It’s very pretty, and sounds wonderful, especially with surround sound, but oh my god, these headphones are cursed. First problem: Bluetooth audio sounded horrible when I joined any sort of voice chat, I was scratching my eyes out trying to fix this until I realised it was automatically turning on hands-free mode because it automatically thought I was in a phone call I guess? Fixing that arose my second problem: some software would cause other software to become muted, so say I wanted to watch some YouTube while in queue – gotta fix this random ass problem first. Third problem: windows audio mixer completely stopped working – I still haven’t fixed this because i have no idea how but if there wasn’t a volume wheel thing on the headset id be crying by now. Fourth problem – audio randomly started only working in one ear one time ??? turned it off and on again to fix, but I’m praying that’s a one-time thing. Now here’s when i think I’ve been through it all, (in the span of just one day I’ll add), if you do not have constant audio playing and decide to go ONE SECOND without playing something, the headset automatically powers off and you will need to power it back on. Not a problem when gaming, because there will always be at least some ambient noise, but general use makes this a pain in the arse, bare in mind my headset is not low on battery and i have changed the standby period to never and still get this issue.
So yeah, this headset needs an exorcism. Apart from that – would reccomend.
It’s only been 2 days but I wanted to give a quick review on first impressions.
The headphones look great! They fit on my head very well and the ear cushions are soft which gives a lot of comfort.
The box includes a type c dongle, a 3.5mm jack (both ends), a type c to USB and a female type c to USB. So in all, 4 wires, which is great.
The sound quality is good, I previously had the razer kraken kitty ears and I do think their sound quality was better. But you can customize with equalizer and get good results.
It’s lightweight, so good for traveling as well!
All in all, I’m very happy with my purchase. 4 stars because the sound quality is just good, not great, but it’s not bad at all. If the kraken was 8/10, this is a 7.
OK so I’ll update my review if needed, but this will be the initial feeling when receiving the headset. Bare in mind if you do get a fault you can simply replace them. I needed to do with a keyboard and I got a full refund after using for around 12 months.
So here we go initial review and will be updated if needs be. The barracuda headset (Got it in pink) only, because it cost me 70 euro instead of 160 euro (stated used good condition) came brand new.
1. The build will get a 8. So I’ll say it is plastic, but quality plastic. The head rest is leather and feels really good. The ear cushions feel really really good!! It all around feels really good wearing this headset. I mean I’d prefer black or white or whatever colours they call it, but can’t complain for the price.
2. Sound quality. So I’ve use cloud 2 as well as the cloud core alpha wireless. I have a pair of corsair viruouso as well as had a set of Arctic pro 1 I think they called back in 2018 ( those broke quite quickly ). So I have a few different makes. I’d say the sound is on par with any of these headsets, but awesome part is these are wireless and gaming is brilliant with them. I mean I am not audio phobe. Just a casual gamer or well someone that usually games 40 hours a week I’d say. Poe, cs2, dota, hogwarts legacy, red dead redemption 2 etc. So basically playing all the normal games. Please don’t judge valorant and League players. Those games are also brilliant and just as a stand point so you can know I love gaming. Brilliant audio for me.
3. The dreaded mic. I use discord with mates. So I told them I was getting a new headset. I had the cloud core alpha (wireless) latest headset. So when I went on to discord I was asking my friend how my mic was. He said I sounded better. Now if you look up the mic I had, was probably rated by all sorts of people as like an 8 or higher. So saying the mic is shocking is not true at all. I haven’t done anything to it. I didn’t change settings. I literally plugged this headset in and guess discord really makes the mic cut out background noise etc. So you don’t need the app etc to change anything in discord. Discord settings work perfectly. I’d give the mic a 8. This is when others say it’s shocking. Not true. I listened to myself and sounded good (obviously we are considering the fact there is no boom mic) I’d say it is a good quality mic!!
4. Battery life seems to be brilliant too. The functions are very easy to use and the fact all the buttons are on the left hand side ( I am a right hand mouse guy ) it helps a ton!! The virtuoso for example, has volume button etc on the right hand side and I cannot tell you how annoying this is… I appreciate the fact they took this into consideration.
5. The distance between my pc and headset when walking away will be a 6. I don’t think it’s the best nor the worst. It is not a detriment at all, but I feel the cloud alpha are better for distance where I can talk and hear until it cuts off. Although once again this won’t be a detriment it is just how I’d compare other experiences.
6. The weight. For me this is a perfect weighted headset. I can feel it on my head, but not to the detriment of how long I can wear it for. It is comfortable. It feels good and this headset looks very very nice!!
Overall would I recommend? This is the question. On a tight budget? I’d recommend the barracuda x, because they cheaper. I have not used them, but I could say they most likely quality. If you want a better experience overall though I would recommend this headset. If you game and want to use the mic in discord. No one will complain or know any different don’t let reviews put you off, this headset is really good. I have had issues with razer products, but at the price I got these it is worth the risk that if they do break I can send them back anyways.
More pros are the fact you can use your phone. Tv. Ps5. Nintendo (I have and works a dream on it too), gym etc. This headset can do it all.
Honestly overall I am impressed. Reviews found say this is a 7.8, but I feel this isn’t true. For me I’d recommend this headset overall for all the features you get. Just perhaps try find a deal on them.
If anyone asks questions I’ll try to get back to them as well. I do hope this review will help you. Please be mindful this review can be used for noth barracuda x and the one above as the lower version will still be brilliant as the build quality us almost the same as well alas the pro. Just differences are barracuda x – boom mic sounds better than the higher headsets, but with barracuda and the pro the sound quality gets better and better and more features on the pro like anc. To me I don’t need any though. Also the pro comes with leather for the ear cups. Hope this review helps!! Casual gamer. Review. Oh I’ll also use these for working. Works wonders!
First impressions:
Comes in good, organized packaging. Everything comes in separated packaging as you’d expect.
The cables are a good length, and it has a high distance for receiving audio. The 2.4ghz is great quality. Unless you live in a absolutely huge mansion I’d expect you’d easily receive a full signal anywhere.
As for the headset itself, onto the pros:
It’s beautiful. (The design, specifically the white one) The Razer Barracuda X [2022] imo at least. It doesn’t look overly like it should only be for gaming. You could
The audio is very good. I had hoped it would match up to the 50mm driver of the Razer Blackshark V2 X but it does. Even better in fact in some ways. It’s more balanced and the bass is less heavy.
It’s light, and the weight of it doesn’t feel noticeably heavier in either ear at all. The buttons are in convenient locations. The ear cups are comfortable and the memory foam is nice.
It’s wireless and Bluetooth. If you have it paired with both, you can switch quickly by pressing the swap between Bluetooth and 2.4ghz connection three times.
The neutral points:
The volume scroll wheel. It’s hard to know precisely if it’s 50 or 60% as there’s no clicking as it changes.
Cons: If I’m being picky, I’d say the ear section is a ‘tad’ small. If they were 5-10% larger (for the ears diagonally or ovally, you get what I mean) they’d be the perfect budget headset imo. I’d say the Blackshark headset is more comfortable, but only a little. Both I can wear ‘all day’ (10+ hours) without discomfort.
I use the black shark 2020 and my step daughter wanted some pink gaming headphones. I said i’ll have a look whats out there as it made a difference having 7.1 speakers. She’s very happy with them.
I bought these headphones for discord. Zoom and casual music on the go. The Mic is high quality and sounds extremely good and your very clear. You can move the mic freely but stays in place. The headset has 50hrs of battery which is extremely useful because I can easily go a couple weeks without charging. I usually unplug the mic and use the headset outside because the logo blends in nice so it’s quite hard to see. The sound quality is clear and you can hear everything clearly.
Another benefit of these headphones are the fact you don’t have to install any Razer Bloatware which is a dream because razer synapse slows down your PC start up and I also found a bug where your headphones won’t connect because of how razer starts up.
The packaging is also very nice. It comes with the headphones, a decently long usb to usb C lead. A Usb Connector but their also comes an adapter which swaps it to regularly Usb and extends the range.
The headphones are plastic but have a metal band so I’m not worried about their longevity. Additionally, the ear cups are extremely soft, they don’t warm your ear up to the point of it hurting and the sound cancelling is quite nice because it doesn’t cancel everything out unless you max the volume to which this gets loud. You can download the Razer Audio app which allows you to Adjust the EQ but I find these headphones don’t need that.
I highly recommend these as there extremely good value and will last quite a few years.
They are also compatible with PlayStation and Xbox but only through the AUX cable.
One specific point I want to raise though is that there are two NEARLY identical versions of these headsets and inadvertently I picked up one of EACH in this case rather than the two NEW ones.
The (2022) marked version is the new one, and supports BLUETOOTH as well as the USBC Wireless adapter. The one NOT marked as such ONLY supports the USBC wireless adapter – both claim mobile etc support but the latter is via plugging the adapter into your phone etc.
In my case it’s not the end of the world as I don’t actually need Bluetooth but it just irked me that i’d accidentally bought an older product because it wasn’t clear – so please make sure you get the newer one if you want that functionality.
From what i’ve seen so far, the only other difference is that the new one says “power on” “power off” etc where as the older one just does bleeps in different ways – which doesn’t bother me. They look the same, sounds the same, work the same in every other way so far. If you want bluetooth specifically, make sure you get those (2022) marked ones instead and triple check “Smart Switch” and “Bluetooth” are mentioned in the feature set (they’re not on this one).
Recommended headset though, very good.
Los compre en los prime days, los uso a diario y solo los he cargado una vez. Estaba dudando pero merecen la pena, se ajustan a las orejas y no molestan despus de horas usndolos
Pros: high quality sound, very comfortable, not too big, nice looking.
Cons: short battery life, for some reason the connector that you have to plug is wide, therefore it’ll probably make the usb port next to it unusable. Microphone is terrible.
Premetto che non sono un esperto d’audio e men che meno di tecnologia. La mia recensione si basa su di un uso di quotidianit del prodotto.
Io lavoro online (insegno per l’esattezza) ed usavo fino il mese scorso un paio di Audio technica mx20 con filo che sono delle cuffie base perfette per quello che mi servono; purtroppo dopo qualche ora cominciavano ad essere scomode e le mie orecchie doloranti.
Cercavo cuffie morbide e Bluetooth perch ODIO i cavi e continuavo a prenderci dentro.
Questo cuffie sono eccezionali. Le uso per una media di 8 ore al giorno e sono super comode, la batteria mi dura quasi una settimana e l’audio (se ci smanettate un pochino-ma anche neanche se non riuscite) fantastico per me.
L’unica cosa “negativa” che ho riscontrato e su cui sto ancora lavorando che quando arrivano al 20-25% di batteria danno un messaggio vocale “batteria quasi scarica” ogni 5 minuti. Il che una stupidata visto che il 25% mi durerebbe 2 giorni interi di lavoro.
Ma finch non trovo un modo di togliere o modificare questa funzionalit non le considero completamente perfette. Per il resto per sono una bomba.
Un bon casque qui ne sert pas trop fort au niveau des oreilles. Une qualit globale correcte au vu du prix infrieur par rapport la boutique officielle. Un micro intgr qui fait le boulot et permet d’tre plus compact et discret.
Simply the best headset I’ve every used. Light weight, has ALL the connection options, easy to use and fantastic battery life. Just make sure you get the 2022 version not the 2021 verion, because longer battery life and bluetooth connectivity are essential, for me anyway. I don’t regret buying these at full 100 price one bit.
Worked well for a while, then software broke the charging light. Razer happily replaced it though

che dire spettacolari, suono si sente da dio, i medi a suono normale si sentono di pi rispetto ad gli alti e bassi per alzando il volume si riesce a percepire bene tutti sia gli alti che i bassi che i medi, cuffie super leggere sembra di non sentile in testa tanto che quando ho cambiato cuffie per indossare delle altre non riuscivo perch erano pesanti e molto ingombranti e mi davano senso di fastidio perch mi stavo abituando alle razer, la batteria che dire infinita ora non ho contato le ore ma penso proprio che 40H dichiarate siamo tutte vere, lo collegato al telefono per vedere serie tv, ascoltare musica, ci anche giocato tramite collegamento wireless fast quello di razer e la batteria dopo settimane ancora stava a 45%, poi amo che i cuscinetti dei padiglioni sono in tessuto cosa che per l’estate secondo me sono da prendere, infatti io acquisto solo cuffie con cuscinetti in tessuto, l’arco superiore in semilpelle o pelle ora non ricordo lo preferivo in tessuto ma non cambia molto perch comunque non sta a contatto con la pelle come i padiglioni quindi non crea sudore o calore, e poi dona quella classe alle cuffie che ci sta tutta, le cuffie si posso girare in varie direzioni che le rendono comode e indossabili tranquillamente al collo, confrontandole con le mie asus delta non so dirvi quali siano migliori per preferisco le razer proprio perch sono pi comode puoi collegare tramite fast wireless per giocare oppure switchare con il pulsante alla modalit bluetooth, le puoi usare anche per fare chiamate, sono leggere si sento benissimo, sono eleganti soprattutto nella colorazione bianca come la mia, sulle cuffie ci sono i vari comandi per alzare abbassare, mutare il mic, appunto switchare tra wireless e bluetooth e vabb spegnere e accendere le cuffie poi tramite l’app puoi settare lo spegnimento automatico, puoi personalizzare l’equalizzatore, si pu anche settare il mic in modalit noise cancelling e sull’app ci puoi collegare anche altri dispositivi, su pc con l’app puoi farci molte altre cose, secondo me valgono tutto quello che costano, mi sarebbero piaciute le pro barracuda per ho visto che uscivano con cuscinetti in pelle cosa che non volevo e non si possono cambiare, perch razer non li vende a parte, la dotazione anche troppa ti danno:

Je cherchais un casque audio pour les dplacements permettant de remplacer mes couteurs mais galement quelque chose pour jouer. Satisfais sur ces points.
Cependant il est important de noter que le micro est loin derrire celui du Razer Blackshark (V2 Pro wireless). Le micro intgrer est certes pratique mais pour parler… Oui les appels/conversations sur mobile ou en dplacement mais c’est vraiment limite.
These a really comfortable to wear even with glasses and really like the sound quality that comes from them. Really easy to set up. Battery life is good. I had some logitech G pro’s before which I returned and replaced with these.
I should mention that I’m on my second set of the razor headset after 6 months due to first set not connecting wirelessly. Worked great still plugged in so not sure what was going on. Razor customer support were great though and I had a new headset sent out.

Finde den Preis von 130 Euro Okay fr die Qualitt. Habe gerne auch Musik gehrt und im Alltag verwendet. Sie sind auch viel besser als meine alten Razer Kaira Pro von der Audioqualitt. Das Mikrofon ist leider nur 3 Sterne aber ausreichend. Die Software ist ein totaler Schrott – kann nur raten diese nicht zu installieren, wurde nach der Installation gehackt. Ich htte mir das Headset auch beinahe behalten, gingen aber doch zurck, weil ich mal was richtig gutes haben wollte und werde mir daher die Audeze Maxwell bestellen.
Got the wrong version of the item, which isn’t RAZER’s fault of course, though it still came without a mic cover and in a cardboard box with a razer logo on the outside and a plastic bag, which just felt a bit weird. (All inside an amazon box.) After looking around a bit I cannot find anyone else on the internet, (first few pages of results anyway,) that has had a similar experience with the packaging of this headset. Maybe I got a one off weird experience, anyway;
As far as the item goes, it does work really well. The wireless connection is great despite lack of bluetooth, I use it on my pc and laptop. No problems with windows or mac OS. The surround sound feature is quite nice however not great at all for gaming. Anything that requires directional audio such as Siege, CSGO or Valorant you will want this off and to use the game’s built in audio settings. Using the headset with this mode off for gaming is great. Sound is very crisp and clear and sounds a bit cleaner than my previous headphones. The surround sound is a nice feature for simply listening to music though, and since I’m often doing that I find it pretty nice to have, even if I just switch it off to play games.
It includes all the neccesary dongles which is nice, and connection is very quick and easy. Range is pretty decent and doesn’t drop out. Skipping tracks is also nice to have, as well as a volume slider as opposed to a button. The rubber cable ties are nice too I just don’t know why they’re fixed to the cable so I can’t reuse them.
Pleasantly surprised with this headset! Bought on black friday sales for half the usual price and I have to say it was well worth it. The mic is very good and pics up my voice even at a whisper. The volume of the headset is not the loudest (in comparison to my HyperX) but it is sufficient. Been using the headset for a couple days now and not needed a recharge yet so happy with the battery life too. Super sleek looking and looks great with my all white set up!!
These are really good they have surround sound 7.1 long lasting battery and very comfortable although the mic lacks a little. It’s usually quiet and doesn’t sound very well but for a 80 headset it’s acceptable
I have used this item on multiple devices and really like it. My only issue is that the sound quality distorts if trying to use the dongle on a Bluetooth enabled device, and you have to unplug it and plug it back in to fix the issue. It is very light weight and comfortable. Would have loved it to come with a carrying case, though.
Really good quality headset/headphones from razer honestly so glad I opted with these and the bigger plus is well can be used across multiple devices without any issues the microphone is detachable so if you have a dedicated microphone win win you are not going to always have this in your face.
Sound quality is really good even though I primarily play Overwatch as a fps game but when using for the likes of CSGO or CoD these at one point would of give some competitive advantage but nowadays that everyone uses these that once advantage is basically nullified (unless you also have a really good gaming chair).
Microphone quality I can’t personally talk about because I use an dedicated microphone for communication but given this razer also has had some decent microphone quality but I’m not going to say too much since I can’t have an opinion on the one this has.
Comfort these feel really nice to wear no real pain or discomfort even after wearing on sessions that are multiple hours they just feel really nice to wear and do have a nice build quality.
Would definitely recommend.
Je voulais absolument un micro-casque sans la contrainte d’avoir un fil et surtout d’avoir un micro devant la bouche. C’est un succs.
Je ne suis absolument pas du par ce casque malgr quelques douleurs l’oreille gauche de temps autre. Le son du micro n’est pas parfait, mais largement suffisant pour communiquer.
La porte (sans fil) du casque ne m’a jamais fait dfaut. Je me balade sur une surface de 70 m avec des murs porteur sans aucun problme de perte de connexion.
Concernant l’autonomie, je l’utilise entre 8 heures et 12 heures par jour. J’ai t en panne qu’une seule fois et je regrette un peu que le casque ne met pas prvenu plus tt. Mis part a, je le branche une nuit sur trois et je n’ai aucun problme.
Point noir, en tant qu’utilisateur de Linux, j’ai de gros dsagrments de connexion aprs redmarrage du systme. Je dois dbrancher et rebrancher nouveau le dongle USB pour rsoudre les problmes.
