Item arrived as expected and every piece was in the box. This lego set was an slightly challenging build but an enjoyable one. Will buy more helmets like this in the future for sure.
I ordered the LEGO 75349 Star Wars Captain Rex Helmet Set for my nephew for his 8th Birthday. He is very much into the LEGO and loves Star Wars so Captain Rex Helmet was an excellent choice for him. He can solve LEGO and puzzle much older than his age. So this is more like a rewarding decorative item for his room than actually making it. Overall, I love this item, the details and build quality are amazing as we expect from LEGO.
The level of detail is absolutely delightful and while some may spot there are ‘errors’ in the design compared to the real thing, I think given the limitations of the size of the display model, it’s a very, very good representation.
I guess my only gripe could be that they have included stickers instead of printed parts. But this is kept to a minimum. (Keep in mind that lego have to consider where they can use printed parts on multiple sets to make it profitable)
This Lego 75349 Captain Rex helmet set is a really great little build for any Star Wars fan. It’s small enough to build in one afternoon, but also very detailed, making it a fantastic display piece.
The set includes 854 pieces, I’d say it’s a smaller medium build. It did take me few hours to complete it, the instructions are pretty straightforward to follow though. You end up with a really nice looking display piece, perfect for any Star Wars enthusiasts. The current price for the set is 55.99, very in line for this sort of Lego build.
I had lots of fun building this set. It’s not one I would usually go for, I usually build bigger sets, however it was still a very enjoyable build. It’s a little technical, but I wouldn’t say it’s complicated. I can see a teenager could easily attempt it. I smaller child will need some help.
The final result is so nice, the helmet looks really detailed and is completed with a name plaque. It looks great displayed on a shelf.

I have been doing this Lego of captain Rex every couple of weeks with my 16 year old nephew who one loves Star Wars and 2 loves Lego so I promised him we would complete it together.
It’s very simple to follow the instructions and I’m not sure why it’s 18+ at 16 he could easily do this himself but it’s just something we do together and have fun with. We have already probably clocked 4-5 hours it’s probably 3/4’s built, but you should note we are not in a race to complete this as we are doing it while being very social.
I would say it’s quite an expensive item but when you think of the hours it takes to build it may be around 10 an hour then you get to keep the Lego . I think it will look good in his bedroom on a shelf once completed.
Overall I think this is definitely a good item with hours of fun in it.

Design of the Captain Rex Helmet is incredibly detailed, and it’s clear that LEGO put a lot of effort into making it as accurate as possible. The set comes with 948 pieces, and it took me around five hours to build.
Building process was enjoyable, and the instructions were easy to follow. The final product is a beautiful replica of Captain Rex’s helmet, and it looks great on display.

I have no idea why this is labelled as an 18+ set, my 11 year old daughter happily built it with no mistakes. I think Lego do the public a disservice with these age ratings, they should instead say “experienced builder” or “beginner builder” or similar. In this case… this set requires care with the instructions. If you make a mistake it is difficult to undo steps to fix it as a lot of the construction interlocks. But you don’t need to be 18 to do it.
The build is pretty interesting. I was saddened by the use of stickers for the tally marks and the weld lines. These should have been prints, especially the tally makes as they are repeated. Take a star off for that.
The range finder functionality works well and feels strong. Overall the set is a fine display model. It looks good on a shelf and the internals can’t be seen from any “normal” viewing angle.
This is the smallest set out of all the helmets in terms of piece count. It is also fairly straightforward to build, with no complicated mountings, so it’s quick to assemble. I was able to use both hands and assemble multiple pieces at the same time and took me about an hour and a half to complete. This set is really straightforward, nothing complicated and easy to follow. There are a few stickers that need to be applied along the way. I really wish LEGO would stop with the stickers and just print them onto the pieces.
The side and the front of the helmet are symmetrical, so the build is a bit repetitive. For an experienced builder, you may find it to be a breeze build, However, for newcomers or younger individuals, it’s best to take your time. The instructions we step by step and didn’t confuse me at all. I do wish it was a little bigger however I’m extremely satisfied.
This set is absolutely gorgeous, and the ultimate collector’s item for clone trooper fans. As mentioned, the build is fairly intuitive, but some steps will pose a challenge for a younger individual. So having an experienced or mechanically-minded adult around to supervise is definitely recommended if gifting for a child. The finished product is absolutely beautiful, and definitely belongs in any star wars collection!
