Seriously impressed at how well this vacuum cleaner performs compared to my previous much more expensive cordless hoovers. Bought a second battery based on other reviews but not had to use it yet. The compact size when folded is brilliant.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAfter having a Dyson for years, which was not pcking up well I got this shark on offer and what can I say, but it is amazing. it has been the best vacuum I’ve ever used. Lovely accessories to make sure my home is clean and easy to store. The double battery is definitely a winner. I have a cat and didn’t realise how much hair she shed until this vacuum showed me brilliant. Brilliant. Highly recommend

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersSo it looks great, it’s easy to use and the suction is good.
What annoying is the same as my last shark. Firstly the battery is not great if you are using it on high, I guess having a second battery would help that. I have a fairly small 4 bedroom house and it can’t do the whole house in one go.
Secondly the hose just doesn’t cope with much more than dust. It’s gets blocked so easily and the part that bends is difficult to clear out. Any small piece of paper, or plastic creates a blockage. It’s an annoying design fault, which you probably wouldn’t notice if you didn’t have kids who are messy.
I’d love a car cleaning set to go with it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWas slightly concerned about how narrow, light and quiet it was. Soon I discovered that the dust container was filling up very satisfactorily with dog hair and dust, so must be working! Love the ease of hoovering under beds/settees/sideboards and small spaces. Largish house and 2 batteries just manage it, would definitely recommend 2 for anything bigger than modern 3 bed, though adds quite a lot to price. Can’t fault it after 3 months though not sure it will last the 12 years my bulky old Dyson did.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is the first time I’ve bought a shark hoover and it’s fantastic. There is very little I don’t like. The double battery option is great although I find 1 battery lasts for the whole house.
The sensor which adapts to the surface and increases the suction if it senses more dirt. The light telling me my carpet is clean, the quick release system and the digital display telling me how much battery is left. I feel this is just as good if not better than some other makes which are double the price with the same features. I’m really happy I got fed up with my old brand as shark you are much better and more affordable
Comes with lots of attachments too and although slightly heavier than my old cordless vacuum, to me it doesn’t matter as the suction is bette

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy upright Dyson was wearing out. They don’t last like they used to.

This was on offer at a bargain price on Prime day. I hadn’t used a cordless before but I love the versatility so much easier to manoeuvre. It’s compact too compared to my upright so we keep it in the corner ready to use for any little spills and quick onceovers.

The attachments are really easy to attach and use. It’s easy and effective on stairs. You can pick it up suck up any cobwebs from the ceiling. It’s really easy to empty too.

I like the way it roars when it comes across any dirt it has a sensor on it.

The two batteries mean that it’s always ready to use, one on the vacuum and one on the charger. I’m impressed!

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersI bought the Shark Stratos Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner, during the Amazon prime summer sale. having just moved into a new house, I though it would be useful to have a portable vacuum to allow us to just do top up cleans. However, I haven’t used my Meile vacuum since.
The Stratos seems to be incredibly powerful, more than coping with what we throw at, including dog hairs and long human hairs, which the anti hair wrap tech really copes well with, (no more un clogging hair is a revolution).
The odour capsule provides a pleasant if slightly synthetic aroma which boosts the just hoovered feel of the house, and seems to reduce the affect that dogs can have on vacuums.
The twin battery is also a brilliant feature, as vacuuming the entire house just about uses up one batteries worth of charge, (on the intelligent setting). So having the second battery on the doc is really useful as I just switch them over and we are instantly ready to go again.
The bin size is adequate if perhaps a little on the small size, but what can I expect for a portable, it is really easy to empty and comes off the device easily when it needs fully cleaning.
The tools are made of high quality robust plastics. The brush is possibly not as well designed as some portable vacuums i’ve had, being at a preset angle which makes it hard to use at awkward angles.

All in all im very impressed with the Shark Stratos Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner, and I would happily recommended it to anyone who is thinking about buy one.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am so pleased with this vacuum cleaner! It’s really powerful and versatile. The only very slight downside is the weight – I’m old and arthritic and could have done with something lighter. But it’s OK weight-wise. Apart from that, I’m really pleased with it!

Makes cleaning easy and quick, my carpets look brand new after use even with having a dog and kids. Nice and lightweight, relativly quiet and simple to use. Would 100% recommend

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have just gone from a rubbish Vax handheld cleaner that drops everything it had picked up as you lift it to put away to a Shark Stratos Pet Pro which is like moving from Dagenham to Beverly Hills, the difference is night and day and i do not have a single thing i dislike about my new cleaner. What are you waiting for “Just buy it now while on offer” you won’t regret it a single bit as its better than any dyson I’ve used.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have always had a very well known hand held cleaner but as they are now just SO expensive looked for an alternative. The Stratos took time for me to get used to also a bit fiddlier than my previous hand held. But once used to it, it is very good & powerful if needed , would recommend 2 batteries , though it has never run out on me yet it’s just a better deal to get at same time & then always have back up. Have the car kit as well & just used it ,so very good for getting to those difficult places. All in all pleased with performance No more dogs hair everywhere..

I really did a lot of research before getting this vaccuum. It is way more lighter than Dyson. It doesnt work on full power all the time and changes it’s power depending on how dirty the surface is therefore the battery lasts way much longer. As a formal Dyson user, I think this version of Shark cane in much more handy than I expected.

Long battery life, it will vacuum 3 bedroom house fully carpeted on a single charge, without losing power.
Hair pickup excellent, have black labrador and it copes with her hair no problem. It is extremely maneuverable. Easy to store. Worth every penny. Can fully recommend this product.

Absolutely brilliant. I have 2 dogs and all I can say is it’s picked up dog hair I couldn’t even see. Powerful it is how ever seems a little more heavy than my last shark but too be truthful the power of it from the suction may make it seem more heavy. But I will definitely give this shark 5stars. Very happy with delivery fast as always. Very good price this was a few pound cheaper than the shark site at the moment got it with 21% off so a very happy custome

It’s a great vacuum. Full of lots of clever and useful engineering.
Getting the show home lines on the carpet is very easy to do with this vac!
However, I have a 3 bed house over 3 floors, no pets, and by the time I’ve hoovered from top to bottom – bar the living room – the battery is dead.
In comparison to my other shark, the corded lift away, it does do a better job, much easier and lighter to lift up and down stairs.
Like most other sharks though, it does seem to have a problem standing up. It’s ok when folded down and put away, but if you’re needing it to stand for a minute it needs to be stood up against a wall or something.
For the price I think another battery could have been included. That is the reason for knocking a star off.
Other than that though, it does do an amazing job.

Having problems in lugging our old Dyson upstairs we invested in the Shark. What an excellent piece of kit. It cleans exceptionally well and is light enough to easily carry. We decided on the two battery option and never have to worry about running out of charge, with the display clearly telling us the battery charge status. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. After using it a while it was so good that we purchased a second for our static caravan to replace a stick vacuum that wasn’t a patch on this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersForget the other ‘stick vacuums’ this is the one to go for. It is much better made than certain other high price brands and what’s more it actually works and works really well. We don’t have stairs so can’t give it a rating. It is a bit heavier than the one it replaced but the important thing is it picks up the dust and debris of everyday life. You don’t have to go over and over the same area to clean it and you don’t have to wash the filter every time you use it and bits don’t fall off. Run time is ok for a 1500ft2 house. We wasted 400 on another brand, we should have gone for the Shark previously. Lesson learned. Highly recommended.

    Shark name is cool!
dual batteries enables whole house cleaning in one go
easy charging station for 2 batteries
    no cord
powerful and adjustable suction, including turbo
    no annoying hair wrap
    easy to empty
easily converts to hand held with various tools – for stairs, car, sofa, dusting etc
larger dust capacity than other sticks
    easy fold for storage
glides on rollers and can bend in middle to go under furniture easily
    light for illumination of dust.
perfect for hair – human and pet from all surfaces including my dirt trapper mats which tend to hold onto hair and are a pain to vacuum
    Doesn’t clog up
    Easy controls
    Easy to register guarantee online.
Good website with videos instructions and add on products

    Dislike:
No handle to lift when in folded position
Doesn’t stand when at full height as top heavy
Heavier than some sticks, but easy to manoeuvre when used to it. Worth it for extra quality, suction and capacity

I had vacuumed the house the day before this arrived with my heavy plug in. I vacuumed all over again with this the next day and filled the dust container.

Used to dread vacuuming – now I’m all over it!

Fully recommend especially if you have pets and long haired people in your home.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is generally a great vacuum to use. It’s light, it’s not too noisy and the two batteries are sufficient to do the whole house (66m2) in one go, allowing for emptying the small dust container once or twice.

If there is a small niggle, it’s that it doesn’t always pick up bits on carpets and even the battery-draining boost option doesn’t help that much, if at all.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought this because my previous vacuum had packed in and decided if I was going to get a vacuum that will (hopefully) last longer than my previous vacuum, I should go for a vacuum that is a little more pricey than I’d normally get and was recommended this vacuum by friends.

Well to say I’m surprised at how well this vacuum does the job. I’ve 2 dogs and both are shedding to no end right now and this vacuum literally pulls up more hair and dirt than any other vacuum I’ve had in the past. It’s definitely the best vacuum I’ve ever bought.

It’s a pity the container is so small but I suppose the exercise to the bin and back are worth it.

Golden Review Award: 121 From Our UsersIt’s taken me a while to get there, but I’m finally a convert to battery powered appliances. I’ve long been an advocate of cordless tools, but larger high-drain appliances such as vacuum cleaners and lawnmowers I wasn’t so sure about. Earlier this year I saw the light when I bought a LawnMaster battery powered lawn mower, finding everything about the experience revelatory. And now, inevitably, I’ve reached the same position with vacuum cleaners.

For the last 10-15 years or so we’ve had Dysons. I always thought they were the proper business, and we still have an upright and a cylinder versions of their Animal range. But, as they got older, I found them to be heavy, cumbersome and perhaps not as good as I’d convinced myself that they were. Specifically, the “Animal” claim was always doing a lot of heavy lifting, and I spent as much time unwrapping border collie fur and the wife’s long hair from the head unit as I did actually vacuuming.

But, the biggest problem with them was how much hassle they were to drag around the house, unplugging and plugging them back it, painful to clean the stairs, and storing them was just a downright pain in the backside. So, I started looking into battery powered vacuums several years ago. I head a lot of good things about many different brands. My sister swears by G-tech, for example. But more and more I heard a lot of good things about Shark. I’ve had several in my Amazon Wishlist for a long time, tracking their prices and reading the reviews. I’d almost got to the point where I was ready to commit.

And then, Shark brought out a new model. The Shark Stratos Pet Pro. It immediately made me sit up and take note, and I kept a close eye on the reviews coming in and the price, which at RRP is eye-watering. If I was going to spend that much on a cleaner, I wanted to be sure it was right. I hoped to get a deal during the Black Friday sales, but seeing the stock levels convinced me that it was unlikely to happenbut a refresh one evening of my Wishlist saw it not only back in stock but on a great offer. As the stock level plummeted while I looked, I dived in and placed my order.

The vacuum actually arrived on the Friday of Black Friday, and I set the camera rolling while I unboxed it and set it up for the first time. Much of the focus of my reviews is on how easy something is to use and set up, and a product like a vacuum can often come with so many attachments and bits that you’re never sure where to start. There’s certainly plenty of bits inside the Shark’s box, but it’s very straightforward.

You get the vacuum body, housing the motor, dust box, handle and where you connect the battery. You get two 60-minute batteries (one if you go for the single battery version, obviously), and a dual dock battery charger. There’s multiple heads for different activities, such as general cleaning, the stairs, upholstery and dusting, with a canvas bag to store them all in. There’s a central section that connects the body to your chosen head, which you will use in general floor cleaning but remove if you want to use the vacuum as a handheld device for cleaning stairs. You also get a purifier device in a sealed can that you fit to the main vacuum head, which you can definitely smell (in a pleasant way) when you’re vacuuming.

The vacuum has so many attachments and articulations that it could be in danger of being too complicated, but in reality it all works very well. There’s quick release buttons on the heads, on the main body to release the central section, and to fold the whole thing into a compact store mode. The dust bin releases very easily and is really straightforward to empty.

A note on the dust bin is that it does have a small capacity and you will likely be needing to empty it more regularly than you would with a regular vacuum, but the offset is that it is very easy to empty.

In operation the Shark Stratos is a delight to use. It really is lovely to use. Not only because you’re unencumbered by cables, but because it’s weighted really well. I wouldn’t say it’s a lightweight device, but the weight is nicely balanced and the way the head articulates will see you galloping around the house. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s better than anything I’ve used before. The weight is mainly in the body of the vacuum, where you hold it, which means that you can’t let it stand up on its own like you would with a traditional upright vacuumit’ll simply fall over. It’ll stand up when you take the dust bin off to empty, but it won’t stand up in any other circumstance unless you fold it down into its store-away mode.

But aside from that, I can’t stress enough how quickly you clean your house. I hadn’t quite realised how much of the vacuuming experience was taken up with dealing with the cables. Without them you sprint around, you really do. And the main head unit is brilliant. It is so low it gets under every cupboard and sideboard in the house. It has a headlight on it which really does a good job of showing the way forward, and there’s a lightbar that indicates how much power is being used. The vacuum adapts to different surfaces and workloads by reducing or increasing the power needed. It works really well. We’ve got a mixture of carpets, tiles and parquet flooring and it goes from one to another so smoothly.

On the main body you’ll find the power button (which there seems to about a 1 second delay before the power kicks in making you want to press it again) and a button for switching into eco mode. To be totally honest, the only scenario I would ever use eco mode is when I’d cleaning mats/rugs that would otherwise be sucked into the cleaner if it was at full tilt.

Which leads me onto perhaps the most important thing. Battery life. I specifically went for the twin battery version, as I would with any power tool, as it gives you the option to charge one battery while continuing to operate the device. Shark’s stated 120 minute battery life across both batteries is based on using eco mode. Well, I live with a border collie and a wife with 3ft long hair.eco mode isn’t an option. I’m going to be using it at full power, all of the time. In the real world, how does the battery fare?

On the first time I used the Shark, having fully charged the batteries, I did a complete clean of the house, top to bottom including stairs, cleaned the sofas, used the dust attachment and did all of the picture rails, skirtings, sideboards.anything that I could vacuum I vacuumed. With both batteries the Shark flew through everything with plenty of charge left to spare. I had my stopwatch running the entire time, pausing the clock every time I stopped to empty the dust bin (four times in total across the entire house) and completed a total clean of the house.which really doesn’t happen very often. The Shark still had 20% left in the second battery. I kept going though as I wanted to see exactly how long the battery lasted. It took an age for that last 20% to deplete, and when it did I had been vacuuming for a total of 44 minutes 28 seconds. This was using a mixture of the heads, but primarily the main powered head.

Now, 44 minutes doesn’t actually sound very much does it? It’s a lot less than the manufacturers claims, but that is against using eco mode. In reality, 44 minutes vacuuming is a long time. We have a decent sized 3 bedroomed detached house, with added border collie. It’s a reasonable challenge for a cordless vacuum, but the Shark has taken it impressively in its stride. Without cables to deal with you’ll find you really will fly around your house.

Is it flawless? No, it’s not. As I say, with the dust bin in place the vacuum won’t stand upright on its own. And the dust bin is small so you’ll be emptying it regularly. I question whether the single battery version would clean much but the smallest of properties. It’s also very expensive, even on offer. But, on the right deal, it soon starts to make sense. With the twin batteries it’s extremely capable. It cleans really well, gets into awkward places, is quite quiet in comparison to vacuums I’ve previously used, the dust bin is easy to clean, it all folds away into a very compact form and is easy to store, the batteries are charged off-machine, which means you don’t need to store it close to a power supply to keep it charged. It’s very agile and incredibly versatile. You’re effectively getting an upright vacuum and a handheld vacuum in one, so you can do the stairs or the car very easily. It also comes with a 5-year warranty (2 for the batteries).

Is it worth the money? There’s no denying that it’s expensive, but would I buy it again? Yes, I’m sure that I would.
