Fantastic magnet drill. Clamps well to steel. I drilled qty 60 16mm holes in my steel barn build – upto 3mm thick steel. A lot of holes at height and vertical face. It was clamping to steel 3mm thick and when on 1.6mm steel I put 2mm steel plate at the back.
Value for money ! Well pleased with the drill all good !! Cant go wrong
The locking device is fragile
A lot of play/slack in the fixing of the chuck
Could it be made lighter ?
Reversing the quill effects the locking leve
A good quality product robust all round all tools for setting up inc . I would recomend this drill to al diy fans a brill tool to use should have got this mag drill many yes ago. A good case for storage come with the mag drill
Command lever is a bit “sticky” due to a rack and pinion mounted very tight so drilling smoothly is very hard

I like very fast delivery and message. Evomag42 is simple use and strong drill. Only fluid nippel is littel damage.

He can’t praise it enough! Saves so much time and effort the built in magnets and stupidly strong and keep the drill perfectly aligned to where you set it to ensure prescision steel drilling!
Certainly worth the money and cheaper then other online shops! Haven’t personally had the chance to!

It does what it says on the tin. Drills holes in steel. I’ve only just started using it so don’t yet know its quirks. Looks well made of the right materials.
Evolution Evomag42 very well built, strong and long lasting. There is just something that Evolution could add where the the magnet remains locked in a magnetised stationary position and the body of drill being able to swivel 360 degrees would be a tremendous help and be advantegous
I weld professionally for an engineering company & have access to some real heavy duty kit & this is no exception.
Very pleased with the power of this piece of kit & it doesn’t suffer from some of the almost impossible safety devices that doesn’t allow you to operate it even when it’s got a perfectly flat position.
Very useful in 240v as I fabricate in my spare time.
