was my fault. Even the provided range of drone, you have to care about sight of your drone. Lastly, Nd filters which comes with the fly more combo are very useful and you can pick one of them according to strength of light. There are 3 option on the ND filter as 16, 64, 256.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have been blown away by how good this drone is. Flying is so simple, it has loads of cool features that make filming and photographing really easy. The quality of images is great. Battery life is not good, but with a second back up battery it’s acceptable. That’s my only criticism. I’ve been very happy with everything else about it. I have been flying drones for six years now and there is no doubt that this is the best. This incredibly stable platform flies itself leaving you to concentrate on getting the best out of the amazing camera. In the default mode if you take your hands off the controls it stays where it is allowing you to set up the camera for the perfect shot. If you use one of the quick shot modes, or a follow me mode, it once again becomes an autonomous camera platform. Too many features to detail. Look at the many videos extolling the virtues of the Mavic Air 2. I took my time, looked at all of the alternatives for a while. I didn’t rush into choosing this drone before I clicked the buy button. I’m so glad I did. Negatives? Not much really. The batteries are a bit slow to charge, but I guess it prolongs the lifetime. I have difficulty seeing the display on my phone even with the brightness on full. I’ll have to get some sort of shade to help. I wonder if polarizing specs might help. If I find out, I’ll add to my post later.

I just received it today and tested it indoors meeting room. It has extremely stable camera. Other reviewers mentioned activation issue. This one activated immidiately and also updated firmware.

Just one tip: The USB-C and USB Mirco RC cables are in a box but Lightening cable for iPhone is tucked under the phone clamp in the Remote Controller. The remote controller joy-sticks are tucked at the bottom of the remote controller. Many accessories are in the zip pocket inside the carry bag.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve come from a 3DR Solo with a GoPro Hero 3+, which in comparison to the Mavic Air 2 the 3DR Solo was a monster which I had to lug around ii a massive backpack, took a good 15-20mins before i’d even get it off thre ground. I wanted something a lot smaller, good battery life and took great video and photo footage. After many hours watching and reading reviews II took the plunge. This ticked every box I was after. I can be from bag to air in just a few minutes.

It’s tiny, you just don’t realise untiil you get it in the hand. I stashed the drone and controller in my glovebox to nip out and take a quick flight. It fly great, it’s a rocket in sports mode, and super stead iin Tripod mode. The selection of shot’s is great, ii’m still to fully get through everything.

It’s an expensive drone, but the fly more kit is great value over just the standard drone, all the extras are worth the upgrade, especially just for the batteries as they are 105 each (at tiime of review) from Amazon, so if you were to get more batteries down the line this way you’d be getting a load of extra useful kit!

The app is great as it shows you no fly zones and restricted airspace, although these should be checked before flying anyway. Flight log history and flight replay is great to see. These are probably things that have been around on DJI but new to me.

Only downside iis the controller is pretty big when compared to the drones size and the clamp for the device is liimited to mobile phones so ii’ll need to purchase a clamp for a tablet for the extra screen space as icons can get a little cramped together by the battery icon/gps corner.

A top drone so far, would reccomend. Hopefully it doesn’t fly away on me!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe Mavic Air 2 is a great drone. The battery life easily achieves approximately 28 minutes and having 2 spares in the Flymore Pack is great. The Mavic Air 2 camera is also capable of capturing some stunning video footage, especially with the use of the included ND filters.

Unfortunately, DJI have missed out the Airsense feature from the UK market at this time. Currently only units shipped to North America receive this. Dji have not made this clear and I believe it to be a very underhand move – considering the price hasn’t been reduced to reflect this missing feature.

I would be very careful about buying a drone in the UK without this feature, as upcoming CAA/EU regulations may impose heavy flight restrictions on the use of this drone without Airsense or proper EU classification – thus potentially rendering this drone useless in the next couple of years.

My advice is to hold off until DJI remedy their supply problems and properly outfit the Mavic Air 2 with Airsense – whilst at the same time allowing for the new regulations to come in force so the Air 2 can receive official classification to be used with minimal restrictions.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWow. What a brilliant piece of kit. Can’t recommend this highly enough! The ocusync 2.0 is phenomenal, I’ve no idea how it can be so good! At an ideal location, you can fly this thing 6km easy and you’ll have to turn around before losing signal because you won’t want to run out of battery! (At night you see this thing for miles due to its bright light so you can keep it in line of sight). I fly this out in the countryside with low interference or obstacles in the way, but even in built up areas it performs seamlessly well, giving you clear footage from the drone – and will travel pretty far too, although I haven’t tested exactly how far. It’s battery life is good, you won’t get 34 minutes, more like 25-30 I’d say. Camera is very good, does everything you want it to really (unless you’re a professional drone photographer in which case there are some better cameras out there).

It has some really cool features built in, the follow me mode is so useful to get some brilliant shots, what I will say though is that it can only handle speeds of up to 12-15mph before it starts to lose you and then it will eventually give up and just hover until you pilot it again – brilliant for filming me on my mountain bike (unless I’m bombing down a hill in which case I’ll realise it’s at the top of the hill waiting for me..). The sensors work well in follow me mode when going straight forward (I’ve seen it dodge and weave right through trees) but it’s less good at doing this when it’s parallel to you!

As far as flying goes, it’s very easy to control although in sport mode it’s very fast (gets up to 42mph in low wind) which can make it harder to control when it’s close to you. Thankfully it’s got 3 modes to chose from and flip it into tripod mode when learning the flying controls if it’s near you or any buildings etc… It handles wind exceptionally well and I have full confidence that it’ll always come home (I’ve had some tough winds of 35+ mph and although it struggled against the wind it powered through – drone was in sports mode of course!)

I’d recommend getting yourself a new, up to date micro SD card with lots of storage for this drone, as high quality files take up a lot of space and 4K videos can be difficult for some old SD cards to handle!

The travel bag is a very nice way of storing all the various bits and bobs you’ve got along with the drone, and is very useful for taking it out with you on walks etc.. Everything fits in nicely and you can be sure it’s nicely protected.

All in all a fantastic drone, easily the best I’ve ever owned and I’d definitely recommend it!

(Make sure to fly responsibly at all times, and check where you’re flying it to make sure you can safely do so!)

Amazing drone by DJI, had a mavic mini as my first drone and loved but wanted more. Firstly the drone comes well presented in the box and includes a slick carry bag. The drone is easy to setup (ensure you attach the props correctly matching grey tab to grey rotor) and fly more so worth it with extra batteries, etc. The drone is very well made, compact when folded, controller not so compact but nice to hold with phone sitting at the top. Camera is fantastic for daylight (night shots poor and grainy) flight wise I get about 30 mins from each battery. collision sensors as give that extra confidence just a shame it doesn’t have side or above sensors (need to go pro for more). The follow function (trace) works really well however i avoid parallel mode since there are no crash sensors on the sides. Out in the countryside over fields only I managed to fly 3300m (120m up) before losing signal so flies far but doubt you would get the claimed full distance in the UK.
I also purchased the refresh insurance…worth it for confidence and cheaper replacement if crash/write off.

    Pros are
DJI app is intuitive and easy to use
    Build quality
    Easy to fly
    Safety features (RTH, collision sensors)
    Battery life
    4k Camera for video/photo (day)
    Compact
    Flies fast (41mph)
    3 axis gimball
    Pre set shoot options
    Active track

    Cons
    Expensive toy
    Camera quality at dusk/night
30fps max if in HDR mode
    No top/side collision sensors

Overall I give 4 stars as feel for the price you should get a few more features so great but room for improvement

The mavic air 2 like most drones requires you to have a license due to weight, 9 a year and online exam you need to pass

Golden Review Award: 59 From Our UsersAfter buying the mini as my first drone and being a little disappointed with the receiver, I jumped all over this when I heard about it. Unfortunately the weather changed the day it arrived here in Scotland but I’ve still managed to get out a few days and I absolutely love it.

It’s fast, responsive, handles wind very well, the range has been phenomenal especially when your out in the country, I’m just having a lot of fun with it while learning all the features and good video setups. So far my top speed was around 35mph in good conditions with a little wind, very impressive and fun to watch.

The camera suits my needs, I’m no photographer and it’s purely a hobby passion of mine and so far it’s been great, I’m still getting used to all the features and what works best, but so far been very impressed with the results and enjoying what it has to offer, which is quite a lot.

The battery life, while nowhere near the 34 mins, is still very close to 30 most of the time, so with the fly more combo kit your getting just shy of an hour 30 in the air.

They’ve also recently added Ipad support which is fab and the higher resolutions to the quickshots, I just hope one day we might see waypoints which it lacks currently unfortunately.

As for how it sounds, well it’s a drone, so it’s still not going to sneak up on anyone, but it’s certainly much quieter than the mini and isn’t all that bad in my opinion.

Can’t wait for lockdown to break so I can really get out somewhere nice to fly but already I can say it’s been worth every penny.

Golden Review Award: 44 From Our UsersI got the fly more combo and was surprised to find what looked like just the travel bag inside. However everything was packed neatly in the bag. Some of the parts were in the top pocket, while others were in smaller boxes under travel bag. Took some time to find everything and put the drone together after peeling at least a dozen stickers. The initial battery charge took about 1hr. I really like that the battery and remote can be charged at the same time the same power supply. Another 15-20 min to register, download updates, and scan through the app. Then I went for flight outside. I was very excited flying the drone, and its fairy straight forward. The weekend cannot come fast enough. There were no issues with registration, faulty or missing parts.

Something I noticed is that the remote will charge my phone. After more than and hour of flying, I still had a nearly full phone battery. That is a killer feature. Be careful with the sport mode as is very fun and disables the obstacle sensors. I’ve managed to send my drone into a bush doing a low pass turn. The drone was fine, but one propeller was slightly damaged; pair of small cracks. Quickly replaced it, just to be safe, and I was back in the air. The drone is sturdy.

Batteries are smart. As in they will self-discharge if not used to under 50% for storage and maintenance. Extremely useful feature, but also means that you will need to charge them before flight. I certain amount of planning is required I suppose, like checking the weather.

Golden Review Award: 91 From Our UsersI already own a Phantom 3 and a Mavic Air. Two years after Mavic Air, I thought that
Mavic Air 2 should be the best mis-range drone from DJI that offers flagship features, so
it’s time to upgrade my gears. It just arrived today with 2 days delivery, really fast to get the product and I couldn’t wait to fly and test it right away once I got it in my hand!! After an hour of flying it, I have to say that this drone has far exceeded my high expectations. Below is some feedback I observed with this drone
after my actual test, and I’ll update it after some more flights.
The overall design of MA2 is quite compact and portable, only a little bigger than my
original Mavic Air. The smart controller has a completely new design, it’s much bigger
than my Mavic Air controller(a bit chunkier), but the new controller does feel much better
to hold in the hands, and I like the way it holds my iPhone x plus. But you’ll need a longer
USB-C to Lightning cable for any iPad use.
The actual flight time of MA2 is about 31 mins, which seriously doubles the flight time of
Mavic Air. It also flies so much quieter than Mavic Air.
Not like the WIFI connection of Mavic Air, the live transmission of Mavic Air 2 was very
clear and stable due to its new transmission system.
Comparing with Mavic Air, MA2 is very responsive to controls and I can barely notice
    any latency.
Overall the drone is very stable up in the air. This is why I can’t resist DJI drones. They
    are so good and stable.
I expected the camera to be a bit better, but the HDR image and video modes have
blown me away!! The footage shot by it is quite lovely. The color and contrast of the
footage is even a matched rival of Mavic 2 series. I felt that this drone can be a Mavic 2
zoom alternative, but with cheaper price.
Haven’t got time to test all the intelligent features, but so far, the enhanced ActiveTrack
is quite impressive. I’ve also tried the 8k hyperlapse, but the file is just too big, haven’t
got time to deal with it yet.
Overall, I’m really happy with this drone. Relly a winner from DJI that is suitable for both

Golden Review Award: 74 From Our UsersI’d been looking at the DJI Mavic Mini when this Drone launched (no pun intended) in April. On paper this seems to be a great package with good battery life/range, good camera, useful automated tracking and pretty compact. I’m still very much getting to terms with this and I’ve limited opportunities to practice during the lockdown but the few short flights I’ve done have shown me this is a very sophisticated aircraft but at the same time simple to handle. I expect great things, but remember safety first at all times and then the Mavic Air 2 can’t fail to impress. I’ll update with more when I’ve more flight experience

Golden Review Award: 48 From Our UsersJust had first fly of Mavic air 2
I’m glad I got the combo set as the case is really good and charging it without plugging into the drone directly is good.
I previously had a Mavic mini which I liked but the wi fi connection constantly had connection issues when it goes further than a few 100m.
This one so far is excellent! It’s a lot bigger and heavier than the mini. Noticeably a bigger and different class of sky beast.
Having fitted the 4 stealth propellers and charged it up (and waited for the obvious initial firmware update to the drone) we are off!
It was fairly windy and the drone did not show any signs of bother whatsoever.
The blades sound quite quiet which I was surprised about and it’s great.
On first flight the battery lasted about 26 mins before coming home and flew about 9 km.
It is very fast and the obstacle detection is excellent.
The battery was around 22% left then it returned home and landed. Then I downloaded the pictures and videos.

Overall very impressed. It’s a serious flying machine and noticeably better than the mini.
Camera quality is excellent and the HDR is a noticeable improvement.
As to the range I’m not sure about the 6km claim! I got about 800m away and it had a few connection issues so hopefully this will not be an issue going forward on subsequent flights. Perhaps 6 times while flying it said antena signal week which I wasn’t expecting.
Maybe it’s because it’s brand new and will be fixed in further updates! Fingers crossed!
Get one I doubt you will be disappointed unless it fly’s away randomly!
