This product was definitely worth the cost. I was able to purchase it on sale and was beyond happy with the overall quality and design. I love the wheels that are on this model. It applies me to move it wherever needed effortlessly. I didn’t even know it would be anything I wanted, but it’s definitely a great added feature that makes this product even more appealing. I also bought the power cord separately because that was the main reason for purchasing this one. I had previously touchless trash bins and because the D batteries were very heavy it ended up breaking the battery cover, essentially rendering it useless and uncleanable. I’m thrilled I purchased the cord. Not only does it make the lid lighter in weight, but it seems to also make it respond quicker and smoother. The design was more compact than I expected however it still holds an appropriate amount of trash. I am extremely happy so far with my purchase and won’t hesitate to consider this brand in the future.

Batteries selling need replacement. Bought a replacement one with adapter. Old one lasted 5 years or longer. Remember to clean it especially if you overstuff the bin. No complaints at all.

Absolutely like this trash can, so convenient and non-messy, easy to change out the trash bag and the carbon filter helps control the smells (although doesn’t totally eliminate them). Highly recommend this product.

I just purchased my third iTouchless trash can. It is easy to throw away trash without touching the trash can at all. The bag is held in place so nicely that the bag never slips and the inside of the can always remains clean. Just be sure to turn the power off when cleaning the lid. I applied too much pressure too many times while it was trying to pop up, and I broke my second one. That is why I got a third one.

I never thought I’d find myself writing a review about a garbage bin… but in all honesty… it exceeded my expectations. The sensor is quite reactive and if you need to keep the lid open longer, you have the manual open and close buttons. It’s much deeper than I expected and can hold twice as much as my previous one. I only need to empty the garbagee every 10 or so days.

The odor stays trapped inside. It’s sleek looking. And there’s a plastic square ring that keeps the bag in place. It seems to be really good quality, for once!

I opted for battery power since it doesn’t come with an AC adapter. I’ve had it for a month now and use it frequently. The batteries haven’t shown any signs of running low just yet.

This garbage can is awesome! It is still going strong after 1.5 years. Everyone who comes to my house asks about it and loves it. My nephew actually told me “if it went missing it wasn’t him.” It’s so easy to use my 2 year old can use it. You really should buy the power cord for so you don’t have to use batteries. I couldn’t recommend this item enough. Best garbage can out there in my opinion!!!

I Purchased this trashcan during the prime day deals in July. It was fairly easy to put together. I like the fact that the company sends you sample bags and a filter with this order. The charcoal filter definitely works to keep noxious smells from permeating the kitchen.
Overall, I would purchase this agai

When it worked it was great. Liked the “dog lock” to keep Fido’s nose out of trash. Easy to change plastic trash bags. Was not hideous looking sitting in the corner of the kitchen. Just flat out stopped the touchless opening or push-button opening after 9 months. Have e-mailed customer service and waiting for response to see just how good is their one year warranty. Will update review after manufacture response.

Response from mfg is yes it is under warranty but I must pay a $14.95 administrative service fee. Some email back and forth and the link given me to pay the admin service fee does not work….yet. 8-15-2023.

UPDATE 8-18-2023 Manufacture honored warranty and replaced the touchless battery operated hinged cover part. My cost was a $14.95 admin fee. Part delivered promptly after payment. Works perfectly. 4 Stars instead of 5 because I think all should function for at least during the 12 month period of the warranty. Customer service courteous and communicated promptly via emails. Initially sales tax was added to the “admin fee”. When questioned the sales tax was excluded. All in all it is a good product and the manufacture stands behind their warranty.

    UPDATE.....WARRANTY HONORED

I feel pathetic to say a garbage can makes me so happy but I love this thing. Kids haven’t ruined the automatic sensor yet but we did dent the side. Prob not the garbage’s fault though stainless Steel tends to get wrecked around here. I wanted the build in garbage but my kitchen layout didn’t allow it. This is a great compromise and it looks nice too.

When I took it out of the box, I panicked a bit. It looks like its half the size of my previous trashcan. It holds a regular tall kitchen bag, so I gave it shot and was pleasantly surprised. You can fill that bag to the top if you want. It is slightly taller, so no bending either! I also bought the adapter so it stays plugged in. I highly recommend purchasing both.

The door on it shuts too quickly and the opening is a little too small. I like this trash can for the most part. You can press the button so it stays open for 5 minutes which is great, but the initial opening and shutting is too quick.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe product seems to work well… if it could just arrive without being dented. The picture is of the first order. As seen, it was so bad we exchanged it. The exchanged one arrived in a few days and is damaged right on the rim. I bent it back and there is a slight warp near the top now, but we will keep it. I mostly fear another exchange would arrive in worse shape and I would be beyond frustrated by then.

I have no complaints about the product at all. The only problem is that it didn’t came with the part that holds the filter. I have tried to contact customer services since last year. I sent again the message this week but no response at all. I wished someone contact me when they see this review. I just want them to send me that part that is missing.

The front of the unit had a large dent in it. Because it was so heavy and cumbersome to deal with, decided it wouldn’t be worth it to return or exchange.
Regardless, this is a very cool trash can. Love the hands free, clean element and how easy it is to use.
Quiet with a convenient locking mechanism to keep out pets and stop accidental opening.

I have been using this garbage can for a few weeks now and I cannot think of a single thing that I do not love. It is beautiful and sleek and remarkably quiet. My previous trashcan was also hands free, but it made quite a loud noise when it opened or closed. It has a plastic hoop that is used to hold the garbage bag in place and a recess that fits the hoop perfectly. It is a breeze to use and keeps the bag neat and in place. In the inside floor of the can is a plastic bottom with indentations. These are meant to break the suction to make removing the bag much easier. At first I didn’t think that would work, but I was proven wrong! So no more doing some weird dance with my garbage can to try to get the liner out or calling someone to come and help me. The engineer that came up with that ingenious little feature deserves an enormous raise! It sits on wheels which turn out to be more useful than I had imagined. So, not only do I love, love love this can but I am seriously considering gifting one to all my friends and family for Christmas. I’m sure I’ll get some confused looks but I’m not worried because once they start using it, they will understand. If you decide to order one of these for yourself, (which I highly recommend,!), you may want to order some D size batteries too. It takes a lot batteries which the instructions say, could last 2 to 4 years. Since I’ve only been using this trashcan for less than a month, I’ll have to get back to you in 2025 to 2027. Hope this helps you make an informed decision M.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe’ve had this trash can for about three months now and I absolutely love it. The movement is smooth and fairly quick, and the set timer is reasonable. I also like the push button option that bypasses the timer which really comes in handy while cooking. Odors haven’t really been an issue for us so I assume the filter is working well. The manufacturer also included a free offer in the box for an extra filter or some trash bags, so we opted for the extra filter which is definitely nice to have on hand. As far as battery life, we have had the same batteries in this since we purchased it three months ago and it’s still going strong so I imagine they will last for quite some time. We haven’t tried it without batteries but it does come with a wall adapter if you prefer to plug it in. Another plus, we went with the larger of the sizes and man has that been a game changer. It’s just me, my partner, and our dogs. We only have to take our trash out once a week the night before trash pick up and sometimes the bag isn’t even completely full.

On a side note, if you are weary about the negative reviews, make the leap. We received our first trash can damaged and the replacement process was insanely easy. Once we received our new trash can we had ZERO regrets or buyers remorse. Highly recommend, its worth spending the extra bucks.

My pity had a habit of breaking into the trash so I bought this and they don’t even try to knock it over it’s got a good section seal on it so none of my animals have been able to break into the trash since I got this, caution moving forward you will waive your hand over non-electronic trash cans so you look like a goober but I loved this trash can it really made all the difference in the world. Does it hold a lot but it works perfectly for me. Your pets won’t break into your trash anymore.

We run two of these off batteries and they went a year without needing replaced. People sometimes get confused by our high tech trash cans but we really like them. The piece that raises the lids is a very small piece of plastic and one of ours broke (rendering it useless) but that may be because one of the kids was a little rough with it.

Generous size, tidy, does not smell, seals tightly, holds plenty of scraps before needing to be emptied into a compost bin. I like that it has the integrated liner inside the canister and around the inner base of the lid. The filter is amazing – it stinks when you open the bin but not at all once the lid is closed. Worth the money!

Update: This thing is awesome! My husband had an out of town trip, I couldn’t lift the full garbage bag because of my back. Kitties didn’t care, they had to eat and a week’s worth of canned cat food left on the paper plates piled up in this can, in our kitchen. Nary a sniff of cat food stench offended my super sniffer. I had originally wanted another brand, but couldn’t find it. What a happy accident that turned out to be!

We have 3 pure bred Maine Coons (weight varies from 16 to 22 lbs) who eat A LOT of canned food. Our house stunk to high heavens from the wretched stench of wet cat food. I tried many things to abate this, nothing worked until this wonderful trash can. I was mortified when we had guests, my house was an embarrassment. The moms and dads who wrote about stinky diapers not smelling while in this garbage can have my deepest thanks. I decided on this one based on that as well as reviews about great customer service. Those moms and dads weren’t exaggerating! No more stench, now I am comfortable welcoming guests agai

I have two iTouchless 13 Gallon Automatic Trash Can with Odor-Absorbing Filter and Lid Lock in Black/Stainless Steel, and I have to say, I’m impressed. The automatic open and close feature is great and has made disposing of trash so much easier. The sleek design fits perfectly in my kitchen.
The only downside I’ve noticed is that the odor-absorbing filter only lasts about 2-3 weeks, which isn’t very long. The odor-absorbing filter doesn’t last long, but it’s worth it for the functionality and style it adds to my home. Recommended for anyone looking for a clean and organized space.

If Icould double the number of stars, I would. It’s very convenient, keeps your hands off the garbage lid, and keeps the dog out of it! Before this, I had to keep my trash under the sink with a hook latch to keep the dog out of it. I got this after coming home one too many times to find garbage strewn throughout the house (did I forget to lock it or had she figured it out? ). With this I’m able to use the space under my sink for storage; and, it’s very convenient to just walk by and drop trash in without touching the lid. It also has a pet lock that I use when I leave the house, and, so far the pooch has left it alone.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought this after doing a housesitting gig at a house that had one. One of those “you don’t even know you need one until you have one” moments. So much easier when your hands are full, or you’ve got something messy to dump. I had a step can but you still had to be facing the can directly to depress the pedal and raise the lid—this one you just walk up and viola! The lid opens! I love it. I also have a weird, narrow spot as the most convenient area for my trash can, and the spot must be shared with my constantly needed folding step stool. So the size is great for me and I love that it opens from the narrow side, rather than the wide side. The only less-than-perfect reveal was that there is no can liner. Basically your trash bag is the can liner. I’ve always had something I can lift out and clean on occasion so we’ll see if that becomes an issue.

I just got it unboxed and set up so I can’t review on durability or odor control yet. However, it works great so far and I did want to comment on two things as it may help with your purchasing decision. The first is that this model (DZT13PAC) DOES come with a power adaptor. Lots of one-star dings for other models where the adaptor is an optional add-on. This model is more expensive than the iTouchless cans without adaptors, but is cheaper than buying the adaptor separately. Plugging in verses using batteries is the only way to go for me, so I’m really happy I found this model. Another plus was that I got an offer inside the box that allowed me to choose either a replacement air filter ($15 value) or a pack of trash can liners ($13 value) for free when I registered my purchase. I planned on buying a back-up air filter anyway, so that was like $15 off my purchase to me! Winner!

Looks nice and works great so fa

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought my first one in 2018. I use batteries and have only had to replace the batteries once in 5 years.

The charcoal oder eliminator does exactly that. They are easy to replace and readily available to purchase and stock up on. I change mine about every 3 months.

I will note that the plastic holder has come off once and fell into the trash but it was because I didn’t have it locked in good. Just something to be mindful of.

The automatic lid works great either by pressing the buttons or motion by waving your hand across the sensor.

The newest model (pictured on the left) has a locking tab to hold the lid shut. I don’t have a need for that but it does the job of keeping the lid closed.

The one I purchased in 2018 was ~$56USD and the new one had gone up, like everything else. Still worth the money!

We use one for trash and one for recycling.

    I highly recommend this product!

This is my first touchless bin & it works very well so far. The auto sensor is a good feature, I don’t have to touch the bin anymore when throwing rubbish into it, so I’m quite happy about it. The wings open fast but give you enough time to throw away your rubbish before they close, no complaint. It’s of good size & looks modern in my kitchen. I’m only a bit disappointed about the cover which is made of plastic instead of stainless steel.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersThis trash bin caught my eye at first due to its size. It was going to work perfectly for my space. That space being an under counter slide out. The auto openning lid was a bonus.

This item arrived quickly and packaged very well. It’s simple to assemble. I am using batteries since I have no available outlet. After installing the batteries, I tested it out and everything functioned fine. Sensor seemed reliable and fairly sensitive from a good distance. This is perfect if using in an open area as suggested by the manufacturer.

However, I am not using it in an open space. So, my first issue with this item is that it doesn’t seem to have a sensor disable feature. Would have been nice to turn off the sensor and just use the open and close buttons. I could turn it off all together and manually open and close which I would have been fine with just to have a bin this size but I was determined to make it less sensitive. The top of the counter when the tray slid in, trigerred the lid to reopen each time.

So, I came up with an idea. I had some vinyl tint around that I use for tinting head and tail lights. I took a small piece, placed over the sensor and tested the sensitivity. It did lessen it. I continued to place another piece over the first one, tested again and so on until I got it where I needed it. 5 pieces was too much, 4 was the sweet spot. I had to wave my hand much closer but the counter no longer triggered the sensor. Problem solved.

Overall, quality seems good. Hopefully functionality will remain solid as well, only time will tell.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersFirst of all, I do like this trash can. I bought an open-box and it arrived with one tiny dent on the side that thankfully is hidden due to the location of the can against the wall and my recycling can. I found a 6V 1.67 Amp power supply in my junk drawer that is powering the can fine. The open sensor seems to detect my hand quickly. And the doors open super fast. I was afraid my OCD would be impatient with them but that’s not happening at all. The doors are also semi quiet. Nobody taking a nap near the kitchen will hear the doors open or close. It’s semi-dog proof. If your dog knocks the can open, then the lid may pop off. There is nothing holding the lid in place. I bent the sides of the can inward a little and that seems to have created slight resistance for removing the top. So if the can does get knocked over, the top may or may not pop off. Thankfully, my dog has never knocked the can over. But then again he’s always been able to open the top flap on my previous can so he could hunt for whatever it is that smells good. Bad boy! hahah
Well those days are now done. That’s not going to happen with this electronically-controlled flap.
So, minus one star simply because there is no way to latch the lid in place on top of the can.

  43. CletaCaire says:

Only had it a couple of weeks buy can’t fault it, so not sure of battery life, it’s sad loving a bin, but I do

  44. Spooky Vegan says:

Very easy to use. The touchless functionality makes this very appealing and even the kids are able to use it without making a mess. I think for the price it is great as well – it is automated which, not a lot of bins are, and I have seen many manual-push or pedal bins on sale for a lot more than this. It opens quickly and closes after some 5-10 seconds – perfect really. It is easy to empty and to change as well – just make sure to switch it off at the back before doing so. The filter ensures no nasty smells.

So, why the 4 star? Well, I am reserving my full judgement until I have had it for a few months, rather than a couple of weeks as others have said they start to fail after a few months. If I survive that period I will bump up to 5 stars.

    Impressed with it so fa

Golden Review Award: 39 From Our UsersEDITO! DESPUES DE 3 AOS DE USO CONTINUO!!
    – Junio 2021

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersEdit # 2. I’ve now owned this trash can for about 3 years. It still works fine, but the gear mechanism is starting to slow down. Sometimes it won’t close automatically. I think the gears are all clogged up with slime. gross but probably true. Anyway, got the ol’ moneys worth out of it. I might do a detailed clean and try to wash out the mechanisms, lube it a bit and see if it comes back to life.

***EDIT**** I’ve now owned this trash can for about 16 months now. Still works exactly the same as when I purchased it. I have not had any sensor issues / gear issues, or any malfunctions. Now I’m spoiled by automatic trash cans. Quite happy with the product. *** End Edit ***

I wanted a new trash can because I was really sick of the old foot pedal one. It wasn’t so much the foot pedal being an issue, but the old can had an insert that came out every time you pulled the bag out, and had a poor implementation for keeping the bag from falling in the can…hated it.

I thought an automatic one would be fun.

It looks nice and is effective, does the job as advertised.

I really like the holes they punch in the bottom of the can to avoid a vacuum effect when pulling the bag out. 4/5 times I can pull it out with one hand. What a great, simple innovation. Of course, if you have liquid that breaks through the bag, you might have liquid on the floor, in my case the carpet. Hasn’t been an issue yet.

It is slightly irritating to have to switch off the switch, pull the whole lid off and place it somewhere in order to change the bag, but not a big deal. Not nearly as irritating as the old can with its inner lining. The lid has a snug fit. The sidewalls are thinner then I expected, so if your can had any manufacturing flaws I can see where the lid might be a bit of a hassle to get on or off, or issues with the plastic ring staying put, but no problems here.

The ring which holds the bag in place looked like a bigger pain then it is. It’s actually pretty easy to deal with, and it is quite effective in holding even a very full bag in place, and hides it from view. I pack the bags full, compressing the trash until it is totally full before changing. Unlike another reviewer, I’ve had zero issues with the ring falling out of place or bags slipping. (I use bags with drawstrings which may help with that as they have a thicker top) When you pull a 14 gallon bag out of the can, it is all the way full, not wasting much of any bag or allowing it to become exploding full. They did a good job there.

From the reviews I really thought I’d have a problem with the sensor as the can is in a location where we walk right by it constantly. I was pleasantly surprised that it doesn’t ever accidentally open unless I specifically put my hand or trash directly over the front of the can. The time the lid stays open is good for me, and it scares the dog and my 2 year old when it closes which is absolutely hilarious. (in a light-hearted way, the baby isn’t traumatized or anything.)

I’m fine with the size of the opening, it could be a bit bigger. I think if you want a bigger opening you might go with one of those more expensive 18, or 22 gallon cans with automatic lids. But they’re massive.

Bought the A/C adaptor which works, the cord isn’t very long (4-5 foot tops I’d say) but that wasn’t a problem for my location.

The action of the lid is the only place I have some real concerns. When the sensor is triggered, the lid opens all the way, then after a split second relaxes down a couple inches, decreasing the size of the opening. It didn’t do this the first day I bought it and it has only been a month or so. Sometimes it doesn’t do that and stays all the way open. It hasn’t caused a problem yet but kinda makes me scrunch my nose like, huh, 70 bucks huh?

I guess I thought I would be much more excited about this, but it is just a freakin garbage can yes? I’m still happy, but just slightly deflated from what my expectations were. Not a lot of options on the market in this price range.

The build quality is medium, no more no less. For the money, the sidewalls and lid plastic should be thicker, gear mechanism should be more robust. I would have to say I don’t have a lot of confidence this will last for years, though perhaps it will prove me wrong. I am satisfied with my purchase thus far. Its a garbage can.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSo far, so great. I never did trust these “magic” gadgets that know you’re coming. I mean, you gotta be dressed to walk into the kitchen now for fear your garbage can’s gonna see ya?

Well, OK, I will say it does work and very nicely. But I’ll also say this is something we all can have fun with, maybe bring us back to being kids again? You know, after some weeks, I still tend to jump back when this can opens its gaping mouth at me? Put down those 3-D glasses, this is real!

Then, I suppose you’re reading this for the nitty-gritty details on how or whether it works. So I’ll open up my most delicate fears so you can have a peek at “The Monster In The Kitchen.” Or “It Came From Beneath The Linoleum.”

First, putting it together. Not much to that, really. You’ll need those big, fat D batteries. So far, one set has done it for me, even counting for playtime. Then, fixing up your garbage bag in it takes little training. Be sure and have the 13-gallon size, they’ll work better. Slide it through the rectangle, over and out and drop it in place. Directions are uncomplicated.

Your main thought will be where to put it, or at least where to aim the working part, the front of that gaping mouth. Don’t aim it where you stand to wash the dishes. Oh, don’t worry; it’s not that dangerous. Six inches back and your privates will be safe. Some experimentation might be in order; but just don’t fret about it. And for Heaven’s sake, stop thinking of Audrey and Gregory putting their arms into the lion’s mouth in Rome. I’ve only had my right hand sewn back on twice. I’m getting quicker.

No, I don’t find it noisy at all. You hear it open; but probably less so than you expect. It can get its cycle thwarted by not being able to close when it wants (like those times it eats your hand); but push the button, doggone it. Don’t be afraid of the thing. Show it who’s boss. Don’t let it intimidate you. Toughen up, soldier!

In short, think before you cuss it out. That “malfunction” may be simply a mild miscue that is relieved simply be letting nature or machinery take its course. It does have those two buttons on the front, ya know.

It also has a switch on back. This turns your kitchen monster on and off…. if you’re tricky enough to sneak up on it from behind. This takes courage; but you can do it. You’ll want it off to move it or change the bag (I haven’t yet had to slop through the garbage to do this, much less so than before, actually). Or to lift off the top to more easily find your hand down there amongst the garbage.

Got the idea? This is the future. Do those step-on cans frighten you? I’ll bet they frightened somebody when they first came out, the kitchen monsters of their day. Well, this is simply an evolution, an improvement…. a great improvement. It doesn’t really eat hands, I’m only kidding.

Finally, I thought this “gadget” was a expensive”toy” myself. Until I started shopping around for plain old no-frills kitchen trash cans. Geesh! You’ll be paying almost as much and more for much less fun and and when you get down to it, serviceability. (ADDED NOTE: I paid $60 with free shipping. I see price has greatly increased.)

Oh darn… Did I forget to mention the appearance of this kitchen monster? Well, that’s how it fools its victims. It just plain looks too good in the kitchen to do any real harm. Kinda like better than the rest of the kitchen, when you get right down to it. Look at the picture to your upper right and compare it to the unfun cans you see on other pages. Yeah, just look without fear.

Sneaky little gadget, ain’t it? Arrrrrgh! I think I saw it move toward me!
