The installation process was very straightforward, and the arm comes with everything you need to get it set up quickly. The build quality is excellent, with sturdy materials that feel like they’ll last a long time. The arm is also highly adjustable, so you can position your monitor exactly where you want it for optimal viewing.
The tall pole is especially helpful for people like me who have taller desks or need to mount their monitor higher up. It provides the extra height I need to get my monitor at the perfect level for me.
Very sturdy mount with a fantastic range of motion. I use it on a very heavy 32 inch monitor and it’s had no issues holding it. The only issue is it can be quite hard to squeeze into tight places or get flush against a wall.
I have expensive monitors and I didn’t want to risk damaging them due to a cheap stand, of which there are a lot on Amazon.
Installation is a little tricky at first, but once you get your head around it, it’s fine.
Monitors DO NOT droop/fall, this is something you can adjust on each arm at the top end of the arm.
My only critique is that you do not get the same degree of tilt range downside, as upside.
One thing that really stood out to me was the quality of the construction. This monitor arm is solid and sturdy, and it easily supports my large monitor without any wobbling or sagging. I also love the range of motion that the arm provides – it’s really easy to adjust the height and tilt of the monitor to find the perfect viewing angle.
Unfortunately, I did receive a broken extension piece with my arm, but I was really pleased with the customer service that Amazon provided. They offered to replace the piece or give me a partial refund of 25 – which I thought was a really fair solution.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Ergotron LX Arm to anyone who is looking for a high-quality monitor arm. It’s a great product that provides excellent value for money, and the customer service from Amazon was top-notch. If you’re in the market for a monitor arm, this one is definitely worth considering!
I gave 4 stars because it is stiff to move but this means you feel it can hold up heavy monitor. I bought the laptop holder to put on which works well. I was afraid it wouldnt support a heavy laptop but it is holding. It does require some room behind but means my table is clear for all sort of things. Its money worth and if you spread the cost over 5years it does sound that bad. It sure beat buying all the little accessories which is only last for a short time.
Had a 35 monitor arm previously which held the monitor up but was rather limiting on motion. Not this arm, this arm is amazing! Only needs one person to install, super simple to put together and fine tuning the tension is a doddle.
Looks good in a nice matte black and has an incredible range of motion. Still haven’t tried the cable tidy function but it looks super easy to use and hide your input and power lead.
Got it for my 22hd Cintiq display, adds so much flexibility to my workspace! I bought a used one and came in very good condition!

This is a brilliant dual monitor stand and well it should be for the price. You get what you pay for though, this really is worth the money and I have no regrets about spending this type of money. At the moment I have a 27″ monitor and a 24″ monitor. I am upgrading my monitors in the coming months looking at 2x 34″ monitors.
The stand is very stable, with two claps attaching to the desk surface. I had everything set up in under 30 minutes, it’s very straightforward to set up.
I would recommend buying this over any other monitor arm. I purchased another brand which cost 80 and after 5 months the hinge which holds the monitor completely gave up and would fall down every few hours.(monitor was brought with the weight the other brand could handle in mind)
With this arm you can tighten the hinge and it has a much higher weight capacity to start with, As I only have had this arm a short while i can say it doesn’t degrade but based on the quality of the build I’m sure this will last years to come.
I’ve been using this monitor mount for a 34″ ultrawide monitor for nearly a year now and can honestly say its been a pleasure from the day it was installed. The clamp for the desk is well made and looks smart without taking up a lot of the desk space, definitely a lot less than the original desk stand. The spring weight can be easily adjusted with an allen key to stop the monitor from dropping down under its own weight and can be set to hold it still but still be assisted when lifting the monitor by hand. Very recommended if you have a nice monitor. Would buy agai
For reference, my heavier monitor was the 27” Asus XG27UQ UHD 144Hz AS. The feel of the arms feel like it could handle something heavier with no problems, assuming that the arms are rated for them.
Finally decided that I’d try these Ergotron arms (the dual option) and was immediately taken aback at how heavy and dense every single part of the arms were. These things feel like machined metal and although I still feel the price was steep, I can’t help but still feel it was somehow worth the money. As these things are not gas assisted, they should hopefully last a lifetime.
Installation was incredibly easy, with the clamp option already pre assembled to the base. I made the mistake of thinking I had a defective product due to the arms not being able to move once you attach it to the monitors without attaching to the base, but noticed a small fine print saying that adjustments only work once the arms are actually mounted to the base with the monitor. And lo and behold after putting them on they adjusted just fine.
Would definitely recommend, assuming ergotron don’t mess with the production.
It was awkward setting up but then I was dealing with a rather large screen; make sure you have someone to help! When I first set up it drooped all over the place so I thought I had made a mistake. A little perseverance, tightening and tightening again it will ‘grab’. I do think it could do with clearer instructions, they are a bit vague but got there in the end.
A few days later and no signs of any drooping. Very pleased with the reclaimed desk space and the monitor sits at perfect viewing angle. Much tidier than having the standard stand and looks very good.
These are great quality monitor stands. I ordered two so I could have complete flexibility with my dual monitors (my desk is next to a wall so the dual mount stand would have been limited in range of movement which is why I chose two singles). It was a bit fiddly figuring out how to loosen up the tension on the joints, and which position the arm angle direction should go, but once they were set correctly, my screens move with ease. Very happy with the purchase.
I have tried some cheaper monitor stands from Amazon first, but none have been good enough. Either wobbly at the base, or the arm sagging with the weight of my Samsung G7 curved monitor. This Ergotron LX was very easy to set up and fit on my desk with the C-clamp. I bought the white/beige colour, but it also comes in chrome and black variants. Very solid base, no wobbling. The motion during adjustments feels smooth and the monitor remains solid placed in any position or angle.
This unit is much more expensive than many of the other options on Amazon, but honestly, it’s so well made it’s worth the money. Remember the old proverb that if you buy cheap, you buy twice.
Given up on multiple relative cheaper arms, I want to give it ago after read reviews and watched youtube videos to demonstrate this arm. It is expensive, but I think it worths the price. Well built and looks nice for a matte black finish. Easy to build, major parts just need simple assembly, takes about 10-20 mins, most of the time spent on adjusting the angle and tensions.
If you have heavy screens, I suggest to buy this one, no need to buy the arm for a single screen if you have two screens and worried about the strength (i thought about this too), it seems to work pretty well so far.
I was doubtful at first of this product and all others like it. I have a 34″ display and was apprehensive about mounting it to an arm but all doubts evaporated once I set it up and felt its rigidity. My only complaint is that the tilt mechanism is a bit sticky and required some wiggling back and forth to get my screen perfectly level.
It comes well packaged and is intuitive to assemble. Some cable ties are included to supplement the inbuilt cable tray with plenty of space to hide away power, DP and USB cable. Some cable tie points on the back of the stand would have been cool but easy to just tie onto the vertical bar.
Wish I had bought the all black one but whatever, no reason to affect my rating.
As I’m sure many other reviewers have commented, the unit is well-built, sturdy and easy to assemble and disassemble. I repeatedly put it up and pulled it apart whilst trying to optimise my positioning. The arms also stay where they’re put.
It has two inflexible aspects:
1. It cannot raise a screen above a standard laptop screen without packing the gap between the desk and the base. I would have expected this feature for three-screen set-ups.
2. It struggles a bit with desks against walls when one wants the screens against the walls too. It’s a problem with all mounts, but another hinge in the lower arm would help, to ‘pack them down’ a bit.
These are just things to beware before purchase if they affect you. I am still happy with my purchase.
Was holding out for the amazon basic one but was out of stop. Splashed the extra 20-25 for this brand. I had previously tried a 40 model and it failed so was sent back.
This monitor arm is almost perfect.
It comfortably holds my new LG 38 monitor with adjustable tension, sleek and low profile.
Only negatives are that cable management could be improved. it gets your cables to the post but then lets them dangle to go behind the desk. il be adding a cable sleeve for that.
Also id advise some sacrificial wood for the desk clamps otherwise you may have a dented desk!
This thing should last many years and I would advise spending the extra on this over cheaper alternatives
Something that isnt overly clear is that you actually get two arm mounting options in one with this. Either just the upper part used if you want a shorter outreach from bracket or use both to get the full span. Also need to use both to get it as close to wall as possible – should be able to achieve 11cm to the bracket then add your screen depth.
Having spent quite a bit of time browsing for the right monitor arm for my 2 27″ curved Samsung monitors I made the decision to purchase this on a gamble as there weren’t many reviews however the build quality and design was exactly what I was looking for.
I’ve spent a bit of time fiddling round with the arm mounts for both monitors and I have to say I’m not in the slightest concerned about the monitors dropping or getting damaged.
The build quality and sturdiness of the arm mount is superb with the option of two mounting brackets – one with a clamp and the other a screw for use with the cable hole in your table.
I’ve used the clamp and it holds steady, no wobble or movement in the slightest.
Movement is smooth and the ability to tilt and spin the monitor is fantastic.
Have to say – great product by Ergotron. Very impressed.
I needed a way to lower my monitor as I have been suffering from neck and shoulder pain from looking up at my monitor for years. The Ergotron LX Desk Mount seemed a reasonably inexpensive way to resolve this, (considering it cost less than 3 trips to the physio which I’ve been having to do regularly of late).
Out of the box it’s heavy, feels well built and packaged nicely. I found the instructions a little confusing but it’s fairly clear what to do if you give it a minute. I just clamped on the base to the top shelf of my desk, screwed the vesa mount (with the arm attached) on to the back of my monitor and mounted this piece on to the base and job done. It came with an additional arm link which I’m not using at the moment but I can see it will be great if and when I get a 2nd monitor. For now, My monitor is lower than it was but it’s easy to move up down left right and rotate. Job done.
I saw a Linus Tech Tips link for this arm and despite being a little put of by the price could see it was an excellent product and found a YouTube video on it that showed me the product. I wasn’t wrong. Really Really happy with this!
Very easy to assemble one piece has the tall pole attached to a desk clamp which I clamped to the table (It does include other optiona than the clamp if you want to drill and bolt this through the desk but can’t see a need). Then another arm which is screwless slots onto that pole in seconds. Then I screwed my monitor onto the third arm with the 4 Vesa mounting screws and slipped that onto the arms and that was it. Done. You can adjust a silver ring on the tall pole with an allen key to move the bracket higher or lower on the pole and adjust the tension so your monitor is moveable but doesn’t sag with a second allen key. Took us 10 minutes.

Potentially cost prohibitive for some people but you really do get what you pay for and if you can save or stretch for it, it really is worth it.
Summary: An excellent design and high quality item which is a rarity amongst a sea of mass produced rubbish. Maybe the price should be a tiny bit lower but considering the sheer weight of metal used and the design time they must have put into it to keep it sleek yet functional and everything included is still worth it.
If you need a monitor arm don’t make my mistake with a cheaper option unless say you had a 15″ LCD that weighs the same as a feather or don’t value your screen and buy this one. Hope it helps!
The Ergotron LX comes in three sections, the desk clamp and pole, an extension arm and the adjustable arm.
The desk clamp can be adjusted depending on the thickness of your desk, I didn’t need to do this, so it was just a case of positioning the clamp on my desk and tightening the screw.
If your desk is fixed to the wall, you can drill a hole through your desk and mount the desk clamp that way, you would need access to the underside of the desk to tighten the screw.
You then place the extension arm onto the pole. Then it’s time to install the arm onto your monitor. The VESA mount allows you to rotate your monitor from portrait to landscape mode. If you don’t need this functionality, you will need to insert a screw into the VESA mount to stop it rotating. You need to do this before you attach the monitor, you can’t adjust it afterwards.
The VESA mount attaches to the monitor using four thumb screws, unfortunately the VESA mount can’t be detached from the adjustable arm. So, when it comes to attaching the arm to the extension arm it is very cumbersome, especially with a heavy iMac.
The next stage is to adjust the tension of the arm, the only adjustment I needed to make was to the height adjustment. This is done by inserting the supplied tool in the top of the adjustable arm and turning it clockwise to tighten it up, as the iMac is heavy (9.2Kg about the same weight as a West Highland Terrier!) I had to turn it allot. You can also adjust the side to side and Tilt motion.
Finally, it’s time to do the cable management, the extension arm has a plastic tray which you lay the cables on and then clip to the underside of the arm. I found this a bit fiddly there is not much room and you need to be careful you’re not trapping any cables. I was only installing a power cable and an ethernet cable, I tried to add a USB cable but there was not enough room.
In the adjustable arm, the cables are hooked to the underside of the arm using cable ties. This is easier but you need to make sure your happy with your cable management before tightening the ties. The ties attach to hooks on the underside of the arm so you can replace them at a future date.
In conclusion, I love how the Ergotron looks and it feels good quality with all metal construction. I can adjust the position of the iMac with no problems and it doesn’t move once put in position. The main downside is the fact that the VESA mount can’t be detached from the adjustable arm, making installation cumbersome if you have a heavy monitor.
The instruction book is not great, the tension bolt for the arm didn’t make much sense as to the location to me, I tried watching the video but there is no sound making it pretty pointless so ended up watching an assembly and review on YouTube to figure it out.
Thankfully managed to get round these issues and assemble the arm. The metal is very solid and extremely well made and feels very solid. Bought an Alienware AW3418DW and once the tension was adjusted it holds the monitor up fine, the movement is very smooth and the range of motion is great. Overall I’m very happy with it, just a shame they skimped on the plastics otherwise this would have received a 5 star review.
I would say it’s maybe not the strongest model out there, but if you were using this for a lighter weight graphics tablet, or for a PC monitor or a TV I think it would be perfectly adequate.
I am more than satisfied with this purchase. I was looking for quality monitor arm to hold my 27″ monitor on a windowsill and make more free space on the desk. I knew I’ll want move the monitor nearer or further from my face depending what kind of work I’m doing on my desk (working with computer, soldering, building, etc.) and that was one of mine requirements. Also I wanted the arm would save some space behind it because I keep various things on windowsill – soldering station, electronic components, 3d printer filament and a plant :-).
This arm fulfills all my requirements. But I was even more surprised how durable and flexible it is. It is so easy move monitor to the left or right side of my desk. Or raise up and put laptop under it. This came very comfortable because I do not need pack my daughter’s puzzle from my desk but I can only move monitor to one side and work. Also my wife likes keeping monitor on the left side of laptop meanwhile I keep it on the right. With this Ergotron arm it is just a question of seconds to move monitor to any side. And what is most important – it hods the screen well.

The very top won’t bend… I cannot get my pen display to lay any other way than horizontal, I tried a whole load of things, unscrewing various parts, but I couldn’t get it to work. Not even the rotation of the screen…
can lead to lots of adjustments, if the top won’t bend like mine doesn’t that will mean you’ll be unscrewing whatever you mounted multiple times, which is just exhausting – I suppose there are services for this sort of thing so that’s a solutio
It’s fairly easy to set up, looks incredibly substantial and is clearly of superior quality. I have no concerns about its ability to reliably hold the screen. Once mounted, the screen is easy to adjust, featuring swivel, rotate and tilt mechanisms that can all be activated with a minimum of pressure. It’s very handy having a screen on an arm like this, especially when you have multiple monitors as I do.
There’s no doubt that this is the Mercedes of monitor arms. So why only four stars? Well, I regret spending so much on it. Yes it’s substantial and solid, and looks like a top quality device. But once installed you’ll never actually see it, so its external apperance is irrelevant, except for reassuring you when you first get it out of the packaging and set it up.
I have bought a couple of other monitor arms since the Ergotron, and the others I purchased were a fraction of this price. They didn’t look as good, they were perhaps a little more fiddly to set up, but looking back at it now I really can’t justify spending over 125 on this when there are other products available that do basically the same job for a third or even a quarter of that price.
If you have a particularly expensive screen and want absolute assurance that you’ve got the best arm available, and money isn’t really an issue, then definitely buy the Ergotron. For everyone else, I’d strongly suggest looking at cheaper alternatives. They might take you an extra 30 minutes to set up, and won’t give you that warm fuzzy ‘quality’ feeling during the hour you can actually see them, but most of them will do a fine job of mounting your monitor and providing the standard adjustments, and you’ll save a significant amount of money.
Maybe the best use of this Ergotron is as a gift – if I was giving someone an arm for a birthday or Christmas, then the extra feeling of quality would definitely be warranted. For myself though, I’ll definitely not be spending so much again.
the stand holds the monitor in whatever position i leave it in. it occasionally slowly rotates, because my desk is bending under the strain, making the arms not level as so they swivel a little, but thats my desks problem.
the wobble when touching the screen is a bit awkward but you get used to it pretty quickly. i try and rest it on my desk to keep it as still as possible anyway though.
the cable tidy is useful and keeps everything neat.
The mount is a very substantial piece of kit and you can immediately see where much of the costs come from. The next step is positioning – I found this to be key and spent a fair amount of time to get this right. If you have a willing helper then you can move the mount once you assemble it to get an idea of the range of motion but it takes some doing. I cut out a piece of card the same size of my monitor to give me a idea as to how it would all look.
Once you are satisfied then let the drilling begin! With a decent drill it proved no problem to get the holes drilled and the plugs and bolts installed. A set of different screws to cover typical depths for your monitor was provided and my Samsung was affixed to the standard mounting plate without fuss.
Once on the wall I didn’t need to use the allen key at all to tighten the arms as they held the monitor in place without issue. I have put some photos up to show the range of motion you have including a tilt so when placed up high you can tilt the monitor so that it faces downwards.
One tip – to finish things off to hide cables make sure you get decent cable lengths as you need some extra behind the monitor to allow for extension of the arm. I went with a basic long, white, HDMI cable and it has worked well. Same again with the power cable and I was delighted to find you can get longer length figure 8 cables to help with this. I chose this one White 5m Mains Power Cable/Lead by electrosmart ~ 3 Pin Moulded UK Plug to Right Angled IEC C7 Figure 8 along with some trunking to hide everything – D-Line 1D3015WSA 1 m 30 x15 mm Mini Trunking – White this worked really well hiding the power cable plus the HDMI.
In a month or so of use it has been rock solid and I am absolutely delighted with the purchase and feel 5 x stars is entirely justified for this well made monitor wall mount. Highly recommended.

The arm has a 100 x 100 VESA mounting. I needed to also purchase the “Ergotron VESA Bracket Adaptor Kit” (also sold by Amazon) to connect it to the 200 x 100 VESA mounting on my monitor. This was a little bit fiddly, and the screw-holes don’t fully line up, but I got it working, and I’m no handyman!
Before I connected my monitor to the arm, I thought I’d check that the arm actually moved as it should, since I’ve seen a couple of people say that their arm didn’t move, and that Ergotron had told them this was a fault. Well, I couldn’t get the arm to move at all, so I contacted Ergotron support via their website, who quickly wrote back to say that the monitor acts as a counterbalance, and the arm won’t move without it being there. That’s true – as soon as I connected the monitor the arm moved fine.
There are a couple of Allen key holes that you can tighten and loosen to control the stiffness of the arm, for height and tilt adjustment. It’s quite fiddly to get the Allen key into the holes when the whole thing is assembled, especially if you have your desk with its back to a wall, and it would have been easier if these were knobs rather than Allen keys. At least you do get an Allen key with a nice big handle included in the pack, which is good. My advice would be to tighten the Allen keys fairly tight (not quite all the way) before you attach the monitor, because it’s a lot easier to access the Allen key holes before you’ve attached the monitor.
This is a very well constructed arm. Most of the construction being cast aluminium means it is not overly heavy in itself. The box it arrives in is surprisingly small.
All the components are made to a high standard. You get a number of clearly labeled sealed bags containing fittings and allen keys. All you need to complete the assembly is a cross head/phillips/pozidrive/whatever screw driver. You also get a large visual assembly guide. There is a video showing how to assemble the arm properly on the Ergotron website, http://www.ergotron.com/tabid/143/language/en-GB/default.aspx.
That said, assembly is straightforward. Study the instructions and take it slowly, step by step. Mount and secure the upright pole first then on a flat surface attach the monitor to the relevant arm. I had to release all the tension on the mounting plate, see instructions, to be able to do so. After that it’s simply a matter of slotting the two arms onto their respective joints, then adjusting tensions.
Now make sure, before you proceed an further, that your monitor power and video cables are long enough, with about 4-6 inches over for safety, to run through the cable tidies provided.
Now the most important part of the assembly, setting the tensions of the various joints. This is vital, if you want the arm to work properly and safely. The swivel joints are tensioned using tiny grub screws which you adjust using the small allen key provided. Tighten them carefully and slowly till the joint just stops moving, then very slowly untightened in small increments till the movement feels smooth but with slight resistance. Do not over tighten these grub screws. If you do and strip the thread you won’t be able to tension the joint. Plus the hole will need to be re-threaded and a new grub screw fitted. Which will cost and mean you can’t use the arm.
The same care is needed adjusting the spring tensions on the monitor mounting plate and arm. The monitor plate I untightened all the way, as the spring is very strong and supports my 24in monitor without any problem or undue movement. Untighten them till they feel too slack them very gradually retighten till you have smooth movement with slight resistance.
People have said before about this arm that you get what you pay for. That is a fact, if you want a strong, highly adjustable and, more importantly, safe monitor arm, buy this.
My neck pain has now gone, as I can finally get the monitor at a comfortable height. After hours wasted looking at websites that tell you how to adjust monitor/chair height and getting nowhere.
There is also now a large area in front of me that has been freed up and I can move the monitor back out of the way. Which means increased work space that wasn’t available before.
I bought this to place an Intuos 3 at first, and then my Cintiq 22HD as I needed a more ergonomic drawing station due to some problems with my shoulder. I find it’s quite good for sustaining the Cintiq’s weight and does indeed help me with my posture. I just wish the arm went a bit lower as I can’t place it exactly where I’d find it most comfortable due to the pillar that’s under the desk where the arm is mounted which limits the places I can attach it to on my desk. (*)
But that’s my only complaint, just observe the shape and size of the arm really well and decide whether it’s for you or not. It’s really sturdy and useful if you use a tablet. It does wobble a bit, but I minimised this by placing the arm so that it rests in front of the desk itself, as if it were a drawing board.
It’s also pretty cool that this version of the arm has a 3 year warranty (apparently the HD arm is a rebranded version of this, but with a lower warranty). I’ve recommended it to other people whether they were looking for an arm for their monitor or for their tablet and so far they’re all happy with their purchase too!
(*)There is an extension for this arm available for sale, but due to the way it attaches to the arm I’m fairly sure it would actually make the tablet sit higher rather than lower, so it’s not suitable for my needs, but it’s worth mentioning for everyone else.
It was easy to assemble and the tall pole is fantastic. The bottom of my 22inch screen is a clear 10inches above the desk and I could raise it to 16 inches above.
I find the screen (arm) easy to adjust; simple to push away, raise or lower. I have a wall to the left side of the mount and simply arranged for the arm to swing to the right side when pushed away – no bashing the wall.
The desk clamp is equally robust and there’s even a mount supplied that you can pass through a ‘cable hole’ in most office desk furniture. I’ve not used that so can’t comment as to whether you could pass cables through in addition to having the mount.
I spent more time trying to persuade the mounting screw to come free from my LCD screen’s original stand than putting this class stand together.
By installing this I worked out why I had eye pain – my screen was too far away. These are the reasons I ‘love’ this item.
Bought 2 of these arms, it was great at first until after assembling I realised the parts didn’t quite fit tight enough and was wobbling a little. There’s actually no way to correct this as it seems spare margin was intention from the design. There is a screw provided to tighten, however in doing so the product would not move smoothly so this would rather defeat the purpose. Tension-wise, it’s great. Adjusting the tension will hold the monitor in place and I like the fact the tilt will stay in place even while adjusting height! Note that due to the placement of the adjusting screw, you’d have to rotate the monitor out of place while adjusting tension… In the end the slight wobbly “feature” annoyed me more so than anything else so this had to go back.
For the price bracket, it’s not bad, just not for me. I ended up spending 33% more to get a better monitor arm (in my opinion) instead.
I accept many people would baulk at the idea of paying out a large additional cost to mount a Computer Monitor.
The positive view is it gives you the ultimate viewing angle for your screen. No more craning your neck to see the screen; you can move it to any comfortable position, even have a TV watching position as well as the more formal computer desk position, obviously it depends on the location; etc.
The technicalities of the arm, it is well made, finished in polished aluminium (so looks good!) including all the fixing mounts, whether you screw it to the wall or just use the bracket to mount it to a desk.
I use a 24″ Acer LED/LCD Monitor and it works really well. where as a monitor placed on its inclusive foot only offers a 90 degree view, but this is very inflexible as you have to position yourself to the monitor. Using an arm you chose how and where you sit,whilst moving the monitor to where you can comfortably view it.
Finally I could see because of the manufacturing quality that it should last a lifetime, so over the life of a few monitors the relative cost comes down to become a good investment.
It was well worth reading the reviews on amazon us, as well as here, to get an idea on the installation of the LX Wall Mount. I ordered at the same time a Silverline socket set which made the job of tightening the bolts into the drilled holes for the mount plate, much easier. Given a decent drill, it was a 10 minute job to mount the arm on a masonry wall.
As other reviewers have stressed, spend a minute measuring and marking the out the height (from the floor) you want the mount plate installed. Placed too high and you may struggle to lower your monitor nearer your desk.
The only reason the product itself doesnt get full 5 stars is the usual pound sterling premium over the American price. This is $100 on amazon US, and 106 on the Uk site here. Still, better value than it used to be, and its a monitor wall mount that does its job effectively.
Whatever did I do without these? They are one of the best items I have ever bought. Extremely well made, easy to fit and easy to move your monitors into any position. I have a disabled right arm and even I managed to fit them on my own. They are heavy, and I was worried about fitting my two 24inch benq monitors myself without help. But it was easy peasy. I fitted the clamp part to my desk first. Then fitted one arm to one monitor and lifted it up and slid it onto the pole. I did the same with the other monitor. I was confused before this stage because before you place them on the pole it appears as if the monitor is going to face the ceiling. But don’t worry, the weight of the monitor, once on the pole, brings it facing you. I have them arranged so that the top of the monitors are the same height as the top of my head. Hurrah, no more backache.
I was interested in a mounting arm for my desk top PC and looked at all the offerings on Amazon and agonised about the price and the specs….this one was slightly costlier than many others but I have a similar mount at office. So thought- what the hell, basically you get what you pay for and therefore why not go with a better product even if it is more expensive. I have to say this is the best- it came earlier than scheduled- all nicely packed. Assembly is minimal and unfussy- and the construction is really solid and exudes quality and finish. It is VERY strong and stable and is one of those things you buy once for life. I have no negative remarks whatsoever- normally I hate writing reviews- but this is for those of you who like me were vacillating between which to buy and whether to buy at all in the first place…buy this one. You will never regret it and it will look fab on your desk.
I’m using this to support my new 24″ screen and it handles it excellently.
The instructions state that the wall support needs to have it’s bolts embedded in 8cm of concrete, but this isn’t really true: I have my screen (at full extension) supported by the 8cm bolts in 3cm of plyboard, followed by 2 cm of plaster board wall, then 3 cm of brick or breezeblock (different for top & bottom bolt.
Strongly recommend that you put a lot of care into figuring out how high the wall mount should be: it’s quite hard to move the arm before it’s bolted to the wall (it’s under a lot of tension, to be able to stay stationary when under load) and the arm ends up deceptively high compared to where I was expecting. I just attached it where I thought it looked about right and expected I’d have about 8″ of lee-way either side of where I was aiming for the screen to be, but I’ve ended up with the screen at the lowest possible point and only just low enough. – Obviously not a flaw in the product, but hopefully it’ll help someone 🙂 )
