    Excellent value, price point
It’s not perfect and I prefer a no frills top loader with minimal zippers and compartments- this pack is not too overdone. That said, the zippered compartment for sleeping bag access is not necessary as is the divider inside, at least for me.
Between the 3 sets of adjustments most average size men should be able to find a nice hip belt sweet spot.
First thing, I got rid of the rain cover. I use contractor bags inside and a Poncho over everything on the outside.
So far, I haven’t noticed some of the issues others are complaining about. But it was a short hike with light load.
On a 3-5 day hike, I’ll have room to spare in this pack.
    Seems fine to me.

A great rucksack, lightweight given it’s capacity, robust and easy to use.
Be advised though; if you are overweight, the shoulder straps will restrict access to the hip belt pockets.
Other than that, it’s the typical Osprey quality.

This is my favourite bag. It’s not too big and not too small it’s just right and perfect for hiking camping etc and very very well made. Thank you Osprey.

This backpack has made my son’s 1 1/2 hour train and walking commute to training field possible without fatigue.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe bag is comfortable, has a nice capacity, and adequate attachment points for other gear. There are two small flaws though that prevent it from getting a full five star rating.

    1. The zipper on the attic pouch is on the wrong side — it’s facing you rather than facing the back of the backpack. This means that you can’t have your friends grab something out of it while hiking, and when you go into it yourself, you can’t “flip” the attic up to keep things from spilling out. Rooting around in the attic to find something small is needlessly inconvenient because of this.

    2. The floor separating the main compartment from the sleeping bag compartment cannot be completely removed or stowed out of the way. If you want to use the full capacity of the bag for other items and carry your sleeping bag on the outside, you’ll always find this flap getting in your way near the bottom of the bag.

Otherwise an awesome bag with plenty of space, good attachment points for external stuff, convenient pockets on the hipbelt, and excellent ventilation with the bulk of the pack held away from your body.

The build and comfort are superb, it’s a slightly odd shape but it’s amazing how much you can get into it. Comfort wise its excellent as you can distribute the weight closer to your body and the waist strap and shoulder straps are just about perfect. The cinching straps make packing a ‘cinch!’ and just in the right places.
Plenty of hooks and extra clips etc are good for additional carrying of odd bits and pieces.
    Great rucksack!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI do a lot of backpacking and I’m getting older and this pack keeps the weight off my shoulders and more on your hips and allows air to circulate between the pack and my back. Instead of the pack resting on your back it bows out and leaves a gap which i loved because it prevented the sweating which normally happens. Plenty of space and attachment points.

Fantastic rucksack and very comfortable. On the smaller side of 50l but may take time for material to relax. Quality build and very well designed. I am so pleased with this purchase. I can fit everything I need for a few days of wintery wild hiking and camping.

Not bad for a first backpacking pack. Limited on individual pockets, but can still hold a good bit of gear. Seems durable, good quality, and a fair price.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt’s great used it traveling and backpacking. It’s not the most comfortable backpacking as it sits very low on my hips or I will start to get bruises. When it sits low it makes it harder to walk up hill drastically where I would un clip the hip belt to just help. For a single day or short hik I would sit it high on my hips but once at 2 full days definitely lower. Apart from this absolutely amazing bag for the price I got 55 euro so 50 pound. It doesn’t matter how u pack this bag Ur cook pot right against Ur back if u want the system helps amazingly. The back system is great I would like a mesh on the outside of the back now but it does have clip points maybe I’ll make a system but when Ur hiking and it’s to hot u take of a layer I’ll take of my fleece and shove it in the ventaltion system so I don’t have to take the bag off open it and stuff so much easier. The back system works great u do not sweat a drop in your t shirt but even when wearing more I still think it’s better. It’s study packs a lot it’s great and amazing the price with the garentee.
    Also it kinda heavy

This was the best price I could find on the internet or in stores, and the quality is wonderful. I’ve used it to hike, travel, and ovenight camp several times, and it has held up excellently. I would (and have) recommend to a friend
The size is great, and is very adjustable. I am 5’11 200lbs and it’s a great fit, but would also fit people bigger and smaller. The blacked-out aesthetic is awesome too

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersMy brother and I bought identical 50L Rook backpacks for a three day two nighter. We packed heavy since we hadn’t been in awhile. Both of us had no problem fitting the packs. Absolutely no quality concerns, nothing tore or ripped.
Inside there is largely no organization in this pack. You have separate spots in the brain and the bottom sleeping bag portion, but nothing inside the main pack. That’s fine, but something you should know.
When fully packed up (our trail weight was 45 lbs. people will laugh at this for being too heavy. we were tired by the end 🙂 ) we were unable to use the hydration sleeve for our water bladders. This was a huge deal for us. We were going backcountry and had to treat our water. I have a camelbak 3L with no leaks and my brother had a Hydrapak 2.5L. Neither could be put in the hydration sleeve, since even without the compression straps on the side the pack puts too much pressure on the hydration sleeve portion. This caused water to press out of the bottom nozzles on both of our otherwise non-leaking hydration packs. We ended up having to lay the bladders across the top of everything else packed in the backpack instead of using the sleeve. Minor.
Rain sleeve is a nice bonus for this price point, saved us a couple times and let you leave the pack outside your tent without worrying about it. Water bottle netting on both sides is oddly designed. Holds nalgenes pretty well, but has a side opening. I’m sure this is supposed to be for easier access while hiking, but it just made a risk of things falling out. Wasn’t able to reach either opening of the water bottle holders with the pack on anyway.

Overall very pleased with the pack. Some minor design complaints but overall did us very well.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis pack is very comfortable and sturdy for the price. I first bought a cheap pack and switched to the Rook 50 after a few trips. I could tell a huge difference (especially with the mesh backing for air flow). I highly recommend this pack. I also bought shock cord and weaved it on the outside of the pack and on the brain to allow more quick access storage.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLeggero, capiente quanto basta ma questo soggettivo, ben equilibrato. Colore molto scuro e poco visibile.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersNot a ton of features so the cost is low — an amazing budget pack with Osprey’s infamous almighty guarantee! Looks great, feels great (adjustable torso & mesh trampoline back? sign me up!). Perfect for 3-4 day trips & I’m now considering this for thru-hikes. By far the best backpack I’ve found in this price range.
