Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI use this rail with my cordless DeWalt circular saw for cutting sheathing ply or ripping down wide door linings out of 25mm plywood. It does exactly what it says on the tin, perfect for cutting straight lines. If you’re like me and don’t read the instructions though just make sure to set the depth of the blade to just below the material you’re cutting, otherwise the blade will start to drift in the cut and pinch against the rail (it does specify this in the instructions)

2 fixed together gives great scope for cutting large sheets of wood.

If you already have DeWalt tools that can use a guide rail then this is a no-brainer. But if you are choosing the rail first, then the important thing to know about the DeWalt is that it is not compatible with other rails, it is double sided ( meaning you can use the rail in both directions ), and it does not stick too harshly to the material you are cutting.
The latter needs some explanation. The rail does resist movement when it is on the wood but it is still easy to move it for precise alignment. So it’s easy to align but you definitely need the rail clamps to hold it in place.
Buy the size you need rather than using joints!
These things are amazing. They give you perfect cuts, slots or whatever you’re doing over huge distances. Holding the saw, router, or whatever, in perfect alignment. So much better than using a straight edge.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat track, having 2 different cutting edges is a bonus as I use one side for rougher first fix type cuts and can leave it get fairly beat up, and the other side I keep in good order and only use for precision cuts with fine tooth blades. Would also recommend buying the protective bag that fits the rails perfectly.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersBrilliant system, and fantastically accurate… I’ve been using the set up for a good few months, and am full of praise for it… however…

The first time you use the rail you have to cut the black rubber edge strip so it aligns perfectly with the saw blade. Which is fine until you discover that it’s not possible to cut right to each end without the saw dropping out of the rail, and so potentially chopping the ends of the rubber strip incorrectly. An incorrectly cut strip will render the saw completely inaccurate. If you have two rails, then you can connect them together and avoid the issue, but with one rail, unless you rig up some other form of guide it’s highly likely you’ll do it wrong. And when replacement strips are a rip-off – costing over 20 for 3m of rubber – you’ll want to do it correctly.

Speaking of rip-offs, the rail clamps are stupidly expensive, and I’ve never once had an issue with the guide slipping, so I wouldn’t recommend buying them!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Usershis is a good bit of kit before you use this guide rail you must trim the black strips before you start cutting your material I would recommend this company I also recommend you go on you tube to see what this saw is capable of doing I did
