The quality is great. Hard to find things not made of plastic, anymore. It works, It’s easy to use. The magnifier is great for inspecting skin, and looking thru pet fur. The light is very bright. Still is recommended to use in dim to no light room. But can be used for small, up-close areas in illuminated rooms. Perfect size for immediate surface areas.

This looks like a great lamp, but its reflection off light furniture is bright enough to require safety goggles. I know better than to look directly at the light. However, the reflected light off my white couch was enough to cause eye pain.

Review for MAINENG Wood Lamp Skin Analysis, Woods UV Light 365nm LED Blacklight

I started using UV lamps a few years ago for various different things such as revealing details standard illumination light cannot reveal. The lamp is powered from a built in rechargeable battery (charger included). UV lamps such as this can reveal a hidden world such as stresses and fractures, or spills or staining that a normal light wouldn’t highlight. The great thing that this lamp has is the magnifying capability, useful for say the skin analysis that I am starting to explore and understand.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI wish I would have taken pics to post but I have purchased 3 of them in 2 years for animal rescue purposes to help diagnose and control ringworm. They are the best! Very obvious color differential than trying to use a black light or any other brand I have tried. This help identify new spots and existing. Plus with the magnifying glass I don’t have to stick my face so close to see the hair follicles of questionable situations.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a small handheld device but it absolutely love it because I can get close to the face or at different angles and be able to see the skin really well.

The light is very bright and I like that it’s rechargeable.

It was definitely a good investment.
I use this in my spa.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a solidly made, nicely presented device looking a bit like a “Sherlock Holmes” magnifying glass, but with a thicker rim studded by a number of 365nm UV LEDs. A dark visible light filter covers the LED ring, so that when switched on, the only visible light emitting from the device are any specs of dust sitting on the filter. Of course, DO NOT LOOK INTO THE “BALCK LIGHT” directly – the UV is strong, and bad for your eyes. Always be sure to wear appropriate UV safety eyewear.

In its intended us – examining your skin or other items at close range and under 365nm UV radation, this device is powerful enough to make the fluorescent items (from computer paper to price labels, and way more!) glow brightly across an entire room. And it is wonderful for checking Currency, Passports and many other “Secure” documents for authenticity.

Very nicely made, and works perfectly.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought this and it just came in. I used it in a dark room in my apartment to look at my vitiligo. I have semiactive vitiligo which I am currently treating but I wanted to make sure I was covering all the areas with my ointments. I used it and I can clearly see what are the affected areas, and even areas where the vitiligo is not visible in clear light. Highly recommended.

Very good quality. Yeah, made in China. But seems that it’s made by an experienced manufacturer. Comes ready to use with a battery and charger. Very bright so you don’t even need to work in complete darkness. Thanks. Good product.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis lamp is amazing. When I brought it to my vet’s office there was an audible gasp from the vet tech when our sweet little boy lit up like a Christmas tree when we used this lamp, compared to the one in the vet’s office. Thankfully, our sweet boy got the treatment he needed and is now doing great.

This is serious heavy duty ( or just plain heavy depending on your outlook ) woodlamp that looks built to last. Uses a replaceable(to marks here) rechargeable battery for fire the 30 led recessed in the bevel of the magnifying glass.
Personally I think that this type of product can be useful for a variety of purposes but I’m not sure that it’s more than a novelty in most cases.

It is interesting and informative seeing missed dust spots after cleaning and general areas where we tend to miss. Apart from that I can’t really justify the price at the time of writing(64) for my use case. If you’re are going to make use of it for health reasons, skin inspections and so on, then it is a great product and worth the investment.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI used this to endure my kitty did not have ring worm after treating with anti fungal medicine. You could clearly see the bright green spores with this light.
Easy to charge and ready to use right out of the box.
    Very pleased with this purchase

This is a very well made product and feels strong and durable in the hand. The UV light output is bright and the magnifier is very clear. It takes a replaceable rechargeable battery which can be charged in the unit if required. I can testify that it is durable as I dropped it on to the tiled floor in my bathroom from waist height and can not even find a mark on the unit!

There are many uses for these UV lights, I am using mine for curing UV resin and looking for biological contamination around the house amongst other things. For both of these purposes I am very very impressed – it is so much better than my previous UV light.

It is a bit more money than some other lamps, but the difference is clear in both the quality of construction and the performance of the light and the magnifier. Highly recommended.

A few years ago my wife had an unusual mole on her shoulder, and after a visit to the doctor it turned out to be a melanoma. Fortunately it was removed successfully and after several years of hospital checks we now have to carry out six monthly skin inspections at home. We’re not skilled enough to use a dermascope but having discovered what a Wood Lamp is (basically an ultraviolet lamp invented by Robert Wood over a hundred years ago) this looked like an easier to use alternative.

It’s a very simple device, a fairly heavy magnifying glass with UV light built in. A single button turns the lamp on and off, an 18650 battery provides the power and a 5X lens the magnification. It’s simple to operate and best used in low light conditions. The UV light shows up anything unusual, though this includes material fibres and residue of creams and lotions. It can also be used to show urine or other stains on furniture and in bathrooms, for example.

We’ve already made use of this checking moles and blemishes, and whilst it won’t be used on a daily basis, it’s a very useful addition to our medical equipment, as important as our blood pressure monitor and electronic thermometer.

Whilst not cheap, this is a high quality device that appears to be very well made, and for anyone with any kind of skin issue it is well worth the investment.

Very useful for monitoring skin, a good quality wood lamp

This Wood UV Lamp is supplied in a branded box along with the rechargeable battery in a separate case, a charger, warranty card and instructions. It is quite heavy and made of alloy with a black anodised finish. You need to unscrew the back and insert the rechargeable battery before use but it then can be charged without taking it out again.

The lamp has a UV light ring surrounding a 5 X magnifying glass which lights up a good area and is quite clear even in daylight. The light can be used to highlight skin conditions on yourself or pets, as well as dirt or contamination around the house.

To use it, press the on/off switch and hold the lamp about 10cm above the area you’re examining. The UV light will them illuminate any flaws for you to examine. The light looks quite dim but actually highlights the area well. The magnifying glass is clear and helps highlight what you are looking at.
The battery slots into the bottom of the device and is rechargeable using the supplied lead.

This is quite a serious tool with a price to match. You can buy simple UV lights much cheaper that are fine for highlighting dirt and grime around the house but if you are more interested in proper analysis of skin conditions for you or your pets then that is where this justifies it’s cost.

This is one of those things you either need, due to one reason or another, or you don’t need but think it might come in handy at some point, for what ever reasons you might think
It looks like a huge magnifying glass, which it is really, only this one has a UV light ring surrounding the magnifying glass which lights up a good area.
It’s about 205mm log with an 85mm ring light housing a 50mm magnifying glass. The handle is a good 120mm long, 25mm in diameter.
It’s simple to use, although a little more confusing when knowing what you’re looking at under the light.
It shows up many things, not just the state of your skin. It shows up any water damage on walls, dust and dead skin and much, much more.
To use it you just press the button and hold the light/glass about 10cm above the area you’re scanning. When the blue light
The battery slots into the bottom of the device and is rechargeable using the supplied lead. It takes a few hours to charge and a full charge will last quite some time, unless you use it 24/7.
In all, if you want to look at your skin, even if it’s just out of curiosity. Or maybe look at the hidden dust and muck around your home, or desk, (My keyboard was speckled with blue dots which I’m hoping is dust) then this is worth thinking of.

Staring through the looking glass may cause you to itch ....

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersI care for foster ringworm kittens and cats for the local animal shelter. This is a very easy device to monitor the progress of treatment. The magnifying glass can spot small areas covered with fungus such as the ears. It is very accurate in fluorescing the ringworm. It is easy to clean and store between uses. I would highly recommend it for anyone caring for ringworm animals.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI use this for examining my clients skin for facials and it works perfect! It’s easy to use. Easy to charge. And it doesn’t take up much space either. The best part is it being wireless! Great product.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI love this thing! I bought it to help me spot ringworm on a kitten I adopted who was positive but also has long hair. This helped me find ringworm on him I wasn’t treating on his fluffy tail. I also got this to help me deep clean because of the ringworm.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersUsed it to find ringworm on a stray cat we rescued; it glows a fluorescent green. We could find it on humans, animals, etc. Glad we spent the few extra bucks and got the better lamp. Would purchase again.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersHigh quality, all metal construction. The light strongly fluoresces ringworm, so I think it has the ~365nm wavelength for a Wood’s lamp. The filter leaks little visible light, so the contrast of things that fluoresce is high. I’m always skeptical of unknown brands, but this is a quality item.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersI’m a thirty eight year old man that was just diagnosed with Vitiligo. For me, this diagnosis is devastating. I’m sure I will come to terms with it in time but for now it’s very difficult. The Vitiligo is beginning to manifest itself primarily on my face. There are just a few visible spots where pigmentation is visibly gone however the Wood’s light, lights up unseen spots all over my face and allows my to apply the topical ointment for treatment in a targeted and precise way that would be impossible without a tool like this.

The tool is quite heavy and is clearly solidly constructed. Magnifying glass works although I don’t use it, The light is more powerful than a conventional black light and will easily pick up everything a black light picks up and more. I’m so used to mostly cheaply made products being sold from China on Amazon. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this device and recommend it to anyone in need of a fully functional and highly efficacious wood lamp.
